Wow! I sure wish that I'd had this comprehensive guide in my hands decades ago, before I started growing my own fruit trees. I learned largely through trial and error.
If I’d had Poizner’s fabulous introductory guide, I would have saved myself a lot of time and money. This book covers all the basics on how to grow fruit trees: where to buy your trees and how to select the best kinds and varieties of fruit trees for you at your place; where to plant trees – how to consider sun, soil depth, soil fertility and water needs for your young trees. And how to plant and support young trees to get them off to a good start.
Highly recommended for those new to growing fruit trees and I also found it useful for those who have some experience. I’ve grown fruit trees for decades and learned some new tips and techniques from “Grow Fruit Trees Fast”.
Full disclosure, I received an advance copy of the book because I asked to be involved in the book launch.
This is a must read for Fruit Tree Beginners ! Very thorough & detail oriented by Susan Poizner. She details & covers the complete purchase, planting, care & all issues related to growing & sustaining healthy fruit trees . Highly recommended & I look forward to learning more about her extensive knowledge & experience concerning fruit trees . She’s definitely the “Fruit Tree Doctor “ 👍
It's potentially a good book for very beginner gardeners who are just starting on their journey. It's hard to find anything to feel refreshed on as a more seasoned gardener, though. It was disappointing to find that many of the topics pointed to the online classes for more information. Good 30,000-foot view on growing fruit trees, but with few specifics. Most would have to find another book or resource to gain a real grasp on what to do.
Has good, accurate, basic information for those who have never gardened before. Not much here for more advanced growers, and much of the book is links to the author's podcasts, blog, and paid courses, interspersed with anecdotes from the author's experience with a Canadian community garden in a public park.
This well written book has much valuable information. I appreciate how the author has researched the topic as well as shared her personal experiences. Anyone who is considering adding fruit trees to their green space needs this guide!
You short ebook was a joy to read. I now know why my apple tree is not producing well. I will implement some of your suggestions and hope to have a healthy bumper crop of apples this year. I greatly appreciate the fact that you have offered this book to readers for free. Thank you for sharing your hard earned first hand knowledge.
