I thoroughly enjoy all things Grimlock and the Death Gate Reapers series with Izzy Sage is a welcome addition to the saga. The cast of characters is getting bigger with each book, opening up new avenues to explore and expand on. There have been stories linking into other series; all of which I have or am reading, which gives an opportunity to reacquaint with other favourite characters. My only disappointment is the amount of analysis of feelings that seems to be on the increase in all these books. I find that for me, this in depth analysis detracts from the main story and sometimes I feel that the story arc has been lost within a mushy pool of emotion. Perhaps this is a cultural issue i.e. American v British, or perhaps it is because I personally do not subscribe to the 'fluffy bunny brigade', preferring action to continuous personal angst. I would like to see more focus on the storyline, magic, action and continuance of the 'snark', with less psychoanalysis and please sort out the Revenants!
