Rock bottom feels like home to Stark Wulfson. What he can’t cope with are meaningful relationships, so he’s bounced around from werewolf Pack to werewolf Pack, fighting anyone who so much as looks at him wrong. His nomadic life has come to an end when he lands in a Pack under the new Alpha, Daylen Hoda. The Promise Falls Pack is terrifying to a man like Stark for two reasons. One, if he allows it, the wolves here could be friends, but friendship comes at a very steep cost to his inner wolf. And two, there is a beautiful, mouthy, tough-as-nails but completely vulnerable fox shifter female hanging right on the outskirts of Pack territory. Something with very sharp teeth is hunting Lyndi Mosley, and normally, Stark wouldn’t sign up to be anyone’s hero, this this sexy little vixen is becoming more and more interesting by the day. It isn’t just the hell that she’s enduring that has his wolf yearning to protect her…it’s the way she’s handling the storm. Lyndi is a rare find, and a delicious challenge for a werewolf in need of a good fight.
Lyndi Mosley is going through a complete overhaul of her life, and right in the middle of that transition, in steps a testy werewolf with control issues. It’s clear as day that Stark’s inner monster runs the show, but in his own strange way, he is stepping up to bat for her. She always thought the Lost Wolf hated her. Truth be told, she always thought he hated everyone, but he’s showing her a tender side she didn’t know existed. He’s hot and cold and confusing…here one day and gone the next, but the more she finds out about Stark’s secret life, the more she thinks there may be more to him than even his own Pack realizes. And even more interesting…no one has figured out what he really is yet. No one but Lyndi.
Don’t miss this riveting second book in the Wolves of Promise Falls series, a spin-off of T. S. Joyce’s bestselling Oath of Bane series.
Nothing is what it seems in Promise Falls.
Content Warning: Explicit love scenes, naughty language, and piles of sexy shifter secrets. Intended for mature audiences.
T.S. Joyce is devoted to bringing hot shifter romances to readers. Hungry alpha males are her calling card, and the wilder the men, the more she'll make them pour their hearts out. She werebear swears there'll be no swooning heroines in her books. It takes tough-as-nails women to handle the shifters of Bear Valley.
She lives in a tiny town, outside of a tiny city, and devotes her life to writing big stories. Foodie, bear whisperer, ninja, thief of tiny bottles of awesome smelling hotel shampoo, nap connoisseur, movie fanatic, and zombie slayer, and most of this bio is true.
Bear Shifters? Check Smoldering Alpha Hotness? Double Check Sexy Scenes? Fasten up your girdles, ladies and gents, it's gonna to be a wild ride.
Stark had some hidden complexities come to light in this one, though I wish we got a little more world building with the foxes for whatever was going on there. The screw ups are less screwed up in this instalment, and we get Dalton and Daylen but little else of the crew. It's slightly less insta-love than usual (not that I mind, but some people do) and full of murderously protective vibes. Which usually I think: no, violence is not attractive on an answer. But apparently that doesn't count when there are werewolves, because I was all for Stark teaching some lessons.
This one surprised me. I liked how Stark was there for Lyndi, while she thought he was seeing her at her worst, he was really there holding her up. Later on Lyndi returned the favor for him, which was something he sorely needed. I liked how this one ended, loved the secret one pack member had, but better was Lyndi's secret.
Never saw Stark and Lyndi together. They seemed so far apart. Finding a person to protect and a person to see more in you can bring people together. Her ex and his family were nothing but roadkill. They did not deserve anything and yet they felt they deserved it all. How low can people go. Rich get richer off of those who work hard. Just ridiculous. Honestly that whole council meeting was ridiculous. Anyone can make stuff up. Ahhh just infuriates me. One of the things I like most about how T.S. Joyce writes is how she draws me into the feelings and emotions of the characters. She does such a wonderful job. I love these characters. Yes I am invested in all of her characters especially the ones who are bad trying to survive life. The ending was the best. I was hoping that is how it was going to end. What will make it better .... Twins and cousins! Great story T.S. Joyce! So ooo good!
