Britney Wolf takes her readers on a journey into her life with Tourette Syndrome. Whether it was with her family, at work, or in the classroom, tics always followed her. Britney brings you into the depths of her world by sharing stories of hardship and triumph while providing reflection and thought-provoking questions to her readers. Whether you’re an educator, employer, or have Tourette Syndrome affecting your life in any way, this book will be sure to make a difference in the way you see and hear the words Tourette Syndrome.
This is a thoughtful well together piece of writing that can help you understand Tourette syndrome. If you know someone or if you don't know someone with the disorder I would say this book is definitely worth a read. I love the fact that there are worksheets included for teachers parents friends and employers.
Living with Tourette Syndrome – Compassionate, from the Soul
I could not put this book down; read in one sitting. Britney Wolf gives a vivid, emotional, and informative account of living with Tourette Syndrome as a daughter, student, friend, and, finally, a happily married wife. She takes us into her mind/body for day-by-day, sometimes minute-by-minute descriptions of what it is like mentally, emotionally, socially and physically to live with Tourette Syndrome. If I were not retired from teaching high school English, I would put this book on all my reading lists. And I would hope that college and university teacher education programs would put “Ticcing My Way Through Life” on theirs.
Britney is a rockstar! This book provides first-hand insight into life with Tourette Syndrome and it was very eye opening to see the struggles and triumphs that come with this disorder. I appreciate Britney’s candor and willingness to be so raw, real, and open about her experiences with this condition to educate others. This is a must read for every educator and employer who works with someone that experiences tics.
Enjoyed reading about an exceptional strong woman who is unafraid to put herself out there to help others. This book should be read not only to understand Tourette but to compassionately understand individuals with disabilities and how words and actions can have a profound effect on those we interact with.
Wonderful, easy to read book about life with Tourettes Syndrome, by an unstoppable Tourettes advocate. As a person with Tourettes myself, I found Britney's candor refreshing and her message of always moving forward to be uplifting.
This is such a real and raw story about Britney and her life with TS. She has faced adversity and has been a strong advocate for TS. This is a great book for all ages to learn more compassion!
