Not gonna lie, this is a hard series to say goodbye to *sad face* but it is what it is.
If you enjoy MC romance fiction stories, this is an author that you should keep up with. Her stories are full of grit and passion that is expertly unfolded and will keep you on your toes. The stories that she brings us are never easy but always worth every second of your reading time!
Well done once again with Scarlett & Ominous! Their character development along with the suspenseful plot development were well done and kept me on the edge from beginning to end! Another aspect I appreciated about this story was the brotherhood of the MC. This particular storyline needed for them to be showcased and it was perfectly executed in my opinion. There’s another really well done plot-point in this story that I can’t go into detail without maybe spoiling something so I will just say it’s sort of a secondary storyline HEA that will just pull every emotion from you and is integral to the growth of Ominous.
I cannot recommend this series and this author enough! I have loved all her MC stories in particular and look forward to many more in the future!
I am so excited to be back in Tampa but at the same time sad because it is the final book of this chapter by Osborn. But we get to see things play out and there are so many twisty moments that are wrapped up in intensely emotional ones to keep you on your toes. My heart ached and screamed as I read this book. Ominous lives up to his road name honestly and there is so much that happens with him that you cannot help but want to hug him. Being paired with Scarlett and seeing how things all play out was pure magic. Osborn has a talent for writing such raw and gritty stories and this final installment of her chapter of The Royal Bastards is just that.
3.75stars—ALLURING ABYSS is the fourth and final instalment in KE Osborn’s contemporary adult ROYAL B*STARDS: TAMPA FL erotic, MC romance series-a part of the multi-authored RBMC series. This is former US Special Forces soldier/MC member Rafe ‘Ominous’ Novak, and bar tender/waitress Scarlett’s story line. ALLURING ABYSS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storylines is revealed where necessary.
Told from three first person perspectives (Ominous, Scarlett, Charli) ALLURING ABYSS focuses on healing and acceptance, and the building romance and relationship between former US Special Forces soldier Rafe ‘Ominous’ Novak, and Scarlett. Approximately six years earlier, while on assignment in Kandahar, Rafe Novak, and humanitarian aid worker Charli McEvoy were the only two survivors of a nighttime attack, an attack that took the life of Rafe’s best friends and Charli’s husband Jed McEvoy. Fast forward to present day wherein Rafe Novak aka Ominous, now a member of the RBMC: Tampa FL MC struggles to move on from the past. Nightmares and PTSD threaten Ominous’s tenuous hold on his sanity and the woman that tugs at his heart but an attack against Scarlett finds Ominous defending the woman with whom he will fall in love, an attack that sends our hero behind bars for the next ninety days but all is not well as Ominous begins to suspect he was the target of the attack, and pushes our heroine out of his life. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ominous and Scarlett, and the fall-out as the past refuses to stay buried and gone.
Rafe Novak’s demons run dangerous and deep, buried beneath the facade of a competent and confident MC member. His attraction to, and need for Scarlett is tempered by his nightly terrors and a past that refuses to let go, a past that is determined to destroy our story line hero. Scarlett and Rafe have danced around one another, their attraction visceral and intense but threats against Rafe have become personal, bringing with them the grief and loss of what was.
The relationship between Scarlett and Rafe is one of immediate attraction but Rafe struggles with the memories and nightmares of death and war, nightmares that begin threaten the life of the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate .
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Charli McEvoy and her daughter Oaklyn; the members of the RBMC Tampa MC including Nycto and Eva, Void and Toxin, Dash and Shadow, as well as a ghost from the past.
ALLURING ABYSS is a story of love and loss, nightmares and war, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and guilt, love and acceptance. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive and hot; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.
This was a read that was emotional and heart-wrenching. From the moment you start turning the pages you felt like crying and for pretty much of the story you felt that way.
The characters of this series are great they are perfect for each of their chosen mates but, for Rafe/Ominus if and when he stops fighting his feeling for the spitfire known as Scarlet he may just have found his chosen mate if only he can hold on to her.
