“Burn in Ruin” is Episode 4 in the Fortune Academy Underworld Episodic series. This is a short read of 5,000 words intended to be read after Fortune Year Eight, but can also be read as a standalone. Episodes feature Lily’s mates with all scenes written from the guys’ point of view. These episodes are M/M, packed with plenty of steam, and dangerously addicting!

Again... I don't know why the author had to make the guys start bonding each other, but at least it doesn't (yet?) cross into the main stories, usually. I'm only reading these in case I miss something referred in the main books. 

The plot that was in this book was pretty good. Kaito somehow found himself captured by Lucifer and his army, so the fallen angels on his side were learning how to torture using him. Finally, Azra took a go at it, but not for the same reasons. He wanted Kaito to embrace his true Kami self.

The tables end up turning and it turns into a quick 'screw.' Again, it isn't just because they want to - The author made it so there was a purpose for it. So while I don't like that the guys are hooking up together, too... I get it.

MM is not my thing. I don't enjoy reading it much at all. But J.R Thorne is doing a good job writing these.

This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series!
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.
Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to read more of these.

Fast paced while giving you equal doses of steam and action, along with a bit of tragedy and a glimpse into the inner workings of the main plot. This story focuses on two of the men from Lilly’s harem of mates, because sometimes it isn’t just about the FMC. Sometimes we need to see the guys hurt and overcome adversity just as much as she does. If you want a little more insight and foreshadowing to the overall plot, then you will want to read this story.

Bite size fun!

A fast, fun read! Enter and get a glimpse into what happened with Azra and Kaito while the latter was imprisoned. We get to see from Lily's mates POV...a peek behind the curtain if you will 😉. It's more of an episode- but for fans of the series definitely worth a read. There's steam *and* a huge reveal- even in this tiny morsel of a read! So treat yourself.

A lot of people on the books these shorts are stemming from have been asking why the mates in Lily’s circle mate each other (which I thought was obvious firstly there are more than ever and secondly they are coins of each other, each representing a different side of the same corruption. I love that these books helped to solidify my theories
