After obtaining her degree, Hazel worked as an English teacher. That was until she met her husband and decided to indulge in her secret passion...writing! When she isn’t writing, Hazel enjoys spending time with her family, travelling or roaming the Texan countryside.

Embark on this journey of desire, decorum and intense love of Regency England. Let Hazel transport you into an era of pure, sincere love and charming lords that will take your breath away!

I'm surprised that Martha got away with following Phoebe to Gretna Green as there were so many obstacles in her way - not least - Noah. The story is funny and sweet, with an uncurrent of the usual nasty characters - this time the slimy Lord Limington.
What follows is a chase across the countryside, with witty banter between Martha and Noah that is delightful. Their journey becomes one of actually getting to know one another, but both are restricted by their past, and now their outrageous actions in going off together. Although lighthearted, there is an element of seriousness in the storyline, making it well worth the read.
I gave it 4 stars.

Wonderful Story Ms. Linwood!

Everything was going well for the wedding until the bride to be came up missing. This left Martha worried for Phoebe. After Martha found the secret message that Phoebe left she knew just what to do. She wanted to help Phoebe so she waited for the others to leave then made her way to Phoebe. Before she could leave though the Duke found her and insisted on traveling with her. What an adventure it turned out to be. I highly recommend this wonderful story.

Great Read

"The Way to a Duck's Heart" was
a delight to read. The story was full of adventure and surprises. A great love story. While searching for her run away cousin, Martha and Noah find that they love one another. What started as a forced friendship full of teasing and dislike of each other from childhood, the two come to discover their true feelings. Happy endings for all.

This book gave me anxiety. Martha is the most nervous, fluttery, worried, anxious, main character I’ve ever read. She’s terrified of everything. Then she decides do go haring off to Greta green chasing after phoebe (why? If she wants her to get there then maybe it’s not necessary to follow her?), which is supremely out of character for someone as nervous as Martha. Then Noah invites himself along and ends up being as ass most of the way. What a fun crew.

Frenemies to a couple in love

Hazel Linwood keeps on getting better. This romance takes frienemies on a wild trip to locate a runaway cousin. During their adventure, Martha and Noah realize all their childhood bickering really wasn't so bad. That instead of enemies, it was just their way of showing affection that turns into a deep love.

Was it teasing or something more?
Okay this one starts off with a tangle and soon fate weaves itself into our heroine and hero’s life. Noah and Martha were fun characters their bickering back and forth was grand. You could see just where it was going as their journey together took place. I really liked this story

Another awesome book and well written by Hazel as she has the ability to invoke raw emotions of the characters Martha and Noah dislike each other from childhood to adulthood. An Interesting story of what happens when two people who despise each other go in search of Martha’s cousin and how their hearts turn from dislike to love. A must read. Loved it.

Adventure to Gretna Green!

Noah and Martha have known each other their entire lives but always are sarcastic to each other. When her cousin runs away days before her marriage, they set out to find her. This adventure changes their entire relationship as they find they are mutually attracted. Entertaining story!

Super cute enemies to lovers

This book is an adventure really. I didn't understand why Martha would want to go after her cousin but I'm glad she did. I love Noah's character, so sure of himself but not arrogant, and generally always a gentleman, except for when he was dealing with unexpected feelings.
As always, I am so appreciative of a clean romance! They make my heart sing!

Parental Selection Fails

A charming tale of multiple Plan A choices which all fail, though the alternative outcomes are all perfect. Arranged marriages with no thought of love ; a baron who had no inclination to marry; a young lady who didn’t think herself able to be loved… all roads led through rough terrain but ended happily.

Great read!

I loved the banter between Martha and Noah. Searching for her cousin proved to each of them that a spark of something was growing between them. That spark turned to a fire!

The plot of this novel was too drawn out, didn't have much conflict, had little interaction between the main characters, and didn't keep my interest. Maybe it was too bland a story for me. I've read and liked other books by this author, but not this book.

The Way to a Duke’s Heart—a good story

This is a sweet and clean historical romance about a socially awkward couple that get to know each other while traveling together. I enjoyed the way their relationship evolved.

great story with a twist!

Love that both Phoebe and Martha found love. I liked all of the conversations between the characters. Their conversations made the characters come to life as in real lives. Good storyline.