Loved Scarlet from the moment we met her she had this spunk and an amazing personality knowing full well she would be just what Rafe needs perhaps even heal him with her compassion and care and love, that right there is what Scarlet is. Charli, was another of our favorite characters, she, was a beautiful and strong woman and an amazing mom. Toxin seems to be a complicated woman we need to read her story to see what makes her she tick but, from what we gathered so far, that woman is a bada**
The sexy scenes are hot and heavy and the plot engaging and intriguing that brought more than a few surprises. Rafe is overall a big fat marshmallow when it comes to loving Charli and Oaklyn that little girl has him wrapped around her little finger. We loved Oaklyn she was smart and sassy and just a fun character that made you smile and laugh out loud.
Overall, an enjoyable story that goes straight to the heart of the reader. Rafe and Scarlet's journey together of finding love and happiness was a rocky one as Rafe suffers from PTSD and the nightmares still plague him from both war and survivor guilt but, Rafe has found the one woman to heal him if only he finds it in his heart to fight for love and perhaps find the peace and happiness every soldier deserves. So many heart melting moments this story had, and the perfect ending for all those involved...
Straight away I was hooked into this story by the action and drama, then by the dynamics of the lead characters, Ominous and Scarlett. These two are meant to be together—they go together like peas and corn!
Honestly, Ominous is such a great character, one, who after getting to know him better in this book, just makes you like him so much. His heart is so big and he is capable of showing his affections and love but he’s had a tough time since the trauma he faced in the Special Forces. Scarlett is a sassy, fiercely loyal and caring friend who has a soft spot for one special traumatised military man. Luckily, she didn’t give up on Ominous because their chemistry is sizzling hot. Even more important is the fact that Ominous recognises how unique their relationship is and that he should try harder—even with his PTSD.
The brotherhood support and loyalty in this story overflows, and I will be truthful, it makes the story that much better and a tad emotional. There’s nothing like the camaraderie of friends and these are the best of friends. Get ready for some Toxin time! She’s such a terrific character and always makes things exciting. Another absolutely fabulous character is five-year-old Oaklynn who nearly steals the show! She certainly steals some scenes but that’s okay as she is such a little cutie.
Alluring Abyss is a terrific final book in this series even though I want it to continue. 🤣
First lets say PTSD suc*s. I can't even imagine what they and their families have to go through with this. Ominous is one heck of a man, he's loyal to the ones he loves, family and friends. He is part of the Royal Bastards MC out of Tampa, FL. He has their backs as they have his. I love Scarlett, talking about one kick butt woman. She will take whatever Ominous throws at her even when he tries to push her away. He believes the only way to keep her safe from him is to make her believe that she would never be safe with him. When something happens that tears them apart he believes he has finally pushed her away for good. I love that he will do anything to keep his best friends wife and daughter Charli and Oaklyn safe. He made that promise to his best friend when he was killed. Oaklyn is a hoot, she keeps everyone in line. When they find out there is someone out there trying to harm anyone that is in Ominous's life his MC club bring Charli, Oaklyn and Scarlett into their house to keep them safe, then they go hunting. The turn of events that happens next no one sees coming. Can Ominous keep everyone safe from the hunter, we will see. Absolutely love this book. Highly recommend this book.
Great series, I was sorry to see it end but this was fitting for all of the amazing characters.
He'd returned from the desert with a serious case of PTSD, two females he promised to watch out for, and the club. He was a silent brother but he'd finally found a woman who was changing. He didn't deserve her but maybe they'd make it.
She didn't trust easily but he was different. He'd had a rough life but he was gorgeous, beginning to open up, and she wanted to see where they could go together. Things happen that could have ended them but she wanted to continue.
Telling much more will spoil the story for the reader. There are surprises, circumstances that separate them, and threats that put Scarlet at the club meeting and friending the men and women. We get to meet the other females in his life you're guaranteed to fall for one little person--who just might be the next club Prez.
