It's almost Christmas in Heritage Cove - the village tree is all lit-up, the bakery is full of festive treats, the tea rooms and waffle shack are welcoming locals inside out of the cold, and for some of the residents of the Cove, snow might not be the only thing they're wishing for this year...
Tilly is overjoyed when an estranged relative comes to Heritage Cove wanting to make amends. But as she lets him in to her life and Tilly’s Bits ‘n’ Pieces - the shop she owns and loves - her friends aren’t so sure whether everything is quite as it seems.
Benjamin’s parents run Mistletoe Gate Farm, selling Christmas trees, wreaths and mistletoe. Benjamin has always thought his family was as firmly rooted in the ground as the rows of Norway Spruce and Fraser Firs. But when he finds a letter that rocks his world he realises he may not be able to do anything to prevent the changes coming their way.
Benjamin and Tilly have been falling for one another since the summer but will family complications put an abrupt stop to what is looking like a burgeoning romance?
With festive cheer weaving its way through the Cove as two local favourites plan their wedding, there’s more than one relationship that could receive a little Christmas magic…

A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm is the 4th book in Heritage Cove series, although it is said to be ok as a standalone and things do briefly get explained I do think that to really get the full enjoyment you need to read the other books.
This time round it's Tilly and Benjamin’s story. Tilly owns the Bits ‘n’ Pieces shop, which she inherited from her Grandma Shirley. It's a quirky shop and the name pretty much sums it up perfectly. It's a shop I could definitely see myself having a good rummage around in.
Benjamin helps out on Mistletoe Gate Farm with he's parents. The Farm sells Beautiful Real Christmas trees, wreaths and mistletoe. The story and ambiance surrounding the farm is so magical. I've always wanted a real Christmas tree 🎄 but I'm allergic.
Tilly and Benjamin have a budding romance with sizzling chemistry, except for one minor detail, neither seems to want to tell the other one how they feel, despite having an obvious spark.
After a big storm wreaked havoc on Heritage Cove it's looking uncertain whether Tilly's Friends Harvey and Melissa can get married after Barney and Lois, Barn gets hit pretty badly from the storm. Tilly was all set to be bridesmaid but all that could now change! Putting their heads together can they come up with another venue at such short notice?
A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm is a Heart-warming Romance with all the festive trimmings, a Winter Wedding, family dramas, sizzling chemistry, break ups, a quaint and adorable backdrop and Loveable characters. What more could you want from a Christmas Story!.... So snuggle up you have a wedding to attend!

I do love spending time in Heritage Cove. I was a bit worried that I had missed reading book three, but due to that I can safely assure you this can be read as a standalone. I was though very happy to see all the familiar faces from the first two books were back, as that made it that bit easier to feel back at home between the pages.
This is Tilly's story, she runs a shop that seems to sell a bit of everything in terms of home décor, and would love to expand the store. She is flabbergasted when a long lost uncle appears in town that she never knew about, but whether he is too good to be true is another matter.
Meanwhile at the Mistletoe Gate Farm, we have Benjamin, it is clear to everyone in Heritage Cove that he has feeling for Tilly, but she seems rather unaware. He is a fabulous chef but also helps out on the tree farm,
This just has just a warm and cosy feel to it, and I loved being right in my inklings towards Tilly's new family member, I also would have loved to visit her shop and the Christmas tree farm as they both sounded rather wonderful.
There are secrets to be uncovered, a wedding to be saved, and plenty of story keep you entertained, in this run up to Christmas. It's just a really lovely, warm-hearted book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This took me a little while to get in board with as I really disliked one of the characters, they were making me angry to read! But once it all started to come together it was a good read with really wonderful characters (all apart from that one!) another lovely read from a wonderful author!
