SAN'TEN

The war has begun.

While my brethren find mates with these new hyu’mankin, I want nothing to do with such relations. There is only one need within me and I have been waiting for a long time to sate it—a need for WAR.

And I get a taste. It is a sweet fire that fills my soul as I destroy the beings who have ripped my world apart. I will know nothing sweeter…

That is…until she wakes.

When Mee’na escapes from Base Zero, I am the only one who can retrieve her. A traitor. She colludes with the very beings I have vowed to destroy. And my vengeance knows no bounds.

I will find her.
I will bring her back.
And she will pay .

But that sweet fire, that taste of war, is nothing like the fire I encounter on my quest. I am suddenly fighting two battles, and the one that will claim my heart, my soul, is the one I cannot afford to lose.

This one is my favourite so far which surprised me as I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. I think mostly because of San’ten but he turned out to be so much more than what I’d anticipated his character was a lot deeper and with many previously hidden nuances that only made me love everything about him. He did a complete 360 in regards to Mina his initial suspicions proving unfounded. His past experiences and hatred of the Gryken colouring his mindset somewhat. When he realises that they carry the same internal pains he pledges to assist Mina completely in all of her current goals whilst still attempting to maintain a certain distance as the last thing he wants or needs is a mate.

So both Mina and San’ten are recurring characters Mina is the female that initially was forcibly bred whilst in captivity. Up till this point, she’s been still in a sort of coma and it’s this current connection she has to the Gryken invaders that forms an integral part of this story. Here she finally awakens and realises fairly swiftly that she is somewhat changed by her ordeal and that she is currently a liability to all at base Zero.

Mina is actually a very capable individual she’s a former hostage negotiator she’s also currently disillusioned with humanity but also still willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good. It’s her lack of initial fear and her disconnect that contributes to San’tens suspicions she just doesn’t react how he expects her to. The dynamic that slowly builds between these two is such a lovely one.
Mina gradually becomes San’tens whole focus and priority her safety and survival his primary goal.

This was well written and incredibly engaging these two also had some explosive chemistry that gradually built in its momentum. I liked where this went and also the resolution finally achieved. This sort of then has an end game in regards to the whole story arc but I still feel there is room for future stories and was left with the vibe that the battle for earth is only just beginning. I definitely recommend this series if you like your alien romances with plenty of action and also a certain otherness to the alien involved. A fabulous series and this was the best one yet.

AG Wilde's sci-fi book four, War, is part of the dark-themed Captured Earth series that kicks off in an explosive way. What first looks like a meteor shower, they soon learn it is the death of humanity. Parasitic creatures who destroy all they come into contact with as they pillage and plunge, murder and rape through everything.

Hot on their heels are aliens that have lost everything to these creatures, hoping to stop them before it is too late. These new aliens are everything the parasites are not. They are loyal, have courage, and will take on all looming threats that jeopardise their lives and the lives they swore to protect. These alpha heroes find something they thought would never be possible, and that is a connection with humans and their mates in the face of uncertainty and danger.

War is high-stakes danger with romance, action, tension, vicious battles, danger, and suspense. A series that should not be missed.

Loved this series

Little bit of a spoiler regarding the ending. I absolutely loved this series and feel it should be made into a movie. However, and it really pains me to say this I was a little disappointed with the ending because it didn't not say in the last battle if fi,rox who's fighter jet went down was ok or not. I feel the story didn't come to a conclusion on what happened after and I was wondering if this is because there may be more in future even though this was book 4 of 4 there was a phrase San'ten said that made me believe there could be more.

San’ten and Mina
I was so excited for their book that I skipped book 3!
Though I think being overly excited for something tends to build too much expectation for me and I’m always let down, to some extent. I loved the MCs, just like I knew I would - the let down came more from the story plot itself.

There were some really questionable moments for me, like the part where Mina was VERY CLOSE to being raped because San’ten decided to vanish after mentioning that there were males nearby. Apparently he ran off to try to save a female but was too late and while he was gone Mina was fighting so hard, I’m guessing the point was to show us that she had some strength and fight in her, but if San’ten was going to show up and save her anyways it really didn’t need to be dragged on that long. And the dialogue/first interaction with the military was really meh, what was the point of having all that crap happen and then have someone else who was in charge run out and be like “Jk sorry about that guy we know all about your friend and we want in on this fight “ and then the ending itself felt pretty abrupt. 99% of the time I’m not satisfied with endings but in this case i was really hoping for an epilogue a few weeks /days out of the future of what’s happening - who’s staying and who’s going back to their planet. An ending like that would’ve been equally as open for more books to come but given more of a closure.

