When Nellie Sinclair escaped the danger in Sydney, selling her apartment and heading toward her new life, she had no idea if she'd ever be safe; if she'd ever be able to return to Sydney. But on her arrival at the small hamlet of Glenmeer, not far from Bindarra Creek, she was sure she would be safe. Nellie knew the person wouldn't find her in the National Park where the rundown old house she'd bought was tucked into the bush. The photos on the real estate site she'd bought it from had obviously been doctored - it was a wreck, but she would fix it.
Nellie's nearest neighbour was Kane Maxwell who ran tours into the National Park for parties of tourists. Nellie was happy to help Kane with his social media and website for his business and wondered if she could open her own graphic design business. But to feel confident of her safety, to be able to make friends with Kane and his family, first she had to work out what to do about her past. When Nellie became aware she was being watched, being followed, she was terrified. She knew her life was on the line. Would she need to run again? Would it ever end?
A Perfect Danger is #7 in A Bindarra Creek Mystery series, this one by Aussie author Phillipa Nefri Clark. All separate stories; standalones, this one is written in Ms Clark's usual intense, gritty and fast paced style, and I loved it! Nellie is one brave, courageous and determined young woman and I'd like to read more about her! Highly recommended.
The last book in this series, but I am hoping there will be more visits there as it is a lovely place to stay, fabulous characters and there is always something going on, come along and meet Nellie Sinclair and Kane Maxwell and journey with them through the Akuna National Park, danger and a beautiful HEA.
Nellie leaves Sydney in a rush with something that belongs to someone else but for good reasons she is a caring and hard working woman who loves the beach but when a situation occurs at her job as graphic designer, she knows it is time to leave, she buys a house sight unseen in the beautiful hamlet of Glenmeer near Bindarra Creek, what she finds is nothing that she expected.
Kane lives in Glenmeer and runs camping trips among other exciting adventures in the national park, when a woman moves into the run down house next door he is drawn to her instantly, when there is a power outage Kane steps in to help his neighbour, he knows that there is a big reason for the sudden tree change and is more than happy to help, if he can get her to open up.
When danger arrives in the way of a stalker on a motor bike Kane steps up to be there for Nellie, it is not long before the spark between them is growing and Nellie is opening up about her reasons for moving, but can he keep her safe? Nellie is also doing what she can to keep Kane safe, what has she bought to this small town and will they all come out safe and sound?
I loved this one from start to finish Phillipa Nefri Clark sure knows how to write a story that is fast paced, emotional and filled with wonderful characters, a story that had me cheering them both on and sitting on the edge of my seat and then to see such a beautiful HEA was the best. This is one that I highly recommend. Thank you Phillipa for another keeper.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review
A Perfect Danger is book seven in the A Bindarra Creek Mystery series by Phillipa Nefri Clark. After an unhappy childhood, Nellie Sinclair was finally happy with her job in an advertising company and her apartment overlooking Manly Beach until she saw pictures and realised what her boss wanted to do to one of his biggest clients. One night she stole the pictures, went on the run, and ended up in the rural hamlet of Glenmeer. Nellie Sinclair decided to stay and start a new graphic design business, and her first client was her neighbour Kane Maxwell. Strange things began to happen. Will Nellie run or fight? The readers of A Perfect Danger will continue to follow Nellie Sinclair to discover what happens.
A Perfect Danger is the last book in this series which I am sad about because it is fantastic series, and A Perfect Danger is an excellent addition to the series. A Perfect Danger is the second book I have read by Phillipa Nefri Clark, and I need to add her to my list of authors that I enjoy reading their books. I engaged with the plot of this book, and I could not put the book down until I finished reading this book. I also enjoyed Phillipa Nefri Clark's description of the settings that transport me back to Bindarra Creek and rural Australia.
The readers of A Perfect Danger will learn the importance of having an excellent social media presence when promoting a new business. Also, the readers of A Perfect Danger will understand the importance of not purchasing anything sight unseen.
Nellie discovers her boss plans to blackmail a rival and she steals the evidence. Then she has to get out of town quickly so she buys a house sight-unseen in a small town. Naturally, this house isn’t at all what she expected and needs a ton of work. It also isn’t quite as isolated as she was led to believe, but her new neighbor turns out to be just what she needs. I was pleasantly surprised that Nellie’s neighbor is also the brother of Blair from Tangled by Tinsel. Her old boss isn’t about to let her get away with stealing the evidence. There’s also a bit of a twist with how her old boss’ henchman is able to find her. Bit of drama, mystery, and romance – page turner that I recommend.
Setting: New South Wales, Australia; modern day. When P.R. executive Annalise decides that her boss Andre has gone too far in attempting to take over a rival company, she steals a USB stick from him but is nearly caught in the process. So she is forced to flee her life in Sydney - she sells her flat in Manly and her sports car and uproots her life to an isolated house she has bought on the edge of the outback, sight unseen. Arriving at the house, she finds it in a dilapidated condition, nothing like what she had been told by the estate agent, so must set about renovations if she is thinking of staying. Wishing to stay 'off the grid', she is going by the name of Nellie Sinclair and is only willing to make her presence known to as few people as possible - not realising that she has a near neighbour in the shape of outback adventure organiser, Kane Maxwell. Initially reluctant to engage with her neighbour, she inexplicably finds herself drawn to him - but her fear of Andre finding her causes her to try to keep a safe distance from Kane as she doesn't want to be the cause of him getting hurt. Will love find a way?.... This was quite an enjoyable read, perhaps a trifle formulaic and predictable but still a good tale with a great setting and characters. Overall, a 4-star read for me - 8/10.
Nellie Sinclair is on the run from her boss. She took something that belonged to him. She left everything she loves behind. She sold her apartment, her car and left Sydney. Didn’t tell anyone, including her mom and best friend where she is. She bought a home in the middle of nowhere sight unseen in Glenmeer, near Bindarra Creek. Thank goodness she has the money to fix it up since it’s not what she thought it was. She loved her job as graphic designer and hopes that her boss will look for her at the beach, here favorite place to be. Her only neighbor is Kane Maxwell who has a business doing camping, hiking, whitewater trips in the Akuna National Park. Anything outdoor adventures. He’s surprised to see a woman at the rundown house next door. He try’s to be a good neighbor but realizes that she’s running from something. He’s happy to help. They spend time together and they have chemistry that’s off the charts. They enjoy each other’s company too. She’ll help him with his advisements and social media platforms., but when danger arrives in the way of a man on a motorcycle, Kane decides to help. He also has a stalker in the form of a woman who wants him for herself. Can the two of the survive their stalkers? Will they get away? Will they be found? This has twist and turns. I loved the characters and enjoy reading their story. Worth the read.
🦘🏞️I hope there's more to the story. Not just Nellie stealing a drive and running away. The way it's going I don't think there is. Which will be very dumb.
🦘🏞️I like Kane and Blair. Their humor especially.
🦘🏞️Ok there isn't anything else. She found out her boss is about to blackmail someone, stole the source and left when threatened. Didn't contact any authority, no professional help, no plan, just running around with the evidence on her.
🦘🏞️So Kane didn't really believe her...... On the other hand she didn't tell him everything. Or did she?
🦘🏞️That one impulsiveness aside Nellie is pretty intelligent.
🦘🏞️You leave her L word hanging cause you found out she was making a deal with the devil? For whom do you think she's doing it?
🦘🏞️At least she acknowledged it that her way of handling it was wrong. In my words dumb.
🦘🏞️Eye roll worthy twist, if you can even call it that. I didn't feel the danger. pErFeCt danger🙄 Like as a romance book it was good but don't put it on mystery or thriller shelves.
