I was provided with an ARC by the author. I really liked the first book in the series, “They Stay,” and this one continues the spooky fun with the same group of characters. It does touch on some sensitive subjects like abuse, so be forewarned, but it never feels exploitative. You will want to read “They Stay” before reading this since it introduces the characters and world. You can pick it up for free right now.

They Whisper is the sequel to They Stay, and once again, it follows the chaotic adventure that our 4 protagonists courageously embark on in order to locate a murderer. This sequel was pretty extraordinary, and to be completely honest-- there were moments that sent chills and shivers through me-- We also got to experience a lot of character growth from our protagonists Shiloh, Francesca, Jonah and Miles, and i personally enjoyed this aspect since it added dynamic to the story and plot lines. Another factor that I can't stress enough is the beautiful writing style that Fraise has to offer, i for one am in awe with it :) The pacing and progress of events were also pretty good, but that ending thoughh-- i swear fraise's cliffhangers will be the end of me someday smh. But overall, i pretty much enjoyed this book and I was also really impressed with all the improvements in the book structure compared to They Stay.

Can’t get enough of this story, when I read 'They Stay'-The first book in the five-book series. I was a little apprehensive since the genre of supernatural thriller/ mystery is not for me. But after reading the first book and now the second book, I’m definitely going to give this genre a try. Claire Fraise did a number with this story, I’m so happy how this story has turned out. 'They Whisper' is even better than They Stay. I loved how the characters have grown in their own struggles and in the mystery they are set on solving, as many lives depend on that. The story starts where it left off in book one and where it breaks your heart but gradually as it progresses many good things happen and that makes it worthwhile. There is a lot of action, Leonard is the ghost villain and is the reason for all the action. Fighting in mind, soul and body takes a lot for the characters here. The suspense gets solved a little but leaves a lot of unanswered questions too which I’m guessing will be answered in the third book. I’m never good with cliffhangers but this one has a good one and a sad one, hope it gets better in the next book.

I loved book one, so it amazes me that book two is even better! It leaves off on a bit of a cliffhanger and I’m freaking out and wanting book three NOW!

This is such an amazing series! It’s YA Paranormal Romance/Unlikely Friendships/Suspense/Necromancy/Ghosts and so much more!!

The writing is fantastic. Characters are freaking awesome, there’s the foster boy, abused girl, nerd boy and freaky paranormal girl who sees and talks to ghosts (and much more). The growth in these characters is so realistic. The plot flows beautifully and the pace keeps you turning those pages.

I HIGHLY recommend this series, if everything I said above sounds good to you. I’m freaking ecstatic about this series and feel like making all my friends read the book. Haha 😆

Awesome sequel

After reading They Stay, I couldn't help diving right into this one and I was not disappointed. I can't wait to see how Shiloh, Francesca, Miles, and Jonah's adventure continues in the next book and to find out what other plans Leonard has in store.

Thank you to Claire Fraise for sending me an ARC of her new book, They Whisper, the second in her They Stay series!

They Whisper picks up where They Stay left off. Shiloh’s brother, Max, has been found, and Miles, who was shot during the search, is fine and recovering in his room. But things aren’t as settled and finished as Shiloh and her friends believe. Leonard is still out there, surviving after he stole Miles’ body. Now Miles must be put back into his body and Leonard must be found and killed once and for all. As the story progresses, we see that Francesca is discovering new abilities she never had, and Shiloh and Jonah are growing closer than ever. Will they be able to stop Leonard in time, or will Shiloh find herself behind bars for his murder?

I really loved this second installment! There was so much more information about the ghosts, the other side, and Francesca’s powers. There was also more gore and violence, so I appreciate that! It feels like they’ve grown so much due to their experiences, and that showed in the writing. Of course, we get another cliffhanger by the end, and I am so excited to read the next one, coming Spring 2023!

They Whisper is available now wherever books are sold! Grab your copy today!

They whisper by @clairefraiseauthor
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

First there was they stay , then there was they whisper. This book was just as gripping as the first . They whisper carries on beautifully connecting to they stay . Set directly after the events in they stay . And again. I am blown away by how addicting YA is . For someone who doesn't typically read this genre I KNEW I had to get the second installment...
I enjoyed the character building very much in this book . I knew the characters from the first ; but this some how built my connection to each a little more .
They whisper, just like they stay has content warnings - violence, PTSD, drug addiction, kidnapping and mild adult language. .

