Forever Mine

♥ Aiden Maxwell is going home! ♥

Going home causes so many mixed emotions for me. I don't know which one to focus on.

The only two things I wanted to leave my hometown for were, college and to be a pitcher in the MLB. I had a sports scholarship already secured and the MLB career seemed a sure thing. I was good, and I knew it. College and the pro career were only to pass my time. I had a forever goal in mind and she was in Hayden Falls.

A split-second decision when I was eighteen changed my life. I lost everything, her included. I wasn't sorry for why I made that life-altering decision. If given the chance, I'd do it again. I was sorry for what it had cost me. Mainly because of her. She was engaged now. I had waited too long to go home.

Today, because of a tour bus accident, I was going home. Home to a town that had written me off years ago. Home to watch the woman I loved marry someone else.

I wasn't going to survive this.

♥ Forever Mine is the first book in the Hayden Falls series ♥

Hayden's Happenings

A broken hand gets Aiden Maxwell back to Hayden. He has memories of the place and the only memory that he loves is that of Etrulia. But he never encouraged it between him and het, because she was just fifteen when he turned eighteen.

Besides he had come home for a few weeks and there at Hayden he had discovered that Etrulia or E was engaged to another man - Garret Preston.

The story moves to E and it is clear that she also loves Aiden and she is no longer engaged, but she is unwilling to take this any further.

Slowly the reasons come out as Aiden, the deputy sheriff, goes into E's past to investigate it further.

Brady, Aiden's brother is sweet, just for what he did the first time that Aiden came back to town. Spencer was tough and good. Beth was by far the sweetest friend that E has and the way she takes care of E - calling Rachel and handling the other things, after every 'episode' makes her even more endearing. Roland Crawford, as Aiden's classmate and irritant to Aiden was another interesting character, though he comes only in one scene.

Garret was unpredictable and though he comes only in the end in person, his activities come to light through the others and his actions are the reason that the mystery seeps in, in the slow town. The slow building of the romance between the lead pair was sweet. The romance between Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell after twenty seven years was very lovely to read about.

Enjoyable, small town romance with a mystery woven in it.

The storyline caught my attention when this book was offered as an ARC from Hidden Gems.

Unfortunately, this book checks a couple of my pet peeves which greatly diminished my enjoyment of the book. It aggravates me to no end when authors write a storyline about some secret one of the main characters has from their past, they keep it secret even from the reader and then just keep alluding to it and dancing around it for a huge portion of the book. It’s even worse when the story is told from the POV of the character with the secret and they seem to be talking to themselves. Just no!

In my opinion this approach builds up a ridiculous level of anticipation that the unveiling of almost any secret would be hard to fulfill, but when the secret is literally as ridiculous as what took place in this book - the decision to ruin Aiden’s life when it is finally revealed around the 70% mark.

In my opinion, if the events are acknowledged in the beginning of a story to where the reader is in the know about ‘the secret’ then the author can use his/her writing skills to weave the repercussions of that event through the book until it is revealed within the book to the other characters.

The actual storyline is a super sweet, small town, second chance romance between characters who were only ever good friends, but not so secretly loved each other. The story is told from dual POVs, and is Hallmark movie-esque.

I received a free ARC from the author and Hidden Gems; I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

This is my favorite series so far! I love this author's books but small towns are definitely my favorite reads. This series branched from another one, The Dawson Boys. I loved Aiden Maxwell in the first two books of that series. But this, whew! I love Aiden! I'm so glad he finally went home to face his past and to tell the woman he loves how he feels about her. It's a sweet second chance story.

Forever Mine is the 1st book in the Hayden Falls series by Debbie Hyde. It was a little slow to start but the characters were so real you felt like you knew them. E and Aiden were in love as teenagers but a bad incident happened to Aiden and he left town. There was a secret he was carrying and she was one of the only people in town who wholeheartedly believed in him. When he returns they slowly fall back in love and get closer then ever. A man from her past threatens their future but they finally get their HEA. Can not wait to read the next story.

I received this book as an Arc and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I absolutely LOVE THIS BOOK! There's so much going on but I never got lost or confused. There were even times that something would be brought up and then fade into the background and I'd forget about it just to pop up later as a cool little surprise! Kinda like mini stories in the midst of the main story. Anyway wonderful well thought out and written characters located in a cool little town that I hope to be seeing more of! The story is just awesome! I'll definitely be looking for more by Ms Hyde! I'm going to look into the Dawson books right now! I highly recommend this book!

I received an ARC copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a new author to me and I absolutely throughly enjoyed reading this book.
Aiden and E's history is so sad yet romantic. She kept tabs on Aiden all the 6 years he was gone from Hayden Falls, sent him sweet little messages to cheer him up.
Brilliant storyline, fantastic characters and loved the HEA.

I love Aiden Maxwell!!! He was great in the first two books of The Dawson Boys! I'm so glad he starts this small-town series. The characters are great. I know some people like a few of these. lol. Four and Pit are so funny. I'm glad Aiden finally went home. His story is amazing. Can't wait to read more of the wonderful, silly, and great characters of Hayden Falls.

