Outed is a coming-out MM sports romance and book 2 in the Off the Field duet. It is not a standalone novel.
Aron Parker and Drew Rockland never expected to fall for each other when they were traded to the same team. While playing the biggest games of their lives, an accidental slip of the tongue in front of a teammate threatens to expose them before they’re ready.
Wanting to prove to the sports world that who you love doesn’t change who you are on the field, the guys decide to come out after the season ends.
As Aron and Drew get closer to their dream of winning it all, Drew’s ex drops another bomb that neither of them expects, and just as the guys think they have a handle on everything, an agreement is made that could change it all and threatens to tear them apart.

Outed is book two in the Off the Field Duet by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams. If you read the first book in this duet, Traded, then you know I fell madly in love with these two men, Aron and Drew. Now it’s time for the rest of their story! If you haven’t read the first book, you need to before this one. This book begins immediately where the previous book left off.
Aron Parker and Drew Rockland’s story may have begun with a bit of a rocky start! To put it mildly. But in the first book, these two men quickly realized that the other was so much more than they ever imagined. And they fell in love. They were playing on the same team, the Colorado Rockies, and decided to keep their relationship secret until the season finished so as not to distract the team. All they really wanted was to play baseball to the best of their ability, and to love each other with everything they had.
Our two guys were challenged time after time in this second book. From greedy, vindictive exes, to homophobic team mates, to natural disasters, they were tested time and time again. What I loved the most is that they stuck together through it all! They knew they were stronger as a couple and they supported one another through everything. They talked things out, didn’t keep secrets. And most of all, they loved each other. I think one of my favorite things is when a couple frequently tells the other that they love them, at any random time. It could be riding in the car and they were just feeling it and needed to say it. I swoon every time.
Through it all, Aron and Drew found new friendships with their team mates and found love and support through their families. Even though baseball had been the focus of both of their lives since the beginning, I loved that the love they shared was their priority. None of it mattered without each other. Aron makes a new friend, Slate Rodgers who I was intrigued by and realized that his story was already told in a previous novella by Kimberly Knight, Sensation Fantasies 3.
The ending of this book was perfect and swoony and just wonderful. I was just so happy! I truly am so glad I decided to read this duet and meet these two men. I adore them and I hope you will too! I also hope these two authors decide to jump back into the MM Romance genre soon. I’ll be waiting if they do!
To the straight person who wrote this and the straight people who obviously edited it ~ Being gay is NOT a lifestyle. I was really enjoying this series until the part where one of the characters said San Francisco would be more excepting of their “life style”.
If you are going to profit by writing books about the gay community at least educate yourself. It’s the bare minimum you can do. Also involve members of the LGBTQ+ community in your editing process.
Yes, this review is harsh but anyone with any real connection to the LGBTQ+ community knows not to use “lifestyle”.
Traded begins with two rival MLB players. Aaron is a cocky outfielder who kills it at bat and he loves to show off. He sleeps his way through girls he meets at bars and is quite frankly a little sleazy, well, a lot sleazy.
Drew is a pitcher. He’s with a model with plans to marry her until… you’ll have to read it to find out. Just know, it’s not pretty.
Aaron talked some trash about Drew and to get his revenge, Drew beaned him with a fastball. So, both hotheads get into a fight.
So, of course, days later the two are traded to the same team. Even worse, they’re forced to share a temporary apartment. Which unsurprisingly leads to arguments, which shockingly leads to a kiss that makes them question everything.
Throughout Traded and Outed you discover their backgrounds that would lead to their personalities as they traverse a minor rollercoaster to becoming a couple.
I enjoyed both books in this duet. It was easy to listen to and kept my interest. I loved Drew and Aaron grew on me. And the steam was pretty great. Overall a fun read.
