I love Vanessa Brooks books!! This is another wonderful and well written story line.
Nate Benn is a ranch owner with his brother Dan. Nate is a gorgeous, sexy dominant. He is single and hasn't found his little, yet.
Hildy Shanley is talented with animals, and something happens that involves Nate coming into her life. She is given a job on his ranch and she and Nate find things with each other that they end up loving it, which turns into love!!
The scenes and the narrative and the characters are well developed. The book is a fun and addictive read. I love Vanessa and this book is a definite must read!!

I loved this story so much. Hildy was so much fun to read and I loved her whole personality. Nate, a Daddy Dom, knew from the start that she would be his but he just has to figure out how to handle her. LOL This story made me laugh and smile. It was a pleasure reading it. In fact, this is one I'll be reading again!!!

It was, and is, thanks to this author that I'm reading about Littles and their Daddy Doms. Until I read one of Ms. Brooks' books a while back, I'd heard about this genre but never read it. Now, thanks to her very good and very entertaining writing, I'm starting to get hooked.
This book, about Hildy and Nate, is highly entertaining. I can't begin to describe how much I enjoyed the exchanges between the two of them. And I'm not talking about the steam, I'm talking about every single time the two of them were in the same room.
As a cat lover, of course I loved the big cat, but more importantly, I loved the trust Nate had in Hildy at this point in the story. The interaction between all four major characters in this story was very well written and very realistic (even the embarrassment the two men felt about discussing Daddy Doms for the first time), and endeared me to the characters even more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves reading Daddy/Little books. Ms Brooks keeps getting better and better, and this book is wonderful. The steam is at the top of the charts, but more importantly the love is there too. Thank you Vanessa for writing this book.

This is the fourth in a series about dominants and their submissives -- one couple per state. They are standalones. Here, we get Hildy and Nate. When she's injured on his ranch, he insists she recover in his home. Once he discovers that she's a Little, can he be her Daddy?
This book was okay. The characters were likable; the D/s acts consensual; the Age Play mild. But, it was boring (little happened until the end) and eminently forgettable.
In terms of narrative, the prologue was jarring since it started in medias res and with characters who don't turn out to be our MC. The prose was technically okay (though it's "distract," not "detract"), but too filled with unimportant details of prosaic domestic activities.
2 1/2 stars. As an animal lover, I did appreciate those parts and the stance on conservation. Side Note: Ms. Brooks is British, which is fine except for when she sets a book in the US and doesn't change the Anglicisms. No one in the US says "a coffee" or "sorted" or "shite" or "fancy."

What a brilliant and beautiful story this is to read. I have definitely given this a five star because once again Vanessa has shown what a brilliant story writer she is.
From the start to the finish, its a story that will let your eyes be glued to the page and not wonder off.
I so loved Hildys character, a beautiful heart and soul and so good with animals that she is known as a horse whisperer. But its not only horses that she can speak to as we soon find out.
Nate, a caring Daddy Dom who will punish Hildy if she does wrong. They first met in the hospial when Hildy got hurt by a bull she was trying to put into the trailer.
Nate takes one look at Hildy and somehow knows that she is his. He soon discovers that she is a little, however now she is going to be his little.
This story wont disappoint readers. This Daddy Dom and little are to hard to resist

