Thomas Scott is the bestselling author of the award winning Virgil Jones Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Series, set in the heartland of the Midwest. Thomas lives in northern Indiana with his lovely wife, Debra, his children, and his trusty sidekick and writing buddies, Lucy, the cat, and Buster the dog, where he is hard at work on the next Virgil Jones novel.
Scott has a tremendous way of weaving a story, clever and humorous and serious at the same time. The ONLY fault or objection I have is the way the situation with the two doctors in Rosie’s backseat was handled, or described. There was no ambiguity about it. It clearly described their burning and Rosie’s comment to Ross.
“Beyond the pain they were already experiencing, Ross and Rosencrantz felt the heat immediately as it began to consume them. Tom Rosencrantz looked at his partner and friend, Andrew Ross, and managed to say, “Sorry.”
I think this scene was inexcusable and poorly constructed and written. I totally understand the intention and would have appreciated the suspense except for the fact that it left no doubt in my mind.
And one could NEVER mistake it to be an effect of being injected.
I have absolutely loved this series, and somehow it just keeps getting better and better, which you'd think would be difficult since all of the stories are amazing. One of the things that has kept me coming back to this series is the awesome characters and their crazy antics and humor. I know that it's a mystery thriller series, but it all just works together seamlessly. It's definitely a must read for everyone who enjoys a fantastic thriller. This story had a lot of close calls, as well as losses. I know that's expected due to the type of work they do, but it's still difficult knowing how much family means to them. I am very thrilled that there will be more books in the future, and can't wait for the next release! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
Virgil and his crew never get old. I’m always on the seat of my pants trying to follow along to see how they solve the case. These characters feel exactly like family. I know that I’ll worry, laugh, cry, experience shock and pray that in the end, the bad guys will be found and punished.
As great as this story is, my heart seriously broke twice. It just proves again that these characters jump off of the page and into the reader’s heart.
Well, Virgil is at it again. Chasing down the crooks and bad guys with Murton and all the other characters A real action mystery that adds two new characters to the MCU and takes away an old, familiar friend But the bad guys lose and the good guys win which is all Virgil wants to do.
It seems forever since the 13 Series book came out. I was beginning to worry that I would never again read something as good as the Virgil Jones series. Thank you Thomas Scott for giving us another book that holds us spellbound. Keep them coming. Being a Hoosier by birth I love the Indiana setting.
I have been very fortunate to read every book in the Virgil Series collection and have NEVER hit a flat sentence. I’m eagerly awaiting the next in the book ‘State of One’ in November…too far away!
Classic Virgil Jones. Another great book. Not much more can be said. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading one of these books you have denied yourself long enough. Read one and you're hooked.
Another great read as usual. The suspense, humor, and sadness all in one book. As usual the characters are people that I could hang with, I like smart a**es. I have enjoyed all the books in this series. If you haven't read them give them a try.
Excellent work Thomas Scott ! Once again you made me wrestle with a mystery to solve, tears of both happiness and sorrow, danger to be dealt with, and elation once again ! Thanks Again !! I'm off to enjoy the next book in the series !
This is awesome from start to finish! Action, suspense, laughs, tears and edge of the seat excitement. I can hardly wait for the next one. Don't miss this book!
As always this series never disappoints. I read so many other books between these, but when these are released, whatever it is, I drop it to read this series.
Mr. Scott's Virgil Jones series books are always fast moving, thoroughly enjoyable with laughter and tears, and very hard put down. Please write many more!
