The Hopeless Romantics of Willow Ridge series are sweet, small-town contemporary romances. Each book is a standalone and can be read individually or as part of the series.
I really enjoyed Falling for the Single Dad. Christina Butrum is a master of writing sweet, clean romance novels set in small towns. It is refreshing to read books that rely on character and plot development to engage and hold the reader’s interest, instead of the torrid scenes that so many authors create. Ms. Butrum has become one of my favorite authors.
I love books about single fathers raising children alone…Especially if the child is a girl. Scott lost his wife, to cancer when Baylee was six years old. Three years later he struggles to know how to handle situations that are completely out of his realm of understanding.
Jayda is a loving granddaughter trying to help her Grandma Edie save her small bookstore in the small town of Willow Ridge.
Scott is not looking for romantic involvement, nor is Jayda. Grandma Edie and Baylee have other ideas.
Each book in the Hopeless Romantics of Willow Ridge series is a stand alone. I definitely recommend Falling for the Single Dad and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Jayda & Scott are a match made in heaven. She lived in New York doing on-line marketing for a company, when out of nowhere the owner closes the business for the last quarter of the year. She's scared and worried but agrees to her boss's suggestion to take a much-needed vacation, since she has a lot of vacation time accrued. So, she goes hometown her small town of Willow Ridge to see her grandmother.
Scott, a single dad owns the Real Estate company in town and has a client who wants to buy her grandmother's bookstore. Scott is a single dad just trying to make a living to give his young daughter the best that he can.
Jayda is furious when she finds out the guy, she just met in town is the one that is trying to convince her grandmother to sell her shop. Grandma isn't selling but has something up her sleeve. Scott realizes that she will never sell so he must talk to his client.
This is a well written enemies to lovers' story. This story will make you become a hopeless romantic. Wonderful book!
There's just something about a second chance at love romance for a widower with a young daughter. Scott didn't always make the right decisions, but he was thinking of Baylee and what was best for her first. Jayda sees him as the bad guy working with a chain store to get her grandmother to sell the family bookstore. But he comes to see the reasons why her grandmother won't sell and why Jayda and Baylee want to help her business thrive. But Jayda's time in Willow Ridge is temporary. Can Scott risk his and Baylee's hearts? I loved that they made Baylee's mother's recipes and thought of ways to remember her. It didn't seem like Jayda had figured out what to do about the job situation by the end of the book, but she certainly had plenty of work at her grandmother's store with all that she added.
Falling for the Single Dad ~Willow Ridge #6 by Christina Butrum A great book to add to the collection of books by various authors, I love how they can come up with an idea, and the story just flows, from the very first book, well until the last. Falling for the Single Dad is written beautifully, I love Christina's books, I can imagine and picture the characters and the place they all feel so real. I feel I am at home when reading her books. Great author, great story, and of course a great series. Thank you, Christina, for yet another fabulous book to add to my collection. I highly recommend this book, this can be read as a standalone but I will advise purchasing the rest, as the characters from the other books pop up, too:)