Yeah I read this one too. And resuming in the same fashion as the first "review" (Spoilers galore peeps)
- "I'm in love with you and instead of being a man, I was a pussy." (p. 19) AH why am I still reading this - "But could it be that the one person he (Dad) finally wanted to date after my mother died was the mom of the man I finally wanted to be with forever?" (p. 30) because a lil bit more unncessary drama is just what we needed - "especially the longer the paternity results took to come back" (p. 40) don't make it be the fake 'I'm pregnant ploy' *eye roll* - "Yeah, so I'm not pregnant" (p. 52) classic - "Drew and I had only been on and off for roughly three months, but I hated to hear about how my future almost didn't include him (p. 89) aha. you can tell I'm super invested in these guys - "I just know who not to shower with now" (p. 100) Homophobia and the 'gay gaze' - "That's wild her boyfriend's last name is Rockland" (p. 104) the parent drama wasn't drama so let's add in a long lost brother? dude why wasn't this one book - "have a headache coming on." "Is this your way of getting out of sex tonight?" he teased. (p. 117) ugh - "And hopefully that would be the last time he saw her" (p. 132) mhm - "Drew made me realize what mattered in life. It wasn't banging random chicks in bathroom bars..." (p. 150) Oh how lovely the redemption half sentence about the poor girl in book 1 - "my hand wasn't going to be the same. How was I going to survive? (p. 167) oh no poor man can't survive without sex - BMW (p. 171) and Jaguar F-Pace (p.199) not good enough and also don't fit the character, which cocky 28-year-old would drive a SUV over a sports car? - "We were almost speaking telepathically to each other as I positioned myself against his rim" (p. 173) Were you now? - "My heart stopped as I saw Drew leaning in, smiling and looking as though he was about to kiss Matthewson. What. The. Fuck?" (p. 191) bro thought you had a near telepathic connection with your guy? this is so far past ridiculous - "I released my bag, pulled out the black plated tungsten ring from my pocket, and got down on one knee." (p. 222) What the fuck? They're in the middle of the season or aren't they? They've barely been together and have loads to work on. remember what happened but 30 pages ago? huh - "that quickly changed when I ran into the asshole Bass" (p. 223) let's quickly sprinkle another bit of homophobia into the HEA
Oh and I'm not even going to talk about the Epilogue.
Yeah this book should not have been written, nor should I have read it.
This was an amazing second book. We got to see the love between these two even more. They showed it doesn't matter who you love, it doesn't change who you are. These two were awesome together and I was so glad I got to read these two books. I can't wait for Matthewson's story !!
This installment is a wonderful conclusion to Aron and Drew's love story.
I'm giving this book 4.25⭐, because I absolutely loved this couple and I feel great after reading their story.
Aron and Drew do get found out at the end of Traded by their team captain Matthewson, but since he's bisexual himself, he doesn't say anything to the team. The person who outs them in this installment is Jasmine, Drew's crazy ex. There's a bit of angst and drama with her stalking and blackmailing, but it gets resolved in the first half of the book and I was so glad about that, because that meant the second half will be all about them.
What I really liked in this book was again the pacing. Aron and Drew's story is told as it naturally evolves and it doesn't leave out all the everyday details that we usually don't get when the couple start their life together, so I was really glad the second half of the book dealt with their work and personal lives and everyone who was involved in their journey, including their parents.
They navigate a long distance relationship for a while and it only solidifies the love between them.
A simple, yet really satisfying love story between two men who found amazing love together and they didn't find it in 3 days and rode that high for 2 months until marriage, but this story took place for months, over a year, and really gave this relationship a realistic timeframe to develop. It was very believable.
I absolutely loved both MMCs, they were just simply men, just men and that's what I often miss in books. Their dialogues, the way they interacted with each other and others was just simply being men and I think the authors really did their work here - male characters, but written from a female perspective and made very, very believable.
Aron and Drew go on a wonderful getaway to Hawaii together, where they eventually get married.
I cannot tell you how much I loved this couple. I really did. Aron was a young, careless guy who only wanted to have fun in the first book and we're seeing him mature and become serious about someone and his future for the first time in his life. 👌
They both compliment each other, give each other support and are emotionally always there for one another. A really solid, mature relationship.