Claire also brought Kaylee back and again , I was so excited to see my name - not MY name. But my name in a book . I was so happy she brought her back. Even if it was for a short period.

If you loved #theystay you will love #theywhisper

And all the wonderful things to say - there will be a 3rd ! I cannot wait to finish the story in its entirety!

This book was sent to me by the Author in exchange for an honest review

Happy publication day! The gang is all back for book two in the 'They Stay' series. "They Whisper" is jam packed with TONS of non-stop thrilling action and jaw dropping drama. The story picks up right where "They Stay" left off and is action packed right from chapter one. The story centered mostly around Shiloh, Francesca, Jonah, and Miles as they take it upon themselves to go after a supernatural villain and save their friend and other kids in their town.

All the supernatural elements were amazingly well explained and thought out to the point where I felt like I became an expert on ghosts and the other side. Jonah became more of a leading man in this story and I can't wait to see where book three takes his character. Be sure to check out the trigger warnings before picking up this book, the characters suffer from a lot of injuries that are mildly graphic in description.

I was thrilled to receive an ARC from Claire in exchange for an honest review and after a cliffhanger of an ending, I couldn't be more excited to see where the gang ends up in her next book! Definitely be sure to check out this book and her first book "They Stay!"

It’s so difficult to write this review without giving away major spoiler alerts.

Soooooo…. I will say that I loved the ‘friend group’ characters from Book 1 that returned in Book 2. Each of them so clearly defined on paper that I expect to see them walking around my town.

The crazy ride of Book 1 continues on in ‘They Whisper’ with a couple of exciting twists along the way. This YA paranormal action packed Thriller is just that- action packed!

Book 2 ends on a cliff-hanger just as Book 1 did. Just fabulous! Can’t wait for Book 3 to drop!

I received an ARC of They Whisper but it in no way influences my review.

They Whisper is honestly a really solid book. It does everything right and improved on everything from They Stay. I can't think of anything I can blatantly say I didn't like cause I liked everything from the characters, to the backstories, to the pacing and tension.

I highly recommend this series to anyone out there that likes spooky ghost series and great characters.

Picks up right where book one left off and does not disappoint. Max is safe but miles is dead? and Leonard is not done yet. The stakes are higher than ever. This was a rollercoaster. So many thrilling twist and turns and an ending that leaves you begging for book three. Loved seeing the characters develop and their relationships with each other grow and I can’t wait to read what happens next!