A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm by Helen J Rolfe Tilly is thirty years old and owns a shop called Tilly’s Bits ‘n’ Pieces in Heritage Cove, a village on the east coast of England, where the novel is set. (This is Book 4 in the Heritage Cove series, but works well as a standalone book too.) Benjamin Doyle lives at Mistletoe Gate Farm, which is owned by his parents Danny and Heather. He’s also the chef in The Copper Plough pub. Benjamin and Tilly fancy each other, but don’t seem to be able to get round to telling the other one! Tilly’s friends Harvey and Melissa are getting married soon and Tilly is one of their bridesmaids. After a storm destroys their planned wedding venue, they have to find somewhere else in the village. Then a stranger turns up, claiming to be Tilly’s Uncle Scott, though she’s never heard of him… The novel is lovely and festive, with lots of Christmas trees and mistletoe and celebrations going on, which make it perfect to read at this time of year. This is also a very individual thing, but I was also pleasantly surprised to find there weren’t any swearing or sex scenes in the novel, which is just how I like it! But there’s excitement, intrigue, things going on and yes, there’s romance, but that’s more of an underlying theme than the main focus of the story in many ways. It has a great community feel to it, I loved getting to know the villagers and where they worked, who they lived with and so on. It felt like moving somewhere new and finding out that there are loads of lovely people nearby. The novel is warm and cuddly and I loved it!
A Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm focusses on Tilly, the owner of Tilly’s Bits’n’Pieces, a shop she inherited from her grandmother via her father. He wasn’t too pleased that Tilly had opted to forgo university in favour of the shop but Tilly had found her calling. She loved the shop, and loved stocking it with individual and eclectic items. So much so, she was running out of space.
Heritage Cove was recovering from storm damage to many of the buildings and particularly the barn that was to be a Christmas wedding venue.
'Tilly’s heart sank. ‘What does this mean for the wedding?’ ‘Barney knows he has to tell Melissa and Harvey today that the wedding can’t be held in the barn. They’re going to have to find another venue. Barney is so upset he won’t be able to give them the wedding they deserve — you know how he is about those two.’
Tilly is unsure at first when a relative she didn’t know she had turns up in the cove, but eventually she’s won over despite Benjamin’s reservations. Benjamin is a chef at the local pub, as well as helping his parents out at Mistletoe Gate Farm. Everyone is aware he and Tilly have feelings for each other but they can’t seem to get their act together.
Although this is Tilly’s story in the main, it was fun to catch up with the other residents of Heritage Cove. There’s a lot going on and the festive season isn’t without its problems for some people but there’s always a sense of community and friendship to even out the bumps.
Having read books by Helen Rolfe before I knew I had to read this one! It is the 4th book in the Heritage Cove series , it can be read as a standalone book.... but you'll end up wanting all of them! It is a place that I wish I lived at , the author describes it so beautifully it makes you feel at home when you are reading it!
In this book we have Tilly , she is the proud happy owner of a shop called Tilly's bits n pieces (which I would love to visit!) We also have Benjamin whose parents run Mistletoe Gate Farm , they have been falling in love during the summer but each of them get to unsuspecting news about their families , Tilly gets a visit from an estranged family member and Benjamin receives a letter that absolutely rocks his world!
Is everything as it seems? Will it break them apart? There are so many secrets to uncover and more to find out about them and their families. It is a truly great read that keeps you wanting more and more , it flows nicely throughout the story, featuring characters that you are invested in and a beautiful setting.
I have been a fan of Helen’s work for a while now. I haven’t actually caught up with everything that she has written but I am getting there. ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm’ is the fourth book in the ‘Heritage Cove’ series. I read the synopsis for ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Farm’ and it certainly sounded like just my kind of read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm’ but more about that in a bit. The beautiful cover of this book was enough to grab my attention and the synopsis sealed the deal as it were and drew me in. As soon as I started reading, I knew that I was going to be in for one hell of a treat and then some. I knew that there wasn’t much point arranging anything else for the rest of the afternoon other than reading because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to put the book down at all. I was drawn into this story from the very beginning and it was as if the book had developed a hold over me and it was a hold that I wasn’t willing to break. I was blown away by the story, by the gorgeous sounding Heritage Cove and I had to keep reading to see if the main characters got the ‘happy ever after’ ending that they so deserved. The more of the book that I read, the more I wanted to read and the quicker the pages seemed to turn. I became so wrapped up in the story that I lost all track of time and just how quickly I was getting through the book. All too quickly I reached the end of ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm and I had to say goodbye to the characters. I found ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm’ to be a delightful and charming read. ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm’ is superbly written but then I have come to expect nothing else from Helen J. Rolfe. Helen has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading one of Helen’s books feels more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. For me the story hits the ground running and maintains a fairly gentle pace throughout. Helen clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the way in which she describes them and talks about them. She describes the characters so realistically that they seem just as real as you and I. I also loved the way in which Helen described Heritage Cove. Helen made it sound so idyllic that I was almost ready to pack a suitcase and go for a holiday. In short I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘A Winter Wedding At Mistletoe Gate Farm’ and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. Although it is the fourth book in the series, it reads perfectly well as a standalone. I will certainly be reading more of Helen’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
This is a favourite author of mine and I adore her books, I have read quite a few and they have been without exception, fabulous reads.
