I received an ARC copy of Forbidden Love Still Blooms from the author. I was very excited because I just love Age-Gap books add in the forbidden aspect of it being the dad and I was all in. Unfortunately, the story fell flat for me. I really wanted to love it, but Lorikeet was too annoying for me. I thought the story was ridiculous and I spent most of the time rolling my eyes. Now while the intimate scenes between Lorikeet and Jordan were super-hot, I didn't feel enough of a connection so when the I love you's came it felt like out of nowhere. Overall, this one didn't work for me, but I am willing to try something else from this author.

Jordan and Loris story was definitely one I enjoyed and I do like age gap stories but the little twist this story one had to is better. Lori is about to make a decision that she thinks is her only choice when her plan is interrupted and that interruption makes everything so much more complicated

I am an ARC reader. I did find that because Lorikeet was use to her father’s abuse she reacted like she did. Jordan came along at the right time and he was able to let her trust him. Oh I can’t tail anything more because I don’t want to spoil plot but there was a secret and there was a very surprising ending I enjoyed it and hope you do too.

Geez

Geez what a read from start to finish this gave me all the angst. It pulled me in and didn’t let go. I needed to know what happened next. Lorikeet was an interesting character that I wanted to see get her happily ever after. So happy she did with Jordan. This was my first Nora Flite book and it won’t be my last.

Lori finds herself being forced into a marriage she doesn’t want to a despicable man who has ulterior as she has a secret that must be kept despite the cost. The last thing she needs is to be attracted to this man’s father as the situation is complicated enough.

Jordan sees his son for the man he is, faults and all. He knows that he shouldn’t be attracted to Lori but being with her might just be a risk worth taking.

The chemistry between them is intense and the surprises keep coming as Lori and Jordan battle to find a way to be together.

Forbidden and Sexy

This book is truly a wonderful way to spend a mini staycation.
Nora Flite has an awesome way of bringing life to each and every one of these characters.
Jordon and Lorikeet are SO perfectly matched. Both brings the fire and the chemistry of dirty and sexy.

I’m so looking forward to seeing what will come.

Any opinions expressed within this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review. I originally voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book via bsprout.

An age gap romance must read.

An age gap romance must read! I got interested with this new release because of the taboo factor but I kept reading because of all the delicious twist throughout the storyline. Lorikeet And Jordan’s life shouldn’t have crossed but when she is forced to do something unexpected they find themselves together at every turn. What happens next is a dark, steamy age gap romance thats packed with surprises, drama, danger and a HEA.

I really enjoyed the flow of the story and the characters. The author definitely created a strong heroine who wasn't naive nor one of those doormat. And a hero who genuinely loves and respects heroine.

I really enjoyed this romance. It's an age gap & forbidden romance.
Our FMC Lorikeet is blackmailed into marrying a terrible guy named Dezmond... Until Dezmonds adopted dad (who is actually his uncle) steps in and handles things. I loved the passion between Lori and Jordan.