If you've never read one of TS Joyce's books you don't know what you're missing. Hot alpha males whose mates steady them and make them stronger. Stark keeps a tight hold on his wolf until he and Lyndi become an item. She's a fox shifter who had been paired with another fox shifter for five years. Jake was a loser who lied before their council so he could be free of her. Lyndi was devastated but found an unexpected champion in Stark. Their journey is hard and full of danger but in the end their bond becomes stronger. From the start you get caught up in the lives of the characters and it's an emotional experience. Absolutely loved the story and can't wait for the next book.
Another crazy wolf, this one even believes that he is not redeemable, and it's almost ready for his end, but when he starts taking an interest in the sister of his alpha's mate, it all changes. Stark doesn't do labels, but his actions speak loud and clear, and what he does for Lyndi is loud and clear. With a broke pairing and all alone, Lyndi's word is falling apart, but Stark is there to help her stay upright. It's a weird alliance of a wolf and a fox, but it worked for Daylen and Denver.
Both of them have to face a lot of obstacles to be together, but the struggle only makes it better. Both help each other heal, and when Stark is finally forced to face his true nature and his feelings, he finally becomes the person he was always supposed to be.
Fantastic adventure with wonderful fox shifter h bullied by her ex, and both his family and her parents. The H is awesome, brutal and very protective of the h. Loved this couple and the ending was outstanding.
I laugh more while reading this author's books than any other. I loved the irreverence of this,
“‘Lyndi and Jake’ had been carved into the seat. Now he tried not to get too sentimental about it, because the words ‘Farts for Sale’ and ‘Beans are Not the Magical Fruit’ had also been carved into the bench….”
Sometimes things that seem like they're weighty and important, really aren't.
And take this scene which was really serious but gets diffused so easily,
“Denver appeared beside her, held up a spray can of Febreze, and pulled the little trigger. A fine mist of berry-and-bramble scented fog engulfed Jake’s face. “Begone, demon.””
Misogynistic comments aside, which makes no sense in a shifter world where females are deadly and vicious, this is hilarious,
“I shouldn’t even be surprised that you let them kill me. You’ve always been a selfish prick!” “You’re the one who is mad at me for something that happened in a dream, you fucking girl!” Lyndi cocked her head. “I’m slightly offended.” “Fasten up your girdle, sis,” Denver told her. “They’ll say way stupider stuff once they get going.”
Given how the story rounded out, it's no wonder Marsden was hurt by this. I loved this description of him (and it may have resonated with my own self),
“Marsden has barely said two words to me ever.” “Give it time. He is like a pack of frozen hamburger meat. He takes a long time to defrost, but is worth the wait.”
This is the second book in this series. I think they should be read in order. Stark is the lost wolf. He has bounced from pack to pack. Fighting and killing. This pack is his last chance. Lyndi Mosley is Denver’s sister from book one. Lyndi has done everything that has been expected from her by her family and the fox community. Where did it get her, about to be cast out and left by her mate. Stark is there for Lyndi even when she doesn’t want him to be. He is the friend she needs. Stark’s wolf wants her as more than a friend. Could she be the thing that calms the wolf and gives him something to focus on? This book was fantastic. I love Lyndi and Stark’s relationship. They balance each other out so much. He allows her to be a little wild and she brings him calm and focus. There is more to Stark than he allows people to see. But, Lyndi sees it anyway. She is going to get him to share some of that with the rest of his pack. This book had me laughing so much. So many great lines. T.S. Joyce has done it again. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Hands down one of the best story lines. Stark always reminded me of Clinton from Damon’s mountains. I wondered and hoped about this Stark.
Stark doesn’t disappoint. The last part of the book, I had to put it down for bit and digest what happens. I was trying to figure out how Stark and Lydia and the rest of the fall a promise pack was going to survive and overcome Tessa and her drama.
I didn’t see the curveball. I knew in the scheme of things that the pack had to overcome it and would. But the breakdown and how it happened was unexpected. I would like to know more about Stark’s dad.
Stark and Lydia have my heart. I can’t wait to see what is to come.