You'll love the loyalty, family--blood, and club--there's action, danger, with lots of heat. The ending is fitting although I'd love to see more. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Ominous has been through so much and even though he has PTSD he has Scarlett in his life who is determined to stay the course as long as he doesn't mess it up even more. Then a danger from the past comes out of nowhere and he stands to lose everything, his girl, his best friend and her daughter.
I really enjoyed this story with the emotional content about the present and the past plus the whole brotherhood within the MC and his previous military life. I loved Scarlett who was strong and sassy and determined to have the life she wanted on her own terms. His best friend's daughter was just adorable (and knew it!). There was a lot of danger, drama and excitement in this book but the ending was all emotions, feelings and thoughts of the future. easy to read, feel and understand. Contains some mature content.
Absolutely disturbing, but in a way that it tickles every fancy you have. A second chance at love for at least two couples. Add an adorable little curly girl child and you have a winner. Brilliantly written as always. Violence, drama and romance makes a good combination. This author will definitely grab your attention. I recommend this book one hundred percent
Ominous has seen so much and been through so much. I was worried he would push Scarlett away. I am so happy that I was wrong. This one had a twist I didn't see coming, but it was a good one! Another amazing book in the series!
The topic of this book is so well approached. There are some really dark parts; gotta love the dark heart of a female "brother" and another brother who let's the red mist take over.
Scarlett and Ominous are amazing!!! Ominous’ story is heart wrenching with what he and Charli went through. But what’s more shocking is what comes at them, Scarlett and the club! A ghost is back from the past and is looking for unjustified vengeance.
All these books have been fantastic but this one is my favourite by far! Ominous has had a rough few years, loosing his team in battle and one of his best mates but life always has a silver lining at some point and Ominous finally finds his with some curve balls on the way to his happiness.
Ominous was in the military special forces, when tragedy strikes his team and others. After he is discharged he joins the Royal bastards and tries to start over. He helps a family of his fallen brother and best friend. Charli and her daughter Oaklyn. When he meets Scarlett things start to change for him, but after a night of passion he has a nightmare and in the misted of her he hurts her. When they try to make a go for again she gets attacked, and Ominous winds up in jail and in process he decides to push Scarlett away. When he finds outs who set him things for him can't any worse. What will happen when to the truth about everything comes out? Will Scarlett and him be able to work things out before it's too late? Who is after Charli and Okalyn and who they do can the save him or will they all parish? This book took hold and page after page gave me all the emotions, lots of tears, laughs, action, and thur it all the one thing that can stand the test of time love and family. These give you everything and the author knows what you need. Can't wait to read what she has next.
Poor Ominous, he's ex-special forces, and he went through hell which still messes with his head all the time. He & Scarlett (aka Red) had finally acted upon their attraction when this story kicked off, but he woke after a nightmare horrified at what he was doing. Scarlett was scared but she sure isn't a shrinking violet so she's not going to let something he can't help ruin everything. You already know he would freak out, and he did, but it lasted all of a day before he was back apologizing. They're perfect together, so they started moving into a real relationship when something bad happened. This is where the twists start coming in hot, and I have to say my mind was blown when the puzzle pieces started falling into place because I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! KE Osborn is so talented at romantic suspense with yummy tortured soul bikers, so not only was my heart in my throat, I also wanted to cry for Ominous & Scarlett. With a fantastic supporting cast who provides some perfectly placed humor (I love me some Toxin) to round it out perfectly, Alluring Abyss is another hit that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
What a fantastic book by this author yet again. It was truly a heartbreaking book that started with special forces in Kandahar and the Sarge/Ominous losing all of his men one of which is his best friend as well. PTSD has hit him hard since his return and joining the RBMC. Now with Scarlett in the picture he fears he might do something to her during one of his episodes but she isn’t going anywhere. He has tried to push her away to keep her safe but that woman is not going anywhere.
