He's an arrogant, infuriating CEO, and I've just been assigned to work with him on a project. It's a huge opportunity for me, if I can survive working with him.
He thinks he knows everything; I challenge him along the way. I start to notice his eyes graze my body while we argue, and my body instantly takes notice.
After one night in the parking lot, where he takes me on the hood of the car while someone watches from a distance, I know I'm addicted to this man.
He doesn't do relationships, but I know I haven't had enough of him yet.
I've promised myself to keep my heart out of this arrangement.
But as I get to know him, that promise is becoming harder to keep.

Broody CEO, Jameson, and self-possessed powerhouse, Peyton, find their way to an HEA in this contemporary romance. James has risen from the trauma of his past: losing his parents, fostered and re-homed several times… but eventually makes his way to education and business success. A broken engagement leaves him haunted by his ex’s parting words, claiming he will never be “enough.” Peyton is a highly motivated IT member, given the golden opportunity to head a major software acquisition for their firm. She just needs to make it through intense work sessions with her hot-as-Hades CEO. He’s demanding, but she doesn’t fold… she can sass back and hold her own. Internally, she likes the flashes he shows of his dominant side… wonders just how good it could be. A chance encounter at a “sex club” lights the fuse on a burning passion for these two. The angst is clear: can they maintain professional boundaries and keep it “casual” without anyone catching feelings? A family tragedy pushes them closer, but blurs their once-clear boundary… and also triggers the release of his demons to push against their growing connection. Can James trust Peyton with his dark truth? Can Peyton trust him with her whole heart?
Writing style is very dialogue-heavy, and the story arc is fairly obviously stated. However, there are a couple of surprise moments that added interest to the plot. There are a few spicy scenes (the hood of the car scene is tantalizing!). Author is new and promising, and I’ll be excited to see how her craft grows.
My reviews are generally based on emotion and how much the author makes me care for the characters. I always try to look the other way when I come across editing errors. I'm certainly not an expert, but this book had so many errors it was distracting at times. It was still a good story, though.
First time reading Nicole Baker’s books and it won’t be the last. I loved it Nicole has written this book so well, it was easy to connect with the main characters and my heart broke for James. The only disappointment is there was no epilogue 4 ⭐️
I cannot stop reading about the Brady family. I accidentally read Jackson's story (#3) which was out of sequence. It made me realize I wanted to start at the beginning of their saga. I thoroughly enjoyed the two books in the series and can't wait to get into Liam's tale (#2). I kinda hate putting a damper on my rave review, but I must. Please have someone proof read "Enough" and correct the many incorrect words used. Seventeen years of Catholic schools & the first twelve with nuns who taught me that if I turned in something with as many errors it would be very bad & an automatic fail. Ha ha. So now I have a virtual red pencil that pinpoints every mistake. I still loved this kick ass book and look forward to the remaining three.
This book leads with the Boss and Employee trope but gives you so much more than that.
There is the aspect of forbidden love but some of the traumas that each character goes through gives the story a lot of depth.
Jameson and Peyton are super cute as a couple and Peyton’s family are just the best to read about. I just felt the book was super sweet and gave me all the feels.
Loved this book! I love a good CEO romance. I loved how strong Peyton was & always gave Jackson sass right back. Their love story is definitely worth the read.
