4.75 - 5 stars!

“I want you,” I replied as I took the glass from her and set it on the nightstand. “And I want to show you what that means. Will you let me, sweetheart? Will you let me take care of you the way a Dom should take care of a sub?” Not just a Dom, but a man, too. All men should treat their women this way, regardless of their lifestyle choices.”

Devastatingly sensual and erotic. Hauntingly hopeful. Adalyn has spent most of her life fighting silently against the cruel hand she was dealt. The elite world she was born into has a disgusting hierarchy where women are trained and sold and most of the men of that world are cowardly snakes. Stripped of her freedom and what it ACTUALLY means to be a submissive, this fiery woman has been broken and the pieces of her shattered soul left for her to try and salvage. Despite everything she’s been through, her spirit remains…hiding behind the demure facade she shows to the world. When she arrives on Asher’s island against her wishes and kills one of her torturers in life, well Asher sees her. Beneath the blood and carnage, Asher sees the stunningly beautiful and captivating woman just waiting to blossom under the right love and care. And he vows to himself that he is going to be the one to give her back control and the freedom she rightfully deserves.

“I would take care of her. Just like right now. Give her what she needed and ignore my own cravings. Because this was about her, not me. This was about grounding her, helping her find her own footing, and giving her a piece of herself back. Her own sense of control. Her own pleasure. Her own reason to breathe.”

Asher is the perfect Dom for Adalyn. He knew when to push and when to pull back. The way he coveted Adalyn and learned her cues and her limits was so romantic. The two of them exchanged power in the sexiest of ways and the development of trust between the two of them was breathtaking to read. Asher was deliciously dominant and the two of them together had me both swooning and feeling hot. He built a home for her heart and in turn found happiness in her embrace and submission. Adalyn’s inner monologue and her personal story was heartbreaking and it was easy to sympathize and feel her pain but Asher was her rock and her safety net just as she was Asher’s other half. She gave Asher what he had always been searching for…a challenge. Asher wanted an equal partner that always kept him on his toes and kept him always reaching to provide and love to the best of his ability. The two of them gave each other the peace and happiness they deserved and it was evident in their interactions in and outside the bedroom. Adalyn and Asher go through a lot and powerful men are determined to see them fail but together they’re a force.

“Are you wet for me, sweetheart?” I asked her, an idea coming to my mind.
“Yes, Mr. Sinner.”
“Prove it,” I said as I lowered my hand over her shoulder and opened it for her. “Take my tie and run it between your legs. Make it nice and wet for me and I’ll reward you.”

Passion, pain, trauma, redemption, healing and love wove a beautiful tale for Asher and his Adalyn. She healed in all the places his hands touched…painstakingly removing all the emotional shrapnel beneath her skin. If you’re a lover of darker BDSM-light stories, then you have to try this one. It’s worth it.

“If pleasure had a form, it was Adalyn. Delicious. Intoxicating. Addicting.”

P.S. Where is Julian’s story? I’m gonna need that one and also the rest of the intriguing men we were introduced to in this world.

Sooo... I decided to finish this book and I don't regret it. The beginning was a little rough for my current mood but I'm happy that I kept reading because as the story continued, I ended up really enjoying Adalyn and Asher's story. Asher was somewhat sweet. I can't wait to read Julian's story.

Dreams...

Dreams...

Asher Sinner - da m m mmm does that man live up to his name
The tension between him and Adalyn 🔥
That burn of desire that simmered just beneath the surface

Adalyn was a "bride in training" - a commodity for her father to wield like coin
She was fighting so hard not to become a shell of who she was
To escape the life of servitude to vile men who took pleasure in her defilement
When the opportunity arose to escape
She took it
Out of all the scenarios she foresaw
Asher was not one of them
Can she trust his actions?
His words?
Can he do the impossible?

This was such an emotional journey - yes there are some dark elements but the connection between Ash and Adalyn
The way Asher took care of her *licked him he is mine*
Her inner struggle to believe in him
The patience he showed while she tested the waters, found her footing in this new reality
🤗😍

I have never felt so bad reading a book. The fmc is groomed, raped and tortured from 16 leading up to now. She kills the main abuser and meets the love interest and their relationship is amazing! But through it all and in the end the entire trafficking system is still there even though they have a lot of powerful friends and the person who orders the torture is still alive.

