Will this centuries-old Scottish Highlander shifter claim his Regency bluestocking mate before he goes feral?

Maon of the MacLeod can’t be alone much longer, not without losing what is left of his humanity. The wolf shifter is desperate to find his mate and does…in the Egyptian desert. But now he must claim the independent woman who considers marriage little better than a jail sentence.

Spinster Adaira, daughter of a minor lord, has no interest in turning her life over to a man through the shackles of marriage. She wants to start a free library on her parents’ Scottish estate. But while accompanying them on an Egyptian expedition, she finds a man who stirs her blood in unexpected and unforgettable ways.

Adaira’s careful plans collide with Maon’s savage desires and sparks fly, but will their circumstances destroy any chance at happiness or create a future beyond their imaginings?

Desert Moon is book seven in the Children of the Moon historical paranormal romance series with shifters, but can be read as a standalone. Passionate with a guaranteed HEA.

I write spicy romance books that end in an HEA. Contemporary romance, historical romance, paranormal romance…I write it all. The two things my books all have in common is lots of emotion and spice. Last year, I fell in love with a new subgenre: mafia romance. Since I write what I love to read, I started a new standalone series, Syndicate Rules where you’ll meet over the top alpha heroes in the Italian and Greek mafias as well as the Irish mob. There are arranged marriages, forced marriages, enemies to lovers, stalkers, forced proximity and lots of mafia intrigue. Morally gray is my new favorite color.

I’ve been published a while and most of my 90+ books have hit the Nielson Bookscan bestseller list, a few ended up on the USA Today bestseller list and some even hit national bestseller lists in the UK and Australia. My books have been translated into numerous languages and are for sale in dozens of countries around the world. I’ve won awards and been published with most of the big houses in New York, but my greatest achievement is touching readers’ hearts. When I hear from a reader who got caught up in one of my books, I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.

I love writing emotionally deep stories with snappy dialogue and solid plots. I’m more grateful than I’ll ever be able to express that so many readers have taken my stories into their hearts and put my books on their reread and keeper shelves.

Lucy Monroe is one of my favorite writers and I was waiting for the next installment of her Children of the Moon series for a long time. I should say that the latest book in this series, Desert Moon, is worth the wait.

As I was reading this book, I was transported to Egypt and could picture the people in each scene. The characters are interesting and complex. Maon is a hundred-year-old wolf shifter and becomes the guardian of the desert temple in Egypt. His emotions were portrayed well, from guilt that he couldn’t save his people during the Black Plague and delight at finding his mate after a hundred years. Adaira is a Victorian lady, who was happy to live as a spinster until she meets Maon. You should read the book to enjoy their relationship and see how they overcome their struggles. I loved the way the book flowed from scene to scene, and it hooked me to read it in one go.

I really appreciate Ms Monroe for providing me with an opportunity to be part of the ARC for this book. It was a wonderful read. I went back and read all the books in the series to acquaint myself again with all the terms and premise.

Another fantastic Children of the Moon read by Lucy Monroe. This story is set in Egypt unlike the other stories in this series. I loved Maon and Adaira . The chemistry and love scenes between this coup!e are hot! The storyline is well developed, I could not put it down. I received a ARC copy of this book for a honest review.

Another amazing addition the the Children of the Moon series! I love this series so much!! I highly suggest them to friends.

This book is a bit different in the fact that it is primarily sat in Egypt instead of Scotland, and set several centuries in the future from previous books, but that doesn’t take away from this great story! I hope to see more of this series in the future to continue the journey and hopefully see more of our other beloved characters!

Thank you Lucy Monroe for letting me be and ARC for this book!

This is author Lucy Monroe at her Children of the Moon best. Maon and Adaira make a fascinating couple. He is hundreds of years old, a wolf shifter, who is also a guardian and made himself guardian of this desert temple. Adaira is a young woman born to a Lord and Lady, but considers herself happily as a spinster. She is only helping her parents on this expedition to Egypt to be free of them and open her library. They promised her a home to do this in, but after reading, I really doubted that they would find an excuse not to keep up their end of the bargain. Read Desert Moon and find out what these people are like.

I think my only complaint would be that since it had been awhile since the last Children of the Moon release, I could have used a refresher course on some of the terms - so adding a glossary would have been really nice. But that aside - this is a very entertaining read.

The way Ms. Monroe writes allows you to envision your surroundings, see the people involved and believe everything that is happening. One of the best escape reads I have had in awhile. I recommend this book - without a doubt that it will be enjoyed!

I have been reading Lucy Monroe’s Children of the Moon series and of course was excited for this newest installment!

Maon is a centuries old wolf shifter living in Egypt. He finally meets his fated mate in Adaira a happy spinster from Scotland who was on a trip with her archeologist parents.

I enjoyed this book. The descriptions of the surroundings are very vivid. The parents are awful and I loved hating on them! I enjoyed Maon and Adaira and the relationship and struggles a lot. However, there are a couple of things that needed work. I would have liked more of Adaira learning about her eagle and healing powers. We really don’t get much of that which was disappointing. I also would have liked more information on the other pack members and we may get this in other books to come but would have liked more here.

Overall a very entertaining read especially for those who have loved and followed this series. Thank you Lucy Monroe for the arc of this book.

Lucy Monroe has built this fantastic world with her Children of the Moon series. Her writing brings you into the emotions of the story, where you find conflict, action, romance and clan. She continues that with Desert Moon. Maon has lived a solitary life for centuries, his guilt for not being able to save more of his people during the Black Plague. Along comes Adaira, she is helping her parents during an expedition in Egypt. She has no desire to be married and has her own dreams but meeting Maon has changed everything.

So many details that I can’t wait to know with the next book in this series. A not to be missed read.

I'm a huge fan of Lucy's Children of the Moon series and this latest is no exception. She has built this incredible world within the larger world seamlessly. You find conflict, action, and romance. This book takes place several thousand years after the previous but that doesn't take away from the magic.

I can't wait for the next book. This series is one not to be missed!

It's really hard to come back to a series after a long break. I'm not sure if I changed or Monroe did, but this didn't hit as well as her earlier books. Read Moon Awakening instead.

This book is better during the last fourth of the story. It just felt like all the really interesting things happened towardsmthe end vs sprinkled throughout like the previous stories.

It was a good book but I didn’t like the big time jump. Also there where so many more stories to be told before this one.
