Welcome to Chipping Cheddar where supernaturals are hidden in plain sight.
I’ve had enough.
I’ve been at odds with my family for as long as I can remember.
And I’ve been at odds with myself.
Light and dark. White and black. Good and evil.
To hell with the scales of justice, right now I’m willing to use every fury trait at my disposal to right the recent wrong done to my beloved Chief Fox. If that means finally embracing the fury within, then so be it.
Meanwhile there’s a new supernatural threat in town, but I’m too preoccupied to put on my badge and get to work, prompting my concerned friends to enlist the aid of Hex Support, a secret division of the FBM.
If I’m going down, at least it’ll be in a blaze of glory.

I really enjoy this series, there's always the villian.of.the week some recurring storylines and romantic liaisons but best of all is the family. Eden Fury is an unwilling Fury, she is a supernatural creature whose job it is to enforce justice, vengeance and deal with the evildoers. She comes from an extremity disfunctional.famil. Her mother, grandmother and great aunt are black witches, her father and brother are vengeance demons, her stepmother is a vampire, her sister in law a druid ( the family embarrassment) she also has a niece and a nephew.whose powers are not known yet. Eden is the black/white? Sheep of the family, she does not want to be evil and tries to use her Fury powers as little as possible in order to remain more human. Her mother and grandmother.despair of her ever embracing who.she.is truly meant to be which causes many arguments which usually result in someone.being cursed with death and buried in the back yard.............. Don T worry they reverse the curse after they've calmed down. Then there's the police chief Sawyer Fox (as delicious as he sounds) h he loves dogs and Eden possibly in that order. But he's human and her family will never let them be a couple so their romance must remain secret except her family found out and at the end of the last book they cast a spell which made him forget all about Eden and it worked she's now a stranger to him after them being in love, of course she immediately cursed her mother and grandmother dead and buried them in the back yard, that was five days ago Aunt Thora is getting worried they don't normally keep each other dead that long but Eden cursed them so it's for Eden to bring them back............hopefully
It was a fun, quick read. Almost too fast. The case was - even though the victim was very interesting - almost more of an afterthought to all the other stuff going on in Eden’s life, especially Sawyer losing his memories of their relationship. So while it was all interesting, I would have gladly taken a bit more complexity, victims and some of the developments happening with more flesh on the bone. Still. Can’t wait for the last book in the series - with everything happening, it seems one book isn’t enough to tie up all strings. But we’ll see …
2023 bk 248. Another well written story about our FBI/FBM agent Eden Fury. In this episode she works with KIT from HEX to capture a demon that threatens the population of the town. What I have enjoyed about these books is the growth Eden has shown in her relationships with her friends, colleagues, and family. She left her town hurting from the loses in high school. She returns smarting from the unexpected transfer and lose of her position in San Francisco, but we see her come to care for folks who "done her wrong' in high school, begin to see that there is more to her parents and family than the b/w image she had of them - and now I think she has at last found an equal in the FBM who can be that female friend/mentor that she needs. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Lacks that bang from the previous books cliffhanger.
After Eden’s epic meltdown at the end of the previous book, I was expecting something equally as dramatic and emotion packed, but instead that kind of fizzled out. Yeah, whatever comeuppance I was hoping her mother and grandmother would receive, and so richly deserve, was pretty much a nothing burger. Still, the current mystery kept my attention and I enjoyed seeing Olivia turn the emotional tables on her grandmother regarding Sawyer.