Oh my goodness... Oh my goodness I am so happy so am in tears. This was truly an amazing story of trust, loyalty, and devotion. Stark truly found his calling a true Alpha Wolf, and now he' getting the life he dreamed about with the woman he loves most in the world, ANF he's going yo be a father..wow water works over here.man loved it and now Promise Falls Pack will slowly rise to the top with Stark as an Alpha which he never in a millions years thought would happened, and now he's going to be a father...and with friends like the Murder Crow Crew with Nuke the Murderous Dragon on his side who can contest them..whoop oh yeah, whoop oh yeah...loved it..keep them coming T.S. big fan always Winzie19🤗💞.
The Rise of Promise (The Wolves of Promise Falls book 2) by TS Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read. Nobody writes broken heroes and heroines like T, Stark is a lost wolf, he’s gone from pack to pack as his wolf just wants to fight all the time, finally settling in Promise Falls but his wolf has found a new addiction, a sassy little fox shifter who makes him feel something other than anger. Lyndi is a fox shifter whose life is falling apart and she doesn’t expect the hot af wolf shifter to be there for her when it feels like everyone else is abandoning her. When you open a TS Joyce book you know that you’re getting broken but bad a$$ heroes and heroines, she makes you cry hard and laugh even harder, I would highly recommend this book.
Omg y’all this book gave me chills, made me cry, and made me laugh. I absolutely love Stark and Lyndi. My gosh this book has all the feels. Can a wolf who thinks he doesn’t deserve to be happy find his happiness? Can a fox who’s shunned from her community, find a new pack? All this heartbreak. But in the darkness there is light and when these two come together it’s blinding. When enemies of old and new come together to tear them apart can they stand strong? Can the bonds be mended made unbreakable? It will take all of them to come together and save their happiness.
We already got a glimpse that Stark is more than he wanted people to know. He'll surprise you in this book.
Lyndi is in a lot of trouble, since her no good fox mate rejected her. Stark comes to her rescue in all the ways and supports her to reach her own potential.
So why only four stars? There is one sex scene in this book, and it has zero foreplay. Foreplay is sexy. Jabbing your dick in someone out of the blue, even knowing it's welcome, is not. Stark needs to learn some moves! (This is a common problem in fated mate romance. I hate it every time.)
This is one of those heartbreaking stories that end up in a positive way aka happy ending. This book two picks up from book one. Daylen is alpha and happy with his mate Denver, the sister of Lyndi. Daylen is trying to rebuild his pack now that the kicked Tessa out. However Tessa is making waves. Lyndi is trying to escape a bad match with Jake. However the fox community is trying to make Lyndi take the fall for their relationship terminating. Stark is feeling some kind of way about Lyndi. He had no words, but something is building. Also Stark is starting to hear his wolf again. That’s where their journey begins. . . . Read On!
I was so excited for the release of this book I actually stopped reading a different book I was halfway through, and am so glad I did! I love that every book written by T.S. Joyce is unique to it's characters. There is not a specific format or formula she always uses that would make it feel like it's the same book written over and over again. I was unable to put The Rise of Promise down untill I finished it. The only thing I am regretting is now I have to wait until May for the next book!
It's rare when you find an author how is truly a delight to read. When a book is so much more the just the words between the pages and you are able to take a journey through a life worth seeing. When it touches something inside of you that others just can't compare to. That's what she does. Stark has made a journey that we all are so lucky to see. His path was not easy but the rise of a great man often isn't and the trip wouldn't be worth the end without the unequivocally profound love and respect found and earned through the storm.
Y’all. Other readers commented on feeling all the feels when reading this story, and it’s so. freaking. true. Whew. Loved this one. Absolutely fantastic. Great story, loved the sarcastic wit, banter, emotional connections, the h developing backbone (not that she was a pushover, she really just wanted that epic romance and Jake the dick epically failed in all the ways in that aspect) and reinventing herself, and the whole thing with Marsden?? God, I’m gonna get all weepy again just thinking about it! Highly recommend!
*WARNING* intended for mature readers Oh my gosh! This was such a great story!! Stark had an extremely bad beginning. He new he grew up to be a monster just like his father, until he wasn't. Lyndi new what her life was suppose to be from the time she was 6 years old and that's how it was, until it wasn't. This was an amazing story about 2 people finding themselves, but each in a different way. There was hurt, vengeance, and betrayal. In the end though, it was beautiful. I cried like a baby with this ending, so have tissues ready.