🌶️ The spice was great, as it was in the first installment, but there was more on-page spice in this book. They have amazing sexual chemistry and it flows naturally.
🔵 I have to mention the baseball references. I think I've never read a book with more detailed and real descriptions of the game. I'm no expert, but if you're a fan, you'll love this, I'm sure.
🟢 These two books are actually related to a couple of others, you'll get the story of Matthewson in Dibs and the story of Slate Rodgers in Sensation Fantasies 3. Yep, I'll read 'em all.
*ALC received from Audibly Addicted in exchange for my honest review. *
Lords above Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams wanted us to work for this happily ever after, didn't they??
At the end of Traded book one in the Off the Field Duet we find Aron and Drew at a bit of a crossroads wondering what is in store for them next. Their relationship is a whole different playing field neither one of them ever anticipated. With outside forces constantly getting in their path it is making it seem almost impossible for their love to be. When one word is uttered that could change everything for them do they stay and fight or do they give up now while both of their hearts are still mostly intact?
Not going to lie, I was a bit terrified there for a minute wondering if they would truly find their way back to one another. For Aron he had never been in a relationship before much less a relationship with a man and for Drew he was so in love with Aron and that he was far more terrified of not being with him at the end of the day than anything.
Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo nailed it again as Drew and Aron. Tim Paige is an auto buy narrator for me because his voice always pulls you in but there is just something about his desperation in this story that took it to the next level. Then Liam DiCosimo might be a newish narrator, but he knows what he needs to do to have all the listeners drooling.
This is the first book or books by these two authors that I have listened to, and they captivated me with their world of baseball, drama, and moments of pure and absolute love. I will definitely be reading more from them in the future especially if there are more books in this world of baseball they have created.
Batter (and other things 😉) up! These guys want to play with balls
Outed picks up right where Traded ended, with our lovelies relationship progressing, but also with their relationship about to be revealed - but will it happen in their own time?
I liked that whilst their is an outing and other people not on board with them, there really wasn't too much OTT drama.
Sure, there is Drew's ex to deal with, but even then it wasn't too bad,
I loved the strength between Drew and Aron, how they love, support and build each other up whilst other try to tear them down (seriously toxic masculinity has no place in sports - or anywhere else - in 2022!). They go to show that love wins.
I enjoyed getting to know more of their team mates and friends, and am really looking forward to the next guy in series find his HEA - we get some lead up to it in this story.
i like the style of these two writers together, and I look forward to seeing what they bring us in the future.
OUTED is Aron and Drew's continuation and the second book in the Off the Field Duet series.
Drew and Aron are loving their lives and how everything seems to be working out for them, even after coming out. Drew's past and Aron's present come out of nowhere and threaten everything they have come to know and love.
I jumped into this book so quickly and devoured it just as fast as TRADED. I love how Drew and Aron complement each other and make each other better all around. This one is a little more on the emotional side. I am happy that everyone gets their HEA in the end and that all issues were dealt with. These books are not standalones and must be read in order.
OUTED contains... mm, sports (baseball), established couple, secret relationship, coming-out, dual first-person point of view.

I have been anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this duet and it did not disappoint. “Outed” is a steamy MM romance about love and finding your forever in the last place you suspect to find it.
The story picks up right where “Traded” left off at. Drew and Aron’s relationship is almost discovered by a teammate. They aren’t ashamed of their relationship but don’t want the spotlight turned on them while the Rockies are in the playoffs trying to make it the World Series. But the worst ex from the past keeps coming back and trying to worm her way back into Drew’s life. Life also tries throwing in other issues in their way.
I loved Drew and Aron. Both are alpha males with different personalities that work so well together. The beginning of their relationship started out with hate but developed into one of my favorite enemies to lovers stories. They were true enemies but once that chemistry was discovered, it ignited like a firework and exploded into something amazing. The authors did an amazing job of bringing the hate a gay couple could recieve when they’re out in public. The timeline was wonderful, and we got to see their relationship blossom. The epilogue was so perfect and left me with a big smile on my face.
Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long to read Outed. Because the massive cliffhanger in Traded left me with my mouth open and, since I'm a curious person, I needed to know what happened next. As Aron and Drew's relationship progresses, it is obvious something will happen. Why you might ask? Well, the title of the book pretty much gives it away. And this added a layer of angst because it's not a matter of what but when. The authors, Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams, were brilliant about it and keep the reader guessing until they strike!
As their relationship comes out, they are set on demonstrating that they are professionals and that their private lives don't affect their day jobs. A lot happens and they will have to face issues upon issues. And when I say a lot, I really mean a lot. Overall, it works. Aron and Drew's story feels real and, to me, that is the best accomplishment of this book. They learn to be a couple and deal with things as they go.
The side characters are the best. Francine (Drew's mom) and Joel (Aron's dad) are adorable. And Matthewson is a revelation. I'm glad his book will be next because I want all the details!
Should have been condensed to one book - read on KU
The first book was decent. It took too long for them to even be in the same chapter together, but I enjoyed it after that. Only small parts of this were enjoyable. It was more of a long epilogue. It goes through the next coupke of weeks after the end of the first book for maybe the first third of the book, and then the next year of their lives with big leaps in time.
The spicy scenes were more of the same from the first book. It seemed like a lot of small bits were thrown in to make the story long enough to be a second book. The best part was their parents getting together. Then the epilogue throws in about 3 paragraphs about them finding a surrogate to have a child. I would have liked to have read a little more about that and less about the ex.
The writing style wasn't my fave, either. It seemed more of a recounting and less of a story in a lot of places if that makes sense. Like the writers were cataloging what happened. It was telling more than showing but more than just that.
I'll try another by this pair, but they won't be a pair a follow.
This book was unnecessary. It could have been condensed into one book. Like 100 more pages added to the first book could have finished this story off. Instead I was forced to pay for a second book to know what happened. And was subjected to almost 300 more pages of just dribble and not thought through story lines that didn’t really make sense. Instead of enjoying the remainder of Drew and Aron’s story I was annoyed that it was dragging on for so long. Would definitely NOT recommend this book. And because the wrap up wasn’t good, I wouldn’t recommend the first one either. Sorry, this is harsh, but I was so entirely disappointed after a cute little first part for the boys.
This duet started out OK, but it’s like they deployed every plot device they could think of and then did nothing with them. For example…the earthquake. What was the point? And running into anywhere that’s been hit by a major quake only makes first responders’ jobs harder…it’s a selfish, pointless, dumb thing to do.
I also found the MMC’s about face on sexuality was shallowly dealt with. It was like they weren’t and then suddenly it’s all they were. It was all a little too saccharine.
This was more like an extended epilogue. The big plot was about a conniving ex gf trying to blackmail them (enough with women being portrayed as shallow and bitchy or perfectly motherly). But this wraps up almost right away. After that it’s just this happened then this happened then this happened. And the MCs are totally perfect for each other and everything is perfect, of course.
Still glad I read it but the authors could benefit from writing courses and good editing.
What a home run! I have waited for this book forever and it was absolutely worth the wait and I couldn’t put it down! It was amazing and a grand slam out of the park! After the drama with Jasmine and cliffhanger in Traded of their relationship being discovered, I couldn’t wait to see how everything plays out and if Aron and Drew get their HEA.
The story picks up right where Traded ends and the story just gets better from there. I loved seeing their relationship grow even with all the bumps and drama along the way. Their characters have such a great dynamic. They both face challenges to be with each other from Drew and his ex drama to Aron dealing with his issues around relationships to be with Drew in addition to the scrutiny they face of their relationship. But they have great characters who support them-who couldn’t love Joel and Francine and their romance weaved into the book. I loved the other characters are written as well and can’t wait to read their stories. This author duo is just amazing and look forward to reading more from them in the future. I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest and fair review.
This is the second of the Off the Field duet and starts right where the first leaves off, so read Traded before this. The guys were NOT together at the end of book one, and there was a lot of drama surrounding Jasmine and that whole mess. With that situation still in play, will Aron and Drew figure out a way to make things work? Will they be able to make plans for the future or is that just a pipe dream?