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Eden fury is just that a fury. Her mother and grandmother are witches her dad is a vengeance demon and she is a fury gaining more fury powers every time she uses her current powers. Even though she’s trying not to use them too often she still is abusing them and gaining more power. She also happens to be a federal agent with the federal Bureau of Magic. When she confronts humans they see her badge as an FBI badge and when paranormal see it they see federal Bureau of magic. Both agencies are intertwined and one side is for the paranormal all the other side is for the humans. Eden is based in her hometown of chipping cheddar where there is a dormant portal to world of another dimension where paranormal‘s come from. She has tasked with her partner to keep an eye on the towns paranormal‘s and check on the portal every day to make sure it’s still dormant. She’s in a relationship with a local sheriff who recently lost his memory due to her mother and grandmother‘s dark interventions. In this story we find out what’s going on in her life these days. There’s a new problem in town and Eden and her crew must figure out what’s going on and save the day. A few special guest appear from one of the other series in this world of magic. Read on and find out what’s going on.
The story continues where the last one left off Sawyer fox does not remember his love for Eden. Of course, Eden is heartbroken. She still left her mother and grandmother dead and no one seems to know how to reverse the curse, but she knows she hast to revive them eventually and aunt Thora find their neighbor dead, but you demon according to the mark left on her. To help Eden out we meet kit who is an FPM agent, but in the hex division which is like a secret division. I really like Kit. I feel like she is a nice character and addition to the team. I will say through this book Eden is sad and Has to still work with Chief fox even though he does not remember their relationship. And the ending is good and there is only one book left, which actually makes me kind of sad as I’m really enjoying this series. I really can’t wait for the last book and I’m curious to see if there will be any spinoffs.
Eden is pissed off and not happy with her family (surprise!), she’s had enough. So much so, that she curses them to die and buries them, not sure when she will resurrect them. While she is debating the resurrection time, her neighbour has been murdered. Unfortunately, the evidence points to a supernatural killer and she ends up working with Sawyer, it’s not easy. Because the suspect is a demon, an agent from the secret Hex department of the FBM, Kit, is assigned to help. This is a short quick read that has a nice mystery, surprises, family problems, and humour. There are also some insights to some of the other characters of the books. Kit is a great addition and I will be reading her books after this series. I’m just breezing through these books, I’ll be sad when I read the next one, the last in the series.
Excellent book. Great mystery in this one. I actually didn't figure out who did it which always pleases me. I love these characters and there is only one more book so I will miss them. The MC, Eden Fury is a fury and an FBM agent in the little town of Chipping Cheddar. As a fury she's reluctant to use her powers because 1) she'll get more powers and 2) she's afraid she will turn evil when that happens. She's in love with the Chief of Police and he's in love with her. The only problem is he's human. Her meddling family captures Chief Fox and via a spell, removes all of his memories of the life and love between Eden and himself. Faced with losing the love of her life by virtue of that loss of memory, she's devastated and determined to find a cure.
I normally wait for the audible book, but I couldn’t wait! I wanted to know what will happened to Eden’s grandmother and mother! Would she gets more fury powers? Will she destroy the town and anyone in her way? I can’t tell you the answer to these questions but I can tell you it will be worth reading! There is a crossover from Annabel’s other series! You don’t have to read them to enjoy this book but it will be a great hold until the next book of the series come out! It’s Pink Moon (Hex Support Mystery) Book 1but there are 3 in the series right now! I hope you enjoy reading them too’
This is the next to last book in the Federal Bureau of Magic series. What a mess! Chief Fox has no memory of his relationship with Eden, thanks to her meddling family, and Eden has killed her mother and grandmother as a result. To resurrect, or not resurrect? That is the question. If that weren’t enough, nasty Mrs. Paulson has been murdered by a rogue demon. A surprise guest appearance will help Eden solve this mess. Another must read from Annabel Chase!
Eden is still reeling from Sawyer having his memory wiped, and retailiates against her mother and grandma... so when Aunt Thora finds Mrs Paulson's body and calls both the FBM and the police it's inevitable that Eden will have to spend time with her oblivious partner.
The FBM send in a special agent to help track the miscreant demon. Eden is caught in a tricky spot, especially when Kit spots her digging up her relatives. Is this going to be a problem for Eden? Will Kit feel obligated to report the un-agent-like behaviour?
Eden is mourning the loss of Chief Fox's memory of their relationship. After leaving her mom and grandma buried in the backyard for almost 5 days, she revives them only because their next door neighbor was murdered.
