When the author first posted, she was writing a VinEssa novella; I literally jumped for joy. They’re my favorite couple and still are.
This action pact novella takes place two years after the end of the duet. We read how they progressed and the next journey. But Vin, being Vin, does what he thinks is right. Without talking to Essa. Not realizing they are the same broken people, she accepts him for him.
I am highly impressed by how much was in this novella and how the author didn't leave any details out. Fiend doesn't feel rushed and has tremendous character growth. Of course, Vin and Essa still have amazing steamy sex scenes.
Fiend is a phenomenal novella. It has everything. Dark, epic, steamy, and you may be sitting on the edge. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Vin and Essa. Hopefully, they will have a cameo in future books.

Well, that's the sweet ending for the dark bloody series for those who wanted more from this couple.

Their beautifully heartwrenching dark story started with CREEP, and continued with MONSTER, ending with both of them embracing their darkest parts and taking a chance on each other for a better future.
But there was one thing left to do before stepping into the new chapters of their life, so this is the farewell to VinEssa with Fiend.
Fiend is a monsters in usnovella, and is to be read after Creep and Monster.

I've been in love with VinEssa ever since I read Creep, their story is truly morbid, yet beautiful in its own entirety. Creep is a debut novel and was freaking amazing. Monsters in us duet is maliciously good, and it deals with some heavy triggers.
But If you think you've read enough knife play and blood kink, tsk 😏, this will totally annihilate your mind and soul. There is no one else for VinEssa apart from each other, they bite and bleed, cut and lick. I love Marie Ann's writing and how much efforts and research she puts in her characters.
When I first read Creep I couldn't get it out of my head, the Prologue hits you like a freight train, and I was truly disturbed 😐 but then it gets better. Everyone is different, and so is VinEssa💜. There is nothing too dark, rather it depends on your perspective, and how you look at it 💯.

I loved this novella. It gives us readers a glimpse into the lives of two characters we have grown to love, Vin and Essa. It brought tears of joy to my heart even if it was filled with dark twists, some depravity and some very steamy moments. I laughed, I cried and I gushed with so much love for Vin and Essa and their wonderful crazy future together.
Perfectly written with all the darkness, toxicity and all-consuming passion and love that Vin and Essa have for each other. LOVED IT!!!

This was the perfect novella for Vin and Essa ! The writing is excellent the story is dark toxic and twisted it’s only a story this author can tell and I loved every bloody word of it ! I couldn’t of asked for more from my favorite psycho couple and I can’t wait for what’s next from Marie .

I had the absolute pleasure of alpha reading this VinEssa novella and honestly it was the send off we all wanted and needed imo.
I fell in love with VinEssa as a couple the moment I read Creep last year and they were imperfectly perfect in every way for my dark soul. As always, this author absolutely smashed it with the character development considering the book was set a while after the ending of Monster and it’s really good to see how VinEssa have progressed in their relationship.
Essa has found comfort and trust in this book and it’s honestly heart warming. Let’s be honest, they are still VinEssa in all their flaws and faults so seeing the back and forth hasn’t changed in this short story.
We also get a glimpse from other POV’s that are a perfect lead into the authors current WIP which I for one cannot WAIT to read.
This story is heartwarming and dark all in one, please still take the trigger warnings seriously and read with caution but I promise you, the delightful end to VinEssa’s story is well worth the read.

This quick novella is the perfect cherry on top of Vincent and Essa’s story. You need to read Creep and Monster first to enjoy this one but if you were dying for a few more VinEssa moments this is everything.
Naturally a couple as toxic as this one isn’t just going to ride off into the sunset with a white picket fence and 3.5 kids. There’s going to be some bumps and some blood along the way. Vin is not Prince Charming and that’s what I adore about him. And I love every moment we get of him in this book but especially the second half. The EMOTIONS 😭
Anywho, I feel like it ties up their story so well. It answers questions I didn’t even know I needed answers to and I’m so glad we got a glimpse into their life with this novella.
It definitely has me excited for Leo and Jax’s story, too!
Anyway go read it! And If you haven’t read Creep and Monster yet definitely pick those up first, I highly recommend!!