This was a really good ending to the duet, I really enjoyed that we got to see their relationship play out and just how they worked things out. We get really good drama, and some hot naughty bits; I give this 4 stars.
A great read. This is the second part of Drew and Aron's story and although it can be read as a standalone, it is better read in sequence.
Drew and Aron are back together, but they are still keeping it a secret. Life gets complicated with Drew's ex girlfriend trying to blackmail him into pretending they are still a couple. Are they going to have problems with homophobic people once their secret is out? And what is happening with Drew and Aron's parents?
I loved how this book dealt with the developing relationship and how they coped with other people's reactions.
I don't normally read this genre but this book was hard to put down.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
First, if you haven’t read Traded, go read it! Aron and Drew’s story begins in Traded.
Aron and Drew didn’t like each other when they first met. Aron thought drew was too serious all of the time while Drew thought Aron was cocky, arrogant, and a show-off. But once the two were placed on the same team and forced to live together, they realized they not only didn’t hate each other, but they actually fell in love. But soon, their relationship is no longer a secret to the world.
When the season ends, Aron finds out his fate with the Rockies. Aron struggles with the decision about his career and what his future looks like. Can Aron and Drew’s relationship survive if they are not on the same team?
This is such a fabulous book written by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams. The duo hit it out of the park with Traded and Outed.
What an experience this book was! The fast pace, non-stop action, plus all those exciting and enraging moments just kept coming. I needed to put my kindle down a few times because the stress and anger made me need to walk away. That’s what you call fabulous writing.
Aron and Drew made me happy and anxious and sad and happy so many times. Their love is the thing we all strive for. These two, and their parents were fantastic characters that grew and evolved so well throughout the two books. The ending was exactly how it should be and had me choked with emotion.
This story is thoroughly enjoyable and addictive reading that I hope many people will enjoy as much as I did.
I had been waiting for this book since getting an arc of the first book and let me just say it did not disappoint.
There was lots of moments of happy, moments of shock, tender moments, definitely some jaw droppers as well. There’s a bit of everything. And the spice? Immaculate.
The ending was the perfect way to wrap up their story and gave them the happy life they both deserve to have.
Outed by Kimberly Knight and Rachel Lyn Adams is a coming-out MM sports romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Liam DiCosimo and Tim Paige. This is the second book in the Off The Field Duet.
This is the second book of Kimberly and Rachel's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Aron and Drew. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Liam and Tim did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you like MM romances, enemies to lovers romances, or sports romance.
This book is useless. I mean, it’s like an extensive epilogue of book one. The main plot is settled quite rapidly and after that it just dragged and dragged some more with many subplots.
At 50% I was very bored. I tried to read some more but… I completely lost all what was left of interest.
Book 1 and book 2 should’ve been edited better in one solid book.
This is the second installment of the Traded. While the inclusion of Jasmine’s character may have been necessary, the conclusion of the story involving Drew and Aron is highly engaging. The narrative presents a series of challenges that ultimately strengthen their bond. I trust you will find the duet enjoyable, as it is an entertaining read.
This picked up right from where the last finished and it was definitely PACKED. So much happened, like right up to 85%, it was just one thing after the other, for me it was a little too much drama but I did really enjoy it. It was nice to see the boys work through things together. They were so good together, drews ex really drove me up the wall with every thing she was constantly doing. And Omg the epilogue, it was everything 😭🫶🏼 really enjoyed this duet and I’m looking forward to reading Matthewsons story!
Welp I’m sad! I enjoyed Aron and Drew’s story a little too much it seems. These two made me fall in love with them in book one and how that book ended had me on pens and needles. So… finally having book two and seeing everything play out was thoroughly entertaining. These two authors work seamlessly together the flow of this book was exceptional. I love a HEA and even with all the drama surrounding the main characters love prevailed in the end. I cannot wait for Matthewson’s story because I know it will be just as great!