What did I just read? Forbidden Love Still Blooms was fantastic! This is going to be hard to review because I hate to ruin it for others by giving spoilers because this is truly a book that takes you on one heck of a ride. Forbidden Love Still Blooms tells the story of Lorikeet (AKA Lori) who is a young 22-year-old who helps her mom run her flower shop in a small coastal town. It seems that Lori’s father hit the lottery and up and left her mother and Lori…or did he? It is a small town, so pretty much everyone knows that Lori’s dad hit the lottery. Now, Lori is keeping a big secret, and it seems the town’s loser/bully, Dezmond, knows what Lori’s secret is. I could not stand Dez’s character, he is such scum. He comes from money, so all he does is gamble, drinks and drugs. He knows that Lori’s dad hit the lottery, so he is blackmailing Lori. He wants Lori to marry him (so he will have money) and in return he will keep Lori’s secret. Then there is Jordan, Dez’s father, who is constantly bailing Dez out of trouble. Jordan is everything Dez isn’t. He is handsome, sexy and older than Lori, but they connect instantly. It seems that Jordan also has secrets. So, to recap, Dez wants Lori, Jordan wants Lori, and Lori wants Jordan. All this is going on while Lori is desperately trying to keep her secret. Forbidden Love Still Blooms will have you on the edge of your seat. It grabs you from page one and doesn’t let go until the very last page. It is full of secrets, angst, a lot of steam because it seems Jordan like his sex really filthy, and in there a love story is blooming. Holy cow there are so many twists and turns, and when the secrets are revealed, you will be WTH! I really liked the side characters too. However, as mentioned by other reviewers and in the summary of the book, there are triggers, so please keep that in mind if such things disturb you. I am new to Nora Flite, but she is quickly becoming my favorite author. I highly recommend Forbidden Love Still Blooms. It really is a must read. I received an ARC copy, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I was absolutely intrigued by the blurb so I could not wait to read this book.
But the plot didn’t go quite as I expected.
I thought the future father in law actually would find her trying to murder his son but it didn’t go that way.
So I was a bit disappointed but still invested in reading the rest of the story.
Lorikeet is a twenty two young lady who helps her mom run their flower store.
She has dropped out of social life and has dropped her friends.
I didn’t see her reasoning for stopping contact with her best friend.
I understand casual acquaintances but not your best friend.
Your best friend is someone you know inside and out and know what the are capable and not capable of doing.
Anyway Lori finds herself being blackmailed.
She goes along with the blackmailer until she can figure out a way out of her predicament.
Desmond is a gambler, drug user and an alcoholic.
He sees Lori as his cash cow.
Des is a bully and an overall @$&h0le.
So as the antagonist he fits the bill.
Jordan is Desmond’s father always trying to clean up his messes and his dirty deeds.
Jordan is successful, sophisticated and sexy.
And starts to take an interest in Lori.
I really liked Jordan.
Loved his loyalty and determination, his possessive and dominant nature.
Desmond is the evil character which he was to a t.
So I had no problem hating on him.
Lorikeet is the conundrum for me.
I didn’t really care for her.
I’m not really sure why.
Maybe she was just to blasé or to overconfident.
I just can’t put my finger on exactly why I didn’t like or connect with her.
The physical and sexual attraction and tension with her and Jordan was intense.
It was hot and filled with passion.
But I felt it was more lust that love.
Especially from Lori.
Jordan gave and contributed more to his deep feelings for her.
She did not give him the same in return.
Took her forever to trust him.
It was an okay story I was just expecting more.

I was very grateful to receive an ARC of this new steamy book by Nora Flite, but please be warned if you're triggered by domestic violence because this book has plenty of that as well.

I really liked how it begins, with a mistery. A young girl -22 yo Lorikeet- living in the coastal town of Crestwind finds herself in the middle of a blackmail situation. She's ready to fight everyone and everything in this town to assure her secrets stay hidden, what she doesn't know is that in the midst of this conondrum, a handsome, domineering and sexy as all hell man comes and he seems to be completely ready to fight her fight whilst discovering her filthiest sexual side.

I loved and hated Jordan with the same passion. They are FIRe together and their scenes are, just as Mrs. Flite describes, very filthy. I love me some hard alpha male action and some of the scenes made ME blush. Now on to the mistery. I thought it very interesting that these characters are definitely NOT perfect and/or living a perfectly blessed life, they have issues, and boy are those big issues!

There is domestic violence, in the past as flashbacks and in real time with the blackmailer up on Lorikeet's behind. I was very upset with her character because she seems like a smart girl but some times acts dumb and it made me furious to have her become an easy target. Also, Jordan is sexy and all but can be very hot and cold, it made me dizzy how they could be awesome in some scenes and then they'd be dumb(her) or corny (him).

Not my favourite Nora Flite book but hopefully she'll continue to craft these sexy misteries and keep us on our toes. If you have the chance, read it, it's not long, well written and keeps you very entertained.

So, this book was definitely touch and go for me for a while, I was around 35% in (albeit a lot of skimming) and I was close to DNF'ing.
I don't think as much information needs to be in the first 40%, the author described everything so beautifully, but I feel this also could have been reduced. I found myself skimming these parts.
Despite that, I really enjoyed the plot, it was full of suspense and mystery and was well thought out.
“ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜ ʏᴏᴜʀꜱᴇʟꜰ, ʟɪᴛᴛʟᴇ ʙɪʀᴅ.”