Do no read this book if you cannot handle intense rape and torture and that they LET the evil characters get away with everything, the person in charge of the grooming system (that rapes and tortures) becomes a fried to the couple. He does not stop it. I feel sick to my stomach and I regret reading this book.

It has great potential with amazing couple and chemistry but letting traffickers and horrible people get away and all the bad people that the main couple associate with, makes it a horrible read and I wish I never read it

I have not had a book hangover for ages.

I'm lying in bed staring at the last page of this book and I'm thinking to myself, 'what the fuck am I supposed to do now?'

An absolutely, breathtakingingly, magnificent book!

I was so immersed in the pages of this book that at one point I looked up and was surprised to find myself in my own boring house and not on the majestic island.

Bravo!

I saw an excerpt of this on booktok and knew I had to read this. I was interested in the world that this lives in. Eight children inherited their father's islands for BDSM use. Asher owned a private island where people could explore and get away to be open to whatever kinks they gravitated towards. Adalyn is a girl who was groomed, an Elite Bride, since the age of sixteen. Now 22, she has a week of "training" left. She hasn't been properly trained though, she has just been used and abused by the man who couldn't care less about her other than the sick need to dominate her. Asher picks up on this when they first arrive. Asher's number one rule is consent and when he finds out that Nathan brought Adalyn here, clearly not of consent, he plans to react.

However, a turn of events and Adalyn kills Nathan in fear and grasps for freedom. She nearly dies in the water and so Asher and Adalyn's romance blooms. I am not usually for a romance brought out from pain and agony of a character. However, Adalyn has been broken in a state that this is her life. She knows where she stands, she wasn't taken from a normal life. Her parents literally were giving her away to a man because she was groomed to be an Elite Bride. Asher is probably the kindest and yet firm MMC I have read. He doesn't push her without making sure she knows that she calls the shots. There was never a moment that I felt like he took advantage of her at all.

I appreciate that the author took the time to introduce some of Asher's siblings but it wasn't so overwhelming that I couldn't tell what I was trying to digest. I like that there were enough people to fill out this world who all had a purpose and no one was solely used as a plot device alone. I think that the only reason for giving it less than five stars is because they don't really delve into the trauma of Adalyn killing Nathan. The timeline was quick because the plot demanded it but I feel like this was too perfect to make Asher and Adalyn's romance go from zero to sixty. Nonetheless, I loved this book. Definitely a great way to end a year of reading!

Not a bad book by any means I was just more invested in the smut than the plot. Honestly though, this book had some very game changing smut scenes, the office scene 🫠🫠🫠 girlies. If you know you know. That scene alone - 5/5 stars.

6/5!! ⭐️ EASY!!! Asher and Adalyn ❤️

One of the best books I’ve ever read, I wish I could keep reading it forever, never allow it to end! but that was bound to happen eventually.. Around 4 months? to read a book I probably could’ve finished in 2 sittings? And still craving more of it?! Yup, that’s top, top tier. 🥲❤️

It is heavily catered to my taste, I definitely won’t be recombining it lightly. Also, I’m currently wondering why I never thought about reading books with master/pet couples. I should get on it. 🖤

It also inspired so many writing sessions, and I think it will continue to inspire more. ✍🏼

___

⭐️ Favourites:

• Asher is soooo attentive, from the get go!! He noticed all of her little weary signs, and he paid attention the red flags as soon as he meet her. Bless him. 😭

• Romance, and suspense. I started this book with no expectations, just knew that it had similar tropes to my writing, and oh my.. It had my heart RACING! for nearly an hour! Just. Wow. 🤌🏼

• “Hell, I was happy about that savage scene. Because it meant Nathan was dead. Good. Fucking. Riddance.”— I laughed, because F**k that man. 😀

• The way he took the blame for the murder, to protect her. To make her his. No ONE will touch her: “Welcome to my world, sweetheart. You're about to find out what it means to be mine.” 🥰

• He gave her his shirt to wear! Fastened it around her body himself! “I followed his look, my lips parting upon seeing the scratch marks I’d left on his skin. Shit. If I'd done that to Nate, he would have strangled me, Yet Asher... Asher had barely touched me. He'd forced me to wear a shirt instead.” — I love it. 😌

