The enemy has learned how to replicate in the nanoverse.
His plan remains the same.

To usher in the next chapter of human evolution. To convert all of humanity into a digital species, inhabiting a digital world.

The government has fallen.

The resistance is in turmoil.

If I'm going to save humanity I have no choice but to destroy the nanoverse.

But can I do that without also destroying myself?

Nanowar is the fourth book in Theophilus Monroe's Nanoverse, an action packed dystopian sci fi thriller series. As a former soldier, suffering from PTSD, Brian Goff is not only a threat to the new system, but his very injury has given him control over the nanobots. Like Neo, in The Matrix, Goff is an unlikely hero whose "technomagic" makes him the the last hope for human liberty, freedom, and justice.

Theophilus Monroe is a fantasy author with a knack for real-life characters whose supernatural experiences speak to the pangs of ordinary life. After earning his Ph.D. in Theology, he decided that academic treatises that no one will read (beyond other academics) was a dull way to spend his life. So, he began using his background in religious studies to create new worlds and forms of magic-informed by religious myths, ancient and modern-that would intrigue readers, inspire imaginations, and speak to real-world problems in fantastical ways.

Theophilus has weaved a story of Brillant minds and what could happen. The Nano bots are taking over the world. There are so many scenarios, but what one will be right? Can Groff stop everyone from being nanos in the world instead of human? What is going to happen? Will everyone die? Who is smarter the tech world that was developed or the humans that started it?

This is one of those series that really capture your imagination! From the first book in the series, I was going between wonder and horror, wonder at what can be achieved when brilliant minds work together and horror at how easily it could backfire and manipulated. I was completely enthralled, a bit uncomfortable and afraid, that's how realistic this series is! Brian is my hero, I've said it before, I'd hope if ever such a scenario were to become reality, a Brian surfaces! I was honestly not expecting the way this final book unfolded, although, I do confess, I'm thrilled that Theo shows that redemption is possible. I loved the way Flat's character evolved. The action is as always, superbly presented, the pace is always just right. It never felt rushed, so smooth and effective, it kept me engaged throughout. As for the characters, so diverse, so captivating and realistic, loved them! This is one of those series I'll be rereading, time and time again!

“Nanowar” is the fourth instalment in Theophilus Monroe’s “Nanoverse” brand-new dystopian/sci-fi series, which very successfully integrates very pressing modern-day issues with futuristic dystopian tropes into a story that is both, highly entertaining and easy to read while being eerie accurate in shining a light into our modern world and some of the dangers we might encounter in our ever-faster-going race for technological prowess. Don’t make any mistakes, this is first and foremost an entertaining tale, which mixes tropes from ‘Minority Report’, ‘Surrogates’ and ‘Matrix” to a 100%-original story. Monroe is a real master when it comes to organically blending modern urban fantasy, eternal tropes, mythology, religious tropes, while easily blurring boundaries between reality and legend and transform them into a veritable smørrebrød of action, yes ‘smørrebrød’ no other word would do, Monroe offers a multitude to choose from and let the decision to you, although…. Usually you will end up, having to have it all 😉 with the added bonus of “non-indigestion guaranteed”.

As usual, I’ve been waiting for the next instalment in the series since the time I turn the last page on the previous one, and I’ve just turned the last page on this one 😉…thus there is only one way to go… back into the nanoverse from the very beginning… because there is no way I can get out of it 😉. “Nanowar” is the best instalment into an already outstanding series, that perfectly walks the line between dystopia/science-fiction and possible future reality which makes it all the more appealing and horrifying, because the deeper we go into the Nanoverse, the more we begin to realize, that dystopia and reality lie just a pulse apart. Monroe interweaves an intelligent storyline, with gripping plot buildings blocks, stop action and believable character development, in which romantic elements highlight the human side of the story.