Before I begin my review as a disclaimer I wanted to state I received a copy of the Arc for they whisper from the author but that my review is not influenced by this. Let us say that this 2nd book in the series did not disappoint in terms of what occurred within the pages of this adventure with the dead. You can almost view book one as an introduction to the characters while book two is when we do a deep dive into the development of these characters in terms of their personalities, flaws, motives, and abilities, yes abilities of a ragtag team of detectives. The adventure picks up literally where it left off and from page one to the end you will get a lot of twists and turns and omg moments in the telling of this story. Let’s image a roller coaster of emotion and take all the characters and put them all on different rides going at different speeds and heights, the omg moments appear in almost every chapter with moments of dread mixed in with shattered happiness for the small things in life vs mild moments of short-lived happiness and OMG crashing into those moments. Every character will experience the omg moments more than once or twice and is not in a good way, it kept me checking to see that I made sure to read all the lines leading to those moments.
I was happy to see the overall character development of Jonah and Francesca, In this book, they had more personality than in the first book I feel in book one the author was still getting to know them in her writing, and now she knew them better in this book. I hope to see the further character development of these two, especially Francesca because I feel that even though she is the one with the ability to see ghosts and to save people I feel her character development is far slower than the various love interest in this book and the explanation of her abilities were somewhat glossed over to keep Shiloh development moving forward. She feels at times as if she is a random friend A and only slightly remembered when she is needed for something than she is Francesca but I feel the author is doing her best to develop all the characters and most likely has a plan to flush out Francesca more and bring her to the forefront because right now random friend A sticks in my head while Jonah was developed from mob character to actually becoming a great male lead in this book. I liked how she pushed the development of miles further but knew when to put him in the background, I feel as if miles was developed to be a love interest before she got to know Jonah as a character when writing this series, I like how it was developing in this book.  When it came to our villain the whole thing that occurred in the book no spoilers you will enjoy and at times be like did I just read that, this is one of that continuous omg what will happen next sprinkled every other chapter, always checking shadows for Leonard. As a character and villain, she developed him further and gave the guy further personality and back story, and made him a good boogie man to carry her series to book five.
When it comes to our heroine Shiloh, she is being built as the not-so-normal lead character with many personality flaws due to various things that have occurred no spoiler lots of PTSD and emotional issues as you know from the previous book. In this book, I felt as if the author was attempting to make her more developed as a person but then it would get muddied with having her go into typical teen girl mode which felt at times forced or a better statement, some scenes we didn’t really need in terms of her teen girl side. Random example let's have her feel guilty and think she love miles but then omg Jonah and within the same breath PTSD about killing Leonard and then oh we have Francesca in the group, maybe I should talk to her on occasion. I felt somewhat like we need a direction in terms of her personality traits and her emotions were all over the place.
I feel Francesca could be killed and she wouldn’t flinch about the girl’s death but be more concerned with who we will get to replace her as the ghost person and if miles still liked her lol. But I feel the author may have a plan or at least I hope to flush or develop a better relationship between the two. I would love a focus more on her and Francesca rather than omg I think I love him but I am confused about the other guy, I feel this series needs a pure focus on the teens development as they are maturing into adults and focus more on the paranormal side and do a major deeper dive on how and what is occurring and so forth is this world, we got villains, yes plural I will let you try to figure it out and we got great character and story development of said villain and the plot pacing was steady, image rollercoaster.
Even if some parts felt unnecessary I feel those exist for a reason and will be tied up or developed in further volumes. You will not be disappointed in this read I had fun reading the book and loved the story you will feel you got your money’s worth and the ending will leave you wanting more I would love to see some novellas sprinkled in between the volumes while we are waiting it would allow the author to develop characters further and assist in the narrative between books without having to cram so much into the main continuity of the volumes, the whole flushing out plus as fans, it gives us more stuff to read, guilty sin – hates waiting to see what happens next. Sorry for the long review please enjoy the book and the ending will leave you saying OMG

Last fall, I reviewed a book called "They Stay" which was the first book in a series. I am so happy to announce that the sequel, "They Whisper" is out NOW!!
You can purchase a copy of "They Whisper" on Amazon or can find it for free on Kindle Unlimited.
We support authors on this blog---especially indie authors! You can follow the author, Claire Fraise, on Instagram, Goodreads. You can also find her YouTube channel here. She makes videos which detail her writing process, the book publishing process, and she gives helpful tips about how to improve your writing!

Thank you to Claire for sending me an Advanced copy in exchange for this honest review! As always, all thoughts expressed here are my own.

She used the otherworld to do what she had to do. Now this high-school hero has another chance to save the day… or watch her loved ones perish.
Shiloh Oleson is still picking up the pieces. After using lethal force to dispatch a supernatural foe, the teen is plagued by nightmares and confusing feelings. And now she’s horrified to learn the police want her for murder.
Buried under a mountain of post-traumatic stress and puzzling clues, Shiloh and her buddies sidestep the cops while hunting for the truth. And she discovers that not only has an old nemesis returned to haunt their town, but he has a catastrophic new plan to unleash terror…
Can this teenage ghost hunter stop a horrifying invasion before it destroys everyone she loves?

I gave this book 4.5 stars on Goodreads. Sequels can be hit or miss but I truly think this was a phenomenal sequel. It picks up right where the first book left off and is surely did not disappoint me! If there is one thing that I know about a Claire Fraise book now, its that I am going to be enthralled from the start. She just knows how to hook me and maintain my interest.
The characters continue to be written in such a way that makes me emotionally invested in them and their wellbeing. I feel a connection with most of them. I love Jonah and Miles and Shiloh and... pretty much all of them!
The way that this series has progressed, I have one word---flawlessly. I am so impressed with the character development and the way that the story has fleshed out. It has been a while since I have truly enjoyed a series like this. In a way, it has renewed my enjoyment of the young adult genre.
Overall, I would recommend to readers age 13/14+. Claire does provide some content warnings which include: Contains violence, PTSD, depictions of drug addiction, kidnapping, and mental abuse. If you find any of the above listed content to be triggering or just don't think that this is "your thing", I would suggest that you skip on this book. As the reader, you know what kind of topics you can handle and enjoy. Readers discretion is always advised.

There is going to be a 3rd installment that is expected to be released in 2023. You know me...I will be here waiting impatiently until I can fangirl over the next book!

