It is too late by the time she realizes that her stunningly handsome boss needs her to be more than just his manager. Starstruck by Shobana Mahadevan is the story of Superstar Pranav and a simple girl Meghna.... The book is funny, engaging, sweet... overall an enjoyable read.... just like her other books, this one too gives u subtle messages as the story moves ahead..... makes you want to think over a lot of things about life... definitely recommended

A cute and a delightful story exploring Slow burn, Celebrity Romance, Meghna meets Pranav accidentally when she mistakes him as her blind date in a restaurant. Not having an inkling that he is a hot shot celebrity, she fails to recognise him and fawn over him and enjoys her time with him. Pranav in turn feels ecstatic at being treated like a normal person and is instantly attracted to her and offers her the job of being his manager. She comes to work for him and gets an in-depth knowledge of his life as a superstar and gets to know him as a person. Her respect for him grows on learning about how he has overcome his tragic past and has evolved into the man he is, and she feels deeply attracted towards him. Pranav voices these feelings and proposes to her to marry him, which she turns down. Why did Meghna turn him down? How does Pranav convince her, or Does she convince him back? What is their story?
Meghna is a cute, innocent, fearless, and an outspoken girl. She is funny and the way she bonds with Pranav is so adorable. Pranav is just like how you imagine a superstar to be; sexy, extremely handsome with an attitude to match, but still retaining his sanity intact amongst all the showbiz. His banters with Meghna are sweet and the way he is mildly scared of Meghna’s temper is so endearing. Aside from an engaging storyline, this also highlights that life in the public eye is not all hunky dory, especially with having your heart being gutted every time something rotten is written about you, or a judgment is passed over you and your privacy is sacrificed. This made me think that somewhere we too are privy to this and pass judgment about celebrities quite openly. And in future I am going to try to refrain from doing this. A lovely read, this one is recommended.

Keeping aside the storyline, and the writing style, Shobana's books comprise mature conversations which I always look forward to. To that and to the mood-lightening story, a 4/5!
