Edginton sees part of the key to his success coming from good relationships with artists, especially D'Israeli and Steve Yeowell as well as Steve Pugh and Mike Collins. He is best known for his steampunk/alternative history work (often with the artist D'Israeli) and is the co-creator of Scarlet Traces, a sequel to their adaptation of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. With 2000 AD we has written Leviathan, Stickleback and, with art by Steve Yeowell, The Red Seas as well as one-off serials such as American Gothic (2005).
His stories often have a torturous gestation. Scarlet Traces was an idea he had when first reading The War of the Worlds, its first few instalments appeared on Cool Beans website, before being serialised in the Judge Dredd Megazine. Also The Red Seas was initially going to be drawn by Phil Winslade and be the final release by Epic but Winslade was still tied up with Goddess and when ideas for replacement artists were rejected Epic was finally wound up - the series only re-emerging when Edginton was pitching ideas to Matt Smith at the start of his 2000 AD career.
With D'Israeli he has created a number of new series including Stickleback, a tale of a strange villain in an alternative Victorian London, and Gothic, which he describes as "Mary Shelley's Doc Savage". With Simon Davis he recently worked on a survival horror series, Stone Island, and he has also produced a comic version of the computer game Hellgate: London with Steve Pugh.
He is currently working on a dinosaurs and cowboys story called Sixgun Logic. Also as part of Top Cow's Pilot Season he has written an Angelus one-shot.
to be honest, I remember NOTHINGS from Assassin's Creed storyline. the games themself were some of my all-time favourites games as a kid, I was in love with Ezio trilogy and Assassin's Creed Origins was my comfort from mean girls in school. then, 2 or three years later I figured out my childhood's myth has a book series, the assassin's creed book series and I remember camping in front of bookcity's door waiting for it to open, buying the book without even asking for the rest of my money or checking the price and rushing home to read it and feeling like a piece of shit for a whole week. ya, the book sucked the reflection comics where better, I really enjoyed seeing my childhood heroes again read it if you enjoyed assassin's creed games and if you remember the storyline:///////////
I looooove the way they, those people at Ubisoft, connect historical events to AC world!! Annd I missed Edward and his world after reading his chapter T_T
Assassin's Creed: Reflections marks the 10 year anniversary of the franchise with a four-issue comic series, each highlighting the protagonist from a numbered entry in the series. The issues are a bit hit or miss, but the highs are higher than the lows and this is an enjoyable comic for fans of the series.
The series is framed with a story of Templar Otso Berg investigating the memories of the Assassins to try and figure out what unknown moments in their histories made them special. Berg never particularly made an impact on me in the franchise as a whole, but his inclusion seems to make sense here.
The first issue follows Ezio from Assassin's Creed II as he meets a famous person from history. Unfortunately, as is sometimes the case in the games, this story feels like too much plot convenience and wish fulfillment. I've never been a huge fan of the "your character was just out of frame at the major historical event" side of Assassin's Creed, and this one goes too far in that direction.
Fortunately, the second issue focuses on a historical event that seems more up in the air. It tracks Altair from the first Assassin's Creed, along with his wife and son, as they travel far to the east to meet with the Mongols. Unlike the appearance of the historical figure in the first issue, the Mongols have been a piece of the Assassin's Creed lore for ages. That helps it feel less like a forced cameo and more like filling in a missing piece of the puzzle. It's nice to finally see some of it in print and get a greater understanding of what exactly happened with Genghis Khan.
The third and fourth issues feel a bit more like throwaways, following Edward from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Connor from Assassin's Creed III as they take their last voyage with Adewale and take their daughter on a hunt, respectively. Nothing mind-blowing in either of these, but seeing Edward being cunning and seeing Connor a bit more fleshed out (if still a bit wooden) is welcome.
The art throughout the series is phenomenal. It's got a bit of a cartoon look to it, with thicker black lines on borders, but it balances the look with the seriousness of the stories well. Characters are expressive, and it doesn't look overly gritty and dark (which is another direction they could have gone).
Finally, you get the usual bonus of a cover gallery (all the covers are great by the way, rather than the photoshopped promotional images you often get in tie-in comics) along with brief historical explanations of Altair and Connor's adventures and how those were decided upon and put together. It would have been cool to have little featurettes like those for the other two stories as well, but it's better than nothing.
Overall, Assassin's Creed: Reflections is much more than a cynical cash-grab celebration of the series' 10-year anniversary. It's a great excuse to spend time with the characters I've grown to love and appreciate, and Altair's story expands on and fills in gaps in the lore in a satisfying way. It's not perfect, but it's a great read for Assassin's Creed fans.
