What happens when one cynical, genius billionaire meets an equally brilliant language savant who challenges everything he thinks he knows about women and romance?
Maybe my two older brothers had lost their minds over a woman, but that was never going to happen to me.
I'd never believed in soul mates, romantic love, or happily ever after.
The only thing any woman had ever wanted from me was the Montgomery name and all the billions of dollars and luxuries that came with it.
Those facts had been proven to me over and over again until I met Victoria "Torie" Durand, my best friend's little sister and the one woman who wasn't impressed by my wealth or my name.
Torie might need more than I was capable of giving, but I found it downright impossible to turn away from the haunted look in her eyes.
I was either going to have to let her turn my world upside down or I had to walk away.
Turns out that I'm not that jerk who can turn away from a woman who needs help.
But what's going to happen when she's perfectly capable of standing on her own two feet again and I don't want her to leave....?
J.S. Scott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. She's an avid reader of all types of books and literature. Writing what she loves to read, J.S. Scott writes both contemporary erotic romance stories and paranormal romance erotics. They almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can't seem to write them any other way! She lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two very spoiled German Shepherds.
You’d think that after 16 books in the same series, I’d get sick of billionaires. HA! The only thing I’m sick of is each billionaire brother having their own private jet. It’s so bad for the environment, just share one jet!
But I digress.
Cooper and Torie were adorable. Cooper has been burned badly in a previous relationship, so when he has an instant connection with Torie, he essentially runs away from her every time he encounters her. That all ends when she needs his help while out on a hike. FORCED PROXIMITY FTW.
Torie went through a truly traumatic kidnapping a year ago, so she’s also wary about getting into a relationship. But the chemistry between them can’t be denied and they agree to “casual dating.” Which is a laugh and a half, because we all know J.S. Scott’s heroes don’t do casual.
Great chemistry, emotional depth, with a little bit of suspense, Billionaire Unnoticed was a sweet and romantic read. I loved that both Cooper and Torie are giant nerds with massive IQs; I can’t resist a literal genius.
Billionaire Unnoticed - Cooper was the seventeenth book in the Billionaire’s series by JS Scott. Although more enjoyable in order, the series can be read out of order.
I’ve taken a hiatus from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I enjoyed both Cooper Montgomery and Victoria “Torrie” Durand. They were both intellectually gifted and perfect for each other. Torrie had some major trauma where she was lucky to be alive, but still struggled with the aftermath. Cooper was able to help her through it while developing a friendship. And although their attraction and chemistry were off the charts, it was a slow build. And sometimes too slow for me. But all in all, I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Scott also set the stage for Torrie’s brother’s stories next. First up is Billionaire Unclaimed, Chase.
Torie has endured a devastating and traumatic experience that would have destroyed a lot of people, but she is determined to not let it define her. She is now working at Last Hope which puts her into contact with Cooper, but it is only when he comes to her rescue after an accident that they truly get to know each other.
Cooper is used to women wanting to be around him for what he can do for them rather than who he is which has made him cautious. He decides to handle the feelings he has for Torie by keeping his distance but when circumstances push them together, he is intrigued by her strength and resilience and what was supposed to be an uncomplicated friendship turns into so much more.
Although their reasons are very different, they both bear the emotional scars of the past and seeing them open their hearts and pasts to each other and help each other heal is everything you could ask for and so much more.
Another hot, steamy , raw book from J.S Scott. This series like all of Scott's books are impossible to put down and totally drool worthy. Cooper and tories story is gripping. While sad and hard to read in places their story is heartwarming . I look forward to the next book.
Perfectly executed as always with plenty of heat and heart! I adored Torie and Cooper and was rooting for them right from the start and their story was another wonderful book in the series. J.S. Scott has this incredible ability to just draw me into her stories from the very first word and make me never want to leave. Her writing is effortless and flows so beautifully that it’s an absolute pleasure to read her books. Looking forward to the next one and to know more about Chase. 4.5 stars!
Billionaire Unnoticed J.S. Scott is a part of the California Billionaires book 3 and The Billionaire's Obsession Book 17. This is the story of Cooper and Torie. Torie has a very tragic past with a kidnapping that happen just a year ago so she is very cautious of new people and sometimes situations. But there is a connection between her and Cooper. Cooper has been burned in a past relationship and feels that women are just out to use him. So when he has that instant connection to Torie he tries to run from it but something happens that puts them in a close contact that starts to change things. Loved this book and series. I highly recommend Ms. Scott's writing.
