He challenged the western concept of nationalism and expounded the concept of Islamic nations, on which the idea of Pakistan is based. good intro book to iqbal . Sometimes it seemed like the author was just saying what they thought iqbal's views were for a few paragraphs with only one or two lines from Iqbal himself to support it, so I felt like I was reading someone's thoughts on Iqbal more than Iqbal himself at times. However that's a good way to get into Iqbal because he does have a lot to him. I think overall the author does a good job!!
