An accidental virgin and her best friend’s big brother…
I’ve had, to put it mildly, a sheltered life. As the most powerful psychic born in generations, my House is a little scared of me—or rather, what I can do—so I’ve spent a large part of my life alone in my bedroom.
Taking my first tentative steps out into the real world as an adult has been exhilarating and unexpected. Exhilarating to experience the freedom, unexpected to realize I have feelings for my best friend’s older brother.
And to complicate matters, the world is in trouble and my powers are the ones needed to help save it. I require a protector and Kris is determined the role will fall to him. But how can I ask him to put his life on hold for me?
*Virgins and Vampires is a 90k word full length stand alone novel
India Amare is the author of The Blood Falls series. It’s the pen name of a prolific romance author who finally unleashed the paranormal universe that’s been trapped in her head ever since she snuck a copy of Bram Stoker’s Dracula into the shopping cart when her mom wasn’t looking. (And got in trouble for that!)
After a career studying the long arc of human history she’s often wondered what if…
What if vampires existed. What if magic was real. What if everything we dream about isn’t imaginary after all…
Visit Blood Falls to delve into this alternate world.
I really enjoy this series. I would read the series in the entirety as there are parts in this book that make so much more sense when it is not read as a standalone or out-of-order.
That being said, the events in this book do follow after the second book and bring the reader closer into the relationship/story of Kris and Rain. Kris is Leena's brother and when she was in trouble, he was there to try to help her allow with family friend Rain. Always considered the little sister, Rain lived a sheltered life due to her unique gifts. Feeling everything from everyone can be an overwhelming experience. All that changed when she was needed to save a friend. Now, things have changed for her. There is a big world out there, with a handsome, smexy male who may have been her first kiss given because he may or may not see her as "the little sister" still. Ughhh. She definitely wants to be more than a little sister; she wants to be his everything.
Now these two must start communicating and looking beyond past labels and start working together. Life is too uncertain and if you find the one that matters . . . Ahhh
Question is will these two get it together and realize that also our will they lose something before it begins. They have the passion, the chemistry that burns the sheets; they just need to communicate.
It's another unique take on the PN trope that was worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The intricacies of the plot moved on n better in this one. That's not to say that it wasn't still sex-heavy, there was still copious amounts of it between Rain & Kris. The addition this time? Like the heading says; a ball of light. The war looks to be getting much closer & one betrayal in particular shocks two of the Houses.
India Amare has a way with words when it comes to sex, but after a while it becomes a tad wearing. Like the last book, I found myself speed reading over several of the pages long sex scenes. As the war draws closer I would love to know more about the Plane & the history of the Houses but it kind of gets subsumed by the frequency & length of the sex. I love erotica fiction but I do like it balanced out. In particular with this series, there's a fantastic backstory that's complex & far-reaching & deserves to be explored fully. No doubt the next series I start will have too little sex in & I'll be disappointed about that! Poor authors can never get it right for everyone.
Blood Falls is a paranormal world of vampires, shifters, werewolves, witches, warlocks, angels, demons, and even more. Within that world, Rhiannon of the House of Gatlin (“Rain”) is a powerful psychic who has led a very private life, mostly because everyone is afraid of her and what she is capable of. When she is ready to experience the real world outside, she is overwhelmed by the joy of freedom and surprised at the way she feels toward her best friend’s brother, Kris.
When her powers are called upon, she needs someone to protect her while she is doing her part for the fight. But why is Kris insisting on taking up that role to protect her? What does this mean? And can she talk him out of it? With her ability to read minds, was she unaware of how he felt about her?
I know it said explicit but this was over the top. I don't like needless vulgarity especially when it comes to sex and love making. It was written with both. “Hey little p#3sy. Meet my c$$k. I’m going to break you in now, just the way I like it." Seriously. Not good. Other than that I enjoyed the story. The story line was great. The characters were well thought out and the world building was good. Just tone down the vulgarity, please.

This is such a great book! The female lead is smart and sassy and oh so sexy! And the guys... drool. This ticks all the boxes if you enjoy paranormal romance with strong heroine and strong protector. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm a fan of dragons, vampires and other mystical creatures, so this book is right up my alley. It's kind of heavier on the sexy parts than I normally care for, but it's easy to skim past those .
After reading the first two I took a break and came back to this series after a while. Still easy to read and quick paced, but felt a little more juvenile than the first two? Still liked it, will finish the series. Just doesn't need a lot of thought to understand.
