4.75! We love toxic men
I can’t tell you how much this phrase when reading about H’s makes me so happy.
He’s very toxic and a very subtle way. He’s sneakily toxic and is very persistent. And that’s what I really liked about him. Jason knows what he wants and even though she kept saying no, he saw pass the façade.
He also understood the insecurities that she was having from my previous relationship, and how she was making him have insecurities as well, but still willing to push because he knew that they should be together.
I also liked how she was fairy backboned a lot of the times when it came to things that normally she wouldn’t especially when she had her past from her husband. The therapy helped her be more confident with herself, and finally understand and see her self in a different light.
I also loved the consequences that the people who hurt her in her life we’re adults, because when she gave us fat little bit in the end about all she knew when she was married, I was like I would have torn her up. She is a better sister than me once all that came out.
I really want to get all of the authors books I’ve read in physical form because it’s so good. I really can’t wait to have them in physical if they ever become a physical.

Ohh the games we play when it comes to love and nobody is safe. Sadly some get in over their heads and end up getting hurt worse then they planned on inflicting😣💔.
Getting out of the nightmarish marriage with Malcom was a matter of life and death for Tempest😩. Her sisters help was a welcome until she was seen as a threat. Julissa was not all there in the head thinking her life was all set with Jason😳. The attraction between Jason and Tempest was hot. I liked that there was a age gap with Tempest being the older woman. He may have been younger but Jason took charge as a man and provided for Tempest in all the ways her ex didn’t in every way possible👍🏽. Their sexual rendezvous were hot & steamy🔥🥵😈. Malcom and Julissia got exactly what they deserved for all the pain they made Tempest endure. The betrayal was hard to deal with but Tempest definitley had the last laugh😝.
I enjoyed the story as I do all the books I’ve read by Ms. Davis. This one however had a lot of typo’s that tripped the flow of my reading. It’s not has dark as some of her other works but still good👍🏽.

I always love shantels stories
I hate that it ended, it was so good I loved Jason even the whole birth control thing I loved him till his dumb ass let the sis video them, like how u love one sis but do dum ish like that knowing it could come back to bite you.. I was waiting for tempest to start beating a** and cussing ppl out every woman has a breaking point. Her sis was delusional and trash she should have beat her sense less along time ago.. As for her ex and sis they got what they deserve but I always feel like for people like them more violence is needed, I feel like Jason got off easy in the end for not telling tempest about hi! And his sis he could sleep with other women their weren't together but the sis situation he needed a reality check.. Shantel always writes the best stories with the best sex scenes from the plot to the dialogue and nasty talk she hits all.the right spots.. She also writes the best characters 10/10 will always read a story from.her and recommend

This was ok. The author says it's not a love story but honestly it felt like one with just a lot of drama. I wasn't sure how I felt about our MCs at first because in any other book they would be wrong, but that sister was a trip. While our h is older than the H, it's not by that much. She is definitely more experienced when it comes to life and she should be more mature, but when she interacts with the H, you would think he's older (not necessarily a bad thing). My only issue is she's not that old! She's 26-27 and he's 22, while they've lived different lives I hate when books act like a woman in her late 20s-30s is old! I'm sure when I was younger it felt old but now I roll my eyes as haha.
Overall not a bad, quick read to pass the time.

I have not yet read a book by Ms. Shantel Davis that I have not thoroughly enjoyed! Always a little dark (sometimes a lot dark), always extremely sexy, what's not to love!

Whew Shantel! Your stories always bring the crazy, the drama and all things unexpected! This one was just that, and did not disappoint! I felt horrible for Tempest, as she endured such brutal treatment from her husband! It was heartbreaking that she put herself in that position, to assist her sister, who in turn was an ungrateful bih! When Tempest was plotting her revenge, I thought this will not end well! But, I was certainly not ready for the turn of events that were to come! Jason was a man on a mission! After learning Jason's backstory, his issues and the lengths that he would go to get Tempest, I was stunned! Tempest had no idea the ish storm she started, and had no way to stop this fast moving train called Jason! After all was said and done, I could not believe what Tempest revealed at the end! Like what you just say??? She really was on some get back with Julissa big time! Jason and Tempest, matched each other's crazy! I guess I'm right there with them, as I enjoyed it all! 😂

Ohhhhhhh! I love Ms. Davis’ books. They are always so much fun and like Tempest said about Jason “belligerently nasty” . I measure all of her books by Demarco, my all time favorite, and while Jason was younger he came close to being the Demarco level of funny/crazy/obsessive. Tempest was a strong character but too nice for her own good. Jason pretended to like Tempest’s sister in order to get close to Tempest. However, his past almost got in the way. As always we got some twists I didn’t see coming! The book had some minor typos that in no one distracted from my enjoyment…..I even have come to expect them😍

It could have been better
The errors in this story disrupted the flow. Tempest had a hard life, from having to raise her little sister to her abusive marriage to an older man. Finally, breaking away from all that and making a fresh start. She finds herself with another issue when she attempts to be petty, only for it to backfire on her. Jason has wanted Tempest from the moment he saw her, and now that he's found his way in his not letting her go.

