19 books1 followerRadivoj Sajtinac is one of the most influential contemporary writers in Serbia. Born in 1949 in Zrenjanin, he later studied General Literature and Literature theory in Belgrade. Since that time he’s been a member of the Serbian Literary Society and the Society of Writers Vojvodine.

In 1970, he published his first book and continues publishing in a plethora of genres. He is well versed in writing within the literary genres including prose, fiction, poetry, literary and art criticism along with translating texts from Russian and English. He has over 25 books of prose and poetry published, many theatrical texts along with numerous essays and reviews in well-known newspapers and magazines. His novel, “Anecdote,” won an award through “Ars Longa,” for preservation of Fine Arts in 2006.
In his novel, “Victims of the Biedermeier,” Sajtinac explores the nature of creation through meta-narrative. The book flows through the past and the present in different voicing style showing the Historical journey of the main character, Vukasin Pomorisac. He travels through the nineteenth century in order to understand his own life along with everyday life and death of others around him. Like many of Sajtinac’s books he focuses on human behaviors and creates an enthralling read.
