It is an undeniable fact that good things come in small packages. More often than not, it is necessary to trim the fat in order to bring what really matters to the forefront. Having extra bulk may seem like a good idea, but in reality it is merely a crutch that will one day become a hindrance, as it is no substitute for personality nor ability. Indeed, often times it is the small things in life that brighten up our daily lives and constantly remind us exactly why we do the things we do.
However, it is important to keep an open mind, for while bigger is not always better, there are also times when it is. This holds especially true when it comes to hopes and dreams, which have been known to require a suitably large container from time to time. And while dreaming big could potentially lead to massive disappointment, it is also possible to reach for the stars while aiming at the moon.
These are the truths that one tiny woman with a gigantic aspiration is about to discover.
DISCLAIMER: This is a spin-off/side story of Everybody Loves Large Chests, which takes place during the events of Volume 7: Goroth.
Fantastic narration by Soundbooth Theater. This is an action-packed adventure which takes place after the events of Mortimer (book 6). I decided to dive into it before moving on to book 7.
Nice side adventure with interesting characters. I quite liked the dynamic with Tony and Oren. Plenty of potential for growth as well. Much better than Goroth in terms of plot and pacing.
While it was hard to imagine this world without Mr Morningwood it was still a fun book. The. Main complaint I have is the same as the last few books in the main storyline, not enough of the stats. Tom out
A Brutal, Hilarious Side Quest That Leaves You Missing the Main Man
This was a good, chaotic, and full of brutal, cruel comedy that I love so much in this series. Set during the time when Boxy is "dead," we follow Fizzy as she steps out on her own to explore, get some well-earned praise, and take down a few meat bags along the way. The moon arc was enjoyable, and the new characters added a fresh layer to the madness.
That said, it definitely made me miss Boxy. There's a reason he's the main guy. I kept hoping he'd burst in, shout "shiny!" and hijack the plot like only he can. Fizzy holds her own, but Boxy's absence is felt.
As always, Soundbooth crushes it with the narration—top-tier performance that gave me just enough of the good stuff to tide me over until the next installment.
My Rating System: 5- Perfect for my taste, I could not physically stop reading/listening and wanted more afterward. 4- Almost perfect, could not stop reading/listening, probably wanted more afterward. 3- I enjoyed the book and could see others loving it, I need to think if I want more. 2- I can see why others might like the book, but I could not, I do not want more. 1- What is this? What went wrong? Why did they do this? This doesn't make any sense! (No idea who it is for, but definitely not for me).
This is a fun story, with a good plot, nice twists, and interesting characters. BUT it desperately needs a competent editor. I look forward to the Sound booth Theater production of this story. If history holds true, their narrators will resolve the bulk of the grammar issues that plague Neven Iliev’s written work.
I normally don’t read side stories but I’m glad I did. It’s everything we love about this universe just no Boxxy. But that’s ok. Fizzy holds her own in this book and I can’t wait to see them reunited.
3.75-4.0 stars. Too long. Audiobook could have been 4-5 hours shorter and been a much tighter story. The characters were overall good, except Draganova, I was kind of over her right away. But none of them were interesting enough for a 17 hour audiobook without boxy being present.

An interesting side story. I highly recommend listening to this book as an audiobook on sound booth theater. They have a version with background sound and interesting sound effects.
Fizzy’s troubled past is finally redeemed. Phenomenal, fleshed out characters, deeply imagined backdrops, and fantastically complex personalities. I absolutely love Neven’s writing! This may be an optional entry to the Chest series, but it’s a must read in my book.
I really enjoyed the book. That said, it needs a sequel since almost nothing she did is referenced in the main storyline and in fact skipped over completely (such as her replacing her wrench...which she did..but which she starts to do again in a later book...ignoring that she already did. also, the main storyline keeps referring to something that would've happened right after this book.
All the greatness of a murder box in a tiny shiny package! Having read the original series is basically required for this one, but it seems like reading this one will likely not directly or immediately impact the main story of Boxy.
Fizzy sweets off to live her own life with Boxy's 'demise' fresh on her mind. She picks up some unlikely companions, performs heretofore impossible tasks, and risks with powerful foes no one on Tascuna even knows exist. Besides all three main plot goodness, we also get some more world building treats about the Blight Lands continent. Also, definitely read the epilogue! Chaotic potential for future installments for sure!
Fizzy is a little annoying with her ego but having plus, minus and Tony was great fun. I really loved Tony so hope he is around at some point again in the future but fully understand it is not likely to happen. I love the chaos that they cause and the interlinking that comes in here. The challenges faced really had me smiling at times and laughing full boar at others. There were a couple of face palm moments that were a little predictable but otherwise hilarious. I loved seeing the chaos Fizzy causes while away from Boxxy.