Lori's character was strong and battling a lot of inner demons, it was great to watch her character build throughout the book.
“𝙳𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚍 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔,” 𝙸 𝚜𝚊𝚢, 𝚜𝚕𝚒𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚢 𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚓𝚊𝚠. 𝙷𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚝 𝚖𝚎, 𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚜 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚖𝚒𝚛𝚔 𝚜𝚘𝚏𝚝𝚎𝚗. “𝙸 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘.”“𝙸'𝚖 𝚝𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚔.”

I loved Jordan's character, definitely on my new book boyfriend list, as soon as their was more of him in the book it improved even more!
“𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙩. 𝙈𝙮 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙡. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 … 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚, 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨.”

The spice was HIGH, and filthy, but I loved that! So smutty!
“𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭. 𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐈'𝐦 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐧𝐭.”

It's definitely a slow burn, but the ending is so worth it. From 50% onwards, I was sucked in, paging through as fast as I could!
𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿. 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗺. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲'𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽.

I've given this a 4 star rating due to the following scores:
Plot: 4/5
Spice: 5/5
Romance: 3/5
Slow Burn: 4/5
Readability: 3/5
Characters 3.5/5

I've been wanting to read a book from this lady for a while now but I had previous commitments and I couldn't.
But when the window opened I was into it so fast that it left my head spinning.
Nora Flite is this sweet lady with a dark side.
Her writing is super appealing and just one look into this blurb and I knew it was the book for me.
Forbidden Love Still Blooms is her latest release and it explores Lorikeet's life.
Lorikeet is in a relationship with a man she not only hates but despises.
She wants out of it but it's not an easy task.
Her only choice is to murder him so she goes for it.
What she wasn't counting on was her father-in-law and now...
Oh, my word... What a book.
What a ride... What just happened?
Amazing plot, well written, super engaging, and dark.
Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it. It was that good.
The darkness and suspense that surrounded this book were so thick that my heart hurt.
But not only that, the hot stuff... Lord have mercy.
The characters worked perfectly with each other even in the bad moments.
How can someone be so twisted? How can you thrive in someone's suffering?
I know this book is fiction, but there are people out there just as twisted.
Chapter after chapter, I saw myself holding my breath because the events were brutal.
Lori is a strong girl and no one can put her down. They tried but...
The connection she shared with Jordan...
I can't say more because I refuse to spoil so read this book...
Let's just say you need to prepare yourself for the bumpy ride.
Great book Nora. Your mind is a wicked place. Lol
Can't wait for your next book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Forbidden Love Still Blooms is an angsty and sinfully steamy book filled with twists and intrigue. Nora Flite has such a unique quality to her writing. The storyline and characters always stray from the typical cookie-cutter ones and that’s what draws me to her work. In this story we have a super intriguing premise that leads to a scorching hot and thoroughly engaging story.