Torie and Cooper are an easy couple to follow and fall in Love with. They open their hearts and minds to one another. Absolutely felt the emotions when Torie is opening up to Cooper about her previous experience and pains. I laughed at the good nature ribbing between brothers and enjoyed seeing Torie become one of the girls. Author J. S. Scott never disappoints with the growth of her characters and the absolute amazing stories that portray real life events and solutions. Couldn't put this book down which isn't a surprise with an amazing couple who grow more in love at their own pace.
Billionaire Unnoticed is another Billionaire hit by J.S. Scott! I don't know how she does it, but I will never tire of her stories. It has been awhile since I read her books and I am so glad I got to get my hands on this bad boy for the Holiday season.
Cooper is just a big teddy bear on the inside. On the outside he is this rugged alpha male that holds love at arms length. He may seem frosty at first, but he has a heart of gold. Especially when it comes to Torie!
My heart broke over and over for Torie and the tragedy she had to endure a year ago. That girl mentally cannot get a break! But when she and Cooper are together, the storm calms a bit for her. Even though she tries to fight through the ocean of feelings coming to shore.
Billionaire Unnoticed has you falling for Cooper and Torie! You have that passion back and the chemistry will go "unnoticed"!
Cooper Gave Up Dating, But That Changes When He Comes To Torie’s Rescue! Torie Is Still Trying To Get Past The Nightmares From Her Captivity, So The Pair Must Tread Lightly In This Slow Burn.
This is the seventeenth book in The Billionaire’s Obsession series. Each book in the series reads perfectly as a standalone. Books one through five are centered around Tampa, Florida. Book six is a bridge between The Sinclairs series and this series, but it also shifts the series to Colorado. The series continues in Colorado with the Colter family, whose five children comprise books seven through eleven. In books ten and eleven, the Colter twins marry the Lawson sisters. After, the series continues on in Seattle with the three Lawson brothers. Mason Lawson’s newly-discovered cousins, the Montgomerys, then take over the series in San Diego. Their stories provide a bridge to The Accidental Billionaires series.
The books about the Montgomery family cross over with the series about the West Coast Sinclairs – The Accidental Billionaires series. Little sister Riley Montgomery, an environmental lawyer, has already found her HEA with Seth Sinclair, the self-made construction worker turned billionaire builder, in Enamored. Her three older brothers, however, remain available. ABOUT THE MONTGOMERYS:
Mason Lawson, whose story was told in book fourteen, had learned as an adult that he was adopted by his father and that his father had married his mother after she was drugged and sexually assaulted by his biological father, a Montgomery. Mason was fortunate to have been raised in a loving home by a father that loved him as his own. Hudson Montgomery recently learned of the family connection himself. He and his siblings have since connected with their newly-discovered cousin Mason, and the Montgomerys and Lawsons are already beginning to feel like family.
The Montgomery children had not fared better in terms of fathers. In fact, they arguably had it worse since they were raised by their father in a cold home absent of love. The children had all been gifted, and while Riley had been left home alone, the boys had been sent away to a private school for gifted children. Their mother was concerned with appearances more than her children’s welfare. The Montgomery kids suspect she knew all along that Riley had been the victim of incest, simply choosing to turn a blind eye. The news devastated the boys when they finally found out. Their father had passed on, and they had stopped all communication with their mother.
The boys each graduated with a business degree by age twenty, and all chose to go into service. Hudson entered the Marines and served in the Delta Force. Jax became a Navy SEAL, and Cooper was an Army Ranger. The boys enjoyed their independence and service in the military, but once they had discovered mismanagement at Montgomery Mining following their father’s death, they each left when their contracts ran out. Hudson had returned first and had already made great strides by the time his brothers joined him at the helm. Today Montgomery Mining is the largest mining operation in the world. Their cutting-edge tech and research make them a leader in their field. The brothers now live in the spotlight as eligible billionaire bachelors.
After returning to civilian life, the brothers didn’t give up on serving their country. They organized an undercover operation to help with hostage rescues in cases where the U.S. government cannot help. The government conveniently looks the other way, but if the veil of secrecy is pierced and Last Hope becomes known to the public, their operation will be forced to shut down. PRO, a similar organization that Mason’s brother Jett had participated in, had been forced to shut down following a helicopter crash that alerted the public to its existence. Last Hope is now one of the last places families and companies can turn to in a crisis, so secrecy is of paramount importance. IN THIS BOOK:
This book opens in early January in San Diego.
