Ruin & Avalee (Virtue): triggers- drugs, assault, domestic abuse, child abandonment. Boom - while there's no exact mention of “the BOOM” or that it was love at first sight, it's more or less implied and then mentioned as an afterthought at the end of the book. With as many of the Mason's there are mentioned in the story, you would think someone would have mentioned it. However, that brings me to the next point. Characters from original “Until Him/Her” series- there are several characters within the story but they're more there as sideline characters. They aren't important to the story. For example, July and Ellie are said to be Avalee’s best friend but we didn't actually learn that until the epilogue even though they are referenced by name only in chapter 2. And for them to be best friends, there's no real interaction with them in the book. I'll say it again, merely mentioning the character's names does not connect them to the story or the story to the series. 🤦🏾♀️. The dilemma- so I felt that there are multiple dilemmas in this book. I'm not going to list them but I felt like the main dilemma was definitely resolved. Others were more so a chain reaction and one of them I felt needed a bit more, either a bigger confrontation or more clarification. I just felt like that person didn't answer for what they did. I'm also questioning how her family was able to move her so fast without her knowing, which doesn't make sense. My family moved around a lot when I was a kid and I'll tell you when it was time to move, there's no way you didn't know it was happening and not in that short amount of time. There's some consistency issues I found with timing. For example, they would take selfies in front of the pizza place but when she went to college, she used a folding paper map. There's too much time between using paper maps and taking selfies on the technology timeline for that to make sense. But hey, anything is possible. 🤣🤦🏾♀️. The story is good, very dramatic and a touch steamy but do I feel like it belongs in the “Until Him/Her” series and the “Happily Ever Alpha” world ?, almost.