Anyways, these are all personal opinions not facts and everyone is entitled to feel different things in different situations.

What I liked about this series was that there was a lot of action going on, a lot of danger and I personally do enjoy darker themes. I really liked that there wasn’t a big focus on being sexually attracted to each other at the beginning, in a lot of cases I don’t even get to 15% and I’m already reading about someone’s aching cock so this was a nice change. I feel like the romance was kinda secondary to the plot but I might only feel that way because I wanted a lot more on-page interactions that weren’t just focused on the war.

ALSO, I know this is dark so who am I to want there to be more romance and tenderness but like… these females were picked up to be “breeders” Mina was impregnated, I was expecting a lot more discussion/tenderness around breeding with the Vullan? I think that’s what they are called. I don’t remember. 😬 yah they wanna continue their species, they are very happy to have found females but like… maybe talk about expanding the family ? Too much was undiscussed, action/battle was the main focus which is totally fine, still a good read but it left me wanting cos I’m greedy.

EDIT: Author’s website has a free epilogue for Fi’rox. 🥰

I was worried the enemies part of the enemies-to-lovers was going to go on too long for my liking, but that was not the case. This was my favorite of the series. San'ten is big softie for Mina. I liked their physical journey as well as their emotional journey. Great end to a fabulous series!

Wow 🤩 what a final battle and what I've been waiting for San'Ten and his charming personality to unfold before us and it paid off - less words and the right accentuating actions - I love it!
Mina's evolution from initial victim to 'I've had it and I'm not taking any shit' was great.

A really worthwhile and entertaining series.

A.G Wilde can write. I always want to read her books. What I mind in War is the darkness that does not exists in the H. The book one was great in that department. But in every other book the hero gets to sweet for my taste. I do not like nothing to dark but a pinch of it would be great.
It is just my taste. I need my alien's to be more wicked but not cruel.

I really don’t remember what prompted me to put this on my TBR, but I’m glad I did. I haven’t read the rest of this series but I didn’t feel lost reading this 4th one. I liked the slow(ish) burn and I liked the characters. The plot felt a little all over the place but I was just happily along for the ride. Definitely a solid alien romance.

This one was stressful and anxiety inducing lol. The final battle had me worried! At one point one of the guys ships goes down and we are left hanging on whether or not he is okay. I'm assuming yes? I enjoyed this one for the reasons that I enjoyed the others. This one was a nice slow burn. The spicy scenes are 🔥🔥. I also love seeing a hero that would burn down the world for his mate.

This is one of my favourite Sci-fi Alien romance series ever, and I’ve read my fair share of them. I’ve been fascinated by the plot and the premise of this series from book one. Never read anything quite like this before and every book so far has been a top tier read.

San’ten and Mina’s story has been hinted at since book one and I couldn’t have been happier to finally read it. As always the author delivers amazing chemistry, heat and romance. I adored this couple!

San’ten, despite all his surliness, was such a pleasure to read about. His internal tug of war when it comes to his feelings for Mina was strangely endearing. I loved his fierce will to never abandon Mina and protect her even when he doesn’t trust her. And Mina was a stunning FL- strong, intelligent, fierce and selfless. I love how A.G. Wilde writes the women in her books! I felt for Mina deeply, especially after all she’s been through. I desperately wanted her to have her HEA since book one and I’m so thrilled to finally have it.

This entire series has a darker more grim tone to it, but this book more than others because it’s like the culmination of all events that the earlier books have been leading up to. The stakes felt a lot higher in this one, and I personally loved it. And as much as I hated the Gryken, I have to admit they were some of the most well written and interesting villains in alien romance I have ever encountered. They had so much personality and there was grotesque sort of thrill in reading about bad guy aliens who are actually terrifying.

I appreciated the ending of this book. It felt believable to me, if a little rushed. Though I would have liked to see more of our earlier couples and their HEAs in the epilogue of this book, since I don’t know if we will get any more books in this series, especially Fi’Rox and Deja because the last thing I read about Fi’rox’s fate wasn’t exactly uplifting. I’m just gonna pretend the crash didn’t affect him and he was fine.

Overall this was a fantastic series and the Vullans are easily some of the most interesting and endearing alien heroes I have ever read. I would love to read more about them, either in this series or perhaps another one.

Can’t wait to read whatever A.G. Wilde comes up with next. I’ve read everything else she’s ever written and loved it all. I can’t wait for the next ‘Wilde’ ride she takes us on!

CW: Mentions of assault by villains and pregnancy resulting from it. If you read the earlier books then this would come as no surprise to you.