Now Eden has to work side by side with the Chief acting like they are co-workers when she's dying inside. But when Kit Fairchild from the Blood Moon series joins her to hunt down a demon that escaped her 11 years ago, things are looking better.
First off, loved the crossover. No spoilers from me though. A few things going on. Chief Fox's memories of he and Eden's love was taken by Eden's mother and grandmother in the previous book so of course she's looking for a cure. The nasty neighbour next door was murdered and the "crossover" is helping. And Eden is still very suspicious of the mayor. Only one book left.
This book was fantastic, especially with the Fairfield witches making an appearance. I love when characters from the same world can jump into a storyline. Even though I’m bummed about the last FBM book happening (Book 14), I’m excited to see what happened with all characters. I’m especially interested to see what the phrase “except for the human being part” means from our dear Sheriff!
I guess I will be the odd one out. I didn't like it. I felt like something huge was going happen after the ending of the last book. This book was not it. It was not as good as I would have liked. This felt more like a novella than a regular book in the series. The mystery was not as good nor was the payoff.
I will still continue the series even though this book has been my least favorite of them all. Plus, I like all the people in this series.
I have not done a review after every book, just kept going right to the next one in the series. The story lines hold my attention….the personal ones between family members, friends and the love interest between Eden and sawyer. The individual issues to solve in each story are a nice addition to the emotional issues. My only complaint is I have to wait for the final book 😂
A murder of a reoccurring character, a new character (or 2-3) from a new series introduced, family drama, witchcraft, angst and a cliffhanger. I really like this series and know it’s coming to a close which is a bummer. The only thing bad I can say about this book in the series is that a LOT happened in a very short read. I think some of the complexities could have actually been developed over a couple of books rather than sort of rushed through this one.
I've been waiting patiently (not really, lol) for this chapter. These characters are so much fun and different. It's breaking my heart that it will end with the next installment. Hopefully we will see these people in cross overs. Please. Thank you for sharing.
I think this book was great. I enjoyed seeing everyone. I can't believe the old bat next door was killed by a demon. I think it is sad that sawyer can't remember anything about Eden. I thought they were a great couple. The new visitor was an added bonus. I hope she stays. Anyway, great book and am going to To be sad to see it end
This was a great installment in this wonderful series, although I did miss Neville. He's hilarious. But it was great to see a character from another series partner with Eden (I'm glad I had read the series so I knew who she was). Non-stop action and lots of growth by all. All around excellent and looking forward to the next one.
I’ve waited forever for this instalment. Big fan of this family. Things are a changing. Dam the wait again now! Audio is fabulous. Recommendation from me for this series. Fmc is a fury I love that this isn’t a normal fantasy main character, therefore traits can be played around with quite a bit more. This one ends in a decent hook! Cannot wait to continue.
Tremors are coming, actually they have been happening and we are finally getting to the finale but before that, this baby is packed with mystery, intrigue, excitement and sadness after what happened with Sawyer and Eden’s response to it. Can things move on from there? The pages will fly by as you try to find out and get to cross paths with Kit.
Our heroine comes of age, becoming the fury she's meant to be. She tough, she's strong, and she is in recovery, but she is the badass that can dish it out and take it.
Great job, Annabel. Great story and great editing. Another home run and a no-hitter with no errors. Love it when a plan comes together correctly. Hence, the five-star rating.
Really liked the involvement of Hex Support division and bringing in a new dimension. This sets up a good finally as we all know the portal will come into play.
This is such a good book! I'm sad the next book will be the final one of the series. The characters are interesting and the story doesn't lag. Ms. Chase is a wonderfully gifted author. You won't be sorry to buy this book.
Oh no! The chief of police, Chief Fox has forgotten Eden. Her family swiped his memory of her. She's devastated and duty calls! Read this amazing adventure because the ending definitely leaves you hanging and wanting more.