"There's hope embedded in even the deepest suffering, that things will change or someday get better. But, death takes away the chance it will."

The plot picks up right after the ending of the first book. The story is expanding especially about the paranormal aspect regarding Fransesca's power. Like the portals to the other side, out of body experience and other ghosts appearance.

Writing style is the same as in the first book, it's easy to understand and get you suck right in with the Scooby gang! Not to mention, we got an additional POV from Jonah this time.

The characters are also growing, especially the friendship among the four of them and also the growing possibility between Jonah and Shiloh!

"I could live with Leonard escaping. I could live with him bringing back Evangeline, and I could happily watch him bring back every one of his freak show friends. But I can't live with this."

Moreover, we got to know more about the villain's background story, why he become like that and the motive for his killing.

The last few chapters are intense and it ended once again in a cliffhanger just like the first one, and I feel so sad because I don't have the next one right next to me!

"Endings have ways of making us sad, but we must not lose sight of all the ways they allow us to grow."

Overall, this is a great sequel to the first book, They Stay. It's a suspenseful and enjoyable read that makes you crave more!
I'm looking forward to read the next book, They Return coming out in Spring 2023!

This series is highly recommended and once more I would suggest to read the content warning on the blurb.

A huge thank you to Claire Fraise for giving me this digital copy of the book and also thank you to Book of Matches Media for allowing me to be a part of the book tour!

With its mix of mystery, ghost story, and supernatural thriller, THEY WHISPER is a fantastic sequel to They Stay. Picking up where book 1 left off, Shiloh, Max and the rest of the bunch are left picking up the pieces and healing as best they can, though they’re thrust right back into the action when it quickly becomes apparent their ordeal is far from over. Shiloh is now wanted by the police for murder and as if that isn’t bad enough, the supernatural doings are back in full force as well.

With even more twists and turns than it’s predecessor, this fantastic sequel kept me turning the pages. Shiloh and the relationship she has with her brother still remain my favorite aspect, and I loved that she still remains as protective as ever with him. Parental abuse and the associated traumas are a very prominent part of this story, as both Shiloh and her brother were victims, and much of that still plays a big role in this book. PTSD plays another big part of their story and watching the children wrestle with and deal with the effects of past abuse and trauma were often hard to read about. Necessary, but still hard.

Ghosts are also still very much a part of this tale, and we meet a few new ones his time around. I love that Shiloh is still coming to terms with her ability to see and speak to ghosts, though she’s certainly more comfortable this time. The ending leaves readers on the edge of their seats, with more questions than answers, and I for one cannot wait to see how that predicament plays out. All told, a fantastic second entry in this series, and I can’t wait for the next one.

*Many thanks to Claire Fraise for sending an arc my way.

I loved this!

This book is literally the definition of "what trauma can I put my characters through?" And I think that's what makes it so good. These are characters you seriously want to root for, but every possible obstacle is thrown at them. I really liked that we got to spend time in different character's POVs, but I did find myself missing Shiloh a bit.

Also, parts of this book were literally bone chilling. It felt like we graduated from thriller and moved on to straight up horror. The imagery was phenomenal!!

I do think I prefer They Stay, there's just something about it that feels like it can't be replicated. But overall, They Whisper is a fantastic sequel! The characters, the plot, it's all amazing! I can't wait for book three!!

⚠️Content warning: Contains violence, PTSD, drug addiction, kidnapping, and mental abuse⚠️

** Ok spoilers past here **

I have like a bajillion questions, so enjoy some of my thoughts throughout the book :)

I love Jonah, he's adorable. If anything happens to Miles I will cry, he's so sweet.

Me when i get to the line with the title 😏

Ok I know what I said about They Stay, how there was no clear-cut villain... I've changed my mind. Leonard is a villain.

Is Mrs. Lewis like gone gone? Is Jonah going to be ok? I'm sorry but Miles??? What on earth? So many betrayals, all the feels. I'm losing my mind. Francesca's missing a FINGER?? MILES???

THAT'S IT?!?!

4.5/5

I received a free e-ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

THEY WHISPER is the second in the THEY STAY series penned by Claire Fraise. It follows Shiloh Oleson, a highschool girl living in a small town called Bethany.

