They drafted my sister to be sacrificed to the monster last autumn. I never in a million years expect my name to be drawn this time. But once I see Keri Palmer flashing on the TV screen, I know I only have two options. Accept my fate of being fed to a monster, leaving my younger sister, Leah, all alone, or run and try to escape with her. I choose the latter.
Now, I have the government hunting me down, desperate to catch me in time to lower me into the ground at midnight. If they don’t send down a sacrifice, the monster will rise to kill us all, or so we’ve always been told. Only the rumors have been spreading, about sexy monsters who want women for more than just a meal. News outlets have shown drawings of them that make forbidden thoughts run through my mind.
I’m determined not to find out which of the rumors are actually true. I refuse to meet the same end my older sister did. Either I make it into another quadrant, or I’ll give that monster hell when they lower me down to him.
One way or another, I won’t lose.
Fleeing from the Monster is not intended to be read as a standalone. It is the second book in a series and should be read after the first book, Sacrificed to the Monster.
This is an erotic sci-fi romance. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and HEA guaranteed!
The last 5 books or so I've read have all been erotica, so I should have thought twice before diving into another one.
I got book 1 as a freebie and waited until I had KU for book 2. I wish the whole monster thing would have been explained a little better in this book since I read book 1 last year. Their love for each other seemed to stem mostly from sex as they only had one conversation about other things. (I hate to be the Debbie Downer, but I just gotta mention it.)
I might read book 3 as I'm curious about the youngest sister, Leah, though it won't be immediately after this one.
The author either needs to fire her editor or hire a proofreader because I caught quite a few typos.
The amount of spice and smut. So dark and sinfully delicious.🔥🔥🥵 That’s a fast paced erotic sci-fi short read.
Fleeing from the Monster picks up right after the first book Scarified to The Monster. The story continues with Keri Palmer and Linc.
Linc already knew Keri was his, it's only a matter of time he gets her to realize it too. It was just a year ago their sister Grace was selected to be sacrificed to the monster. Now her name is flashing on the tv screen. Keri knows if she runs her sister Leah will suffer the consequences for breaking her government’s rules. But how can she leave her sister alone after everything they’ve lost and endured. Grace…their father’s abuse.
In a last attempt, she decides to run but is caught, prepped and lowered to the monster that waits for her. Keri plans to fight the monster with everything he has.
Government corruption, lies, mates, love, family and potential war in the future?? Plus the ending! I can’t wait to read what happened in that story. I want to see what the other quadrants do, especially the one that sacrifices the men.

4.5 stars. Keri, the female lead, is furious when she’s selected to be this year’s sacrifice to the monsters living underground. Her sister was selected last year and she’s terrified her remaining sister will not cope with her absence. Forced to go, she is furious with the monster, attacking him and then engaging in hate-sex, which is far better than she wants it to be…
Linc, the male lead, dropped information that there is more than one monster, certain that his mate wouldn’t accept him if she thought he’d killed her sister last year but now he has to get past the barrier of her hate…
This novella is dual POV, well written, and an interesting, highly erotic tale of a male trying to work within societal boundaries to win a female angry at the world. I enjoyed both characters’ individual development, as well as the relationship development and the active inclusion of secondary characters, once the initial bond was established.

Ava Mona has done it again with this book. I loved the first one of this series and now I love this one just as much if not more. Keri is beyond shock when she sees her name on the TV for the draft just a year after her sister's name was picked. She is so desperate to make sure her other sister is safe that she does something stupid, which makes everything worse. Keri has a lot of trust issues from her father(you learn how he is in the first book). When Linc first realizes she is his, he can't wait to make her his. He has to deal with her issues and getting her to trust him first. The end has a very interesting surprise in store for you. It has me counting down the days until the next book comes out. It you are looking for a short but steamy read I seriously recommend this book 🔥🔥🥵.
Loved this monster romance that tells the story of the second sister, Keri (h) and the monster, Linc (H), who just happens to be the brother of the monster from the first book. Thinking that their sister Grace is dead after being selected for the monster draft a year ago, Keri has been trying to keep things together for her sister, Leah. Keri can’t believe it when she's picked for this year's monster draft. Keri goes to the monster convinced he's planning to kill her, but that couldn’t be further from what he desires of her. There’s plenty of hot and steamy action between Keri and Linc, even as she tries to fight her growing feelings for him. I am so looking forward to Leah's story!
Another year, another Autumn draft, and this year, when Keri’s name is drawn, she runs. I loved Keri’s fighting spirit, but most of all I loved how teasingly yet intently Linc seduced Keri until eventually she lowers her defences. Things are getting tense between humans and the Grounders - I’m excited to read the next book in this series (Kidnapped by the Monster).
Worth The Wait ~ What fantastic read. As much as I enjoyed this first book in this series, I like this one even more. That whole listening in on the mind thing, that would make life so easy. I liked that he used what he saw in her head for her and not against her, or to hurt her. He understood what she had gone thru, had to deal with because of her father. I liked that she did not hold what was done to the father against him, but felt a sense of calm and gratitude. I really enjoyed reading this story, and am impatiently waiting for the next book!
I have been waiting and waiting for this story! Ever since the first book I have been anticipating reading this sequel. You can read this on it's own, but I was fortunately lucky to read about the first sister and her "sacrifice."
Still in mourning over their sister, another sister is called up to be fed to the monster...but all is not what it seems. Already abused by a terrible father, now it seemed life was going to get worse, or was it? Our H had to bide his time, something he hadn't been happy about, but it would all work out to get his beautiful bride...
Another fabulous pair!! I hated the girls' background, their father was a real piece of work. Such a disgusting person. But the new family she'd found with him was terrific. I felt so terrible for her, and unfortunately he had to wait on her, but it all worked out in the end. And she and her H are so HOT together!! With passion, love, family, all was going to be OK. And now for the last bride...