A PROBLEM SHARED IS A PROBLEM HALVED
The story is part of the Stateside Doms series by various authors, but each book will read as a stand-alone. The story is a mystery, suspense, danger, rescue, and new beginnings.
Hildy Shanley basically raised herself. Her mother died of cancer, and her father checked out of responsibility, taking to the bottle until he died. Her neighbor and cousin, Elmer Hinchins, acts as if he was benevolent, helping with funeral expenses, and letting Hildy work for him for mere pennies while paying off the debt. He is constantly offering to clear the debt if she would just sign over the land she inherited from her mother.
Nate Benn and his brother, Dan, own the Double B Ranch. Dan is married to Annie, and they live a DD/lg lifestyle but keep it private. Nate is a dominant but isn’t involved with anyone. The Benn brothers sell a prize bull, Jasper, to Elmer Hinchins, who will send Hildy, alone, to load and bring back. Jasper will bring Nate and Hildy together with a life and death encounter.
The story’s plot will have Hinchins sending Hildy to collect a bull he purchased from the Double B. When she arrives, John Reed is shocked she is by herself. He tells her where to go, and before he can get any help loading Jasper, she attempts to do it herself but is nearly crushed to death when Jasper spooks. The Benn brothers take responsibility for Hildy when Hinchins acts like it is her own fault. This is the beginning of Nate and Hildy, where he feels responsible for her, and while he has never been a Daddy Dom, he senses this little girl needs a Daddy to protect her and keep her safe, even from herself.
I loved watching the relationship developing between Nate and Hildy and her connection with Annie, discovering she is a little. While Hildy loves reading DD/lg books on her e-reader, talking with another woman in the lifestyle is enlightening. Letting go and trusting Nate to care for her, nurture her little, and help her as her body heals from the accident isn’t easy but freeing. Learning that a daddy has many sides is challenging but rewarding.
The story has the good, the bad, and ugly sides of people. Hildy had a few friends she could trust at Hinchins, but she learns that wonderful people like the Benn family are there when she needs it the most. Letting go and exploring her little side with Annie and Nate is wonderful, but she has her own place and knows she will have to return. Nate is stern but loving, teaching Hildy as they explore a Daddy Dom-little girl lifestyle together because he is learning too. But, things are happening back in Skull Valley, and Hildy needs to return, so where will that leave her and Nate? Has her trust and friendship with some people been misplaced?
The new relationship is empowering and freeing, the discipline is strict but loving, and the sexual encounters are dominant and erotic. The love between them is unstoppable.

A wonderful read, great characters and plot so well written, and a wonderful read
This is a simply wonderful read and I loved every moment of this read and I have to say that other readers will be as enamoured with the characters and the plot which as always by this author is written so well.
I warn readers that once you begin reading this book you will not be able to put this book down until you reach the last page and discover what the outcome is, I do not want to spoil the read for others so will be careful about what I say so that I do not spoil the read for others.
Hildey has a habit of falling into disastrous situations and it has nearly cost her life until the day that a very kind, generous ranch owner Nate steps in to help her. He is a very direct and no-nonsense man that will not stand any rubbish from Hildey and she knows it.
She has not had the easiest of pasts and is always wary that something or someone is waiting around the corner to bring everything crashing down around her, so read this wonderful book and discover the outcome for yourself.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Hildy Shanley, had a way with animals it was a sight to see how she is able to understand their angst & is able to calm them down. Hildy lost both her Parents & is working off her debt for their funerals to her distant cousin Elmer Hinchins who owns Dry Creek Ranch which boarders her family’s farm. Elmer Hinchins is constantly threatening Hildy with the debt she owes him, he feels he can make her do anything. That’s how she ended up at the Double B Ranch, owned by Dan & Nate Benn. Elmer Hinchins sent Hildy to collect his bill Jasper all by herself, Hildy’s first meeting with Nate was less then stellar. Nate ordered her to wait for help with Jasper, well she decided if she could use her magic on the bull & communicate with him like she does with the horses. It works & she has Jasper going up the Ramp & a whistle from a distance breaks their connection & the spooks & pins her between the fence & the gate. From that moment on her life is going to change in ways she never imagined. Nate Benn when he interacted with Hildy Shanley & she sassed him, he knew he met his forever; now he needed his head catch up with his heart. There is a mystery to solve with lot’s of twist & turns, will they bring Nate & Hildy together or keep them apart.

An easy read
I can’t remember if this is my first book by this author. I’ve just started reading Daddy Dom series. I think this book gave more insight into the dynamic than others. But the author tends to tell instead of describe. It’s like you have all the facts but little connection. Kind of like watching the news. Trying not to give spoilers…but they end up in a new place for an important event but the whole event is complete glossed over. It should be a time of abject joy but you’re just kind of told they are happy. The story itself would have been sooooo much better if more was described instead of simply stated. Ground breaking revelations were covered in mere lines and the emotions were run through just as quickly. Maybe I’m just expecting too much from these type of books. I’m used to romances that have me by the throat. Romances I can’t put down. Stories that keep me from sleeping. Stories I feel like I need to rush back to like they are going to come off of commercial and I’m going to miss something. If I could get that with this dynamic I would purchase every book in that authors collection. But this just isn’t that. So much potential but it lacks depth, emotion and connection.