This latest book is the 4th book in the Heritage Cove series, and while you can read them all as stand-alone you will get a better understanding of the characters within this closeknit and supportive coastal community.
Heritage Cove is an amazing sounding place in the winter with local businesses gearing up for Christmas. Tilly runs one of the local shops an Aladdin’s cave of local crafts, furniture and whatever Tilly can squeeze into her beloved shop. Benjamin works at the Pub as the chef, helps out with the family business, a Christmas Tree Farm, so he is manically busy but still has the time to pop in and see Tilly.
These two are the main focus of this story, but other residents and regulars of the series also have their parts to play. The community spirit is something this authors manages to capture so well and when you have read a couple of books in the series you get a nice warm and welcoming feel.
Both Tilly and Benjamin have had relationships in the past, it has left them wary of thinking about anything apart from friendship. As the two have become friends they have built up a trust and understanding, each like the other but is a little reluctant to go any further because of the great friendship they have. Tilly has very little family, while Benjamin lives with his, so when a relative arrives alarm bells sound for Benjamin, but Tilly is delighted. She is one for seeing the best in people and so she is more vulnerable.
With the main stories between Tilly, Benjamin and their lives there are also more other things going on. There is a wedding, as the title obviously suggests, this wedding is something close to the hearts of several characters and once again the community is all in for helping out.
This series is a wonderful one, each visit is like coming back to a favourite literary holiday destination. Catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. I do like how the author incorporates little things into this story such as storm damage, especially as we have already had two winter storms already. It gives this story a feeling that what happens could be something that has been very recent.
Another fabulous addition to the Heritage Cove series and is one for those who adore lovely heart-warming, romance and contemporary fiction novels. It is one I would definitely recommend.
A winter/Christmas nobody will forget, for one reason or another
Tilly is the proud owner of ‘Tilly’s Bits ‘n’ Pieces’, a shop that sells, like the name says, a little bit of everything. Even if her father isn’t all that happy for the career she choose, she couldn’t be happier! Although, beside her wish to expand her shop, there would be one thing that would make her even happier… and that would be Benjamin. Since he has returned in the summer, both Tilly and Benjamin have been falling for each other but except the obvious flirting, nothing more has happened between them. However this winter, Tilly and Benjamin have both to cope with changes that are happening in their normal lives. Tilly is faced with an estranged relative and is happy that she can now expand her family. But even if Tilly gives everyone a chance, not everyone is so sure about the latest arrival to be full of good intentions. And Benjamin finds a letter concerning his parents that could turn his whole world around, and what will that mean for Mistletoe Gate Farm, and their selling of Christmas trees, wreaths and mistletoes?
Returning to Heritage Cove truly feels for me as returning home. the previous books made me fall in love with the place and its habitants, so being back, made me truly happy. And then I fell totally and utterly in love with Tilly and Benjamin! Being an only child, made Tilly always long for a bigger family. And when someone appears out of the blue, she is ready to give him the chance to redeem himself and make up for his mistakes in the past. And that is something I admired in Tilly… no matter what happened in the past, everyone deserves a second chance in her eyes. She also is very protective… you touch someone of her family, you touch her! And even if it’s Benjamin trying to protect her, even he can get in her bad book! But that doesn’t make her naïve, she just sees the best in everyone. She isn’t that gullible, and she even dares to stand her ground, how much it’s breaking her heart!
Talking about Benjamin… can I have him too? Please???? He would look great under as a gift from Santa! He is a great person, as a son, as a brother, as a friend. He is also a true romantic. And that shows not only the way he helps out with preparing the wedding for his friends, but also because he keeps his discovery a secret, not wanting to ruin Christmas. I found him a gentle soul, keeping true to himself, even if that caused him a heart – break in the past. He looks after his loved ones, even if that means he will get burned…
Tilly and Benjamin are perfect new examples of how the community of Heritage Cove works. Everyone looks after each other, helping hands are offered when needed and nothing is too much. And the wedding is a prefect example of how when everyone works together, you may not have the wedding you planned, but an even more magical one! And what made me like this story even more was the fact that yes, Tilly and Benjamin have feelings for each other, but though the whole story, the focus is on their friendship and showing us as a reader, and making the characters open their eyes to see what a perfect match they could be. This is not only the story of two persons that have been falling in love, but about a whole community that love each other!
