This is an amazing little graphic novel about forbidden love involving a pirate and a village chief's daughter. The story is well paced and entertaining throughout. The historical aspect of the story is also very interesting and a good reminder of what went on around Singapore's waters and Terumbu (reefs) which may not be as strange as we imagined it. The artwork by Cheah SinAnn is expectedly great, and together with a satisfying story, makes this a graphic novel worth reading.