Trouble is coming at him from sides and he will do anything to keep Scarlet and his “dead” best friend’s wife and daughter safe. With the club brothers at his back they will help Ominous and the people he loves.
There were twists and turns and surprises that made my head spin. The chemistry between Ominous and Scarlett was intense and I loved how she stayed by his side throughout. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a meaningful and intense MC book.
Alluring Abyss was an emotional storyline that at times was utterly heartbreaking. This was a story that required tissues at hand as you were taken on one affecting ride. Rafe fought his feelings hard for Scarlett which at times drove me insane. Their story is one that is intense and filled with passion and one that touches your heart. This story has you captivated right from the start and the heat and the steam between these two lights a fire. A beautiful heartfelt story that steals a piece of your heart and soul.
Wow. This book has twist and turns, but pulls you in and makes you want to know more. I couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Ominous and Scarlett together, they've always had an attraction but they fought it. Scarlett is there for Ominous through everything that happens. They have ups and downs but they really suit each other.
*wiping my eyes, I'm not crying, you are!! Oh my heart! I had forgotten how much I love this Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC! I am not going to lie, I think this has been the hardest read to date in this series. Ominous has been fighting so many demons as well as fighting his feelings for Scarlett, his fear of him unintentionally hurting her, forever in the forefront. This hurt my heart so much, but Scarlett is a fighter and she is not giving up on her man. Then Ominous past comes back to haunt him in more ways than one, but this time, he is the one fighting. With his brothers at his back he is determined to win. Sweet baby Jesus!!! What a read!!
Loved this book. Starts with a hook up that turned into something more and not necessary a good thing. The thing is that Red "Scarlett" understood what was happening. She knew that she messed up but she didn't know his history. Once she found out she fine with it and wanted more. Oh she got what wanted later down the road. Ominous had been military and while overseas and he was in charge he lost all of his men. Since they was protecting aid workers they were more important than their buddy's. He even lost his best friend that he grew up with.
After he joined the Royal Bastards MC and was helping his buddy's wife and child and starting to want more with a woman he ended up in jail... he was trapped and someone from his past is out to get him and any other female in his life. Who after all this time is setting him up and out to hurt him any way possible.

I love KE Osborn's take on the Royal Bastards! (Sad it seems this might be it). This one concentrates on the main couple but has POVs from others which really adds to this. Some twists that you don't see coming and it really talks through PTSD those in combat have to deal with. Emotional at times with some steam thrown in...this is a great MC read.
The book was good. Good characters and plot. I didn't care for it as much as the previous books in this series. It seemed more about multiple couples than the two main characters. It was still enjoyable and I am sorry that this is the last book of this series. The series has been awesome!
Honestly Ominous and Scarlett’s story is one of the best I have ever read. The characters are so complex and they face complex challenges, intrigue and craziness. Keeps you wondering what will come next - absolutely never a dull moment. This author weaves her magic giving you a hero and heroine that you will root for from the beginning while dealing with real life issues like PTSD and survivors’ guilt. Truly a heart tripping romance♥️♥️
Book four in the Royal Bastards MC Tampa Ch. One heartbroken story with a perfect end. Ominous has everything but the peace of mind. He lost his world in the special forces. Now his trying to take his life back. Scarlett is one special girl. She won’t let Ominous walk away easy. She fights him at every turn. He thinks he knows best. He’s so wrong. She was made for him. To heal him and make him whole. The love she bring to him is so beautiful.
RBMC book 4 while each book follows one couple, you do get cross over from other characters in other books. What else can these men get into? Loaded question lol lots and ever bit of it has been more enjoyable than the last.
This book was an awesome read that had me hooked from the first page. It moves along at a great pace, has amazing characters and a great story. This book needs to be read and at the top of your TBR list, no doubt about it.