I liked this one.
After learning all her sister did in the past and how frivolous she was with money, I don’t understand why she gave her sister 15k. How was the sister an accessory to murder? Maybe I missed it. I’ll prob reread this one now that I know more about Jason, to get the full picture.
I liked Jason. I wish he didn’t have to pretend to only come around for her sister to get with her but it made the story forbidden so I liked it. And if he could cook and had money, why was he always eating her food? lol he should’ve been bringing them food. And if she didn’t decide to tease him, was he ever gonna say something? Idk, I needed more of this story. On to the next book!

Wife beater?
I like the story. I liked the characters. I gave it one star because of the word "wife beater". The mfc was beaten on the page. She was a victim of domestic violence. The author described her beating in graphic detail. I am very offended by the word " wife beater. It's not a shirt. A wife beater is man ,a woman or person who physically beats their wife. I don't understand how female authors who claim to be pro woman and the sisterhood continue to use that phrase. The author used it three times. I took one star away for each usage. How is that phrase not in the trigger warning.

This was a hard read
The book was well written, and I understand it was a "dark novel" but there was just too much trauma in this book for me. I did not like Jason at all. He was manipulative and conniving in almost everything he did. But at the same time, Tempest was weak and had no spine. She let Julissa, Malcolm and Jason run her and I hate reading about weak women. I'm sure this is someone's jam, because forbidden love normally IS mine, but this one left me feeling all out of sorts. Even with the ending being what it was.

Please get an editor or proofreader. Spelling and grammatical errors are rampant in the book causing it to be difficult to read. The storyline had potential but I was troubled by a couple of points. First, for a woman who experienced physical abuse to the degree Tempest did, it is hard to believe Jason's aggressiveness didn't trigger major anxiety for her. Also, there seemed to be some gaps in the story. I know it is a novella but there seemed to be a couple of big leaps presented in the epilogue.

I don’t know where to start. Jason and Tempest were two peas in a pod! I hope all that Jason did was talked about. I was waiting for it to get worse!
Tempest changed from the woman she was in the beginning to the woman she was by the end. However, some of her behaviors didn't sit right in my spirit. If she knew what Jason was doing, why not confront him? Why go along?
Oh and the last conversation she had with her sister, Girl those things are recorded.. be mindful.
Once, I started reading, I didn’t want to stop.

It took me a while to read this taboo romance. It was difficult to wrap my head around the cheating aspect. However, all is not as it seems. There are nuggets of information that will shock you. I was hooked from the first scene.
In essence the story is about two broken individuals finding their HEA in each other after swimming through a sea of bullshit.
The storyline was fascinating and well thought out, however it was rampant with editing errors.

Lol...that was a crazy ride
I loved this story and this author. This isn't my first book by her and won't be my last. Let me first say I cringed at the abuse but Tempest was strong, stronger than we knew up until the end. I freaking loved he did a few wrong things all for the right reason..his love of tempest. I have never cheered violence so hard in a book when Tempest clocked julissa. Good times. Oh the sex was ...whew..

This author is literally probably the only author where I'm not disgusted with her darker alpha male leads. This story had me invested from beginning to end. I would of given this five stars however, the large amount of grammatical errors was off putting. Poor Tempest though she was running game on Jason whole time brother was running the show. Julissa, Tempest sister got what was coming to her.

Tempest brought her ‘A’ game
Tempest proved she had what it takes to win these Wicked Games others played with her life. Tempest’s ex-husband and sister were out to destroy her life thinking she was none the wiser but they both ended up where they deserve. With a sister like Julissa who needs enemies.

Really enjoyed!
Ms. Davis said this is not a love book, but I think she is wrong! I read love from the very beginning with Jason and Tempest! He made his feelings known, and she low-key loved him too! I really enjoyed reading about them and her sister and ex both got what they deserved! A happy ending for them indeed!

Winner takes all
Ms Davis came through with another cracking novella. Jason and Tempest were amazing and Julissa got her just desserts. She was an awful human being. Love, obsession, greed and so much more was packed into this story. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend, typos not withstanding. Can't wait for the next outing from Ms Davis.

Wicked Games Indeed..
As Seth did in The Maid, Tempest played the long game masterfully and got the love, loyalty and respect ( for the most part) she deserved in the slightly twisted, obsessed and determined Jason. This is a good and fast read that I recommend
The four stars are due to editing issues that annoying but not overly distracting.

Abuse to freedom
Tempest went through hell with her husband and was finally able to break away! She dealt with a self serving, spoiled sister who never appreciated all her big sister did for her! When tempest needed her she mean and indifferent! Tempest met her so called boyfriend and sparks starting to fly! Would he be her night in shinning armor! A great read!

5 stars!!!!! I love this book. Jason is a straight nut! He did things that surprised me. This book is Not for slow burn. There are a lot of triggers. I’m glad Tempest is a fighter. Julissa is a piece of work. Malcolm Tempest ex-husband used to beat on her and tried to kill her. Until she was able to get away. Jason fought hard to have Tempest give him a chance.

Great book!
This was a great book, and the characters were very entertaining. The chemistry between Tempest and Jason was smoking hot 🔥. The drama was off the charts and kept you wanting more and more. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this and wish that it was a full length standalone. The whole Julissa situation could've been done better, like if you knew the whole time why you move in why you feel bad. I loved Jason's needy behind.