• “Do you want me to arrange a wardrobe for her?” — Why did that get me so hard! And the way Asher asked her what *she* likes to wear before answering!!! 🥲

• He bathes her. To help her trust him. So soft. So gentle. My heart! 😭

• "Have you ever been given a safeword?" rephrased. "One you could actually use?" — That entire scene. ❤️‍🩹

• When he asked what kind of reward she like, and she said no sharing for a week, then lowered it to merely 24 hours so she can just recover! Him: "Oh, sweet girl. I'll give you more than a week. I'll give you a lifetime, if that's what you want." — This poor girl needs him. 🥺❤️

• Asking if she wanted to eat by the beach, because he could see that she liked the scene! When she didn’t answer, because she was worried about kneeling on the stone patio, he reassured her so lovingly, as his staff brought in cushions and furniture for them. 😭❤️

• Her first reward; A safe word. A word she can use at any time without repercussion. Twice, if she ate well. She chose “Dreams”, because this mere act of his is like a dream to her. I can’t.. 🥹

• Asher: "I want you to pretend you're alone on this island," I breathed against her ear. "You've escaped the horrors of your past. No one can touch you here. No one can hurt you. Every decision is your own. This is a new day. Your first day. And you get to choose where you eat. What you eat. What you drink." — I cried. I forgot to breathe. The healing.. 🤌🏼

• Not me crying when he ordered her a hot chocolate.. It’s 2am, a book shouldn’t make me this emotional, but this softness.. 🥹

• The kiss, and his “help” in the swimming pool. She deserved that! 👌🏼

• He is a great cook! His famous grilled cheese. 🧀

• Pulling her into his lap to stop her from kneeling by his side. In front of others. 🤭

• Talking about kinks, learning the other’s preferences. So good! So healthy! 🙏🏼

• “I ate my food earlier.” She wanted a reward, (even though she didn’t really eat) SHE’S SO FREAKING CUTE! 🥹

• Ch20!!!! The exhibitionism kink. 🔥

• Cooking dinner together, while his sister interrogated her, and he was being so cute! ❤️

• I cried at the situation she got to use her safe word in, but omg, Asher’s anger was amazing to read. His entire chapter was kill kill kill, but he needed leverage, so it got amusing with how badly he needed to hold his temper. For her. 🙏🏼

• Ch26-29 “We’re about to begin a scene.” 🌶️❤️

• Even the aftercare was too perfect.. 🥹

• Taunting him about stuffed French toast with Kane. (His brother) I love that they became instant allies. 😂

• The side characters in this book are so interesting, I wondered if Julian and Brianna have their own book after a few lines! 🤌🏼 (THEY DO. COMING SOON)

• “Asher would burn this island to the ground before allowing Taylor to take me.” 🔥

• "Kneel for me, Adalyn," — For him. 🥰

• Julian was the KING at the meeting. I loved how he treated Taylor, like the spoiled imbecile that he is, and how he sided with Asher, and played all of the cards right to ensure that Adalyn becomes his. He is brilliant! 😈

• The last chapter! The spice! It is too good.. Wow. Wow.. Wow. 🥵🌶️

• They get married! (Kind of thanks to Julian) and they are free! And happy! And I love them so much!!! 🥹

• Lastly, this book raised my standards to the roof!! 📈 Thank you, Asher. Sir. 📈

This was a really good book. It was an interesting read with a good plot. Simple to follow and entertaining but what made it really good for me was the little things the author did. For example, the writer introduced this character with severe trauma and they kept it throughout the entirety of the book, even in the parts that could be deemed unnecessary because it can be easily looked over. Especially with a book of this nature where the female MC falls in love with the rich and sometimes bad guy that obsessed with her. It was little things like this that made the book and the progression of the characters and relationships seem more realistic. It wasn't all fairytales and rainbows with her just forgetting all about her trauma because she met him and he was nice to her.

The character development was also very well-done, again, seeming very organic because it stayed true to her, meaning Adalyn's trauma. A particular detail that stood out to me that I absolutely loved was when Adalyn said that she recognized happiness on someone else's face because she often saw it n her roommate's. It really showed that this woman has not been happy for a VERY long time.

