Synopsis
Growing up In the trenches as a child with a mother who had abandoned him, General Young had to manage his life on the streets. Young has a penchant for hustling rather than music, and when opportunities emerge, he is encouraged to pursue his passion, which is rapping, but he's at a crossroads in his life.
The only thing Britain Banks could wish for was to make it out of the hood. Raised by a violent stepfather and a weak mother, Britain fantasizes about a brighter future. When Britain meets Money, she believes he is her knight in shining armor, but he is actually the devil disguised.
Secret Harold is only interested in the finer things in life, and she is determined to make it out of the ghetto without being stopped. Secret is willing to let go of anything and everyone in order to achieve her goals, even if it means giving up the person that she loves the most. Secret goes through a sequence of circumstances that leads her to realize that the one thing she really wants is love and not material possessions.
Kodi Victor meets the girl who he finally feels like he can open up to, but he isn't sure how to interpret it. If he continues to prioritize the streets over everything else in his life, Kodi may miss out on his one shot at true love.

Just Want To Be Loved!!
Britain got a raw deal, she was sexual abused by Damon and he was kicking on her mama's a** to be worried about Britain. Kodi had a lot of reach in jail. Millie warned Britain not to mess with Money, but she learned the hard way. She ran that package for him and gave it to Kodi they kept in touch since. Ice is an a** going have Young avenge his daughter murder not telling him the truck was stolen. Sucka a**. Kenndi made a name for herself but not in A good way. She was always jealous of Secret. That's why she lied on Young she thought she was about to get paid. Young made a way out of no way.Plus he had two kids with one way. Kodi fits right in with Beast. Britain held firm on making Kodi come to her. Young is the love of his life.

Rise to Fame
So at the beginning I thought man these alot of characters to keep up with but once I started connecting everything and everyone it wasn't so bad. The back story really helped, it was short but just enough to make you be like I get it. I think Young, Kodi and Britian were my favorites. Secret needed some growing up to do but I must admit she really did. I like Britian because she like Young home life wasn't all that but they knew the survival. Kodi is definitely crazy and I can see him acting up over Brit and Young. I need just a little more on Gemma cause I am definitely side eyeing her. Really great read!!!

great book
This book was too good. Young had so many people walk out on him throughout his entire life, but he still made a way! Secret had her ways but I can tell that she truly loved Young. The saying what’s meant to be will be definitely showed in this book!! These characters were everything. You most definitely seen how far some would go for money and how loyalty isn’t always there from the ones you expected it from. Definitely a must read!!

Liked it
Even though Secret got on my nerves I think this was a good book. I just don't feel like Secret deserved General yet he just kept accepting her back every time smh. But I'm glad he got his Rise to Fame, and made something off himself. That situation with him and Kodi now that was something I didn't see coming.

I rated this book 5 STARS because it wasn't your typical dope boy get rich book the author gave a detailed glimpse into the lives of each character and that brought the characters to life the story line itself was actually really good I'm A fan of this author so I knew she was gone bring it and that she did G.O.O.D J.O.B

Yesssss!! I love this story!! Being from Chicago, I felt the words and can visualize each character. I know that corner, I know these characters..book felt real. Can't wait for part 2.

Enjoyed
I want more from the couples, I especially want to see Kodi& Britain! I enjoyed young and his siblings, Ginger is a bit much but all of the sisters loved their brother Young! Family over everything! I want more of Secret & Young too, Kennedi was never a friend to Secret!

I am so happy for Young. He went through so much but now he is at the top. I am also happy for Britain. She finally got Kodi to be with her. I just love happy endings. I would love to read more about them. Great Read!
