fast but fun
This was a super quickie, but perfect for the busy hectic life when all you have time for is a bite of romance, a little nugget of swoon and steaminess.
I really enjoyed this one; I loved the vulnerability of the heroine, the openness she had about her insecurities instead of pretending that she didn’t have them. And it made the love and appreciation of the hero all the more sweet, because it was like a balm to her raw and chafed self-image. *sighs in happiness.*
And the hero’s moments of awkwardness and shyness was also adorable and endearing.
100% safe. Double virgins. No others, although h’s roommate shows interest in the H, he has eyes only for his girl. No cheating or abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue years out.

Two awkward personas met-cute and fell for each other despite their initial reservation about each other. Both had their own insecurities about their past and physical appearance; the H was a muscled billionaire who owned a baseball team while the h was a curvy statistic researcher who felt insecure about herself.
The story was a beautiful short steamy story about body positivity. Despite how short the story was, I liked how Hallie still had room for such a touching issue like body shaming, bullying, and embracing one true self. I liked how she made the path of self-healing was through a support system and love and care, much much love. It was one sweet short story.

borderline preachy
If you’re looking for straight up smu+, you won’t find that here. Smexy scenes do exist in this story, but it’s the caring male lead and the female lead’s dealing with insecurities and her taking risks that take the spotlight here. It’s very hyper aware of the issues a lot of women face and gives readers a unicorn of a man, I guess, to fantasize over, and while I appreciate and applaud that, some days I just want brainless smu+. I wanted a sweet but super steamy story but this was more sweet that steamy.

New to me author.
I love some curvy girl romance.
Darcy’s character was a little different from previous curvy characters I been reading. Where this curvy girls own their curves and love their bodies, Darcy’s self esteem was low.
So when Corbin comes to her rescue she’s taken aback! But he makes her see herself tru his eyes.
Although Corbin was gentle with Darcy I got the feeling that it seem he had only one and one thing in his mind!!! 🍒 🍒

I liked this author. Her books are very good. However, her heroines are always insecure with very low self esteem. Not the kind of heroine I want to read. These is the third book I read and the h are always the same. Not sure if I want to read anymore of her other books ☹️☹️☹️

It was a nice fast read but for me it seemed like if this was a longer book with more back story to it it would be a really good book to reread but I’m not going to. It did make me cringe in some parts of the book. Finished @7:46pm

This book was very good for a quick steamy romance!
The only thing I will say (and it could have been updated by now because I’ve had this book for a couple years) is that there were quite a few grammatical errors, if that’s something that bothers you!

Nice and short read, about a plus size heroine and a baseball team owner who the moment lays eyes on her it’s a goner. Not much to say tbh, pretty sweet and relatable!