Cooper Montgomery, roughly thirty-three, has given up dating and romance. He was never very good at it, and after his relationship with Fiona crashed after a year together, he decided to give up trying. It hadn’t been a hard choice because he hadn’t met a woman that really tempted him. Cooper works with his brothers running Montgomery Mining, and they’ve noted he has been a bit grouchy as of late. Cooper is the youngest of the three Montgomery brothers. Unlike Hudson and Jax, Cooper is not prone to impulsive decisions. He is pragmatic in everything he does. All the Montgomery kids were gifted, but Cooper’s IQ is one of the highest in the world. He is a planner. He thinks things through instead of jumping in headfirst – it is just the way his brain works. But all his genius has not done him any favors when it comes to relationships. He wants what his brothers have found, but it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards for him. Women want him for his money. Things had become very comfortable with Fiona. He enjoyed showering her with gifts. But she ended up leaving him for, by all accounts, a lesser man.
Cooper doesn’t lack things to keep him busy despite his open social calendar. He loves getting outdoors and hiking. Like his brothers, Cooper is involved in Last Hope. Helping to rescue kidnapping victims harkens back to his days as an Army Ranger and gives him a sense of purpose. There is also the dog training center that he and Jax contribute to. Carefully selected dogs are taken from the shelter and taught to become companions and assistants for military veterans. Cooper likes to visit the center and help out by exercising the dogs.
Everything seemed to be smooth sailing for Cooper until two weeks ago when he met his friend Chase’s little sister. Cooper doesn’t believe in fate or anything like that, but he certainly felt something when he met her – and had avoided her ever since. Torie Durand had unfortunately begun volunteering at Last Hope, which was going to be a complication.
Victoria “Torie” Durand, thirty-two, is a contract linguist for the FBI. She prefers not to work for them full-time, finding the work to be monotonous at times, but she does like to keep busy. She works by choice, not necessity, because she has a sizable inheritance from her very wealthy family. She is thinking about working at a university next year, hoping to find it more rewarding, and she has recently begun volunteering at Last Hope. It is a big step for her, but it has special meaning. Chase and Wyatt Durand, her brothers, are also involved with the organization. The brothers inherited Durand Industries when their father died four years ago. They have some Paris offices but are in the process of moving everything back to San Diego. For now, that leaves Torie alone in the city. She had moved back a year ago after living in New York. She left her friends and her job as a translator at the UN behind. It was hard to do, but she wanted to be closer to her brothers.
It was a coincidence that tragedy struck her just as she was moving back home. She had looked forward to a trip to the Amazons of Peru, never imagining that she would be kidnapped by pirates. Her brutal kidnappers tormented her for two weeks, and she understood everything they said. They never planned on letting her live. She was left for dead but had the will to survive. The surgeries, therapy, and recovery that followed had her out of commission for a while. But she wants to move on. Volunteering at Last Hope is part of that. Getting back out into nature and hiking is another part. When she finds herself injured on a trail and darkness approaching, it shouldn’t be a surprise that her brother Chase, feeling helpless in Paris, sends his friend to find her.
Cooper and Torie have instant chemistry, but neither looking for a relationship. They aren’t even looking for benefits of any sort. Cooper is stubbornly trying to stick to his decision to quit dating despite how he feels around Torie. Torie is attracted to Cooper, but she still has some emotional scars from her captivity that she needs to sort through. They quickly agree to be friends, taking other options off the table, which opens the door for them to get to know one another. The pair come to learn that they have much in common, but they still struggle with communicating their developing feelings for one another. Torie gets pulled into the Montgomery family, and soon she is fast friends with Riley, Taylor, and Harlow. They provide an informal support group for her, as Hudson and Jax (and Chase) do for Cooper. There is a lot of advice to be found, but things are easier said than done. The couple struggles to find their way forward, and there are a few obstacles along their path. They eventually find a happy ending.