This book did not disappoint. It kept me wanting to keep reading when I needed to stop. Sometimes I didn’t stop when I needed to. I loved all the different characters in all of their personalities. The interaction of everyone together was so cool and fun to watch. Definitely a book to read again!

E and Aiden were in love as teens, but Aiden left for a long time after something happens. He's got a secret (E believed him). He breaks his hand and ends up back in his hometown. Someone threatens E, but the two grow closer, so she and Aiden get their HEA. If you like small town romance, this is great. The characters were fleshed out, and the story flowed great!

I enjoyed this book. The author did a good job of keeping you guessing what the whole story was for both E and Aiden. I look forward to seeing more about others in Hayden Falls.

Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review

Both main characters are somewhat damaged, and they deal with a small town that is relentless and vicious in its gossip. Of course we readers are glad they make it, and it all works out, so it's the kind of book you'll really like if you like a good clean romance that draws you in. My only issue is that the author goes back and forth between present and past a lot - very distracting for a careful reader.

Engaging read

A captivating, second chance romantic story of Aiden and E (short for Etrulia) with hidden feelings for each other. The bond is rekindled after Aiden returns home. And there's also a hidden secret to be revealed.
The simple narrative, relatable characters and the engaging plotline makes it a great read.

Wow

Of all Debby Hyde's novels, this one is by far my favourite.
Aiden is a fool, the way he wanted to fight every guy who was close to E pissed me off.
How did he think she was surviving before he returned to Hayden falls.
He was not even dating her by that time.
And again he showed his weakness when he wanted to cancel their first date due to the old man and his grandson.
But I'm glad they finally became happy together.
This is a good book.

What an amazing story of a small town boy who met a small town girl and thought he had lost his chance with her. I loved the ins and outs of these 2 trying to figure out how to open themselves up to each other although both scared to be rejected. This is a clean sweet romance that you don’t want to miss with a little bit of thriller just to spice it up. And if your like me and sweet moments just tear you up as well as characters moving through past traumas, then have a couple tissues handy.

such a sweet story

This was a nice read! Such a sweet story set in a small town. I honestly was rooting for A and E. This story just kept me engaged from the first page abs the author did a great job of weaving twists to keep you wanting more. It’s a nice fade to black romance read.

Forever Mine was a sweet small town story with some well written characters. This was a story about family, friendships, and love. They knew one another when they were young, but sometimes living in a small town things don't always go the way you plan and you go your separate way. Now six years have gone by and he is on his way home. This is just the start to a cute sweet story. If you enjoy small town romances this is the story for you.

This book may not be for everyone, but I loved it! You’ll need tissues for this one…it definitely pulls at your heartstrings.

While the beginning is a tad convoluted, the overall storyline is really good; the characters really touch your heart; the plot twists and turns keep you guessing; and the HEA…amazing!

You definitely want to grab a copy of this book today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️

A Nice Read

This was a fun and easy read. Aiden and E had been in love with each other for years, but they failed to reveal this, or their secrets, to each other. There were a few plot twists to keep the story interesting. Although one could consider this a romance, the author did a nice job in keeping the scenes of intimacy to kissing, with only inferences to more. A good start to the series.

This is the first book by Debbie Hyde that I've read. Wasn't sure what to expect but I fell in love with Aiden and E along with many other characters in Hayden Falls. The romance and a little mystery all tied together wonderfully. I'm glad there is more to come in this series.

I can not wait to read more.

Loved this romance story, it's and easy read with a few twists. Don't want to say too much and give anything away but it keeps you engaged with the characters until the end. This would be perfect for a holiday read, or a lazy day at home.

An enjoyable read

An enjoyable story with interesting side characters. Basically, it’s a small-town romance. Quite a few plot twists to keep the story interesting.

It’ll be even better if the author can minimize the use of the word “but” and dialogue tags (hundreds of “but”, “asks”, “say”…)

sweet friends to lovers

This book started off a bit slow for me, but once it got going I definitely enjoyed it. It’s the first book in the series about the people of this town which actually makes me want to read the other books. Though I wasn’t a fan of the extreme possessiveness of the mmc, their story was cute and I loved a lot of the side characters that were introduced, so I can safe it’s safe to assume they will be main characters in the other books. Yay! Overall, a sweet read.

I loved this book so much, I had to buy the entire series. The first book I read by this author, Holding Her, has Aiden as one of the characters, so I knew I wanted to the Hayden Falls series. Forever Mine is a sweet romance about Aiden and E (Etrulia). Aiden has secretly loved E for years, only it wasn’t as big of a secret as he thought, lol. E has also loved Aiden, but she never thought they’d be anything but friends. She was even engaged, but she doesn’t even want to remember that or what happened to end things. When Aiden returns home injured, after the tour bus accident, he’s determined to let E know how he feels. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say if you love sweet, small town romance, you’ll really enjoy this book. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series to see what happens with all these amazing characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from BookSirens and this is my voluntary and honest review.
