My books are closed-door romances, with romcom elements and ALWAYS a happily-ever-after. I love writing read-in-a-day books with fun characters, tight-knit besties, sun-drenched settings, swoon-worthy heroes and a lot of warmth and depth.

Writing helps me deal with my homesickness for Australia, as I've been living in Germany for the past 11 years. I majorly love my adopted second home, but Australian beaches haunt my dreams!

I loved this book a lot and I’m so happy I finally read it after having my eye on it for so long.

Firstly I want to say that it’s closed door romance so if you are after hot and heavy steamy sex scenes then this isn’t the book. However I think the book is filled with so much other goodness that we don’t need the steam or miss it from the storyline.

We start this story meeting brother and sister Silas and Lyra. This pair of siblings own a snack van together in the beautiful town of Lilac Bay. They are incredibly close having went through some family issues growing up and learning to stick together.

We meet Lyra’s friends and get to know them really well, I love how much they spent in this novel as it’s really helped set the scene for future books in this series. I’m really intrigued to meet more of them in the future.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book, aside from Miles who was a complete idiot!!

Mike was brilliant, I’m sure we all have a Mike in our lives 😂

The setting of this book was outstanding, the author really set the scene and you could absolutely see the imagery so vividly in your minds eye, great job with that.

I liked Alex and definitely thought this pair would be great together, I look forward to seeing them in future books.

Off to read book 2 now.

Brilliant read, beautifully written and keeps you engaged!

This book takes the reader on a visually impactful and beautiful journey. The characters are so relatable and the scenes are described with clear descriptions you almost feel like you are there. The story unfolds with a lot of anticipation and excitement. I wanted to keep reading to see how the story with Lyra and Alex unfolds. Love, love, loved it! Keep them coming Taylor-Ford.

really enjoyed @authormarietaylorford
debut novel! This is a super sweet, closed
door romance. The characters are
relatable, and even though it's fairly short
(250 pages, my fav length) there is excellent
character development. Excited to start
number 2 and get the third as an ARC! 4.5⭐️

A Nice Romance

Brother and sister Lyra and Silas run a food van on the banks of Lilac Bay. They are happy doing this but Lyra also dreams of having a successful musical career. When Alex arrives with a rival food van Lyra is convinced he is out to ruin their business but there is a growing attraction between them which cannot be ignored, until Lyra does something really stupid which could end the romance before it has really got going. A nice romance with all the usual twists and turns with likeable characters. Will read other books in the series.

Imperfect People Making Mistakes

I was quickly drawn into Lyra's world and enjoyed following the stories of each character's life. It was sad to see the mistakes each person made, but encouraging to realize that we can learn and grow from the hard times as well. I am looking forward to reading the next story.

good read

liked the storyline and like a lot of relationships, better communication, more listening, less lying or "omitting" is needed. hope it gets worked out in the rest of the series.

Loved the second chances

First book read by Marie Taylor-Ford and enjoyed it. Loved reading about Lyra, Silas, Mick, and Alex. If you like a book that will make you go “awwww” at the end, you will love this one.

Meat/No Meat,Love/No Love

A sweet love story that is up and down. Friends for a lifetime to lean on, or not. Family support, or is it? A really good story that covers a lot of aspects of life, shows how strong and how weak we all can be. Enjoyed it a lot.

This is a very quick read and doesn’t really explore the issues it raises. Lyra is irritating and the other characters aren’t much better-
Life is not two dimensional!! But this book certainly painted it that way.
