You know how sometimes you end up at a party and two people start telling you their "hilarious" family stories? This is a lot like that. I feel bad giving it two stars, but I really did make myself finish the book for the sake of reviewing it fairly. Some of Chad and Courtney's texts were funny, but I don't know that they're book-worthy funny. And the background stories back and forth by the two droned on, though I know it was needed to explain all the in-jokes.

I wouldn't mind hearing a few of these stories at a dinner party but I'm not sure anyone outside of friends and family of the authors would find them as funny as they seem to find themselves. Also, heads up if you're the type to mind, there's a lot of inappropriate content, cussing and dark humor.

Two stars for "okay" for me. Your mileage may vary.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Some of the text exchanges between Chad and Courtney were hilarious and cringe-worthy. We have all been there where we wish we had not sent certain texts without thinking. However, to someone other than these siblings, some of these jokes and inappropriate banter did not make much sense. I have an older brother and appreciate the bond these siblings felt for each other.

Other than my stated opinions, this humor book was kind of lackluster and mediocre even though I did have some laughs. I found myself skimming most of this. Recommended if you just want a few laughs. Just remember you won't learn anything from this or finish this with a great lesson. It just kind of ends.

Thanks to Netgalley, Chad and Courtney Coffey for an ARC for their self-published book in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, Post Traumatic Texts is not funny…at all. It should be pitched as a memoir of unmemorable events. However, kudos to the authors for writing a book. That’s more than I have done. 2 stars.

Thanks to the authors and NetGalley for a digital review copy of the book.

I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I think I expected too much from this book going into it. I skim read this book because I just wasn’t as interested in it as I thought I would be. Some of the texts and phone calls were funny and some were clearly only funny to the authors. I myself have a brother that I have a close relationship with and share a sense of humor with so I understand that some stuff that seems hilarious to us other people would just not get it. I appreciate the effort the authors made to give some context but some jokes/situations just aren’t funny from an outside perspective. I think that this book was OK. It was nice to see the sibling affection through inappropriate humor and the affection between them was clear however inappropriate the messages may seem.

I loved this book so much! I thought it was so cool that a sister and brother wrote the book. I don't think I've ever read a book written by siblings, so this was a pleasant surprise.

This book was absolutely hilarious. Every single chapter was entertaining. I thought it was so cool that Courtney and Chad are so different but get along so well, especially since Courtney is a liberal and Chad is a conservative. It was nice to see that they were incredibly close and didn't let their differences get between their relationship.

I loved that they included texts they sent to each other and other family members. I loved that they included their point of view on events that happened in their lives. They shared jokes, insults, stories, etc., that were funny.

*Thank you Netgalley for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review.*

Thank you to NetGalley for sharing this free ePub with me in exchange for my honest feedback!

This book was such a fun read and it had me laughing during every chapter. Their sense of humor probably isn’t for everyone, but I thought it was hysterical. I would love to meet them in real life and have them insult me 🤣😂

I also love that this was written by siblings and made me think of sitting around the kitchen table telling stories and cutting up with my family. You can tell that this brother and sister have a really close relationship and that they really enjoyed writing this book together.

Would definitely recommend to a friend. Thanks again, NetGalley!

This book was ok, however just completely obvious and predictable in what was going to happen from the beginning. There was a lot of repetitiveness and as opposed to creating a moment, it was more telecast stating "this person did this, or felt like this," This is a pet peeve of mine. The actions need to be written in a way that it is understood what is occurring and what feelings are brought about. I think this was definitely a good palate cleansing book and I thought that it was definitely a cozy read. Thanks for the ARC. NetGalley.

This book was hilarious in parts! It also managed to annoy me a bit, but that’s because the brother actually liked Trump. It’s a nice, quick read and is guaranteed to make you laugh!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy. This review contains my honest, unbiased opinion.

Thank you, NetGalley for providing me with this ARC for an honest review.

This book was a DNF for me. I felt like the characters/authors were not relatable and insensitive.

There were one or two instances that I laughed out loud but apart from them, it was dull. Won't recommend it.
