Destination Love #3

Destination: Edinburgh

Rate this book
When Ava arrives in Edinburgh ready to start her master’s degree program, she intends to take a few weeks and enjoy the city she has dreamed of visiting since she was a child.

Ava plans to keep her head down and focus on her studies as soon as classes start, not wanting to waste the incredible opportunity she’s been given. A chance to attend the University of Edinburgh, one of the most prestigious art history programs in the world. Or at least that was the plan until she sat next to a handsome stranger willing to do anything to get her attention.

Knowing no one in the city makes it impossible to find the hidden gems in the city, but Ava’s in luck. Her handsome seat buddy, Callen Mackenzie, is also a travel agent. Although she doesn’t have time for anything besides studying, a tour guide doesn’t sound like a bad idea.

Ava has no intention of seeing Callen again after he gives her a tour of his beloved city, however he has other plans. He wants to teach Ava there’s more to life than test scores and schedules, but she ends up teaching him that there’s one thing he can’t live without - her.

USA Today Bestselling Author AJ Alexander has been writing romance since 2018. She loves writing small town romances with found families and all the nosey nellies that help her characters find their happily ever afters! She lives in Arizona, otherwise known as the surface of the sun, with her husband, two daughters, two cats, and a lovable golden retriever.

When she isn't writing you can find AJ reading, binging the latest true crime documentary on Netflix, or binging the latest Korean Drama or Anime that's released. AJ is a cynical hopeless romantic that believes in love at first sight, that bigger is always better, and everything should be put off for a nap.

Come find her in the wild! There's nothing she loves more than connecting with my readers.

Ava and Callen meet on a plane about to land in Edinburgh. Callen is from there and Ava is there for school. The moment they meet on the plane there is a connection between them and Callen isn’t about to let her go.

There is instant chemistry between Callan and Ava. I loved the passion that these two had. They also have both lost people they have loved in their lives and I felt like that gave them a deeper bond with each other. Plus, the lengths Callan is willing to go for a grand gesture was sweet.

I love this series and Ava and her group of friends. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Maya!

If you’re looking for an insta love, age gap this is one to read.

Destination Edinburgh for Ava.

I absolutely love reading a series around a family or a group of friends, and in this case these young ladies with nothing in common, met at college when they’re grouped together during a housing lottery. The friends are Ava, Rory, Charlotte and Maya. We met Rory Author AJ Alexander’s book MY LUCKY CHARM in the Get Lucky Multi Author Series. Charlotte has flown to Paris in the previous book and now it is Ava’s turn.

Ava is a quiet and nerdy homebody. Having lost her parents at 12, she’s not a risk taker but a goal maker, and love doesn’t feature in her plans for her to achieve the dream job her mother missed out on. Maya is the most adventurous of the friends and challenges them to pick a place to go after college. Ava hates flying but she applied to the master's degree program in Edinburg, Scotland and we meet her on her flight over. She’s freaking out as the plane starts to descend into Edinburgh and when a deep voice and blue eyes offers to hold her hand, she sees the gorgeous man sitting next to her that she’d completely ignored for the seven hour trip opting instead to be distracted by an older lady discussing her cats.

Callen Mackenzie is completely taken with Ava, something she’s not used to so I loved that she endeavoured to channel the personality of the more adventurous Maya all while being under his intense scrutiny. Something I also appreciated with this book is that Ms Alexander also slowed the hot attraction and insta-love pace just a tad meaning that DESTINATION EDINBURGH was for me, the book I’ve enjoyed most of this group of friends.

Is it wrong that while reading Callen’s POV I completely heard his Scottish accent?? He was a beautiful man, and I love that accent, so I’m easily saying that Callen is up there as one of my favourite AJ Alexander heroes and I can see why Ava would fall almost instantly in love with him.

Again like her friends, Ava’s book is a May-December romance if that is something that you as a reader would enjoy, because I certainly did. 4.5 Stars 🖤✫*

This is the second book in this series revolving around a group of girls that are friends. This is a good instalove story that is a quick read. Ava has her life mapped out. She is going through a master’s program then going back to the United States to fulfill her life goal. But before she even lands in Edinburgh, she meets Callen, who takes her breath away. He pursues her relentlessly while she fights herself over everything she thinks she has wanted, and what she wants now. I do recommend this story.

As a fan of quick reads where we see a connected series, encouragement comes from best friends. This is a great series. I love the insta connection of the characters and both parties working to do everything they can to get back to each other. Who knew the person you were supposed to be with was next to you, and you didn’t know it. Alright, AJ three down and one more to go. I need to know what happens.

This was sweet and was glad to see Ava let down her guard and do something for herself. Even though the story is short it does have a really good message of putting our own passions and happiness first and not living for others. Other than not explaining why Callen didn’t take Ava to where she wanted the story is great and left me with a big smile.

Another installment in the Destination Love series. This insta-love, insta- lust couple meet on a plane from NYC to Edinburgh. Calle. Is returning to his home after delivering a boat to his best friend and Ava is headed to Edinburgh for a learning semester.

There’s sexual attraction right from the time Ava finally notices Callen, which is right before they land. When Ava’s fear emerges, Callen holds her hand to calm her. The attraction blossoms from there, with Callen knowing this is the woman he wants to spend his life with and build a family.