Cooper’s character is very entertaining. He is admittedly boring – too smart to be interesting or romantic. But it only takes an intelligent woman to come along and bring out the best in him for his transformation to take place. Underneath his pragmatic self is a man with passion and love. In a certain way, in the end, he has much less patience than his brothers. Torie’s traumatic experience left her broken in many ways, but her spirit is unbreakable. She is inspiring, and when Cooper learns of her past, it makes him pay even more attention. He had never been so involved in the life of a woman he dated, but he and Torie quickly become inseparable. Her hiking injury initially has them in close quarters and him fawning over her, but his attentions continue as he learns about her continuing struggles from last year. It gives the couple a pass, of sorts, and an excuse to fast forward on what might otherwise be a long courtship. The absence of Torie’s brothers, of course, is instrumental in this coming about. Chase himself seems to encourage the couple, knowing they might be a great fit and might benefit from a nudge.
This story concludes the saga of the Montgomery family. Billionaire Unclaimed ~ Chase, book 18, will pick up with the Durand family. The Durand brothers also live in San Diego and are involved in Last Hope. Chase and his little sister’s childhood best friend, Savannah, have been antagonistic for years. Savannah Anderson now lives in New York and is a well-known reporter. Their story gets a small introduction here as they cross paths at a wedding.
For those following the ages of the Montgomery children, Hudson is the oldest and is probably just turned thirty-five. Jax follows at about thirty-four and is ten months younger than Hudson. They all came back to back, so Cooper is roughly thirty-three and Riley thirty-two.
Cooper gave up dating, but that changes when he comes to Torie’s rescue. Torie is still trying to get past the nightmares from her captivity, so the pair must tread lightly in this slow burn. The story is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are carefully crafted. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Cooper and Torie. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
The story is fast moving and keeps your interest. This is an amazing story that ties these friends lives together as they find the !oves of their lives.
How my heart broke for Cooper and Torie. Billionaire unnoticed is a captivating read that has action around every turn. Torie learns to overcome her horrifying experience and Cooper slowly lets his guard down. Never have I seen two people more deserving of love.
Once again, J.S. Scott gives us another emotion filled story that completely tugs at your heart strings. You get all the feels, laughs, tears, rawness. A perfect addition to the series. Cooper & Torie will steal your heart
Can’t believe this is book 17 absolutely love the series it’s one of the very first ones I read by this writer can’t recommend it enough absolutely love the way these characters develop their relationship and come out of their shells both of them. I love the big family feel with these books as I come from a big family so I absolutely love it when you’ve got a lot of people getting involved messing with your life even if you don’t want them to cannot wait for more looking forward to anything J. S. Scott I loved the audiobook and highly recommend buying it. Really brings the book to life.
I will never get enough of these billionaire men! Billionaire Unnoticed - Cooper: The Billionaire’s Obsession was positively amazing. This is the story of Cooper Montgomery and Victoria (Torie) Durand. Torie’s brother, Chase, is best friends with Cooper. Cooper and Torie have very high IQs, that being said, Cooper has been through a really bad relationship, and has found that women don’t really get him and don’t match him in intelligence and really only want him for his name and money, so he has sworn off relationships. Torie is a linguist and works for Last Hope, which is an organization the Montgomery men are founders of, and Torie’s brothers are members of also. Torie…oh Torie, just broke my heart, but watching her on her journey of healing was very special. Cooper runs into Torie at Last Hope headquarters, and he immediately is attracted to her and knows that she is different than any woman he has ever known, which is why he runs in the other direction and avoids Torie after that. Torie was working as a linguist for a previous employer and would work internationally. She is an adventurist, so she likes to explore the Country she is working in before she heads home back to the States. While working on her last job a year previous, she was kidnapped in the Amazon jungle. She was tortured and found close to death. Only her brother’s and her best friend know of what happened to Torie. Her brothers are there for her through her entire recovery and are very protective of her. She is trying to get some sort of normalcy in her life, so she decides to take a hike on a very amature trail, one she has hiked many times in her life. Her brothers like to know where she is at all times. She stumbles and falls and injures her ankle. She tells her brother, Chase, who is in Paris working with her other brother, Wyatt, that she hurt her ankle and it will take longer for her to get home. Chase calls Cooper and asks him to help Torie who is injured. Chase knows she is in a lot of pain and is worried about her as it is getting dark and she suffers from PTSD, but does not let Cooper know this because he is honoring Tories’ wishes on who