A good story, entertaining, good storyline, plenty of action. This is the second in the Taurean Warriors Series and I had no trouble understanding how the storyline was unfolding, even though I had not read the first book.

This sci-fi romance was quite enjoyable. The hero was a little bit too much community property for my liking, but he was personable and sympathetic despite that. The heroine was deeply sympathetic. The world building was well described, with the military details coming to life. There was a touch of political intrigue and plenty of action and danger to hold my interest. I recommend this sci-fi romance and look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is the second book in the series and I haven’t read the first. This story was great, I will definitely be reading the first one. So, the heroine is a short curvy genius that has a phobia to overcome while saving the world with the awesome very tall alien. They work together while you can feel the heat building up to their climax. She has a confidence problem and so does he each for different reasons. There is great world building for the book and series. Both the main characters were likable and relatable. The sex was super hot. And of course a HEA. I recommend this book and plan to read the first and next one out.

“Give her what you can and then let her go so she can be happy.”

I almost gave this book a three star rating and to be honest, 3 1/2 stars is more accurate. The reason I rounded up and not down is because, despite the many flaws, I really loved the main characters and the basic plot.

T’arq was intriguing as for once we have a hot alien warrior who’s charming and flirtatious rather than dark and intense. Krystal was interesting as well, especially being a super smart engineering nerd. I smiled thinking about her carrying a step stool everywhere. I really liked them both and thought they were a great match. They seemed to bring out the best in each other and clearly had amazing chemistry.

The basic plot, bad aliens planning to take over the galaxy and destroy Earth, led to some exciting space battles. I liked that the enemy was a real threat and not easily defeated.

The problems with this book are many. While the main characters were wonderful they were also inconsistent and often contradicted themselves from scene to scene like the author forgot what she had written before. Sometimes there were hints at something that later was ignored or downplayed, their back and forth feelings seemed too contrived, and even physical descriptions were inconsistent. For example, T’arq’s hair various times is described as floppy, long locks, soft strands but then in one scene it says his hair is a jumble of curls. Krystal is the one with curls but they are described as around her shoulders in one scene but then down to her mid chest in another. There are plenty of other examples, this is just one.

The biggest problem with this book, though, is the writing itself just isn’t that great. It feels forced and, while using grammatically correct, it doesn’t really flow. Fiction writing, especially romance fiction, is usually elegant and emotional. It’s like a beautiful watercolor painting. Non-fiction writing is decisive and matter-of-fact, like a photograph or a pen and ink drawing. The writing in this book is very similar to non-fiction writing. It sometimes made it hard to really immerse myself in the story. Also, as this is only the second book in the series, there was an awful lot that seemed to be references to earlier books that wasn’t explained properly, leaving me confused at times. There’s no way all of it was in book one. There were too many supporting characters that were undefined and I couldn’t keep straight who was who. I suspect a lot was set up and foreshadowing for future books but it was too much, too soon, and instead came across as a jumbled mess. Finally, the end was disappointing. Yes, they got their HEA. But it was too quick and too simple. They overcame their issues and got together too easily. To me, there are still many unanswered or only partially answered questions about each other lingering. They seemed to ignore or forget too much that came before, especially about T’arq.

Despite my misgivings and the problems with the book I’m still happy I read it and will probably read at least one or two more. Hopefully the writing will improve. I’m also curious as to where the war with the Xakul will go and how they are ultimately defeated. While I felt we didn’t get enough information about them in this book, they do seem formidable and terrifying and I want to see what happens next.