“You should never provoke me, sweet bird.”
~~~~~
“Go ahead. Hate me if that's what gets you off. I'll even help give you a reason.”
~~~~~
“You're all I ever wanted without me knowing how much I needed it. I'll never be able to let you go.”
~~~~~
The way this story is set up made this book so enjoyable and kept my attention the whole way through. I enjoyed the characters and the way their secrets worked into the storyline. Age gap is a trope that I absolutely love and the author writes it so well here. I thought the intimacy was extremely well written as well, in a way that had me anxiously looking forward to the next scene. The angst and emotion worked well throughout the story, and I loved the tension and build up between Lori and Jordan. Overall this was a fantastic story and I can’t wait to see what Nora Flite has in store for her readers next.
This story having many tropes within the book such as forbidden, aga gap and a little dark. The story is so intertwined with a romance on the side which in this case I didn’t have any issues. Lorikeet is a fighter. She is tall, pretty, sweet and sassy. She has a secret from the small town until she realized someone knows her secret too. Lorikeet is backed and trapped into a corner and must play pretend to someone she despises. Then she gets caught in an act and it catch his eye. Jordan is the father of her classmate. He is handsome, a grump, protective, and caring. He trying to raise his son right, but he makes it impossible task to do. He is a little hard to read at times. Jordan will do anything for Lorikeet which I absolutely love. I have to say that this story to a little time to get into it. I think Nora is trying to ease us into the story, but it was started with a bang and just stay there for a minute then it’s escalated. Nora wrote this story like when you’re watching a good movie that have you hanging to every word and have you standing at the edge of the seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. Then boom you are sitting there when it’s over like this is crazy, and I can’t believe it! The ending has shocked me a little because I was not expecting what to transpired to happen like it did. Nora, you did awesome on this story! I received this ARC from Bookfunnel for my honest opinion. Amazing work again Nora Flite!
This is only the second book I've read by the author the first was funny but drama filled this one is full of sharp edges and intrigue it starts dark but ends with a little light.
Lorikeet has a secret a dark one and a new fiance willing to bleed her dry to get what he wants but what about the other man he's everything the first isn't Jordan he's forbidden he's her fiance's father and he wants all her secrets her very soul. But giving either man what they want is her ruin they could both distroy everything she worked to protect or one of them could save her from it all at a cost.
Jordan dosen't care about much he gets his son out of one mess after another but things become different with Lorikeet and having her means a broken promise to someone else can he do what needs to be done.
So both Lorikeet and Jordan are complex I wanted more of Jordan more back story what made him so ruthless. Lorikeet seems more complete she's strong but keeping her secrets have made her ruthless you know her reasons and how they shaped her character. The chemistry is there the sex scenes intense and the sense of urgency in the book is also there that's all good there was a part of the book that seemed less realistic and at times the story slowed for me but this was still a good read with plenty of dramatic points and I liked how the author tied everything up.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
I knew when I started this book that it would amazing! And let me just say that I was right. It is full of suspense, mystery, lust and quite possibly love, so much so that I couldn’t put it down. Lorikeet is a young woman with something in her past that keeps her in her hometown. She is immensely loyal to her Mother and you could feel the love she has for her. Lorikeet is also a very protective person and will do anything to help the ones she loves. So when someone threatens to change her life, she embarks on a journey to stop it from happening. But she wasn’t prepared for Jordan. He is older than her, but their attraction to each other is unreal. You can feel their chemistry sizzling on the pages as you turn them. Jordan wasn’t looking for any kind of a relationship, but when he meets Lorikeet, something changes in him.
I don’t want to say to much without giving away spoilers, except that every time I thought I had something figured out, this author would throw me for a loop. And that is just one of the many reasons why I loved this story. It keeps you guessing throughout. My heart hurt for Lorikeet but also was full when it came to her and Jordan. I truly enjoyed this rollercoaster ride of emotions and didn’t want it to end. It’s a definite must read for all!!
I previously have read quite a few books by Nora Flite. But nothing like this book: FORBIDDEN LOVE STILL BLOOMS (FORBIDDEN ROMANCE NOVEL.) An age gap story with the female main character being 22 and the hero being 40. It is quite steamy with touches of darkness thrown in. I would call it a Psychological & Thriller Book. It is an adult book with mystery and angst. It is one of those books that you won't want to put down till you know what happens. This is a standalone.