her story is told to. Cooper reluctantly goes to help her because he is attracted to her and is trying to stay away from her. He finds Torie and soon realizes her ankle is much worse that she led on to her brother. He carries her down the hiking trail, takes her to the hospital, takes her home where he gets her something to eat and puts ice on her ankle….swoon. Their relationship was a slow burn, because after Torie tells him about what happened to her, he is in awe of her. He puts his attraction for her aside and decides to help her on her journey of healing, so their relationship starts with friendship. I felt a lot of different emotions with their story. Cooper was everything Torie needed in helping her heal, and the same could be said about Torie. Cooper had no idea a relationship could be so good. Mistakes are made by Cooper, and continuing in the Montgomery tradition, there is a lot of groveling. Their story is very emotional. There is a lot of angst in this book. Their chemistry is off the charts. I know I say this about each billionaire book, but this one was my favorite. Cooper can save me any day. This really is a must read. On any release day of a J. S. Scott’s book, I make sure everyone leaves me alone because I do not want to be disturbed. I read them in one sitting no matter what time it is. Her books are not books that you could put down and go back to later. They are that good! She is my favorite author. Thank you, Ms. Scott, for another fabulous book. I cannot wait to read Chase’s story. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
For some reason, this didn’t feel as powerful as the last book. It was definitely good, and I thoroughly enjoyed it but I feel like there was maybe a bit too much cynicism on Cooper’s end in the beginning that made me annoyed, or maybe it was the fact that I didn’t like how they both played clueless when it came to attraction. I guess Torie admitted it more than Cooper but both didn’t want to go for it for fear of not knowing what the other person wanted. Maybe it was Cooper’s denial that I didn’t like but there was something held back from this story. I’m not sure what made me think this way but I do know I didn’t like it as much as the last book. It’s ridiculous though because Torie essentially went through the same thing Harlow and Taylor went through but the only difference is that we don’t get the full story of Torie’s recovery throughout the book. It skips over the part from the moment she is rescued from the Amazon and goes right into a year later. I guess I wanted that part of her recovery to be featured in this book and have Cooper be there for her in that time of need. I wanted a story like I got with Jax and Harlow but that didn’t happen with this book. I guess that’s what I felt was missing. While it showcases Torie recovering, I would have wanted to read about her time from the minute she’s rescued to when she meets Cooper. I wanted him to be more of her rock and guidance than he was. I felt like she was on the tail end of her recovery when she meets him. She was good, but could be better. I wanted to read about all of Torie’s struggles and not just parts of it. I felt like that would have been more powerful. We get a feel for how Cooper would have done a rescue at the end of the book and it would have been amazing had he been there for her the first time. I feel like with Torie that would have been great to see her progress with him in more detail but I could see how it would be nearly identical to the last book so it wouldn’t be as exciting. I think differently though because there was something about that last book that tore at my heartstrings and this could have had that same, mind blowing feel had there been more details about her recovery. It did take me a minute to get engrossed in Cooper and understand him. He was extraordinarily different and there was nothing wrong with that, I just had a hard time making that connection with him like I did Hudson and Jax. One thing is for sure though, the Montgomery men are emotional and it was beautiful to see that all come to light. It was a great way to close out this family and ease into the next one which would be Torie’s side. Looking ahead, I don’t know where the main guy in book 20 comes from but I’m sure I’ll be finding out in either Chase or Wyatt’s story. I wish this one could have been better but in any case, I’ll take a 4 rating book than anything lower than that any day. I hate when I have to give a book that rating.
I went into reading Billionaire Unnoticed - Cooper without having read a 'billionaire' story for a while, as I had started to wonder just how many billionaires there could be out there! But any caution was put to rest pretty quickly. It's nice to know that I can always put my trust in J.S. Scott to produce a book that I will love!
Tori and Cooper are both freaky smart, with Cooper the higher IQ of the two. And his high IQ has caused some problems for him in the past, which has left him guarded and cautious. Tori is also a little tentative, but for very different reasons - she is recovering from a vicious incident only 1 year ago that has left her struggling with some leftover issues.
Cooper seems like a bit of a tough cookie on the outside, but inside, he's a big marshmallow. He hasn't really found a woman in the past who has taken the time to see past his money to the man inside. But there's plenty about Cooper to love and I really enjoyed getting to know him. He thinks because he is so logical and methodical that he can't be a romantic man, but he doesn't realise that being romantic comes in many forms!