I really felt enveloped in life at Heritage Cove. There’s quite a lot going on in this story, it feels idyllic but there is still love, heartbreak, hope, family feuds and more. The characters are lovely, I especially liked Tilly and Benjamin although I did want to give them both a shake to sort themselves out! I also enjoyed the other side stories too and I have a sweet spot for Barney for sure! There is so much friendship and community in this story, its really uplifting and very festive - there are Christmas trees, mistletoe, love and laughter. This is a wonderful read, so wrap yourself up in a big bookish hug, drink some mulled wine, and get some Christmas tunes and twinkling lights on immediately!

A treat to be back in Heritage Cove, this being book 4 in the series. Although I would highly recommend all the previous books, this can be read as a standalone, for fans of the series you do get to catch up with all our favourites a little, but the focus is instead on Tilly, who runs the local gift shop. Tilly is beyond happy when an estranged relative comes back to the Cove to show her how he has changed. He seems keen to support Tilly with plans for the shop. Everyone else may have misjudged him but Tilly really does believe she see’s the best in him. Benjamin is the pub chef who works extremely hard in supporting his parents on their Mistletoe Farm. When their happy marriage seems under strain, can Benjamin do anything to help or prevent things from going too far. Tilly and Benjamin have eyes for each other, everyone knows it but them. Can their blossoming friendship evolve into anything more, especially with everything that is happening in their lives? I love how these characters get under your skin, I was fully behind Benjamin and really felt for him when discovering the problems in his parents’ marriage. He is kind, caring and despite all the things he has to do his concern for Tilly is so heartwarming. Tilly is headstrong and to some extent very blinkered, especially where matters of the heart are concerned. I can understand why she is that way though. A kind soul, but one that could be hurt if not careful. A lot happens throughout this book but I guarantee you will be swept up in it and fully engrossed. I couldn’t put it down, which is pretty standard for anything Helen writes. With love, marriage, break-ins and break-ups, a turbulent time this festive season but one that will ultimately lead to a warm, Christmas story, full of heart and soul. Highly recommended this festive season.
I got lost in this book, and fell a little bit in love with Mistletoe Gate Farm. I mean it just sounds so amazing and I’ve always wanted to go to a Christmas tree farm! The sheer joy of being able to pick your own tree and then see it being chopped down and netted in front of you… one day I will do it!
This is another book that’s actually part of a series set around Heritage Cove but I haven’t read any of the previous ones so can safely say that this can easily be read as a standalone. Although it will leave you wanting to know more about the residents of Heritage Cove!
I love it when a book has a strong sense of community and friendship and this book has it down to a T! There are just a few hiccups that the residents have to work together for in this, not least the wedding that they are having to save after a brutal storm has battered the original venue.
Tilly and Benjamin are both such lovely characters and you really want them both to be honest with each other about their feelings. You know when everyone else can see something apart from the people involved… well this is the situation here!
I’ve really enjoyed my trip to Heritage Cove with Tilly and Benjamin and I’m sure it won’t be long before I pay it a return visit! I’m eager to try some of the waffles that’s for sure!!!
This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Rachel for letting me take part in this tour and to Helen for my copy of this book. This is the 4th book set in this little village but having only read 2 of the books I can safely say you can read these as standalones. I really enjoyed Christmas At the Little Waffle Shack which came out last year and was also set in Heritage Cove. It’s such a beautiful place to be at Christmas time.
Mistletoe Gate Farm sounds absolutely beautiful. Not only is it a great place to grab your christmas tree and decs. It also makes a fabulous wedding venue. It really is a romantic winter wedding destination.
Tilly is such a sweet kind hearted person. She is very forgiving but she is also very loyal. I really liked Tilly. I could easily see myself sitting down for a cuppa and cake or a few drinks in the pub with her. She is one of those people that everyone gets on with.
Benjamin, oh Benjamin! There were quite a few times I wanted him to just damn well ask Tilly out already. It’s obvious to everyone that these two have the hots for each other but Benjamin is a little nervous and scarred from his previous relationship.