When it comes to Monroe, I have already learnt to always expect the unexpected, puzzling twists, wonderful characters, and mind-blowing descriptions, garnished with a good dose of magic some sprinkles of mythical lore and some paranormal romance on the side, and served with very well-crafted, with an accurate world building, interesting characters, captivating writing style and carefully editing. And still…. he gets me every single time, no matter whatever high my expectations are, Monroe manages to meet them with miles to spare. As usually with Monroe, the unexpected comes hand in hand with high-quality storytelling, perfect crafted-world, deep, interesting, and captivating characters, full entertainment, witty situations, a pinch of irreverence and in this particular case an extra-portion of fun bordering on occasion on the whimsical.

As always, let me give you some prompts to enjoy the book at it fullest – yes, I know you are all already advanced fans, but allow me, nevertheless, because we tend to forget it, don’t we 😊 - you can schedule to read the book at any given time, but… should you schedule an evening lecture take some measures: re-schedule that job/zoom meeting in the morning, should you make it, you will not look your best (some aftereffects of the Nanoverse, such as an overwhelming need to get back into it, can be expected 😉). I know, I know, sleep is overrated but all-nighters still left signs… once you begin the book, you will be unable to put it down, is a proven fact… and beware of spontaneous burst of shocked expressions, unexpected expletives, and even some nervous heartly laughs… it could happen… it will…. often… respect your sleepy neighbours (the ones still living under some rock, but despair not, they eventually will come out to fall under Monroe’s spell 😉).

This is book four of the Nanoverse series and starts just after the American government was taken down by Dr Archimedes Flat, one of the scientists who developed the original idea of the Nanoverse and nanobots to help people have longer lives and be healed from injuries. Now Dr Larson, of the resistance, has been given the nanobots cocktail of injections to keep the country safe. Only that’s not much use when Dr Flat has replicated himself so many times, his other selves can lure more people to connect to the Nanoverse and leave their weak humans bodies to rot away, to supposedly get their own versions of paradise. Only Dr Flat doesn’t seem to care what happens to the people themselves, only that they join his Nanoverse and bring their memories of the world to help create a better version of his dream world. He has changed the way people interact with the world and taken a next step in human evolution that has almost ninety percent of the world’s population whose bodies are about to expire!
Brian Goff is the only person who can enter the Nanoverse to fight Dr Flat and have any chance of winning, but doing so leaves his human body vulnerable! Liza is happy to keep him safe, but his daughter Susie and the others, Eloise, Seneca, and Father Ezra, with Keith Bonecrusher to protect them, must escape to a new safe haven, after Dr Flat sends hundreds of bodies to their resistance HQ, to force Brian to run. If he is constantly running for his life, he won’t be able to enter the Nanoverse and stop the multitude of Dr Flat’s from killing everyone’s bodies off. Brian wants to try and ensure he can disconnect as many people from the Nanoverse, as he can, allowing them to get back into their bodies, with the hopes many of them would survive and not just be left in a coma! Dr Flat however, has already worked out their plans multiple times and knows what they are all likely to do, even before they actually do it! It makes him almost impossible to stop, especially since many versions of him have de-sensitised themselves to their human emotions and are willing to do just about anything to keep their existence and growth in the Nanoverse alive.
Brian has to try and save humanity, but in doing so, he may have to give up everything he loves. If he manages to disconnect the Nanoverse, all those who are in it whose bodies are no longer viable, will perish. Their memories and thoughts lost in the winds of time. If he allows the Nanoverse to continue, it can’t do so with all the different versions of Dr Flat, who have evolved well past human morality, to embrace this new universe and way of life. They will do anything to stop him and there is one last huge sting in the tail that Dr Flat had prepared for when the chips were down, and it might not be something Brian can do alone, nor one he can allow to go forward without altering his present action plan to stop Dr Flat once and for all. A hair raising ending to the series, with all the main characters in danger and facing versions of the originator of the Nanoverse, who have evolved into beings who don’t respond to rationale in the same way humans do and believe their way is the only way to survive. Lots of bumps in the road as Brian, Liza and John Larson attempt to put an end to the damage already done to civilisation as a whole and the reality of what was created finally hits home for some. A short final book that still manages to fit so much into it, as the twists and surprises keep coming! I loved it! This series is one to read and wonder about where the world itself, that we currently live in, may one day soon become if we aren’t careful. I received an ARC copy fo this book and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This is book 4, the last one of Nanoverse series. So you know what that means..... the ending.... the finale.... It's curtain time! So Brian has been struggling since the beginning with the Nanobots, Flat and what he did to him, and what Flat is now trying to do to everyone. Will Flat succeed in bringing everyone into the Nanoverse and ending life as we all know it? Can Brian take him on and defeat what seems to be undefeatable? What IS Love and how is it truly measured? (Think about that one)

