This book was really good, from beginning to end, I still can't figure out how Marcus and Melissa couldn't figure out until later (the ending of the book) that Sasha wanted him back, I was over here SMH, like here who go again another one, who leave a good person who has done good by them and treats them great, now they want them back "since" they have gotten themselves into a relationship, where they are happy. I tell you, people are a trip.

BTW: I already knew that lady Alretha was that girl Angel great-grandma!

Ha, Karmas is definitely a mother chicken hen. She thought sure she was going to get Marcus back, it's funny how people don't realize a good thing until it's gone, and that person has moved on to the next person who loves them, and they love them back. Reminds of what my sister had mentioned to me about a lady she knew has cheated on her man (her husband) and left him for another man, and now she regrets it and wants him back. Funny people want you back, and when Marcus asked Melissa to marry him in front of Sasha, I had to laugh that mess was hilarious as it comes wow.

Uh... no, sorry, that is not quite right. The biblical definition of repentance is grief and Godly sorrow over wrong doing. Only THEN do we turn from sin.

I don’t condemn the author because I wrote my own books before I understood doctrine too. I just hope she will learn and correct herself.

It can be difficult to practice what you preach! Whether in marital, family or single relationships, adhering to the scripture daily requires sacrifice and humility. These characters take you through the struggle!

Angela found out that Aletha was indeed her grand mother. And Sasha wanted to get Marcus back only because he had finally found him a woman. Glad he didn't let her stop him because she was trying to use the child as an excuse why they should get back together as a family.
Love that all her Chapters start off with a scripture before the book continue. I don't remember the chapter but while I was reading it, it was like being in Bible Study.
It's important that we practice what we preach and that doesn't only apply to preachers, it goes for Christian in general. As followers of Christ, we need to "Practice What We Preach".

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I listened as usual, but I will listen again to write the Scriptures down that are quoted. The message is practice what you preach! We need this in these last days. Amen! I recommend this book.

Perplexed

First time reading this author's writing, the grammar and spelling was very good. It seems like it would have been a good story however, at 51% I jumped ahead to the last two chapters. I could not follow the many storylines I tried for two days.

What are you willing to do locate a relative? Gayle Cane visits her cousin, Angel Gabriel revealing some past revelations (secrets). Angela is willing to act on it, before her wedding day.

Marcus Pebbles falls in love with his high school sweetheart, Sasha. After a failed marriage and daughter, Aaliyah, he wants to get back into dating. He agrees to take Melissa on their first date to church service. At first, it seems like Melissa is still turned off by Marcus, using D-word as an excuse. Bible as supporting her case, and most single women that are into the Word of God can relate. Then, he faces baby-mama drama with his ex-wife, so Sasha can enjoy the single-life. So far, I love Marcus Pebbles character(his charisma, his knowledge and intellect of the Bible, willingness, and love for his women such as mother and child).

There are other stories of social life as a Christian, enlightened with the struggles of single mother raising four children alone after divorce. There are many single mothers, divorced or unmarried in America today. Dead beat dads, there are very few who are involved in their children lives. It is not fair to the kids, only think of their own selfish desires. Love to read about strong-faith like women, such as Sharon Pebbles, Marcus' mother, who wants the best for all her kids. Two of Marcus' older sisters went to college only to be college-drop-outs. Will Marcus set a good example for his younger brother to follow?

The other three characters who moved me and truly loved is Aaliyah (Marcus daughter), later Angela for she is an Angel and Arletha Brown (Black) once she saw her true self and willingness to change. Break generational curses, overly religious traditions, and strongholds!

What I like most about this author, she brings back past characters from her other trilogies/series. We get a glimpse of names like Gayle and Angela; Sarah Fleming, Pastor Landris from Blessed Trinity Trilogy (Series). We also see new characters too. Also, I feel like she is writing another series...but you can read each book as a solo project without reading in sequence. This is what I love most about this author!

Oh I get it, this is how Vanessa Davis Griggs derived the title "Practicing what you Preach"--I get it! Read the story and you will too!

I started this yesterday night and i only finished this now.