War de A.G. Wilde serie Captured Earth libro 4

Argumento:

San'ten

Y mi venganza no conoce límites.

🔥 “I have laid claim, Mina. I will not let them have you. You are mine.”
~~~
Mina’s been through unimaginable horrors in the hands of the Gryken and yet she has the strength and bravery to endure everything and make them pay. She’s a survivor. Even more, she’s so caring, compassionate and selfless, willing to sacrifice herself to save everyone. This former hostage negotiator is one remarkable woman and I couldn’t help but admire and love her so much.
And San’ten is such a ray of sunshine. If your idea of sunshine is one huge, dark, angry, growly and glaring alien. Yup, he’s one surly male. But there is so much more to him than meets the eye. Because San’ten is also fiercely loyal, protective and strong and I absolutely adored everything about him!
I loved everything that happened between Mina and San’ten. In the beginning, there was so much tension, distrust and animosity between them. And Mina’s escape from Base Zero fueled San’ten’s suspicions even more. But when his beliefs were proven wrong, those two became an unstoppable team determined to do everything to see the Gryken fall. I loved the time they spent together on their dangerous quest. Even more, I loved that San’ten and Mina could be vulnerable with each other and that he was always by her side even in her darkest moments. Mina and San’ten were so perfect for each other and when they finally gave in to their undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were scorching hot. I just couldn’t get enough of either of them!
In addition, the storyline was spectacular. The final battle to save Earth is here and the Gryken are not to be underestimated. Even more, throughout the series we got to witness the best and the worst in humanity. And the Vullan are a force to be reckoned with. So, who’s going to win in the end?
Overall, the story is a marvellous addition to the series. It’s filled with danger, suspense, non-stop action, drama, violence, destruction, twists, blazing hot romance and magnificent characters.
I absolutely loved it!
Solid 3.5
I liked this story. Contrary to my less than 5 star rating. There’s just a few things I struggled with.
It was really hard for me to move forward with the book at first. I literally read two books in between this one. The first few chapters were rough for me because there were points where; had I not read who’s perspective the chapter was from, I would have thought it was all San’ten speaking. I know Mina was supposed to be a shell of herself. But damn. It was dry.
But once I got passed that, I cared a little more about the story. I mean don’t get me wrong, I was always curious about San’ten and his angry self, it was shell Mina that was killing me.
Anywho another thing that irked me was that there wasn’t really a plan besides lead the Grekyn away from the base. Okay. But then what? I would have been okay with this caution to the wind, make up as I go motif had Mina not been a former government employee. A negotiator for C - sakes! That told me she had some critical thinking up her sleeve. I kept waiting for this plan to come together which would have been dope, but it just never did. So what was the point of her former job even being brought into it?
I was getting irritated at the end with all these peeps getting messed up when we all knew who the key to salvation was. But I did appreciate the angst it caused too. Especially what she ended up doing.
Overall the book was good. I’m annoyed that Deja barley had two lines while the other two Vullan mated women had actual dialogue. AND there was no mention if Fi’ro made it or not, like I hate how they were kinda written as the throw away couple.
But anyway it was cool. But I am kind of glad it’s maybe buttoned up. Though I am curious about the Doctor, I’m afraid he’ll get put with some basic chick and that’ll just piss me off haha.
LONG AWAITED COUPLE!!! I can't believe Santen and Mina's story's here!!! I was intrigued by these two ever since the first book, and did it live up to my expectations? Yes! Well, it definitely didn't suck and points for it being NOT INSTA-LOVE, so yeah, it's good that way.
SANTEN was the pricklier alien compared to his brethren and we finally understand why he's the way he is. From the first time we met him, his hostility towards the Gryken resonates deeper than any other characters and that probably affects his treatment towards Mina who carried the spawn of the enemy. Despite his gruffness, Santen possesses a strong, honourable and loyal spirit which makes him attractive despite his alien appearance. Either way, I was surprised to find out that he's a virgin! And again, it seems like lately I've been reading a lot of stories with heroes who are all hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Basically if you've read plenty of alien sci-fi romance, Santen would rank somewhere up there for his protectiveness, possessiveness and loyalty.
MINA was a poor victim of the Gryken's invasion and in this book she finally awakes from treatment ever since they removed the enemy spawn from her womb. Needless to say, the poor woman's changed for life, and I mean that literally. As a survivor, she now has new abilities that makes her a liability to their base because the Gryken are tracking them through her! So she makes a decision to leave base zero only to have Santen hunt her down and thus begins their long awaited romance!