Tori isnt looking for a relationship, while she's still recovering, but she's willing to consider friendship. Which is where she thinks things are going with Cooper. But with an attraction like there is between these two, that's not going to last long.
This book is part of a series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. However, for those of you following along, you'll get to revisit with plenty of your old favourites!
Billionaire Unnoticed - Cooper can be quite confronting in parts. Especially the prologue. Be prepared to be along for the ride with Tori while she's in a very dangerous and violent situation, and it certainly sets the adrenalin to high right from the beginning. There are also other times in this book where the topics discussed might be a bit hard for some readers to get through.
I really enjoyed Tori and Cooper's story and I read it all in one day, as I didn't want to put it down. Once again, J.S. Scott has proven why she is on my auto-approval list of authors.
Thank you to the author J.S. Scott for my copy of this ebook. I am voluntarily leaving a review and all opinions are my own.
Cooper and Torie’s story took me on another emotional journey. The year before, Torie had survived a harrowing kidnapping where she was beaten and tortured, it was through her physical and mental strength that she made it out alive. Since then she has started volunteering at Last Hope, a volunteer private rescue organization, that both her and Cooper’s siblings are a member of. Cooper had met Torie two weeks prior and has been trying to avoid her since then. He instantly felt a connection to her and this intense chemistry he has never felt before. He knew she was dangerous to his vow of staying away from any romantic entanglements. But with one phone call from Torie’s brother asking for a favor, his vow is shot out of the water. They both have so much in common; besides volunteering at Last Hope, they are both highly intelligent and they love the outdoors. After airing out some misunderstandings they decide to become friends and hang out. As the days go by they get to know each other and become so much closer until the attraction they have both felt for the other becomes undeniable.
What I really loved about this book was the progression of Torie and Cooper’s relationship. They both felt the connection early on but they both also had a lot to work through personally. Cooper was burned pretty bad in the past with women and he has a low opinion of himself. And with everything Torie had endured during her kidnapping, she has been extra cautious with the opposite s3x. But with Cooper, she always felt safe. So the more time they spent with each other, the more they began to heal each other. Besides the developing relationship between Torie and Cooper, I also loved how Harlow, Taylor, and Riley brought Torie into their fold. They were so supportive of her. And not only that, seeing Cooper eating crow was amusing. All the scoffing he did regarding his brothers’ “overreactions” towards their women and then feeling the exact same thing was fun to see. There was some drama close to the end that definitely kept me on my toes. That incident reiterated my awe of Torie and her strength and also the absolute love that Cooper and Torie have for one another. This was a fantastic read and can not wait for the next in this series.
I loved Cooper and Victoria!! From the sparks that ignite when they first meet through their slow burn romance as they not only get to know each other but learn how to have a relationship.
Cooper the third Billionaire Montgomery brother was severely broken by a past relationship. While he is happy that his two brothers have found love and have gone “insane” over their women, he knows it’s not for him.
Enter Victoria (Torie)! She his witty, beautiful, intelligent. Someone he can actually talk to. She is the newest member of Last Hope, a secret organization that searches and rescues missing people. His immediate attraction to her spurs him to avoid her. Not realizing that she is recovering from a horrible kidnapping where she was tortured and abused he does his best to ignore her, until her brother a fellow member of Last Hope asks him to help her when she is injured.
As they get to know about each other and begin to trust in their friendship we get the joy of watching Cooper and Torie fall in love. No one can bring out all the feels like Ms. Scott! I enjoyed the build of romance, the banter between the two and even Coopers relationship with his two brothers. Even though Cooper said he’s too practical to be romantic, he was. Ms Scott is a one click author for me. Billionaire Unnoticed: Cooper add another gem to her billionaire obsession series. Highly recommend reading this book! I hope Torie s brothers Chase and Wyatt get books of their own.
I’ve read all the billionaire books written by J.S. Scott and always think, she can’t possibly outdo herself again, yet here we are with another stellar story! In this book, we get to dive into the world of Cooper Montgomery, one of the Montgomery Mining brothers. As a member of Last Hope, he is used to seeing people come through crises and learn to rebuild their lives. Torie Durand is the newest volunteer at Last Hope, and unbeknownst to Cooper, a survivor of a horrific incident that has left Torie scarred and needing to learn to trust again. There's an immediate attraction between them both, but Cooper is unwilling to believe he can be in a relationship again…ever. Torie doesn’t understand why Cooper is avoiding her at all costs, but once they are in a situation that forces them to rely on each other, they begin to build a friendship and bond that leaves them both wanting more.