Do you *NEED* to read this novella? Technically no, VinEssa does get their HEA in Monster. Should you read this? YES.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this but it was just perfect. Two years later and Vincent get his revenge in the man who took a piece of his Babydoll.
Did I get all teary eyed when Vincent was in the hospital with Poppy? 😭 Yes, yes I did. VinEssa have been through so much and they needed this, they deserved it 🖤

perfection 🥹
Oh my god this was perfect I read this a few months back the duet but I wanted to save the novella for a later time. With New Year’s coming up it was a perfect time to dive back into Vinessa. And boy was it epic Poppy the whole development their dynamic was beautiful totally worth the read ! 🥹😭🫶

This was a great novella and I really enjoyed it! I dont read many of them so it was a nice change. Marie Ann did a great job at writing it and didnt leave anything out and was very well written. It was Dark, it was steamy, it was all the feels. Great job!

Vin and Essa are back! Vin, abrasive, ahole, forceful, and Essa ever feisty and resolute and now pregnant. Vin has one more job, one more time his presently chained monster can play. But Vin isn’t the best communicator, and so the story unfolds.
It was nice to get back into Vin’s unhinged thoughts and experience his overbearing behavior knowing that Essa can more than handle him. They are flawed, succumbing to their vices, some unhealthy, yet still well-matched. They share and thrive in their toxic love, true to themselves.
Our love is toxic at best and downright deadly at its worst. But that’s just us. That’s what we’ve always been.

Despite the gratuitous violence — really, all the detail was not necessary — and profuse profanity, and I still don’t know much about Vin’s childhood, there was so much raw feeling in this story. I found myself teary eyed whether from Vin’s absolute adoration of Essa and the couple’s natural affinity; Essa’s strong fragility and despairing thoughts about her sister; to Leo’s gruff, fatherly love; and Jax’s sweet and humble care. Beautifully, they were all simply family, however broken; there was love.
One of my favorite couples, damaged, intense. They owned their toxicity, brought the passion and their consuming love and loving affection for their extended family Leo and Jax. Excellent novella.

Wow another knock out by this author! I l love this couple so much! After I finished the monsters in us duet I could not stop thinking about Vincent and Essa!
Do Vincent and Essa have a normal relationship no? They are toxic, they love the pain they give each other, the love the push and pull love that they have.
Vincent has been keeping something from Essa, he's been locking away his feelings for the things he used to do. The killings he misses the way it craves the monster in him. He is doing one thing, but he hasn't told Essa he has been keeping from her!?
What happens when Essa wakes up and finds he left and didn't tell her where he was going!?
What happens when Vincent come back home and all he can see is blood in the bathroom!?
This was a perfect way to say goodbye to these characters. VinEssa will forever have a special place in my heart! This novella brought out the feelings for me, I was smiling, I was mad at Vincent and I was crying.

Vincent is a dark, twisted, monster of a man that I can't help but view as perfect. He's so broken but it's beautiful. He is this force that pushes himself to be better but still succumbs to the cravings he tried to bury.
Seeing their life after what happened in Monster, gave this beautiful closure to how Vin and Essa survived. Their love is so unconventional, but it's theirs. This story gives us that little bit more into their lives and into the softness that Vin unknowingly has.
Essa is just as strong, if not more so, now. She radiates. She gives strength to Vin when he needs it the most, even if he doesn't realize it.
It's an emotional story that while it is classic VinEssa, it gives us a new light in which to see them. It was the perfect way to close their chapter. Also giving us a look inside the minds of Leo and Jax. So much is to come from them and it's going to be a crazy ride that I can not wait to experience.

4.5 Baby Doll Stars!! 💜 💚
Having read Creep and Monster i could not contain my excitement for this novella! From the moment it was announced it became an anticipated read of mine. I picked it up and got right back into the Monsters In Us world! I devoured it in one sitting. I loved it!
VinEssa is back baby doll! I was pulled back into their world from the get go. I was so happy to reunite with these characters! Getting more of Vincent and Essa's journey was so fantastic! Once again, these two had me feeling so dang much!
I so enjoyed what Leo and Jax brought to this novella as well! It was awesome being back in this world with all of these characters!