Theophilus, is an amazing author, an amazing person (he interacts with his fans), and a totally funny guy... The worlds he creates are amazing. If you haven't picked up any of his other series (many have the characters are interlaced like a spider's web, it's awesome!!!), you MUST. I promise you won't regret it at all! You might find you have no time to do anything but read and MAYBE sleep, but I did warn you here so.....

This was a great ending to this series, although I really had no idea how it was all going to pan out. I expected the nanoverse to end, but it didn't. I expected Flat to be defeated and while he was in some ways, he also wasn't! I certainly didn't expect Bonecrusher's actions nor Flat's to be honest.

This sci-fi series is scary in how real this whole world could become in the future, maybe the not so distant future as well. Nanobots have basically taken over everyone and everything and while it sounds idealistic at first glance, the reality is so much more worrying than initially realised. The war to gain control is definitely not an easy one to win! Theophilus Monroe weaves a very intricate web here, with so many great characters and scenarios that completely absorb you into this world.

Thank you to Theo for my copy of this ARC - it was another great series that I couldn't put down!

Desperate times call for desperate measures, but will our hero be able to survive the results?

This is book four of the series and the conclusion. While it does pretty well as a standalone, I recommend starting at the beginning to get the full effect.

This is a science fiction story with a bit of cyberpunk and dystopia thrown in. The story is very well written and fairly easy to read. I say only fairly because there is a lot going on here and it occasionally takes some effort to keep things straight. Both the characters and the setting are well done with plenty of detail that brings things to life. The plot is fast paced and includes plenty of actions as well as twists and turns so there is never a dull moment. Overall, it was a very exciting series and I definitely look forward to seeing what our author comes up with next.

Highly recommended.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This author writes a brilliant, mindbending story of possible technology improvements to humans. Known as the nanoverse, the creator has immersed himself, and replicated himself so his program goes global. One problem, it presents danger to humanity itself. There are those who have discovered the way to save humans from destruction. Having nanobots already in their system, a group of people who realize the events that have happened, that will in turn prove the nanoverse to be defective and destructive must find a way to stop the creator from completing his goal. The war is on. There are terrorizing scenarios they must think through, as they can be tracked. Losing is not an option. Lots of action, nail biting moments, twists and turns throughout this exciting continuation of an epic series. Prepare for a late night reading!

Nanowaris the fourth book in Theophilus Monroe's Nanoverse. This is a brilliant read! It is an action packed dystopian sci fi thriller series. I found myself pulled in from beginning to end. I was riveted to the page! The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I bit of the story that I will share is the protagonist is faced with the decision that he might have to give up his own life to save humanity. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author. I received this novel from StoryOrigin, This is my honest and true opinion.

Flat is using people to attach the resistance headquarters. He wants to kill Goff so he can have the world he thinks he wants. But the resistance gets away. Goff and Liza enter the nanoverse to talk to Flat. That is when they find out that Flat realizes the nanoverse will never be perfect but it will be hard to clean it up. Flat has replicated himself so many times that his replications now have minds of their own. This last story, as short as it is, contains plenty of action, some romance, and ends in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

Brian leads a group of resistance fighters, and will do whatever he needs to, to make sure he makes it home to his daughter. It is truly a psychological ride with twists and turns I never saw coming. Great story, I read book 4 first, so now I need to go back and read books 1-3.
I received Nanowar: Nanoverse: Book 4 as an ARC(my 2nd by Theophilus Monroe). Theophilus Monroe has changed my thoughts of Dystopian Sci-Fi towards the good, with his descriptions and ability to bring you into the stories.