I was given an ARC by the author for a fair & honest review.
I really liked this book. It was a good continuation from the first book, Sacrificed to the Monster: A Monster Romance. It could be read as a stand alone but reading book one will provide a more detailed background of the characters world and challenges. This book has enemy to lover fated mates, a corrupt government, and an unexpected reunion. I found it a quick but enjoyable read. I totally recommend this book.
One year after her sister's sacrifice to the monster beneath, Keri is shocked and devasted to discover this year it is her own turn. Leah hardly coped when their eldest sister was made to leave and this is too much for either to deal with. Their lives had just started to be happy and content until that announcement shattered their peace. There are not many options but Keri cannot simply walk to her certain death. She makes a decision but.. Will she miss the chance to meet her mate?
I adored this as much as the first book and was completely captivated by the battle within them. Keri uses anger mainly to try to control the situations she finds herself a part of. This is a strong and capable woman who wants to protect her sister by doing whatever is necessary. These two books so far have managed to inject pure love into my veins and kickstarted my once bitter heart. I can't get over how talented this author is and the writing style is so unique. I longed for this continuation to the draft series and without giving away any spoilers... All I can say is this is a world I cannot wish to leave and I'd be hoping to be sacrificed myself.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series. I thought it was interesting and unique. So I'm very glad for a sequel- this time surrounding the sister of the first book's heroine. Keri Palmer has been trying to protect her younger sister Leah from their alcoholic father's abuse ever since her sister was taken from them and sacrificed to the monster. When their father vanished one day and didn't return, they finally began to relax and try to move on. But on the year anniversary of losing Grace, Keri's name is called. Risking imprisonment, they flee but are caught and Keri has no choice but agree to the sacrifice. But it isn't what they believed. Great world building. I can't wait until Leah's book. 5 stars.
Keri is next to be sacrificed. So she runs. She meets Linc on her quest to not be sacrificed. It takes some time for them to really get together. Like the first book this one is enjoyable and different. The characters are wonderful. It has to be bad knowing you are going to be sacrificed and die. This is another great story. I could not put it down.

I really have enjoyed this series so far. This is Keri's book. Last year her sister was sacrificed to the monster, this year her name is called. If she goes, she will be leaving her little sister all alone. This is a great series. Cannot be read alone but is a must read.

Book 2 in this series did not let me down! Keri and I have so much in common! Ava has found an amazing story to tell not only are the spicy scenes….hot, but the over all plot is amazing. I can’t wait to see what book 3 brings!
These little books are so freaking cute???? Dirty, weird, sweet, and just silly little novellas that I am absolutely inhaling and now I’m in love with a family of monsters.
Plus it’s always a good time when the monster has a tail.
I’m so excited for book 3 these stories are like Pringles once you pop you just can’t stop.
What caught my eye was monsters, what kept me reading was a nice storyline and interesting characters. And monsters. And steam.
I read book one and was waiting for book two when I received a copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review. I’m definitely waiting for book three.
The tail was the best part! Talk about a bonus feature. He may be a monster on the outside but Linc is a sweetheart for his Keri. Loved this couple so much! Hope to still see more of them.
This is the second book in the series and I'm not sure which I loved more. Keri is the next to be sacrificed to the monster, she cannot believe it considering her sister was the last sacrifice. I'm really enjoying this series, can't wait for to start the next book.
I loved this one! Keri is definitely defiant and Linc wears his heart on his sleeve. This one was a bit more angsty than the first one. It also leads up to Leah's stor, which I'm excited to start!
I loved this sequel!! I was a little disappointed that the difficulties between this couple were very, very similar to the problems of the couple from the first book.