This is a wonderful story about this single cowboy brother who longs for what his brother and sister in law have.
Hildy is crushed and injured doing a job at his ranch that should have been done by men.
Seeing her in a vulnerable and fragile state in hospital instantly makes him feel protective.
Helping her recover seems to wake up the Daddy Dom in him and they start a ddlg relationship.
With a stalking cougar, betrayals and plots afoot... Will they be able to deal with what happens together?
This was an instant success for me as I got sucked into the dynamic in the first few pages.
Hildy has been treated so cruelly by someone who is distant family and I am so glad she has Nate looking out for her.
I loved Dan and Annie's relationship which is featured in the background.
Nate is the Daddy we could only hope for and these types of books warm me with emotion.

Good
He found her and helped her and decided he wanted to be her DD .. She fell in love .. She never had a boyfriend or a daddy , her parents died and she has a nasty cousin trying to bully her for her land .. He has been DOM foe a log time and played in clubs .. I don't like that when she gets in trouble his first thought is to call Caitlyn "Cat " a lawyer he used to play with at the club , not realizing that she had feelings for him .. She comes to help Hildy when she gets arrested for arson , but Nate never bothered to tell her how he knew her . I think its bull that after she gets Hildy out of jail Nate goes chasing after "Cat" to tell her again that he's sorry hugs her tight , she rests her head on his chest and kisses his lips and when Hildy gets mad and snakes him , which she had every right to do he gets mad

Hildy is all alone now that her parents are gone, except for her large cat, Sandy. She meets Nate, along with Dan and Annie when she goes to a ranch to pick up a bull for her cousin. Getting hurt there, she ends up staying with them and the confusion starts. Loved the characters and the tight knit friendship that fires up between Hildy and Annie. The storyline has drama, hidden agendas, secrets, surprises, a cougar, a house on fire, hospital visits, arrests, threats and much more. Totally loved the ending and Rick plays his part in things very well. Definitely recommend this fantastic suspenseful romance.

After loosing both her parents, Hildy finds herself at the mercy of her estranged relative, a shady character who holds her family's debt overhead, forcing her to work her debt off and at the same time, trying to pressure her to sell her family home.
When an accident lands her in Nate's arms, Hildy finds her self drawn to the broody cowboy.
Nate also finds himself strongly drawn to Hildy but he recognized she's a Little and at first he fights his attraction because he doesn't believe he is a Daddy Dom but when there is chemistry, there is no fighting their attraction.
This was a nice read but I didn't feel as drawn to either character while reading. Nate felt a little cold at times and Hildy sometimes came off as too childish and immature.
When an accident lands her in Nate's arms, Hildy finds her self drawn to the broody cowboy.
Nate also finds himself strongly drawn to Hildy but he recognized she's a Little and at first he fights his attraction because he doesn't believe he is a Daddy Dom but when there is chemistry, there is no fighting their attraction.
This was a nice read but I didn't feel as drawn to either character while reading. Nate felt a little cold at times and Hildy sometimes came off as too childish and immature.

Nate Benn may be a Dom but he's not a Daddy. Yet from the moment he meets Hildy Shanley he wants to protect her, care for her and be her Daddy.. Hildy is special in several ways the most unique of which is her ability to connect with animals. She's earned a reputation as a horse whisperer but her talent extends beyond horses. As their relationship develops Hildy not only has a Daddy to love her she becomes part of his family and is no longer alone. Now the only problem is her boss who is also a cousin is hellbent on taking her family's home from her. He's up to no good and she's caught in the crosshairs. Nate is equally determined to discover what the man's up to and protect his Little girl because he means for her to be his forever.

I loved this story so much! Great main and side characters, wonderful story and excellent writing.
Hildey is sent by her horrible boss to collect a prized bull for his ranch.
When arriving to the Double B ranch, which is ran by the brothers Dan and Nate Benn, she ends up being trampled by the bull and lands in the hospital with a broken leg. Feeling responsible for her accident, Nate pays for her hospital stay and opens up his home for her to recuperate. When he sees her sleeping in the hospital bed, looking young and vulnerable, he feels the need to look out for her. Hildey has been on her own since both her parents died. When Nate insist on bringing her to his ranch until her leg heals, this is the first time anyone has taken care of her in a long time. Nate was always a dominant person, when he discovers Hildey's Little side, he's willing to be the daddy dom she wants. But troubles are coming and Nate will have to do his best to be the Daddy Hildey needs. A wonderful, delightful story that will leave you wanting more (how about writing Dan and Annie's story Vanessa Brooks?)