I’m in love with the series and I’m SOOO sad that this is the last book in the series. This isn’t the first MC book I’ve read from K. E. Osborn or any author but it’s completely different from every other MC book that I’ve read.
It has been awhile since I read the first two book’s but it honestly didn’t take me long to remember what previously happened with the first two stories/couples and was glad Scarlett and Ominous were the last two to get their HEA. But, add in Charli McEvoy Ominous’s best friend and a HUGE part of his backstory.
We start off six years earlier when Ominous was known as Rafe Novak was a US Special Force soldier. He was in charge and him and his guy’s had their guard down and they were ambushed. Rafe and Charli a humanitarian aid worker were the only ones to get out alive and out of everybody that didn’t make it out one was Jed. Charli’s husband and Rafe’s best friend. It turned out Charli was pregnant and she didn’t get the chance to tell Jed before he passed away and Rafe swore to protect Charli and her daughter Oaklyn.
Six years later and Rafe has joined the Royal Bastards MC Tampa Florida and goes by the name Ominous. He’s still close with Charli and Oaklyn but Scarlett has entered the picture. She works as a bartender at the bar and she’s been pursuing him for awhile now. Ominous has tried pushing her away for awhile but he’s finding it harder & harder to stay away. Ominous is worried that with his PTSD he’s afraid he’ll hurt her physically.
But, after talking about it with Charli he realizes if Scarlett isn’t willing to run away from him even knowing & seeing it firsthand then he shouldn’t fight it.
Scarlett wants Ominous. She’s seen him when he’s laughing and smiling and she’s seen him at his complete worst and yet she loves and wants him the same amount. Now that he’s not pushing her away and they’re both in their enjoying life. Until she was attacked and her stood up for her and got sent to jail for 90 days and he pushed her away completely and she keeps being told it’s for her safety. Either way she won’t give up on them.
They originally thought she was the target until Ominous comes face to face with the person behind it and he’s legit looking at a ghost. A ghost that’s haunted him the last six years. Ominous will do whatever he has to in order to protect the three ladies in his life that he loves and cares about more than anything in the world.
OMG I legit couldn’t put this book down once I opened it and I’m so upset it’s ending but excited to see what K. E. Osborn releases next.
I can never find enough superlatives to describe how KE Osborn makes me feel when I read, no experience, her words. ALLURING ABYSS, the fourth and final book in the Royal Bastards MC: Tampa series, was the perfect finale for the characters we met. It was also one of the hardest emotionally. Rafe 'Ominous' Novak and Scarlet 'Red' Lapointe share a heartbreaking tale, and I just wanted to wrap my arms around both.
"I don't deserve to be happy. And honestly, I don't deserve her. Not at all - she's too good for me."
From the very first chapter Ominous' story touched my heart. Here was a strong, caring, and loving man constantly waging war with PTSD, causing him to believe that he didn't deserve what others had in their lives ... happiness. He would always put others ahead of himself, including the one woman who only wanted to love him ... Scarlet. She would have to be my favourite heroine KE Osborn has written. A tough cookie who wasn't afraid to push Ominous or challenge him at every turn, even when he was trying to push her away. He feared for her safety, both from himself and an unknown danger. Scarlet and Ominous shared an electric chemistry and always delivered an undeniable heat when they were together. They shared a "crazy" between them like no other couple.
"You're a little crazy, you know that?" "Yeah, but you like my crazy." "Yeah, Red. I adore your crazy."
There was so much that I enjoyed about this book. The brotherhood of the MC, the friendships between the women, Charli, Ominous' best friend and her adorable daughter Oaklyn, the trust, loyalty, and love that this extended family had for one another. Beneath the shadows danger lurked, one that brought much drama and anxiety, suspense gradually building and revealing a perpetrator who was completely unexpected.
With the ending of this book, KE Osborn brings about the perfect ending to this series. Once again, she promised and delivered a spellbinding story. I cannot wait to see what's next from this amazingly talented author.
