A Picture Perfect Love

Rate this book
Photographer Zuri Simpson has given up on love for herself, but she still believes it can be found for everyone else. The hopeless romantic uses her photo booth to set strangers up for blind dates, but she’s never considered using it for herself—until one of her clients gets stood up.

Mayan Smith has always wanted love and a family of his own. Unfortunately, his playboy reputation from his younger years has made it almost impossible for him to find a suitable wife in the small town of Hibiscus Hills. When his future sister-in-law mentions a photo booth blind date, the adventurous ex-basketball player is all in.

For Zuri, adding matchmaker to her resume was supposed to be a fun way to get new clients and increase her income… Falling in love was nowhere on her to-do list. Will Zuri’s health and past experiences cause her broken heart to reject all that Mayan has to give, or will she allow him to gift her with a picture-perfect love?

I appreciated the realness of Zuri’s experience, as someone who knows and understands the lows of fibroid issues! Those trash ass men in her life, who led her to believe that she was less than, made me so angry!🤬 Along came Mayan, who breathed faith, hope and love into her, changing her whole existence! Mayan was intentional in his pursuit of Zuri, as he loved her beyond her insecurities! What a beautiful story! 👍👍👍

LOVED IT

I can definitely relate to Zuri in this book when it comes to Fibroids. It is not only painful physically but it can affect your mental as well. Feeling like your not good enough. Mayan he was that breath of fresh air and immediately became attracted to Zuri. He's truly one of a kind. I loved his patience, understanding and willingness to help Zuri in any way possible. Just when you think there is no hope, your least expected miracle happens. I was so happy for her and Mayan. Although a short read, it held so much emotion to it. Highly recommend reading

I can’t believe to say how much I loved this book. It was my first read of 2025 and I am blown away. B. Love just WOWWWW! I resonated with some of this story and honey if the book can have me crying then you know it’s a good read. Mayan is being listed as my first Book Husband of 2025. I absolutely loved how he loved her and how he handled her as you navigated through her trauma. Just read it! Glad I picked this as book 1 of the year. Now excuse me while I finish crying 🥹🥹

Loved it!

As a women who suffered from fibroids, I felt Zuri's pain. Luckily I was past the stage she was in but still. Mayan, Jesus, they don't make men like him in real life-at least I haven't found one. The patience, love, and understanding he gave Zuri brought tears to my eyes. This was a quick read but it packed so much. I can't wait to read more about Hibiscus Hills.

Mayan is Bae for real. He helped Zuri overcome so much by just being there for her in which her exes failed to do. This book had me from the beginning and I loved it.

Such a quick sweet read about two people finding the love they deserve. I love a good book when the man falls first. It will make me swoon every time. They do fall in love fast and if you don't like that then this isn't for you. The topics in this book can be too heavy for some so please check your trigger warnings.

* Side note, that authors letter in the beginning had me in tears.

😩😩😩😩
I really didn't want to review this book.
So, this story was personal to the author...and I didn’t like it. Not because it was personal to her, but because the plot was really good, but the delivery was off to me. Mayan met Zuri after his "blinddate" didn't show up. He asked her out instead and they talked and got to know one another all night. And Zuri just opned up and did a lot of oversharing....on the first night. Mayan on the other hand was just coming on so strong. It didn't seem real.
What I did like, was how Mayan was all about finding a wife. He was just over his singleness. Everything he did was for his future wife. It was refreshing to see a man feeling this way. He was adamant about finding his wife and he dove head first into Zuri. It definitely felt like he was more into her than she was into him. But over all, I felt like the author had enough plot/content to give the story substance, but she kept everything at a surface level. But I looovveddd the vulnerability she displayed by telling part of her story. Thank you for that❤

Hibiscus Hills

Oh I fell in love with Myan and Zuri's love story. Just the way love just happens upon you because you least expect it. Yes, you may have to eat a few rotten apples to finally end up with the sweet juicy one. I loved her transparency with her personal issues and can appreciate her pain she endured. I'm glad finally that we as women, well some of us, can finally openly discuss some women issues that we had to suffer in silence with. You can't help but to fall in love with someone who is willing to listen, not judge, give you space to digest everything that affects you so you don't make a snap decision, and be okay with your decision one way or the other. And oh yes, the bomb sex and not let the relationship be mainly about sex. Oh yes, I'll take Mayan any day

Beautiful Story ❤️

First let me say, B. Love, thank you for sharing such a private part of your personal journey.❤️ You didn't have to, but it made me treasure Zuri and her journey even more. Mayan's words to Zuri on their first date were so profound and seemed to unlock Zuri's heart so she could open herself up to love again. And what a love Mayan had for her. That he loved her simply for her heart and spirit and not because of potential children was the breath of fresh air Zuri needed. Their first trip together was EVERYTHING!🙌🏾🔥😁 This was a wonderful story and I'm looking forward to more great stories from Hibiscus Hills!

Snapshot

I enjoyed this story. The reality of living with fibroids is so common. I did not understand the struggle until I was living with it. There is so much to unpack and gain from this short story. Even though the authors has a trigger warning, the story is so passionately written that those triggers may not cause any trauma.