OVERALL this was everything I kinda expected, and I enjoyed every second of it. Most alien sci-fi starts of being insta-love and that is BOOOORRRINNGGG! But A.G.Wilde has me converted into a fan now with her OG writing. While not all her plots appeal to me, Fer'ro and Santen's stories are my favourite and most likely to be recommended in the series.
This book was the hardest for me to read until now. I’m not sure why, but I could deeply feel and understand the pain of these characters. The story went in a very different direction than I expected, it was really entertaining to be surprised by all the things going on. I don’t know how to explain how good this series has been, the author definitely knows how to write enjoyable and enthralling sci-fi.
This couple was the one I was expecting since the first installment, I just knew they were going to be together. However, I didn’t expect things to turn the way they did. The heroine felt broken, but still found strength to fight and be extremely selfless. The hero was a hot head, but it was understandable and he was quite quick in changing his ways with the heroine. I loved how he was still grumpy with everyone else, but melted for her. They were honestly really great together.
The easiness of A.G. Wilde’s writing is what made me devour these books so quickly. Despite creating brand new concepts and a great world building, she still did it in a way that wasn’t confusing or hard to understand. I’m really impressed by this series and I cannot wait to see what the last installment brings to us, since the war back plot seemed finished. I’m even more curious now to know what else will come.
The whole part about .
The author is finally getting over the melodramatic formatting and sentence fragments and using actual sentences now. Yay. Her sense of timing, however, remains incredibly poor. One line of dialogue, two pages of internal monologuing, another line of dialogue, another page and a half of internal monologuing. And sometimes none of this is connected; sometimes one thing has nothing to do with the other. Most of it felt like filler. Like the . If she had, she might have reached a point of plausibility with the story. Nope.
One other thing that bothers me about this series: everything is so fucking generic. Generic settings, generic dialogue, generic language, generic feelings (literally, they all feel and say the same things, even when the author makes a point of exploring different backstories). The characters and situations aren't quite interchangeable, but it's a close thing.
I really shouldn't give this one three stars, but it felt like a three-star, middle-of-the-pack, almost-good read, so. *shrug*
Absolutely fantastic story💖🌟🔥
We meet Mina in the first book she was used as a host of the invader and when they were rescued by the Vullan they got the spawn out of her but she has been healing for the last 3 books. She finally awakens in this book and she's not quite 100% human any more. San’ten has been the short tempered Vullan who trusts no one and only wants to decimate the enemy. When he sees Mina he's drawn to her but he knows she's not right and he doesn't trust her at all. Their relationship starts off very tense and seeped in suspicion. When Mina realizes that the Gryken are art r her she knows she need to leave the others and lewd them away. When she escapes, San’ten follows her believing she is a traitor an going over to the enemy. What he finds is something that changes his world forever. Danger stalks them at every turn , war has begun and these two souls never believed that they would find a bond of love so strong. They go from enemies to friends to lovers. Fabulous characters , chemistry off the charts and a storyline that WILK keep you read late into the night. I can't wait to read the next! Andi hope there will continue to be more!🔥🌟💖🔥🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟
I’m almost done but I’m too irritated by Mina to even continue reading this book.
I’ve been following this series and I’ve like a few of the other books but my irritation with this one is how careless Mina comes off to me.
When they were at the apartment where the shower scene happened, you’re informed that unknown people are approaching , she even said it’s not nice people who survive an apocalypse so tell me why this girl leaves the only weapon she had in the bathroom to go hide.
I was irritated then but I just told myself they’re humans maybe that’s why she didn’t take the weapon with her.
But at the camp where you hear the enemy is approaching everyone around you is grabbing things to protect themselves and you who actually has a weapon that can kill them doesn’t even move to take it till the very last moment only to fumble and drop it after just managing to kill one.
Even the alien guy in this books was very disappointing to me when it comes to the tactical aspect of things
I’m just too irritated to continue reading this book the H & h seem very stupid to me
best of the series
My goodness was this series excellent. The Vullen are some of the best sci-fi aliens I’ve read about. They are strong and have their symbiotic suits that make them like Venom. They are harsh warriors but are honorable and soft. And San’ten is no different. He is such a cinnamon roll with a gooey center just for Mina. And she is the center of the whole series. The Gryken want her. She is connected to them and it was written so well in the battle scenes of the war. Her calm in the chaos. I don’t want to spoil the story but it was like movie scenes where a character calmly walks in slow motion through the world imploding around them. And my prior complaints about the books previously in the series(which I loved them all) ending with the relationships feeling incomplete was not the case for this one at all. They definitely come together and nothing felt unsaid between them. Overall I loved the over arcing plot in the series. It’s very detailed and well written without feeling overwhelmed with descriptions or unneeded info. It’s fast paced and I just loved it. Eager to read more by this author.
