The year is 1966. Ten years after her terrifying experience in Switzerland, Sister June is trying to live a quiet, uneventful life at the convent in England. When she discovers that Sister Margaret is dying, however, she begins to catch glimpses of a shocking secret from the convent's past.
Dark forces are reaching out to Sister Margaret in her final moments, and the ghostly figure of a missing woman stalks the convent's corridors. What really happened to Sister Rose when she disappeared many years ago, and why does her spirit seek revenge? The answers can be found deep beneath the convent, where an even deadlier secret waits for its chance to escape.
The Second Veil is the second book in the Chronicles of Sister June series. Each book tells a self-contained story, although readers are advised to start with the first book.

Sister June continues her world of the naive little nun.
I'm not sure if I even liked this book. Not sure I will get the next. Its the same as first. Innocent Sister June. No matter what she sees, she denies it and hangs onto her faith. If the novella was a combined book ....
Many years after the events in the mountains, Sister June is still traumatized by what she had survived. She is the keeper of some secrets of the Order. When her protector, the mother superior, is at the doors of Hell, she is brought to cross the rode of the fanatic cult acting in secret in her coven and an ancient ally she's not sure she can trust... Entertaining but the big naivete of Sister June still makes me want to slap her reason in each page lol!
Further into the 'adventures' of Sister June, this instalment reveals more information about the story as a whole, and though June is still incredibly naive, there is also an inner strength. Her faith is strong but she continues to deny the truth of things.
The bear character is fascinating and it will be interesting to see where that goes.
The plot itself was interesting, but GOODNESS i cannot stand Sister June. Her inability to accept what is, quite literally, happening in front of her own eyes is downright annoying. I thought maybe her character would be better in this second book, but i was very wrong. Am i still going to read the third book? Yes. I’m in too deep at this point. I just hope Sister June stops acting like an imbecile.
The story continued and it was 1966 and June had been back home in her Convent of St Jude for 10 years, since her escapades in Switzerland. But all was not sweetness and light. They were being plagued by some form of destructive beast that was wading through their fences and hedges as if they were tiny little obstacles, and some of the nuns were being very aloof when Sister June entered the room.
A second book in this series. Has a very good storyline and characters after the things that occurred in Switzerland , Sister June is sent back to her convent St Jude’s.
The mysteries found in this book are presented in such a way that it truly difficult to put down until all your questions are answered. And Sister June is a fascinating, powerful character!
Sister June is quite awesome at handling the normal and the supernatural. The werebear has been a lot of fun in this story. Comedic at times and a vicious fighter at others.