I also like that the relationship that developed between these two was actually quite healthy and not toxic, with him even giving up a bit of his dominance in small instances but instances that can be viewed as big for her because of her lack of trust in people. He truly did put her comfort over everything else. There was a point/factor/idea that I wished the author had developed better, but other than that I really liked this book, and binged it. The only other thing I genuinely didn't like was that this seems to be a series where each book is written by a different author, and I REALLY liked this author. it makes me very hesitant to read the other books because I don't know the other authors' writing styles and I don't want a good book series to be ruined for me.

The grammar was great.
The tone and finesse with the words were great and well done, seems to be a seasoned writer. (Sex scenes were a 3/5 for me. Well written, but nothing amazing that stuck with me)
The plot was VERY well thought out with good tension building and a great plot twist with everything flowing and making sense.
The world-building was also VERY well done (especially for a book that's in a series but is being read as a standalone. At no point was I lost or confused).
Character development was, again, great and realistic.
The conflict of the book was very captivating and entertaining.
I felt very attached to the characters as I was reading with everyone being so easy to love.
The ending was very appropriate and satisfying for the book and its genre/nature.
I don't think, however, that I would rush to read this book again, though it was a nice and entertaining read.

* My Ratings *
Goodreads - 4/5
My Scale (based on everything listed above) - 8/10
For what it was (rating of the book based on its genre, themes, and solely what it was meant to be read as) - 5/5
General (rating based on when I take all the other books I've read into consideration) - 3/5

Asher Sinner is all about control and submission with consent. He owns Sinner's Isle where the rich can come and live out their darkest fantasies and desires. He has it all or he thought until the day he finds her floating on the waves covered in blood. His world is turned upside down when Adalyn finds her way into his protection. What he doesn't realize that there is more to this woman then meets the eye and she will be his even if it costs him his life. Will they survive to see a happily ever after with his sweet lil sub. Or will the sins of the past come back to take her away from him.
Asher is well he is what can we say about him. He is well basically sex on a stick, but he is also a protector. He will go to the ends of the earth to protect what is his. There is a softer side to him also that he shows to Adalyn. Adalyn well she is broken, abused for so many years by the man who was supposed to be training her to be submissive. There is a fire in her though and she is very resilient. They are so well written and complex. They truly will grab your heart.
This is one of these books that go to the dark side of kink and dark fantasies. The story is gripping and complex and the characters are well written. The author really takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I couldn't put the book down and most of the time i was either on the edge of my seat or fanning myself. There are some trigger warnings about the book that include knife play. So, if you want a dark sexy standalone check, it out.

First of all, please, please read the TW before jumping into this book.

The story starts (more or less lol) with the FMC who is being raped, shared and tortured since she was 16 under the guise of "training" to be a bride for a douche-bag within a network that trains brides like this. Her and the trainer go to the MMC's island for a week of terror (for her) but the MMC notes immediately something is wrong.

There is almost and real torture on page - although briefly - and her previous training is mentioned, as well as the trainer's plans for the week.

It was HARD for me to read those parts and imagining what the FMC has gone through. I just kept going because the treatment of this disgrace by the author was impeccable. It was always shown to us as the most dreadful thing and not in a sexy manner.

What I absolutely loved was how the author developed the recovery from trauma and the amazing characters.
The FMC is incredibly amazing!!! She never lost her fight, she was strong and vulnerable and mature beyond her years. She did everything she could to try to recover and always a sensitive and selfless person.
The MMC is just dreamy. He risked his life and island to save her and keep her. He treated her like a princess and his patience and care for her during the hard times was amazing. He always put her and her recovery first. In everything.

As to the smut, I thought I would feel it forced because her trauma. But nooooooooo! Trust me! And a IYKYK moment: office scene 🥵

I loved this book.
Bu it's not one to read in every mood....

Adalyn arrives on an island, along with her trainer, who has called this visit her “graduation ceremony” from her bridal training. The weird dynamic between the two peaks the interest of the owner, Asher, as he senses something is not quite right with the relationship.

Before long he finds something has gone extremely wrong and from there the book follows their path towards healing, love and spicy scenes, unraveling the story of a relationship that is centred around communication and a healthy Sub/Dom relationship.