#cevizyorumluyor #assasinscreedgeçmişinyansımaları #assasinscreedreflections Geçen assasinscreed origins'i tanıtmıştım şimdi daha farklı bir dönemdeyiz. tapınak şövalyelerinin üstadı Otso Berg suikastçilerin elektronik hatıra verilerine giriyor. Amacı suikastçilerin hatıralarına bakıp onları anlayabilmek, bir şey bulabilmek. Hatıra içinde hatıralardayız yani önce Ezio'dan başlıyor, Ezio Leonardo da Vinci'yi hasta yatağında ziyaret ediyor ve ona Mona Lisa ile yaşadığı rastlaşmayı anlatıyor. Daha sonra Darim'in hatıralarına giriyor. Burada da Cengiz han suikastine gidiyoruz. Sonra Edward Kenway'in hatıralarına erişiliyor.
Juhani Otso Berg is looking for a way to unite the Templar Order by digging through Ezio, Altaïr, Darim, Edward and Ratonhnhaké:ton's memories. He is searching for what made them so extraordinarily strong, and what does he find? Love and family. That's it, that's the Great Secret. I'm glad to see my boys happy. Berg, though, is not amused.
From Assassin's Creed's perspective, this was incredibly, tooth-rottingly sweet and feel good, like one of those Doctor Who episodes where Love™ saves the day and we get all misty-eyed (don't deny it).
This review is getting very sappy, gee, what has Assassin's Creed done to me? Let's go back to stabbing people in the back and forget all about those... feelings.
I always like reading more stories about the older assassins like Altair and especially Ezio (he's my number 1 precious boy and I will probably never change that) so it was a nice touch to include short snippets of them as well as Connor and Edward Kenway (whose games I admit I haven't played but that's more me being lazy than uninterested in, at least Kenways).
1. Ezio's story. Short but holy gods above I loved it, I love any interaction between Ezio and Leonardo so seeing them right before Leonardo's real life death reminiscing about old times is a great story for me. If this was the only story I'd call it a 5 stars success and end it there, but the next one...
2. Altair's story. Kind of boring but to me that's Altair as usual, kind of boring when stacked up against future assassins. However, he's always going to hold a special place in my heart and his game was the one I spent probably the most replaying to death. It was an interesting story to see him still kicking ass even when old and gray but the plot and characters were kind of undeveloped unless you've played later games with his later life snippets.
3. Kenway's story. Holy shit I absolutely must play his game someday (I literally finished replaying Ezio's Brotherhood game so don't count on it though I'm really resistant to starting new games), the idea of pirates and assassins in the same room and then slowly combining one into both seems like a hell of a storyline. It was funny, sneaky, and a little crazy which screams Kenway from what I've read and watched. 5 stars as well for doing all that without a single drop of rum.
4. Connor's story. Oh Connor, you really got screwed in the series and I understand why. Here's an assassin who lived through the coolest time in U.S. history and yet he was the blandest character for me, he's older so he's not as whiny in his short story but I can tell he was a whiny shit in his game. It was a nice tie in with the Templar who was watching his memory but Connor will always be that character I just don't care about because his personality was so woe is me. His and Altair's stories were the only non-5 stars for me.
Overall, 2 of the stories were great little pieces of memory from some interesting assassins, one was just a continuation of Altair being his usual badass self, and one was Connor realizing one of his children will be a badass someday.

Loved it. Best Assassins Creed comic I've read in ages. After the disappointing Assassins Creed and Templar comics I've read recently I just hoped this wouldn't ruin my favourite Assassins. It didn't it gave them even more layers and makes you love them more.
I really liked the art work in this comic too which has been lacking in the others slightly. As with most Assassins Creed comics it ends with some historical accuracy and this is no different. Interesting enough the historical consultants get a mention at the start of the book among with the artist and writers. Which I've never noticed before and was a lovely touch.
Juhani Otso Berg is a templar with a personal mission. He is loyal the order, but performs his duties in an original fashion. He visits recordings of famous assassins Ezio, Altair, Edward Kenway and Connor to draw conclusions about the assassin order. It doesn't advance their story or reveal anything we didn't know from the story in the games, but it does make them more human. Ultimately these one-shots reveal to Otso why the assassins are so effective at thwarting the templars, even though they don't have the same power or influence. They value friendship and love, which gives them the motivation to go on.
Assassin's Creed: Reflections offers small new stories for the franchise's first four game protagonists. Sadly, they're not all equally as interesting. The highlight in this comic is the story featuring Altaïr, showing the culmination of his mission to Mongolia previously alluded to in Assassin's Creed II and most prominently in the novel The Secret Crusade. Ezio's story highlights a bittersweet chapter of his later life, and Connor's showcases a glimpse of the ending the tragic character so clearly deserved.
This was a compilation of stories about some of the most popular characters in the series, so they were just short vignettes. I enjoy this series because of the historical settings. This edition reflected research to provide accuracy in the portrayals of both the Mongolian and the Native American stories. This volume emphasizes family and friendship, which I enjoyed. And the cover art gallery is always nice
The comic consisted of short “reflections” of four of the main Assassins from the video game series, Ezio Auditore De Firenze, Altair Ibn-La’Ahad, Edward Kenway and Ratonhnhake:ton. While some of the characters were drawn disproportionately the stories were captivating in taking you through their lives beyond the video games and learning a deeper lesson through the ruminations of the Templar, Otso Berg.