Hildy is all alone in a world full of people, thankfully she has a beautiful connection to animals. She finds herself injured at Double B Ranch, all because her horrible boss (and third cousin) sent her to pick up a bull, A BULL.
Nate first meets Hildy after she's been injured and he feels a pull towards her, can he convince her there's something worth exploring.
Nate is a delicious mixture of dominant and softy. Hildy sure does keep him on his toes but he's so gentle with her. He protects her where others have taken advantage.
I will say, I'm so freaking glad the bad guy gets his...I was worried for a little while there.
Nate first meets Hildy after she's been injured and he feels a pull towards her, can he convince her there's something worth exploring.
Nate is a delicious mixture of dominant and softy. Hildy sure does keep him on his toes but he's so gentle with her. He protects her where others have taken advantage.
I will say, I'm so freaking glad the bad guy gets his...I was worried for a little while there.

It's a decent read. A simple love story between Nate & Hildy. The story started strong and I thought it will go into a totally different direction. However, Hildy's injury took into a different and surprising turn of event. The story is promising but I have one note regarding the writing style. There were a lot of direct conversations, that lack the depth and hidden meanings. That made for a less challenging read. Sometimes, it is better to let the readers' imagination work , no need to spoonfed them every single detail. Still enjoyable.

This is another amazing story from Vanessa Brooks. This story features Hildy and Nate. Nate owns a ranch with his brother and after an accident and encounter with Nate Hildy gets a job on the ranch and the two match so well. When the dominant Nate finds out Hldy is a little, he wants her to be his little. The interaction between Hildy and Nate makes this story so special, the trust, the love and their very own special relationship. They both have a big heart in their own way. Definitly a page turner.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Hildy is a special young woman in a tough spot. She is injured while picking up a bull on Nate's ranch. He is a Dom that falls instantly for her but finds she needs the guidance and care of a Daddy also. They have some ups and downs but overall are perfect for each other. There are some phrases and wording that was off, but still a good, short love story.

Vanessa has written a great story about a woman strong enough to take care of herself but in need of someone in her corner. Hildy has always met life head on and gung-ho but when she is injured fetching a bull from another ranch, she discovers Nate. Nate is determined to show Hildy that she is special and worthy of support. This story has several twists and turns and a nasty twist at the end. I enjoyed biting my nails and cheering for the HEA.

What a wonderful story! Poor Hildy, she really needed someone to take care of her. I am a huge fan of this author's writing and this book is another great one. I enjoyed the conservation efforts and I just loved her wild pet. I just had to laugh out loud at that one. And don't get me started on Nate. What a sweetie he is and so perfect for Hildy. If you like your daddy doms sweet, firm, and sexy grab this story.

Excellent story about Hildy who is over her head in debt to a distant relative trying to steal her land and Nate who saves her when she breaks her leg delivering a bull to his ranch. Nate is a dom who, after meeting Hildy, realizes that he is also a daddy dom. Hildy is the little he has been waiting for. Hildy is totally attracted to Nate but unsure if she is a little. This story is romantic and steamy. The plot has a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming. It was a wonderful read!

Her Arizona Daddy Dom features Nate, a dominant who decides to become a Daddy Dom for Hildy, who has unexplored submissive tendencies. Theirs is an insta-attraction and insta-love relationship focusing on spankings. While I liked Nate, I found Hildy way to naive and gullible. There is a bit of supsense as background which adds some depth to the book. Yet overall, I found the storyline fairly unbelievable.

This is the fourth book in the Stateside Doms series and is Hildy and Nate's story. Hildy gets injured on Nate's ranch he owns with his brother, so he feels responsible and takes care of her back at the ranch, where he finds out about her little side and wants to be her daddy. This is a good read and looking forward to reading more from Vanessa Brooks.

Angst, drama, and suspense surround this Dd/lg couple. I love the fact that although our Hero was a Dominant he was still a bit unsure about being a Daddy Dom. On the flip side of that coin, our heroine knew in theory what she thought she'd enjoy, but had little practical experience with. A great addition to the Stateside Doms Anthology.

April 15, 2022I was totally enthralled with this story. the love in this story is mindboggling. The suspense second to none. I enjoyed the characters Dan, Annie, Nate and Hildie were exceptional. Dominance is an awesome thing with the right characters.

Funny, heartwarming and delightful. I loved Hildy and Nate! She is sassy, despite having a vulnerable side. He is strong but gentle. These two are perfect for each other!