An epic finale for Essa and Vincent!!
Marie did these Essa and Vincent justice with this follow up novella.
This is a low angst, high emotion packed short read that follows these two as they prepare to welcome their little one.
I adore the raw vulnerability Vincent has as he doubts he is good enough for his babydoll and their unborn child. Especially when his need to get to track down and get revenge on the one who nearly took Essa from him.
I love how Essa has the bigger backbone and is protective over Leo and Jax along with facing Vincent.
This was a really good wrap up and closure (that was much needed) after Monster. Marie has wrote characters that are raw, scarred, broken and so strong. I loved some and hated to love others, but they all ended up getting cozy within my heart and I won’t forget them anytime soon. I can’t wait to dive into the characters’ stories.

Fiend is a Monsters In Us novella. Reading the duet first is necessary and recommended. It takes place two years after Monster, and both Essa and Vin have found their “normal” together. A few things have changed since we’ve seen them last, but all in all, they’re the same VinEssa we all know and love. We get to see Essa’s bratty self, Vin’s violent, twisted self, and their raw, toxic love. Despite all that, we get to see a very new side of both of them, and I won’t say too much because I refuse to spoil, but I teared up big time. Perfect, perfect ending to their story.
Marie’s writing is exceptional and it never fails to amaze me the way she has with words. She writes pain, anger, and toxicity so well. You can feel everything these characters feel. She did so right by them with this novella. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

If you’ve read the first two books—Creep and Monster in the Monsters In Us duet then you know VinEssa’s love story is messy, chaotic, brutal, and any other way simply wouldn’t have worked for these two characters. After leaving things off in Monster, this novella was such a needed ending to their story! After everything VinEssa has been through, they deserved a bit of light but of course with them there’s no light without the storm that comes before. Their journey has been such a wild emotional ride, and they’ve come so far. Author Marie Ann has executed their story so perfectly in the first two books in this duet but this novella just did things to my heart that I didn’t even know were possible. This was truly the right and perfect ending for VinEssa’s story, and I absolutely loved this novella along with the rest of the Monsters In us Duet!

My favorite toxic unhinged couple is back with a little tale .
This is the novella I didn't know I needed . It was quick crazy and surprisingly sweet , I a way that only VinEssa can be .
2 years after everything , the couple seem just a bit better for today , happy in the way that most broken people think they deserve ..
A little tale of revenge for the monster within
Alot of stubbornness from the brat herself .
And a surprise that softens Vin even more so than the softness he holds for Essa ..
We also get a few POVs from Leo an Jaxon , The fatherly figure within Leo and the sweet an caring within Jaxson .. these four have definitely made a family of misfits . I'm content with the novella and where VinEssa are in their relationship/ family .

This was the perfect ending to Vin and Essa. I expected nothing less than the tragic, intense, violent, and all feeling story/ending that is Vin and Essa.
Vin and Essa grabbed me at the very beginning of the story in Creep. I can't believe their story has come to an end but it needed to. This ending made the most sense and gave closure to them and their story. It stl brought out all the feels in me!
Marie Ann has a twisted but beautiful mind that can put together these stories and couples with pain, heartache, tragedy, their own versions of love, and broken individuals. But it all makes sense and fits together so well

Reading a novella from characters that I will forever be obsessed with really makes my day, and it makes me so happy! I was excited about this novella from the moment Marie Ann announced it.

This novella focuses on how their relationship has changed a couple years after Monster concluded, and I think it was so refreshing and needed to see how them in a different relationship dynamic.

Another smash hit from one of my absolute instant one-clicks 😍🥵😊 this was sweet and sexy with a touch of raw emotion that appears in every Marie Ann novel - soooo, it was perfect as always 😉🥰 throw in a baby VinEssa and I was fit to be tied (the way it was so beautifully written, honestly made me want a baby of my own 🤷♀️😅🤣🤣🤣🤣😬). A perfect ending to a beautifully dark story with two of the most poignant characters I've ever read 🥰

I love this novella so much , it was the perfect glimpse of Vin and Essa . You could see how much they truly grew being together for 2 years but still being their toxic self’s lol . The writing was beautiful, and the plot was very fast paced and it can be read in one sitting. I don’t want to spoil too much but poppy 🥺🖤 I cannot wait for more of Jaxon and Leos story next .