Lorikeet Jones works with her mother at their flower shop, Windy Gardens, on a prime location in Crestwind Cliffs. Lori's father has supposedly abandoned her and her mom, after winning the lottery and disappearing to parts unknown. That is how the rumor spread says it happened. A parade will be marching through their town and their flowers will be selling like hot cakes. A customer walks into the store and it is Jordan Hartford. Lori is quite taken by his good looks and from the way he is looking at her, the feelings are mutual. Too bad Jordan's son is, Dezmond Hartford, who is a scumbag. It doesn't take much time from that point to learn Dezmond is much more of a threat to Lori, than she ever could imagine. She never had a clue either, that her only hero would be Dezmond's father Jordan.
The base story line was enjoyable , love a bit of murder mystery , but it all didn’t come together well.
I didn’t like Lorikeets name , personal choice but it made me cringe when I saw it however that’s not what put me off the story. The romance just seemed very rushed when it finally happened and turns into insta love . I don’t think the author did enough to set up Jordan as the Dom he was portrayed in the sex scenes, even if not BDSM , it was a weak dom/sub situation. The sex scenes were over the top for me , needed less of the juices and more of the getting on with it.
The ending was all too unrealistic , sure it’s a made up story , but for my brain to process things I like a story somewhat based on what happens in real life. Be a pretty sad police department if that’s how they handle a murder.
The base story had potential , just needed to edit down the sex to be less over top , build up Jordan’s character earlier on , and use some research to add in a bit more reality.
If you want something with a wet splash of hot sex not overly realistic and a bit of age gap insta love the. You will enjoy this.
I feel like I'm being overly critical and I know it. The storyline was great, I like the way things were set up and resolved. It's the dialogue and character development and the dissonance between trying to make Lorikeet young but also seasoned and wise beyond her years. She was a tortured soul and yet there were glimpse of being a young person. Jordan was kind of trying to be dirty and dominating but also was a good guy and so some of the dirt talk didn't jive with the way he was during non-sexy times. It was off-putting enough that I had a hard time staying in the story and finishing it. I think it's one of those things that comes from experience of writing and plotting. I skimmed the sexy times but really enjoyed the story otherwise, and I'm not one to usually skip that.
Again, liked the story. The suspense and unexpected way things were resolved were great. I loved the descriptions of the town and flower shop. Lori and her mom had a great relationship although you would think her mom would be all over her for some of her choices. It feels like it could have a bit more polish and I truly hope this is taken as positive feedback to grow and not a negative review.
While Lori helps her mother run the family flower shop Windy Gardens, another resident of Crestwind Cliffs is busy causing trouble in the quaint oceanside town. Today he chooses to target Lori. Dezmond comes from money, but you wouldn't know that unless you knew him. Dez knows things about Lori, or so he says, and he plans to use that to his advantage. He has a troubled past and would lie or say anything to get what he wants. Jordan, Dez's father is forever bailing him out.
Lori has a secret, one that can never be known. Dez will do anything to get what he wants. And after meeting Lori, Jordan will do anything to get what he needs. Jordan and Lori have developed a connection like no other. The feelings are there, but are they strong enough to betray your own blood?
A WELL WRITTEN, MYSTERIOUS, INTENSE STORYLINE WITH SMOKING HOT SEX AND WELL DEVELOPED CHARACTERS THAT MADE THE STORY ORIGINAL AND KEPT ME TURNING THE PAGES, ANXIOUSLY, TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT!
I DIDN'T JUST READ THIS BOOK, I DEVOURED THIS BOOK!!! AMAZING READ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
I loved this book. From the very first page, you are brought into the story wanting to know all of the secrets that are being kept. Lorikeet is keeping a secret she doesn’t want anyone to find out about. Dezmond is a man that is not a model citizen. He is often in trouble with the law, hangs with a bad crew, and gambles money away. He knows Lorikeets secret and blackmails her into marrying him for the money he believes she has.
Lorikeet agrees to marry him to keep her secret but is plotting how to get rid of him. At the same time she meets Dezmond’s father and their chemistry is off the charts. As their chemistry and feelings grow, they are both keeping secrets, all while Lorikeet is trying to prevent herself from marrying Dezmond. This book kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book! I received and ARC for an honest review.
One intense tale. This was a slow burn book for me. It took a while to get into it. I'm a huge fan of this author, so I knew I had to persevere. I'm so glad I did.
It's so hard to give a review of this book without giving away anything.
It's absolutely intense, sexy, forbidden, scary, and one crazy ride.
Crestwind Cliffs, a small ocean town, is where Lori and her mom own a quiet flower shop. They endure so much in this story.
Dez becomes quite the troublemaker, causing insane mayhem when he decides to prey on Lori.
Just when things get crazy, the story completely throws you off.
There are some trigger warnings in this book, abuse, and forbidden love, but it didn't impact my thoughts on it. In fact I really enjoyed it.
4 stars, totally worth pushing through to get past the beginning.