The rebirth of Mina McCleary
This is book four of this series that I am reading and it is on point with the war and enemy. This book features the human female, Mina McCleary, that they saved from the enemy who was breed by them too. She does not awake for a long time but when she does she feels different. Mina is struggling to find a purpose to live with the Earth being invaded plus the loss of life and loved ones. Santen, the warrior, watches Mina closely. He does not trust her and feels something that he cannot put his finger on. Mina has a vacant look on her and it reminds him of his own birth mate who was possessed by the enemy now on Earth. Trigger warnings about war, violence, abuse, etc. for this Sci-Fi series. It’s a captivating storyline. Read On!
I’m an avid AG Wilde reader and I some how missed this series of hers…what a mistake! This is even better than her others for me because it’s a tiny bit on the dark side and I love a sci-fi romance and a dark romance this is a whole other type! I loved the aloofness between our FMC and MMC. Talk about tall, dark, and alien. The story threw us for so many curve balls but it was all worth it. I loved it and I have to read the other books now! I listened to the audio book of this story and the narrators were perfect for both characters. The spicy scenes were also so so good. I can not wait for more!
Spoiler: we win
Of course we do. Humanity must prevail.
This book covers the story of Mina and San'ten. She leaves Base Zero, and he is sent to track her. He thinks she is a traitor. Classic enemies to lovers.
I really loved the story of the Vullan coming to Earth to save humanity, but after the second book, the romance part seemed a little formulaic. Each one followed the same basic pattern, and I was more interested in the fight than the spice.
I'm not sure how many more I'll read in the series. I think I'm ready for a new world and a new species of alien.
I will definitely read more by AG Wilde.
This is what an alien dystopian romance series should be. The characters feel so real, their struggles and interactions wholly believable. The aliens look and act, feel and think in ways that highlight their own values. They’re not just a slightly different version of humanity. I absolutely loooved this series. The books have all been 4s and 5s for me, something that never happens now that I’ve read enough and my tastes have become very discerning. I only wish the author wouldn’t end the series here. Fingers crossed she’ll keep going—the Vullan are my absolute favorite book boyfriends ☺️
Hmm I'm not sure how to describe this one. I like Mina and San-ten. They have a good dynamic and I liked how the story progressed. But some things in the book made me confused and a bit lost.
Why does every Vullan initially think the mating was forced when they see a Vullan mated with a human?
Why didn't Mina realise the reason they wanted her after the first conversation with the Gryken? Mina is supposed to be a hostage negotiator and good with her words, why didn't the author take the chance to show that when she talks to people? So many small things like this that left me confused.
Very nice ending to a fabulous series.
Not the ending I was hoping for, but it wasn't bad. I loved the romance aspect of it, but I didn't get the big fighting scene I wish or a sneak peak of how humans started building life again on Earth and how they welcomed Vulan in their lives. Still, I'm giving it 5 stars because it was indeed a very good read.
These books shouldn't be read as standalone in my opinion. You treasure them more if you read the whole series and start from book one.
War
San'tan is one of the Vullan who came to earth to help eradicate the World destroying Gryken. Their world was rendered lifeless and revenge is a motivation. Mina has woken after recovering from her necessary abortion to remove the implanted Gryken. She ends up imprisoned after they learn she hears the invaders want her as their Queen. This last book of the Alien invasion is an excellent way to finish!
Epic Saga with Romance
This is the last book in a gripping series about the battle for Earth and the heroes and heroines who along with another alien group of warriors, saved Earth from the Gryken.
I became glued to this series after starting it and got almost nothing done until finishing it. The series gripped my imagination and didn't let go. I would highly recommend this book to any sci-fi fan or romance junky. It wouldn't disappoint you!
This series!!!!
I have adored this series! While alien is my genre of choice atm apocalyptic, it has never been my thing, BUT this series is Riveting! The world (or should i say end of the world) AG Wilde has created is gripping! I love the different characters, and each story has kept me on the edge of my seat!
This book....Mina....it was all so unexpected AND perfect! The end battle how Mina outwitted them all! Just perfection!!!!!
Kinks/Tropes: aliens, apocalyptic
Thoughts:
Think I’ve liked this one least so far, only because the trauma that the FMC went through felt over in a flash. Very little show of it and yeah I get that she is numb because there’s a change in her DNA. Regardless, I think there could have been a bit more than the FMC just being a badass.
I still like the series and would reread this book if I was reading the series again.