This book had me hooked, I couldn’t get enough of Asher and Adalyn together, their dynamic was beautiful and really managed to capture the essence of what a real Dom is.
I did shed a few tears at some scenes, relating to some of Adalyn’s past, but what really made this a book to remember wasn’t the bad parts, it was the way Asher helped her heal from all the hurt she had been through.
He was protective, loving and most of all he put her needs first, always ensuring her safety and consent.

This book has definitely become one that sits close to my heart, and I will most definitely be rereading it.

Please be aware of the triggers for this book, there are some rough scenes in it besides that I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in dark romance.

Adalyn is brought to Asher Sinner’s island as a final step in her Elite Bride training. She doesn’t want it. She’s never had control of her life, and even though she knows that it really won’t set her free, she’s had enough. But their arrival on the island immediately piques Asher’s interest. His number one rule for island guests is consent, and he is getting the exact opposite vibe from them. But things escalate quickly for Adalyn, and when pain leads to violence and desperation, Asher quickly becomes entangled in a world he never wanted a part of. But for her, he’s fast realizing, he’ll do almost anything.

Asher’s protective, alpha dom vibe is panty melting hotness. But Adalyn isn’t able to trust anyone - every person in her life, included her parents, has facilitated her controlled and pain filled existence. As Asher tries bit by bit to show her she can trust him, he works on finding a way to free her from the life she so clearly wants to be away from. Their D/s relationship is the perfect combination of strength, power, lust, and gentleness. The way he learns to read her, and the way she slowly opens herself up to him is beautiful and sweet, while also scorchingly dirty and satisfying. As they maneuver their way through this world neither of them wants, they find strategic and perfect ways to get exactly what they want and need. It’s not an easy journey, especially for Adalyn. And Asher is finding himself in circumstances he never thought were things he wanted. I loved how everything came together, the D/s power dynamic at all times being exactly what it needed to be for both of them, and ultimately giving them exactly what they need.

dark premise but a surprisingly tender and light feel

I really enjoyed my time reading this book. Adalyn has had her life stolen from her from an early age, being born for the sole purpose of being some wealthy assholes plaything in a arranged marriage for business deals.

Adalyn and her trainer Nathan come to Asher Sinners isle for a “present” and Adalyn finally gets some much needed revenge but while doing so caused a massive ripple effect that now Asher has to pay for. Lucky for Adalyn he is enamored by her from the moment he sees her. Along the journey of trying to sort this mess out Asher helps Adalyn get her power back and find her strength again and helps her heal the wounds that have been inflicted on her mentally and emotionally over the last several years.

Asher is patient, and kind and so warm with the way he handles Adalyn, it was beautiful watching their story unfold and Adalyn learning to trust again.

It’s not very spicy, maybe .5🌶 compared to what I normally read but I really enjoyed this story and I’m looking forward to reading her other stories

TW- mentions of assault and assault of children and murder.

If I could give this book a zero I would. I don’t know why when we think about dark romance and sexual taboo. The assault of a minor is a part of that. I think it is highly inappropriate and completely unnecessary to include pedophilia as a part of, any story truly but specifically a story about BDSM and romance. I got maybe 60 pages into this book maybe even less. I got all the way up to the murder of Nathan and the discovery of his abuse by the main male character before I DNF’d this book - which is early in the book. I hate when authors include that level of abuse in a fictional, dark romance type of book. Ut feels only there for the sake of displaying how horrible a person/people is/are, but the rape of minors is unnecessarily intense/horrifying for the kind of book this is trying to be. Even the network that the characters are meant to be a part of seems vile in a way that does not fit the kind of story being told. This was the first book in The series that I read, and I have no intentions of picking up any book in the series or by this author.

I love all of this author’s words. Doesn’t matter what pen name, what genre, how dark etc. I will devour her words.

And I’m happy to report that I just did that again with Isle of Sin.

This author has a way of taking you to your limit and then wringing that little bit more out of you for good measure. This book just exudes filth, depravity and yes, you guessed it, SIN! I mean it is her pen name so that works.

I will tell you that its not many times that I fall in love with the heroine. I have that much bitterness and jealousy when it comes to these women that I often find myself not connecting with them. But for some reason, I really did with Adalyn. She had this fierceness and a fighting spirit that you just couldn’t help endear to. I felt myself rooting for her the entire journey.

