Rate this book
When Natalie discovers she’s been deceived by her fiancé, she retreats to the sprawling mansion on Nantucket, owned by her grandparents, Emmeline and Victor. Despite her grandmother’s warm welcome, Natalie finds that her childhood memories of a happy home are a thing of the past. All is not well between the long-married couple.

Needing time to heal from her broken heart, Natalie starts a dog-walking business, much to her mother’s displeasure. She is befriended by the local veterinarian, Jake, who is immediately captivated by the new girl in this small beach town. But just as the fledgling romance blossoms, Victor is rushed to hospital. When the police start questioning the entire family, including Jonas, Emmeline’s first love, Natalie fears something very troublesome is going on.

Who wants Victor out of the way, and why?

As Natalie and Jake dig deeper into her grandfather’s past, they unearth a web of deceit, lies, and unfulfilled lives. But the biggest secret of all is yet to be exposed. This devastating discovery will shake Natalie’s and Emmeline’s faith in marriage to the core. But could it also be the catalyst for much-needed change that will finally unite a fragmented family?

This beachside mystery romance brings together three generations in a heart-warming family drama which explores whether love, compassion and forgiveness can transcend the worst kind of betrayal. This is Book 1 of 6 in the Coming Home Series.

As book 1 begins, we meet Annie’s twenty-five year old daughter, Natalie. As expected, life changes from one generation onto another. However, the topics of discontent between the generations remain the same: arranged marriages, hierarchy, true love, heartache, and deeply hidden family secrets. Natalie becomes the last in a long line to fight for her own freedoms to make her own life decisions. Will she win that right? Will she take a chance on love? Will her parents force her to follow their path? How do her grandparents fit into the mix?

I’ve been reading Annie’s series for quite some time. Each series varies significantly from the others, but each series has always stolen my heart. Annie is a very talented author. I’ve watched her writing grow by leap and bounds with each new series.

I cannot wait to see how this series continues to develop.

I received this advanced reader’s copy for free from Author Annie Diamond. This is a voluntary review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.

Grab the free prequel to this book; it's not necessary but it provides a wonderful backdrop to the undercurrents that take place in book 1. Annie Diamond delivers again in this new series. She has a gift for writing that captures the complexity of life and the multiple stories within a story, making it all flow seamlessly together.

I read the prequel and was anxiously awaiting the first book in the series and it was worth the wait. This expertly crafted story crosses three generations and has me hooked.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review without any influence from the author.

Natalie had been in Spain where she got her heart broken. She went to stay with her grandparents. She met Joel one day when she took her Grandma's dog to the vet. The first book in Annie Diamond's new series. Natalie learns about her grandparents marriage and becomes friends with Joel. Looks like this is gonna be another great series. Can't wait to see what happens next.

What a fantastic start to a new series. Nice clean mystery and romance. This book captured my heart from the beginning and cannot wait for the next part. Nice easy quick read, and although short gives a lot of substance and nicely sets up the premise for the next part. Loving it so far!

I stumbled upon this book & though it's fast reading, I did get attached to the characters. Certainly points out that families have many secrets and I will, most likely, continue the series as I am anxious to delve into the history of this family. No one is immune! Families are complicated!