This book will leave you feeling festive and wrapped up in all the romance. A perfect winter read.
A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm by Helen J. Rolfe
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily
This was my first book in the Heritage Cove series and I can assure you that this can be read as a stand-alone. There is a warm and cosy feeling to this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the community spirit in this book especially when everyone rallied around to save the wedding.
A lovely heart-warming festive story. I felt the need to shake Tilly and Benjamin in the hope that they would see sense.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first in the Heritage Cove series, Coming Home to Heritage Cove, and although A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate can be read as a standalone, it certainly helped me to sort out why Barney was such an important part of Melissa and Harvey's lives. It also helped me to understand why the loss of the barn as a wedding venue was such a blow. This is Tilly and Benjamin's story and it is very much a 'will they, won't they?' theme with lots of missed opportunities. Friendship and family are important, of course, although Benjamin's close family life seems under strain. Wedding preparations are very much part of the story, with a huge dose of romance to go with them. There are so many lovely festive touches which make it a great seasonal read. Tilly's family seems quite complicated and there is a mystery around some family members which has to be deciphered. If you are looking for a warm, heart-warming read this Christmas, look no further. In short: festive romance Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book
A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm is a romantic novel filled with charm. Set in Norfolk, with a few recognisable place names, the novel really comes alive through the community of characters living in Heritage Cove. Tilly, with her delightful gift shop, Benjamin whose parents own the farm, and a cast of friends and family who support one another through life’s trials and delights.
The story is good, supported throughout with relationships of every kind from family to friends to romance. I felt that Tilly was a strong female protagonist, which didn’t quite follow through when she met a shady character who littered red flags everywhere for us as readers but not for her. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the variety of love and support that she received. It would have been easy for this to predominantly come from her romantic interest, but we are reminded that love supports us through different relationships as well.
I would recommend A Winter Wedding at Mistletoe Gate Farm to anyone who delights in a light, feel good book.
It’s nearly Christmas, a time of peace and goodwill, but not everything - or everyone - is truly filled with goodwill or joy. A long estranged relative shows up, and Tilly is hopeful that she will be the one to end the strife between her father and his brother. The couple who run the Mistletoe Gate Farm seem like one of the happiest couples around, but maybe, all is not bliss in their household, much to the dismay of their adult children. But there is a wedding in the works, and maybe that magic will carry over to others. This lovely Christmas tale is sure to warm your hearts, even if everyone’s hopes are not granted. The author weaves a delightful story of life in a small town, where people, especially at Christmastime, do care about their neighbors.
With grateful thanks to Helen for yet again another outstandingly fabulous book 4th in the heritage Cove series they just get better and better, I've come love these characters there like a family I know. Must admit this one had me sitting on the edge of my seat at times. Can highly recommend these brilliant book
Was lovely to return to the Cove and catch up with everyone. A wedding at Christmas was a lovely storyline and after a few snags all worked out well in the end. Family secrets threaten Tilly but Barney and Benjamin have her back. Can’t wait to read what’s next for the community in Heritage Cove.
What a lovely feeling reading this book, back in Heritage Cove for a Christmas Wedding. A bit of a mystery runs through it involving Tilly at her shop and Benjamin for the farm. Great story looking forward to no 5 this summer.
I was so happy to find another Heritage Cove book, it was like checking in with old friends. Even better a wedding and Christmas in the same book, heartwarming through and through.
I loved this story of love and Christmas. I want to go to the farm to buy my Christmas tree. As always the story involves characters old and new. I would love to live in a village like Heritage Cove.
This book had it all for me. Love, drama, and intrigue. The story was great and, if possible, better than the last one. I couldn’t put it down. The Heritage Cove stories have a reality to them. If it was a real place, I would move there!
This was a bit of a roller coaster ride for Tilly. I just love the way everyone looks out for each other in this little village. It has everything you could ever want and moor. Its also got a very romantic ending. Im now off to start the next book in the series. Xx
Benjamin's family owns Mistletoe Gate Farm and as well he is the chef at the local pub. Tilly runs a shop called Tilly's Bits And Pieces. They have been friends for years, but both would like something more.
I enjoyed this book as much as the other 3 in the series. The characters are all adorable, well apart from the obvious one who is still well written. A really good story line.
Predictable and unfortunately poorly written. Felt really choppy with weak descriptions of things and stilted sentences. Not my fav of Helen's books, sadly.