🔥 “I never say things I don’t mean, Krystal. But if I have to convince you, I will. I will worship you until you believe me.”
~~~
T’arq is one cocky and confident male with quite the reputation. I’ve loved him from the moment I met him in book one. He’s one strong, direct, fiercely protective warrior. He’s so charismatic and easy to love and he made me laugh quite a lot. But there is so much more to him than his playboy façade. T’arq is so thoughtful, caring, kind and honorable. And he’s quite the romantic if you ask me. Oh, and that dirty mouth of his! He’s absolutely magnificent and I adored every single thing about him!
And Krystal was so amazing! I completely fell in love with that shy and nerdy engineer. I loved her brilliant mind and her bravery to face all the dangers thrown her way. She’s been through so much and now has to deal with a lot of anxiety, but I loved that beneath her timid nature, there is a strong and feisty woman that is not afraid to stand up for herself.
Everything that happened between Krystal and T'arq was so wonderful. Their attraction was really strong from the moment they met, but there was a lot of denial and hesitancy between them. But they were such a magnificent team and their chemistry was undeniable. I really loved their banters and teasing. But what I loved most was how very observant T'arq was and noticed even the smallest details regarding Krystal. And the way he was always there for her and helping her deal with her anxiety. Those two were just perfect for each other! And when they finally gave in to their feelings, the passion they shared was off-the-charts hot!
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! All the twists and everything happening with the Xakul kept me glued to the pages till the very end. And I’m becoming more and more fond of these Taurean warriors with each new book.
Overall, the story is another marvellous addition to the series. It’s filled with non-stop action, danger, epic battles, twists, drama, humor, scorching hot romance and spectacular characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every single page of it! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I absolutely loved this fast paced second entry to the Taurean Warrior Series because it generated all the right feel good reactions, I enjoy in a story that keeps a reader thoroughly engaged.
Sub- Commander T’arq Qu’Ross and Krystal the leads of this storyline met during her sister Laila’s wedding to Commander Zac Qu’Rell the lead characters from book #1 who also make appearances in this story.
With Krystal now on board the Military Starship Zataras serving as their human civilian contractor the attraction between her and T’arq is becoming very evident. T’arq though doesn’t want to pursue a relationship with Krystal because he “doesn’t do relationships” and knows that way lays disaster for them both. Krystal whose been warned by her sister that T’arq gets around and is trouble feels Laila is being too overprotective and is tired of being treated like a child which of course doesn’t stop her from desiring the HOT warrior regardless of his reputation. Well, you and I know about those best laid plans which often have a way of going south when we least expect it! Lucky for these two they do as a fantastic story soon begins to emerge in the pages of this perfectly written narrative of action, thrills and nail-biting intense moments.
When they are assigned to a test flight mission together, I loved how T’arq soothed Krystal’s fear of flying while later on in the story I loved their first bedroom encounter because shy Krystal wasn’t so shy, and those scenes were SUPER HOT! While some of her verbal interactions with T’arq had me laughing out loud, MEOW. (You’ll see when you get there)
This book was just the perfect Sci-Fi Romance read and I’m definitely going to be visiting this wonderful couple and mesmerizing story again in future. Can’t wait for the next book!
Highly Recommended!!!
Has Sub Commander T’arq Qu’Ress finally ready to hang up his playboy life style and reputation for the woman that challenges him and drives him crazy with desire all at the same time even though she is off limits. Krystal just wants to be treated like an adult and with her sister Laila who’s mate is Commander Zac of the starship Zataras who brought her from earth for a better life but she cannot have one because everyone wants to tell her want to do and how since Laila caught her flirting with T’arq the biggest playboy she tells her to stay away from him but Krystal cannot stop thinking and dreaming about him and knows that there is more to him and his job that that he is keeping secret. T’arq overhears Laila warning Krystal not to get involved with him because he will only hurt her by moving on to the next male or female that takes his fancy but he would never hurt Krystal like that because she is special to him. Now they have to work together over the cloaking device and fix the problems that have come up and this is where Krystal out shines everybody else because this is her passion circuits and codes and while away from the ship doing simulations they stumble upon the evil Xakul base that’s hidden on an astroid belt, and let say they are saved in the nick of time but there feelings for each other has changed now after what they went through and crossing the line now only makes sense because they are fated mates and it’s taken this turn of events to make T’arq realize she is the one for him. Can he stay true to his mate and can she be everything he wants and needs, to get these answers and so much more just get this book I know you won’t be disappointed.
I really enjoy the alien/human stories and this one did not disappoint. It can be read as a standalone and I really appreciated how the author worked in explanations from the first book (which I hadn't read) so that everything made sense. She did a great job explaining the context of the alien environment in a way that was concise and entertaining.
Krystal was terrific. An awkward heroine looking for a place to shine. T'arq likes her from the start but with his reputation as a player (I love how aliens have those, too) they are both hesitant. I really liked how T'arq talked to her and worked with her. He was so gentle and patient. Plenty of chemistry between them and T'arq had just the right touch of arrogance to make him fun and not obnoxious.
Great story. I'm looking forward to the next one!.
T'arq and Krystal . . .