FEW THOUGHTS:

* I hate Stella. She is the definition of a Jezebel. I wanted to punch her.
* Marcus, Marcus, Marcus....Now i know what type of guy i want. I want Marcus and if God can deliver me him, I'd be HAPPY. That man is DREAMY. Every word of his mouth......DREAMY
* I hate Sasha. I just don't like her. She's so entitled and she blames everyone for what she causes. I do forgive her though but i don't like her....I know i know, very unChrist like but I couldn't help it.
* I didn't care for the heroine. She was just a girl. Didn't care much for her. Loved her idea of taking Marcus to church on the first date....BRILLANT!

* I don't think i agree with Marcus' stance on divorce. Idk Maybe i would have if he maybe felt guilt or had remorse cause divorce is wrong. I remember when i first came to Christ, I had guilt that i had sinned against the Most High God. I still do but not so much cause I know Jesus forgave me but just the thought you know. Idk i guess i wanted to see him be grieved like any normal person would. Overall good book. I enjoyed it as you can see by the 4 stars.

* OOOH ALMOST FORGOT! I hated the Angela Gabriel ( smh really) and grandmother storyline. Too many things going on. I ended up skipping this. The granny was cruel and boring and made me very uninterested.

* Marcus as a kid alone is five stars. We never got to meet his siblings which was a bummer. We never got a wedding between Marcus and oh i forgot the heroine's name ( I'm sorry. she was THAT uninteresting )

* What about Sasha's thoughts in the end. That abrupt ending was not okay

Anyway I'll be here dreaming about Marcus. That's all I care about

Well to start off I related completely to the main female character. She was believable, smart, and witty. This book was not my usual read except in the fact that it was a romance. I felt the author did a great job in creating believable characters. I enjoyed reading this and would recommend it to anyone who loves a Christian romance. The book was a very motivating read. It talked about some of today’s issues with relationships. I enjoyed the “mini sermons” throughout the book also. The author had some discussion questions in the back that really would engage a book club also.

I enjoyed the dialogue throughout the book but sometimes I got lost in who was actually speaking. If I was a more religious person I would have seen where the scriptures worked with the chapters but some got lost in my ignorance. I also did not understand the seemingly abrupt ending.

I am going to lend this to some of my friends to read -- I think they would enjoy it.

Vanessa Davis Griggs has a blend of characters with social issues, baby mama drama, and unveiling faith. Characters are well-written that interweaves some generational curses that need to be broken, religiosity, judgmental believers, and genuine angels that step out of the norm. There are some characters you cannot help but love, and others question their motives when they realize they lost something good! Do not jump to other people opinions of you, do not be quick to anger, and loose what God brought in your life (divine connections, job, people, divine relationships and marriages, etc.).

Do not loose on the blessings God has for you! Break those generational curses, strongholds, and negativity in your life. This book lays it all out. It is a must-read. Practice what you Preach!

This was a pretty okay book. It was lacking in the romance area despite being about a dating relationship. It's my first Christian fiction. Therefore, I am not sure if the bland intimacy points are standard. Either way, not enough umph for me even if it is for sanctified folk. ;) Also the story's tension was strong, but the accumulation and climax were lacking. I got to the end thinking, is this it? *insert confused look* Also, I did not get how the subplot fit with the over all story. I was tempted to skip past that part every time there was a new development. However, the writing was good which is important to me. I'm passing the book along to someone who reading Christian fiction often. I'll see what she has to say about it. :)

Practicing What You Preach is the fourth book in the Blessed Trinity series, which introduces Melissa, an event coordinator on the uprise. She is planning a wedding while praying for one of her own, but may not be prepared for whom God has chosen for her. A few familiar characters reappear in this book, and more secrets are revealed. Once again, Mrs. Griggs has awed me with her way with words. Not only was I entertained, but at one point, believed I was in Bible Study. I learned sooooo much from this book and the series as a whole. Up next... Goodness and Mercy, because i can't wait to see what God has in store for me.

I am in love with this whole series! it has blessed me so much. I write down and keep track of the list of scriptures. For me these books have shown the application of scriptures in real life. Also I like reading books that are fun but don't compromise my beliefs. I can't wait to see what happens to all the characters.

I really enjoyed this book. I was a little frustrated with Marcus regarding the ex. I kept telling him to man up! The ex is a brat to say the least. Along with her shady mama. Oh but I was hooked from start to finish. Ms Vanessa amazes me. While each book in the series seem different, they are all intertwined. . Love it!

Story is good example of having faith & waiting on God. However, too many cliche's and sometime I couldn't relate the scripture to storyline for that chapter.
