“My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” - Ephesians, VI
The reader should not be misled by the title of my book, for love evokes the highest power but also provokes the greatest hate in its darkest hour. Love and hate both reside on the same branch at times, and both felt by those who battle to hold onto true love. The love in question isn't only about the desire of mortals or those since passed but of a place, an island called Venice, also known as La Serenissima who sits majestic and proud in a lagoon. The dark and secret history of her past remains hidden and unknown to tourists. The church elders look to her future only with dread, like a double-edged sword, one side fights for justice while the other destruction, and the only glint of hope remains within a prophecy that is protected by a council of ten.
The arrival of an English family during the peak summer surge brings hope to those in wait for the signs spoken of. A pure love releases a prophetic trinity and together they must defend La Serenissima from a wrath, a curse which has haunted Venetians for almost six hundred years. Spiritual warfare of biblical proportions unfold, and an apocalyptic battle ensues between two armies - the Dark Ones and those who seek the divine light. Damnations once echoed across the jade-green waters resurface and awaken those dormant in the shadows. A diabolical collaboration wants to reunite, join forces and send her forever into oblivion.
With each page, you will discover Venice intimately and travel on a journey of love, laughter and passion. Yet, with each page, you too will be fearful for the ominous times ahead.
La Serenissima has a will, an indomitable spirit intent on aiding her allies. She will raise the dead from their watery graves, unite all faiths and draw out divine beings to defend her in her final hours.
La Serenissima - a love story is a supernatural tale told in two parts, Book I and Book II.