Mayan was a man on a mission and demonstrated how invested a man will become when he wants a woman. He took the time to learn and understand Zuri, while showing her that he was worth a chance. Zuri, the boss chic that she was had some deep wounds. She accepted the challenge to live a better life and to fall in love.

STOP PLAYING AND LET'S GO!!!!!

The only thing different about this book I would've liked more is if you had expounded on the journey and experiences of her actual pregnancy journey..We traveled the road of her belief she wasn't able to conceive...Reading about her and Mayan during that time would've enhanced the appreciation for the people you crafted...The best part felt brushed over and rushed..Mayan reaction to the baby's heartbeat and kick...He was so attentive and present in dealing with her condition.. Definitely looked forward to reading him in that space....Need more so let's go book two...

Sis help me out

So what do I need to get you to bring these men to life to me bc MAYAN has me swooning! I love him! I love his momma and daddy too! I loved that Zuri didn't put up a fight and let him love her. She had been so mishandled that she view of herself mirrored how she'd been treated so for her to open up was major strength!

I'm sorry for the portion of Zuri that is a slight or spot on resemblance of your personal experiences. I'm praying for you. I appreciate you using your scars to heal others! Thank you for your gift

A Picture Perfect Love

Mayan and Zuri’s journey was everything. From how they met to baring their truths and pasts to each other cut out all the fluff. There is nothing like mature love and trust in a story especially dealing with the issues of fibroids and conceiving. Loved how the subject was handled on these pages! There was an ex who tried to show up but he was a few years too late. The best he could do was bring the closure that Zuri needed. Looking forward to more stories from town of Hibiscus!

I LOVE Me Some HIM!!!!

OMG…. I LOVE Mayan! I need me a Mayan ASAP….he was literally EVERYTHING. The way he loved, supported, spoke life and positive affirmations into Zuri was the best. He is absolutely SWOON worthy….I felt for Zuri and what she went through and for ALL the women who struggle with fibroids (I have family members that have them, to varying degrees. They affect them all differently). I’m so glad Mayan showed her what REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE looked like. I can’t wait to EXPERIENCE that and give that back to MY person!!!! This book gave me ALL the feels :)

All it takes is the right one

Zuri had a good heart that seemed to have been broken way to many times by all the wrong men . Based on her past she made up her mind that even though she was a Romantic at heart she was removing herself from the game of love.
Who knew that arranging a blind date for two clients would lead to her meeting the man that would give her a totally different view on love, life and herself .
Mayan was truly the right man that was able to give her everything she had ever dreamed of.

This was a very enjoyable read ❤️

Absolutely Beautiful!!

As a woman who suffered from fibroids but found a man who loved me through it all, I LOVED this story! The heartache, the pain, and ultimately the God wink from the Universe that she had finally met a man who was worthy of her ultimate expression of her love for him…a baby.

Thank you for writing about a very real condition like uterine fibroids and the very real issues that can affect the woman’s physical health, mental health, emotional health, and her relationships. This is an excellent read!

The beginning was a little slow for me but as it went on things started to get better. I love how Zuri was honest with herself and how she was starting to heal from the past. What really helped was having a man come into her life not to change her but to be patient and understanding with her. He made her better and was not one to be negative but lift her up. Things worked out for the better and in gods timing she and Mayan had their little Evangeline.

Vacay Read

This is a perfect book to read while laying by the pool, at the beach or while traveling. It’s a quick read that’ll have you tuning out everything. From the first page you’ll fall in love with these characters. Many women can relate to Zuri’s story and struggles. Mayan was almost to good to be true! Only thing I would have loved some drama and crazy to draw their story out more. It would’ve been nice to have more but quick reads are just that quick!

I absolutely loved reading this book!! I absolutely loved Mayan and Zuri. The romance in here was top tier. I like how they didn’t take forever to connect and fall in love. Mayan knew what he wanted and he went after it… he was determined to prove to Zuri that he could build up her heart again . That trip out of town was exactly what Zuri needed to open up and really get to know him !!! I definitely give it a 10/10

such an amazing book, 10/10 would recommend reading. I love how the author went in depth about infertility issues, i don’t suffer from them but i give my heart to every woman who does it doesn’t make you any less special or less of a woman. I loved childbirth and I wish every woman could experience it no matter what they say it’s possible. If i could give my body to make another woman happy i definitely would! There’s a Mayan for every Zuri out there, never settle for less 🫶🏽

In God's timing

Zuri and Mayan were definitely meant for each other. No matter what struggles you may have in life and if man says no just remember that God always has the final say. I think with Zuri she had to go through her patch of frogs but at the end, she found her King in Mayan. I know Eric had some nerve at the end trying to get back with her because she was happy and living her best life with her new man. Great read

My story

Often times things do not work out how we planned it. But God.......Gods plan is way bigger and far more rewarding than any plan we made for ourselves.
This book touched home but miracles happen at the least expectant moment. You will get your heart desire. Not every person serves a purpose, lesson and season of your life.

Real life struggles explored in a genuine way that helped me understand some of struggles some women may face in life, in love. I had a front seat to seeing Mayan and Zuri budding relationship and it was beautiful. The right person brings out the perfect and best part in you. I hope Rumi will have a book cause I loved her direct and to the point attitude. A MUST READ!