Oh my goodness I love this book. This series! I was dubious about starting Daylens (fall of promise) as I was just angry at that character. As you’re meant to be. Don’t judge the grudge. Anyway, meeting Stark properly in this series was great and just new he was going to fall into my Clinton category. (If you’ve read the lumberjack bears books you’ll know who I mean). Stark is a blooming fantastic character. Lydia is awesome, the plot is fab and all the feels. Quick read for me but they’re just so darn good!!!
I have always been a fan on TS Joyce's books since I read my first one. Her characters feel so real, and pull at emotions when you read their stories. This book though....it is maybe one of the few times when I feel an overwhelming sense of pride. For the characters, for the story....for everything! I'm not going to give much away, because I feel like you need to read it for yourself. Which you should definitely read this story. So good! Well done Ms Joyce, well done.
T.S.Joyce is such fantastic author! Her books take you on a journey through every emotion! You can't help loving the characters she creates! You'll laugh and cry and laugh some more! You'll fall in love and lust with hotboy shifters! The Wolves of Promise Falls series is awesome! Daylen, Denver, Marsden, Stark and Lyndi are a Pack of wolves and foxes! They find trouble, love and loyalty, like it or not. Read everything you can find by this author!
I read all of TS Joyce’ books as soon as they come out. Seriously I can’t get enough. This one doesn’t have much sexy time in it but it’s still hot and sweet. And OMG….THE ENDING!!! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🙌
I will end with my favorite line (I seriously need to pull out my Cricut machine and put this on something):
“Marsden?” Lyndi asked, pulling down a box of Cheez-It crackers and a pair of matching wine tumblers that both had cartoon chickens on them and the phrase ‘Just a girl who likes peckers’ etched into them in cursive letters.
Wow! I did not see this one coming and I am not mad about. I am in tears, actually. That last chapter was a tearjerker. We have been introduced to Stark on the previous book and I loved him. He was a mess but a fun mess, you know? On this one we got to understand him a lot more. To learn about his painful past and how hard he had worked to be where he was. He didn't see Lyndi coming at all but his wolf...he wolf knew just was the one. Fantastic plot. Wow. Highly recommended
The Wolves of Promise Falls book 2. Stark, Stark, Stark. I read the books out of order and fell in love with Stark. He is an alphahole of mega proportions. He helps Lyndi out with her disturbing ex-spouse. Stark has her back everytime. She is everything he needs to be better. He is everything she didn't know she needed. As they fall for each other, the bad guys start with the crazy ish on level 10. This book is such a fabulous read. It's filled from page one to the end with heartfelt awesome dialogue, high drama, angsty and tingle worthy.
I liked Stark from book 1 and 3 but to read his story was just fantastic!!!! He was everything that you thought he was and more. He would fight and hunt until his mission was accomplished and then he made time to love and protect and build up Lyndi’s confidence. That big ole giant of a man was so gentle and loving with her. She made him want to be a better man. Simply put, this was fabulous!!! What on earth did Stark morph into when Tessa’s wolf pack made his wolf sleep? I would have to go hear more of his dad’s backstory, he clearly was more than a a wolf.
I knew it, I just knew it.... I knew there was more too Stark than meets the eye, he is just that good at keeping it bottled up. Lyndi finally made it all come out...
I'm not going to tell you anymore because then I'd be giving the whole thing away... I'll tell you this, it's a combination of laughter, crying, anger, lots of action and yes, a lot of surprises. So, get those tissues and towels out to wipe the tears and sweat.
Going to read Marsden's story now.... Heeheehee what did you think that I would stop here?
Wow. This book was just sooo doggone good. It’s an emotional roller coaster!! I’m laughing and crying and swooning. All the feels. It was just so good. Lyndi, a sweet and sassy fox has lost some mojo due to her ex. And Stark, a miss understood, highly volatile wolf shifter come together and this was a love story and it was 🔥🔥🔥. This is now my favorite book by this author. Hands down!!!
