Flag Eight: A Thriller

Rate this book
A new president in Venezuela, Mateo Videgain, is facing a multitude of problems including a collapsed economy. He regards the United States as a major reason for this and his main enemy, deciding on a bold plan to consolidate his place in history.
Just 520 miles to the north is the US territory of St. Croix and Videgain decides to invade and occupy the island.
All hell breaks loose as, with help from Russia, his helicopters, warships, and troops attack. When the locals fight back against his vastly superior forces, the battle is short, and the Venezuelans take control.
Few countries have been ruled by seven different nations, but over the five hundred and twenty-eight years since St. Croix's discovery by Christopher Columbus, St. Croix has been a territory of Spain, France, the Netherlands, England, the Knights of Malta, Denmark, and most recently the U.S. In total, seven flags have flown over the island. The Venezuelan president raises his flag over the territory - flag eight.
He has not, however, factored in that Jason Overly, who has a home on the island, is also head of a clandestine intelligence operation called Purple Frog, which will do whatever is necessary to stop the plans of the Venezuelan president.