I was skeptical going into this book because I had really enjoyed the first book in the series and had really enjoyed it, and I didn't want to risk changing that; but this book did not disappoint. I will admit the author could have done a better job at getting each characters motivations clearer and physical desptions of the characters were almost absent. Another shortcoming is that while the stakes in the book were high, the characters at times seemed to forget what was at stake and there was almost no sense of urgency, resulting in the reader loosing the established emotional attachment to what was at stake (I hope that made sense :). Other than the points mentioned above, the book was really enjoyable. The plot was quite interesting and original, but at the same time parts of it, especially certain descriptions reminded me of the show 'Stranger Things'. The way the various plot lines intersect is spectacular and I especially loved the note on which the story ends. The characters were well developed and the romance unfolded perfectly. All in all, this is a great novel! It did not rely too much on the first book and it was a really fun read in general. I'm sure it will contribute positively to the whole series.

In college (a long time ago in a university not-that-far away), I learned five act structure. Prelude, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution or denouement (a much better word). In modern franchises, the first sequel is usually the weak film - the bridge film that gets you where you need to go, or explores backstory, or flushes out the picture just a bit more.

Let me be clear - the very last thing this book is is weak.

I am no longer the type of reader who can blow quickly through a book. Life is more complicated now. I found myself reaching several points where I had to put this down in order to give myself time to fully react and think. That’s because I have such an investment (roughly six hundred pages) in these characters and their plights. While some may consider this a bad thing, it is actually the opposite.

Also, the only thing in my opinion that makes this book YA is the age of the protagonists. Peppered throughout the dialogue are sentences showing the maturity and wisdom of these kids. They have “been around”, they’ve “seen some shit”. Some of which cannot be explained. Even in the middle of a highly emotional scene, Miles says “Life is too short to deny ourselves the company of people who make us happy”. That isn’t teenage naivete. That is a simple truth.

The pacing is much faster than in “They Stay”. The stakes are higher. Big secrets have been revealed now. More secrets are created. There is a buildup that leads to a major ending. The last line of the book (which I will not state here), sums up my entire feeling.

You know when you get there. That’s a major theme, and a constant. I also cannot wait to see where we go next.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review… let me tell you. Sequels aren’t supposed to be better than the original. The growth that was seen in this book from Shiloh, Francesca, and Jonah has kept me glued to this book from beginning to end. The book picks up the night/day of the first book. Which I do appreciate, there was no guessing how any one was feeling, the anticipation was still there when it came to Leonard and how he might or might not be included in the second book (no spoilers here). I was grateful that we got to learn maybe a bit more about Leonard and his motives, but then again how sane can these motives be? And who could feel the slow burn of a new romance. It didn’t feel forced at all and I lived for a certain boys chapters to hear his side. I would have to say that the last 60 pages or so are my favorite, I know I shouldn’t play favorites. I will admit I did tear up, scream at the book, maybe a little at the Author ( sorry Claire I still love you and your books though!) and that cliff hanger… it will haunt me until next year when the 3rd installment comes out. If you enjoy strange humor, great character development, ghosts, carnies, and having your heart pound with anticipation please read this book because Dear Lord it’s worth every page!

This is book 2 in @clairefraiseauthor They Stay YA series. Sequels can be hit or miss but I truly think this was a phenomenal sequel, and this book was just as gripping as the first. They Whisper carries on beautifully after the ending of They Stay, it truly starts off right where book 1 ends. It is a YA Paranormal Romance/Unlikely Friendships/Suspense/Thriller/Ghosts and so much more!!

To be honest, I am not usually someone who normally reads this genre, YA specifically, but I picked up book 1 because I knew that Fraise was a fellow Tufts Alum, and wanted to show my support. After reading book 1 in less than a few hours, I KNEW I had to get the second installment, and from there I was hooked!!!
Based off of this reading experience, if there is one thing that I know about a Claire Fraise book now, it's that I am going to be captivated from the start. She just knows how to keep me hooked and maintain my interest.

They Whisper, grabs you right from the beginning and keeps you hooked until the very end, where it definitely leaves you wanting more.

I love the character progression in this book. The added POV of Jonah really brought a great perspective to this book and really helped explain and grow the relationships of the characters. Francesca coming more out of her shell and realizing she truly has friends. Shiloh saying goodbye to following the rules. Jonah showing his softer side. Even Miles goes through some metaphorical, and actual changes by the end of the book. This book also delved deeper into the supernatural aspect in amazing detail.
The pacing in this is much faster than in “They Stay”. The stakes are higher. Big secrets have been revealed and more secrets are created. There is a buildup that leads to a major cliffhanger ending, so now I can't wait to see what book three brings.