Sub-Commander T’arq Qu’Ross was a playboy – yes, apparently even aliens have those types of males. He and Krystal Storey meet originally through her sister’s wedding. They meet again and are attracted to each other. But T’arq doesn’t try to fool her because it is well known he doesn’t engage in serious relationships. Their personalities are also very difficult, T’arq being playful and Krystal being serious and terrified of flying – did I mention he was a space pilot? (I hope you already see the fun paths the author can take to entertain us!)
I enjoyed both characters very much, and the world building was done well. Can T’arq protect Krystal from danger? Will the two of them become closer on their mission? Or will they be unable to survive this one?
In my review for the first book I gave it a 3.5 star rating and I stand by it. The second book definitely deserves more.
I hate leaving a series unfinished when I start one, so I vowed to continue reading it, despite my earlier review.
Alien Seduction continues not far from where book one left us and this time we get T'arq and Krystal as our love interests.
I found I was more invested in these two characters compared to Zac and Laila. Not entirely sure why, but it felt like it was much easier to get sucked into their story.
This was another action-packed episode and it did really well to built up suspense and drama.
I finished this book intrigued by what is to come in book three
A Good Read
Another good read in this series. I just love when a “bad boy” bites the dust when he finds his one and only and this story didn’t disappoint. Not only was the romantic angle well executed the space battles were as well with neither overwhelming the other one. The only down side (I only mention this because I’m a language nerd with OCD tendencies) is that this book wasn’t as well edited as the first one. Proofreading was a bit sloppy this time around unfortunately. Maybe the publication was rushed? Don’t really know. Regardless, it was still a good read overall. I will definitely want to read the next book and, based on my overall enjoyment of this book and the one before it I look forward to any other books, past or future, this author may write.
Melody does it again! Book 2 was as good if not better than the first with budding relationship between T'arq and Krystal. The heat was on spot and I loved every minute of it. Melody showed us more of Taurus and the Taurean Warriors. The world building and character growth from book 1 was further developed. It was intriguing to really see this world through her eyes. I can't say enough amazing things about the second book and can't wait for the third one! :)
This book was a wild ride and I loved it from beginning to the end! T'arq and Krystal might seem like opposites but their off-the-charts attraction was scintillating and their journey to HEA was one action-packed, steamy adventure. From alien battles to hot-hot-hot steamy scenes, I couldn't put this book down.
T'arq is a soldier that denies he needs love. He thinks he's not worthy of love. Krystal is a smart need that feels like a man like T'arq is out if her league. But with an evil race of bug like aliens threatening them and the human race, they work together to battle against them. As they work vclosely together the allow their feeling for each other to emerge. Love this slow burn hot romance.
Completely sucked into this book from the first chapter! Krystal, the curvy heroine who is a bit of a workaholic and low on experience with men, but she definitely grows a bit of a backbone throughout the story. T’arq, the male mc has a bit of a reputation for enjoying females as often as possible and never having a relationship. I absolutely loved their story and the plot in this book was amazing. The spice came around and I was absolutely for it! Highly recommend!
The author again gives us interesting characters who show strength, adaptability and cunning. The storyline has the pilot and the electronics nerd going on a mission together, developing a relationship with trust and great dialogue. Loved their chemistry and sass. Good ending and really look forward to the next book.
Scrumptious
I enjoyed this second book in the series because the action keeps coming. The romance that grew between Krystal and T’arq was magical, humorous and just plain scrumptious to read about and see unfold. The space battles were exciting and overall I really enjoyed the book. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.
An amazing sci-fi story with a slow burn romance! And when the romance gets going, it's spicy 🥵! This book is part of a series but would he read as a standalone - but highly recommend reading the whole series! Such great world building and character development. The scifi storyline is epic - this could definitely be a tv show!
Ok
Story was just ok. Characters were not very interesting. Female character spent her time complaining she was treated like a child when in fact she acted like a child. Even down to her underwear having kittens on them. Oh please, not cute. Sex scenes were not steamy but very formula. The only thing missing was "oh you are so big"and " oh you are so tight". Flat and boring.
Wasn't anything special
This is a solid alien romance, yes there was some tense battle scenes but honestly it was a pretty normal romance story. Guy (alien) meets girl (human), guy really likes girl, girl isn't sure about guy. Guy proves himself (sorta), a bit of fun then girl is hurt, guy doesn't know what to do. Girl and guy work it put and happily ever after. Haha it was good but not special. It took me 3 hours or so to read.
Short and sweet sci-fi romance with alien smut, need I say more?
While this book is technically part of a series it was easy to read and understand without reading anything else prior to it.
4.5 stars. T’arq, the male alien lead, has a playboy reputation. Krystal, the female human lead, is a short curvy nerd who gets tongue-tied around people, especially T’arq. Given she’s T’arq’s best friend’s wife’s sister and he’s not good for relationships, she’s out of bounds but, when a mission goes sideways and they need to work together, he realises just how much he wants a true relationship, with her…
This story is dual POV, well written, and a gorgeous story. I empathised with the discomfort both lead characters felt and enjoyed the individual and relationship growth under trying circumstances. I also appreciated the engagement of secondary characters and their integration into a friendship group, as well as the intimate scenes - T’arq’s mouth is hot and filthy. This story stands alone but is enhanced by reading others in the series.