Asher was the bread to Adalyn’s butter, the salt to her pepper and everything else that just makes sense. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s hot! I loved the dynamic between these too characters. She’s wanting freedom and he will move mountains to ensure that happens. That right there is love that not so many people experience.

I will happily devour anything and everything this author throws us our way.

I love this book!
As soon as I started it I couldn’t put it down - the plot was amazing - Adalyn wasn’t pictured as some helpless damsel instead having a fire and a will to fight back which is always good to see.

Asher was a great hero for the story - always helping Adalyn be comfortable and happy and risking his business in the process.

As for the spicy scenes - I loved the first few so so much! They were amazing in a way that gave you 🦋 right where you want them!
I wasn’t too sure about the last one in the book as it was supposed to be a very final and important connection of trust between them that I just feel could of been a little different.

As for the dark themes they only took up so much of the book and didn’t drag the story down and you could move passed them without the need to think of the horrible things too much.

I really liked how as soon as Asher was involved the dark scenes got lighter and lighter.

The chemistry between the two characters was so sweet! Definitely worth a read!

This book was recommended to me and I am so glad that it was. It hit everything my dark heart needed. I devoured this book. So let’s talk about it. 😉

**Blurb**
There are three rules on Sinners Isle. Submit. Obey. Consent. Adalyn Rose didn’t consent. And the one who brought her here paid the ultimate price. Now she’s mine to care for. Mine to train. Mine to protect. A sweet little heiress with a heart of gold. And a body built for sin. She’ll kneel for me because she wants to. Then we’ll explore her limits. Assuming her past doesn’t come for us first. Because her world of wealth and sin is filled with dark secrets. Including one that may just cost me my life.

Asher Sinner is for sure one of those men that I would obey without question. 🥵 The natural dominance and praise he extrudes is, for lack of a better phrase, panty dropping. Adalyn is strong as hell. To go through what she did requires so much strength and my heart is so happy that she got her HEA! 💗 Adalyn deserves the world and I know Asher will give it to her! Such a fabulous read!

I must say that there is there aspects in this book of violence , BDSM, sexual , and torture, but I have to admit the story behind is interesting and it's well written. As a child Adalyn Rose was given as an Elite Bride who are tutored in everything sexual , good and bad that have been requested by the man who they are given to be married to. Asher Sinner is one of 8 siblings who deal in safe BDSM business given to them by their father. After Adalyn has planned to finish being the toy to a man, she kills him after he has threatened her, hurt her and plans to do more. But after killing she knows that the people who she was given to will find her and she will dissaper and not in a good way. Asher sees something in Adalyn and plans to keep an eye on her. But finding her in the ocean bleeding is not what he expected. They have to come together and find away to save her from the Elite group. Adalyn and Asher are great and I really enjoyed their interactions

Didn’t Expect to Love it but Absolutely Did!

I saw this book a few times TikTok. I had been avoiding reading it since books with female submissive (or just heterosexual D/S relationships in general) aren’t my thing.

I decided to try it anyways because the premise seemed interesting. And I was really surprised with how much I liked it! The author did such an amazing job with showcasing what D/S relationships should be. Coming from someone who typically doesn’t enjoy that kink, I found myself immersed in Adalyn’s journey of embracing her submissive side.

Asher was an amazing Dom as well. His priority throughout the story was Adalyn’s happiness and well-being, as it should be. He works throughout the book to enforce health communication and trust with his sub and it was heartwarming to read.

As long as you’re going into the story aware of the cw/tw, I’d definitely recommend!

I couldn't put this book down, i gobbled it... Everything I like, dark but with a white knight, a path to recovery with a strong but also lost FMC, a dumpling of BDSM and a little bit if a plot...

There are only two things that bothered me a bit, first the amalgam between slave as in real slavery and slave as in a BDSM dynamic. This should be clearer than it was at some moments in the book. And also, that's perhaps because I'm french but the "my female this" and "my female that" was a bit cringe. But all other things had butterflies flying in my stomach.

Also, it could have been spicier but honestly, it's a recovery story so it's normal that they're not fucking 24/7.

If you like dark romance as in human slavery, secret society, troubled past, recovery, edging, praising, sir, possessive dom... Go for it