Claire does provide some content warnings which include: Contains violence, PTSD, depictions of drug addiction, kidnapping, and mental abuse.

The story continues right where it left off. Shiloh, Jonah, Francesca and Miles are recovering from their crazy night.

I also liked seeing the progression of Francesca going from town pariah to having friends.
The premise is also interesting. The powers that Francesca has and, still discovering.
Shiloh's dad is sill the WORST. But her mom seems to be coming into her own. This sequel is better than the first. I liked that they are still having teenage issues while going through terror. Super realistic.
Well played Claire Fraise. Leaving us on a cliffhanger and now we have to wait until 2023 to see what happens!

Sequels have to be the hardest things to write, but Fraise really upped the ante in They Whisper! Shiloh and her friends are back in action right where they left off in the first book, and there's not a chapter that goes by without something big happening!

The Whisper is darker and creepier than the first book, and you can feel how every character is just a bit more unhinged. Choices are made that are inevitably going to be popping up in later books that I'm really interested to see play out. Shiloh has gone from saving her little brother, to trying to save a multitude of people, and every move she makes has a consequence. However, there were a few light moments, and I enjoyed seeing the friendship between Shiloh and Francesca grow.

4.5 stars rounded up! Great sequel.
Thanks to the author for the e-ARC!

Sooooooooo much happens in this one and I feel bad for everyone in it.

Shiloh, Miles, Francesa and Jonah really just keep getting the wrong end of the stick and all I can wonder is "how much worse can it get?!?!" We're gonna go with a lot worse!!!

This time the main issue doesn't have to do with saving a sibling, instead it's just making sure every one of the main characters lives! Everyone has soo many things to deal with after what happened in the last book, making things a bit tense from time to time between everyone.

I had thought going into this that the main problem would have been what happened at the very end of the first book, but that was only really part of the issue.

This is seriously soo good, with such great writing, and such real and raw characters that y'all need to check this out!!

Where to begin? This book grabs you right from the beginning and keeps you hooked until the very end, where it definitely leaves you wanting more. I can't get my hands on the third book soon enough.

I love the progression of the characters in this book. Francesca coming more out of her shell and realizing she truly has friends. Shiloh saying goodbye to following the rules. Jonah showing his softer side. Even Miles goes through some metaphorical, and LITERAL changes by the end of the book. I was also extremely happy to see some of the tension between Jonah and Shiloh finally addressed.

Overall, with the way the book ended, I can't wait to see what book three brings. And as a side note....I love the little interviews with the characters at the ends of the books. It's a nice little treat to get to know them better, and a way to add some teasers for upcoming books.

“Did you not talk to him about switching bodies?” -From They Whisper

4.5 stars

But how are they going to get out of that? Gah! What a cliffhanger. This second installment certainly didn’t suffer from second book syndrome; it was even more action packed than the first. It takes off right where book one ended, and the pace didn’t let up. Characters were developed more, and a relationship bloomed. I would have liked to see a little more Max, as I loved their dynamic, and I’m not sure Francesca would have fallen for that- but a fantastic thriller that I can’t wait to see what happens next with my favorite people.

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Claire Fraise’s They Whisper is thought-provoking, creepy, and dramatic, in the best ways! This supernatural series is off to an exciting start.

They Whisper is a fast-paced follow-up to They Stay. Shiloh, Francesca, Miles, and Jonah remind readers important lessons about inclusivity, loyalty, and love, while taking them along on a dangerous, yet imperative mission to bring down an unhinged and should-be dead nemesis. While reading, you will feel a mixture of dread and foreboding, along with rushes of care and hope. Spiritual questions arise, and the line between the living and the dead is further scrutinized. I continue to feel invested in this series! This ending is even better than the last...who knows what will happen next?

They Whisper by Claire Fraise is an absolutely fantastic story that will leave you wanting book three even more than you did this one. The story follows the lives of Shiloh, Francesca, Miles and Jonah and picks up right where book one left us. These four teens go through a lot in this book yet they all handle things really well. While this is definitely a supernatural thriller I also find it to be a coming of age story. I really enjoy the author’s writing style and how she alternates chapters between characters. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say to definitely read book one (if you haven’t already) and then immediately follow up with this one. It’s such an incredible, well thought out story that will leave you craving more. I highly recommend this book!
