A yakuza psychopath’s love language? Apparently it’s: “I was going to sell my cornea to prove my sincerity to you.”
Like… okay Nicholas Sparks, but unhinged???
This volume continues the wild, messy, and morally-questionable energy of Vol. 1, and I’m still not totally sure if I’m horrified or entertained—but I am turning the pages. The main lead is still giving “emotionally unstable with a knife,” and yet somehow the main girl’s stubborn refusal to back down keeps everything weirdly balanced. Their chemistry is insane in both senses of the word.
Now—can we talk about the fact he was sleeping with other girls??? UGH. 🙄🙄🙄
It drives me crazy, even though I get that it’s supposed to reflect how detached and reckless he is. Like yeah, realism or whatever, but sir, please get your toxic priorities in order.
That said, the story continues to be addictively dramatic and full of those “wait, WHAT?!” moments. It’s messy, it’s morally gray, it’s a trainwreck you kinda can’t look away from—and I’m probably going to keep reading.
Because if he sells one more organ for love, I need to be there to see it.