I loved learning about Cooper and Torie and watching their relationship develop and blossom into something so swoon-worthy, it makes a gal jealous! Jan is an incredible author that manages to pull you into the story and makes you regret the book ending. I’ve yet to meet a book I haven’t loved, and Billionaire Unnoticed held up to the expectations of being an incredible read from start to finish!
JS Scott has the ability of creating stories that make you fall in love with the characters, every time you read a book of hers you say “This is my favorite” but that is just a comment that lasts until you read the next book. In this story how can you not fall in love with Cooper and Tori, they are both smart, loyal, but most of all the attraction between them is undeniable. Having gone through such a traumatic event has cause her to become a recluse, having gone from this person who lived to see new places she is now afraid of putting herself out there. Then there is Cooper, after having failed relationships especially the last one, he has now sworn off dating. He considers himself boring, too logical without any imagination and because of this if any woman dates him its only because what his name can do for them and his money. While due to their pasts neither wants a relationship and know of their attraction to each other, they decide to have a friendship but their attraction is to potent to ignore. This book is part of a series, even though it can be read as a standalone I recommend starting from the beginning, in each book get to see the characters from the previous books and get a glimpse of their lives at the present time. I really enjoyed this book, yet again I enjoy anything written by this author, I am looking forward future books.
Frosty blue flames meet an amber glow igniting the first sparks between Cooper and Victoria Ms. Scott has done it again, given her readers an early holiday gift in the story of Cooper, a rugged and amazing man with a beautiful soul just waiting to be joined with Victoria, a strong and absolutely remarkable woman who brings out the best in him, and allows them both to become complete. You will absolutely fall in love with Cooper and Victoria who have an instant spark of attraction and connection, but his scars from women who failed to see the wonderful man behind the money and her deep wounds from the horrific torment she suffered at the hands of her captures play into their fears of opening their hearts to love until their friendship takes root and allows their souls to feel and hearts to heal. Ms. Scott never fails to bring true depth to her characters and heart to her stories. You will love Cooper and Tori’s story and will want to go back and reread Jax and Hudson’s. This is a read you will not want to put down, but will want to share. Give a friend the joy of the Montgomery brother’s this holiday season and watch them fall in love with Ms. Scott’s stories as much as her loyal readers.
Billionaire Unnoticed - Cooper is the third book in the California Billionaires series and the 17th in the interconnected Billionaire's Obsessed series. It can be read as a standalone book, but it includes couples from previous books in this series.
Torie was kidnapped in the Amazon getting to a boat tour. When the kidnappers realized she was a high profile American working for the UN as a translator, they tried leaving her for dead in the jungle. She fought physical, mental and sexual abuse to live and has taken a job where her brothers work at Last Hope rescuing those who need help by assisting with her multilingual skills.
Cooper is one of the founders of Last Hope as well as being a billionaire with his two brothers in Montgomery Mining. He is instantly attracted to Torie, but doesn't want to be in a relationship, so he avoids her. When he realizes all she has lived through, he plans to befriend her and help her recovery. Suddenly, one of the most gifted minds in the world is beside himself with lust, possessive behavior and a driving need to protect and keep her happy. Can these two find their way to happiness together? Follow their sometimes difficult and nail-biting adventures as they find their way to love and healing.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Victoria "Torie" Durand & Cooper Montgomery. When this book opens we find that Torie has been held hostage in the Amazon Rain Forest for two weeks. During that time she was beaten severely and when she finally escaped she still nearly died. Now 1 year later she is out hiking on her own and twists her ankle doing something very dumb. When she answered the call from her brother during this time she never expected to see Cooper coming to her rescue she thought he hated her. Cooper has had a crush on Torie for a long time now. The problem he doesn't believe in himself as partner to a woman so he believes it is better to keep his distance. One phone call with Torie's brother and Cooper's best friend Chase has him questioning all he knows. Can these two find a HEA or will the problems from the past make a future impossible?
Another amazing story by this author. There is so much I want to tell you about this book. I just don't want to ruin it for other readers. I will say this book will have you looking not only your life but the world around you differently. J.S. makes sure she leaves you wanting to do better in the world. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