So much in such a little package - wow! The author takes us to the angst of battle, the depths of probable defeat before charging to a triumphant conclusion, while expounding on the truth of the human condition and debating the existence of souls in a digital afterlife. All this in a work the length of a novella. Just wow. The only other thought this has me pondering is is this the future of warfare? (Please, no. Just no.)

In Nanowar by Theophilus Monroe that I received through StoryOrigin, and that I am willingly reviewing, the enemy has learned to replicate in the nanoverse. Flat plans on converting humanity into a digital species. The government has fallen and the resistance is in turmoil. Will Brian Goff, along with his allies, manage to save humanity and/or destroy the nanoverse without Brian destroying himself? He is the last hope for human liberty freedom and justice. This is the last book of the series. I highly recommend this and the other books in the series. This book is available on Amazon

Nanowar: A Dystopian Sci-Fi Technothriller (Nanoverse Book 4), my eighteenth read from author Theophilus Monroe and the concluding book in his Nanoverse series. Another well written & enjoyable read/listen. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Shorter in pages & number of volumes yet not in enjoyment.than his other series. Miles Meili 's narration adds to the enjoyment of this book. I look forward to my next read from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)

Tensions run high in this last book of the series as Goff and Liza try to end the war with Flat with the help of the resistance. Can they stop Flat without killing all of humanity? Can they persuade people to leave the nano verse before it’s too late? Find out in this excellent quick read conclusion

The government has fall and the resistance is having issues too. But cannot let that stop all the fun. Lots of action danger and surprises as the big finale is at hand. Glued to the end to see what happens and what our plucky group and hero would have to face and overcome. Not disappointed and enjoyed it. Entertaining and fun as always in this futuristic world.

He knows he now needs to destroy the nanoverse but it is not going to be easy. He also knows he will need to make sure he was not destroyed along with the nanoverse. How is going to do it? Can it even be done? What must be done? See just how he gets on

Gripping conclusion to the series.

Brian and the resistance must stop Flat once and for all before the real world collapses.

Flat comes to an enlightening conclusion himself - his scenarios in the nanoverse don't live up to his expectations. How will he fix it?

Great series, definitely worth reading.

Received as a review copy from Story Origin; also received an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Narrated by Miles Meili, brilliantly brings this realistic dystopian series to grand and memorable conclusion.

This harrowing and immersive series keeps getting better and deeply complex... Nanowar is the best book yet. The government may have been brought down, yet The Resistance hasn't been to its knees; even as Flat forces the team on the run and Brian Goff to take control of zombie armies Flat sends out to impede the group. The war to decide of whose agendas and dreams to control everything takes place in the nanoverse... a haunting world of illusions and dreams; delivering a brilliant memorable ending to this profound series. Highly recommended.

Nanowar is the fourth and last book in the Nanoverse world by Theophilus Monroe and by far possibly the best one yet. Each book in the Nanoverse world is unique in its own way. Each book starts out with a blast and never lets up from beginning to end with never a dull moment in between. Once I picked up Nanowar I was just as hooked if not more so than I was when I started reading each of the books before it.

The world-building is spectacular in each and every book. The descriptions were vividly written making it so easy to see and imagine what was happening while at the same time having you wondering what was around the next corner. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough as each twist was revealed and left me wanting more. I loved the world that was created for Nanoverse and could easily read more.

In Nanowar, Brian Goff is still trying to save the world from Dr. Flat. Dr. Flat has stepped up his game by making replicates of himself in the nanoworld. By making more and more copies of himself Dr. Flat now has the power to draw more people into his world, a world that he has created, a world free from illness and disease.

If the people stay in the nanoworld long enough their bodies will die and they will have to stay in the nanoworld forever never able to return to the real world. The longer a person stays in the nanoworld the more addictive it becomes for them. I guess being able to create your own version of a perfect world for yourself is very seductive.

If Brian enters the nanoworld to try and get the people to leave the nanoworld and reenter the real world some of them or most of them will die sending the world into an apocalypse. Brian and the resistance are working hard to try and find a way to keep as many people as possible alive. Can Brian and his team keep the people alive? How many can he save? The answers lie between the pages of Nanoverse.

I highly recommend this addictive universe to one and all. One-click your copy of Nanowar today for a grand adventure to a new world!
