Rate this book
She’s working hard for a better life. He’s working hard to win her heart.

Fiona Madison dropped out of college a few years ago, and ever since, her life has been hurling toward disaster. No matter how hard she works to get ahead, life keeps pushing her farther and farther behind. When she trips, dumping scalding hot coffee all over one of the town’s rich golden boys, she will be lucky to find a job scrubbing toilets at the snowball stand.

Langston Wade believes if you work hard, you will succeed. After all, his life is proof of this. But when Fiona Madison literally tumbles into his life, ruining his starched shirt and making him the laughingstock of the town, her propensity for chaos turns his perfectly organized world on its ear. As the two are thrown together, Langston finds that despite his best efforts, he is falling head over heels for this beautiful bundle of turmoil.

Will Langston’s love for Fiona be stronger than his desire to maintain his orderly life? Or will he clutch tightly to his controlled existence and let the love of his life slip through his fingers.
This inspirational contemporary romance set in the small fictional town of Carson’s Bayou, Louisiana, is a funny, heartwarming opposites attract story of how love finds a way.

KC Hart, author of Christian Contemporary Small Town Romance with a southern twist and Christian Cozy mysteries, has been married to Mr. Wonderful for thirty-nine years. She has three daughters, three grandsons, and one beautiful granddaughter.

KC sincerely believes that well-written Christian fiction can change lives. When a novel has strong Christian principals woven intricately into a well-written plot, the reader bonds with lifelike characters who struggle with trials, temptations, and struggles that the reader identifies with. The reader identifies with these characters because she’s been there. Everyone has fallen. That’s why everyone needs a Savior.

Then, when these same characters turn to Christ the Savior to bring them through these dark moments, the reader finds hope. KC believes the story reminds the reader why she must lean on the Lord in her trying situations. Through the book’s structure showing Christianity as the positive light for good that KC knows to be true, the reader also sees why she needs to be the hands and feet of Christ to others.

KC strives to show how the Lord uses situations, people, and His Word to bring the lost to Him, and mold, prune and grow His children. She tackles challenging situations, powerful emotions, and spiritual warfare through engaging stories and true-to-life characters.

All of KC's books are free of sex, gore and foul language. Her books are full of small town charm and share the light of Christ in a way that is natural to the story.

I was recently introduced to Author KCHart. And I'm so happy I was. I have come to enjoy reading her stories.

This is the second book in this series and it can't get any better. I loved the first one with Vivian and Lucas. Now Fiona and Langston. The characters are so easy going, their witty conversation is so fun that they pull you in as if you were a part of their lives. I had so much fun reading these characters. You can't help but fall in love with them, even when you want to smack someone over the head.

Fiona a young girl working jobs left and right to bring her brothers afloat. And her sweet grandma that with each day seems weaker and weaker. She finds her self in a pickle when she spills hot hot coffee on Langston. While Langston the towns eligible and wealthy handsome guy finds himself in need of a housekeeper and behold the sweet fun adventure starts.

When an incident occurs and leaves Fiona hurt, and to top it off her grandma seems closer to God's embrace, Fiona reaches out for help only to discover that God's peace and love is what will see her through. When her grandma passes she realizes that God's peace is what is keeping them standing along with a handsome "bull-headed donkey".

Is a sweet story of God's peace and strength in difficult situations and the sweet love when you hold to each other's friendship. A must to add to your library and excited to read the third story.

Another short, sweet romance

This was exactly what I was expecting. Low drama, sweet romance, small-town feel, Christian content. Recommended for anyone who enjoys sweet Christian romances.

Wonderful story

This is a great story of struggles, faith, belief in God, love and friendship. It is written in a way we can all relate to in some fashion. It's humorous, a little suspense, and the gospel shared in a great way. I started reading it about midday and finished it before I went to bed. So entertaining that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the next one! Thank you, KC!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! As I read the first in this series, Fresh Starts and Small Town Hearts, I hoped Langston would have his own book. He gave his brother Lucas such wise advice in that book. Yet just like in real life, it’s often easier to see the truth of someone else’s situation rather than your own. Langston needed some help to win the heart of Fiona. Fiona is a strong, female character, the type of strong Southern woman that does whatever it takes to hold her family together. She’s trying to do it all in her own strength though, and we all know how well that works (not!). KC is a great writer. The dialog is perfect and the characters aren’t annoying. The story moves quickly but it doesn’t feel rushed. And KC’s love for Jesus and His Word come through in such a beautiful way. It’s not preachy, but practical and grace-filled. Every book of KC’s I’ve read has encouraged and strengthened my faith. I’ve already peeked at book 3 and I’m excited it will pick up with Fiona’s brother. If you’ve not read book 1, start there, then read this one. I can see why this book won an award!

This is a beautiful story of unconditional love on so many levels and is filled with Gods principles. I love how the author uses Fiona to show true selflessness and putting others first in her life, showing God’s true nature and yet keeping it realistic showing how hard at times it can be to not let our emotions stand in our way. Langston, what can I say! I love him! A Godly man who tries to do things right, but tends to put his foot in his mouth repeatedly! Nana, now it’s her turn to be taken care of! She’s paid her dues raising Fiona, Callie and Sydney. This is a story with great characters, many lessons and chock full of warm fuzzies! I love everything about this book and can’t wait to see what KC Hart comes up with next!

A fantastic read! The characters are so fun, I instantly fell in love with them. This story had me laughing and yes, even crying. KC Hart has a way of pulling the reader in so completely that you become part of the world the characters are in. I love Fiona’s determination and strength. A fun and beautiful story of strength, love and how God directs our paths even when we don’t see it.

Loved this book. KC has a way of starting a book on a humorous event and I really loved this one. Could imagine the embarrassment. The humor continues. Loved both characters and fell in love with Langston. I had problems putting this book down...would give it more stars if I could!

Another Carson’s Bayou winner
Having met Lucas Wade’s ‘uptight’ brother, Langston, in Book 1 of this series, it was interesting, and entertaining, to learn more about him, especially when he is forced, by circumstance, to employ a new housekeeper who is the polar opposite of him 😊. Although Fiona is more relaxed in her approach to life, she is devoted to supporting her siblings and helping to care for her grandmother in the town’s Memory Care home.
Ms Hart incorporates a wide diversity of characters with some demonstrating callous scorn for Fiona’s circumstances together with a lack of trust, while others share compassion, acceptance and confidence in Fiona’s integrity. A sense of humour, with several entertaining occurrences, is evident throughout this enjoyable novel, which is a review copy received from the author.

I’m not blown away by the constant misuse of set/sat, but rather by the very nice explanation of salvation. It fit well into the story flow and wasn’t so much preachy but a teaching. The plot flowed well, too. I loved the interaction between the MCs, too. They were easy to love. I look forward to reading more of this clean, sweet, inspirational romance series.

God has a way of revealing pride that gets in the way of forgiveness as He helps this couple mature in their walk with Him. Her best book ever.
