Price of Love #2

Earning Her Keep

Rate this book
I’m standing in the rain carrying everything I own in a black trash bag. I have no idea where to go. In my pocket is a wet wad of money–enough for a cup of coffee and a bus ride, as long as I don’t want to go too far.

Then fate lends a hand. If I pretend to be a girl named Emily, I can get exactly what I need right now. A job, a place to live, and no interference from the outside world.

What could be more perfect?

My new boss. That’s what. Dane Philipe.

I’m not supposed to even look at him. Not supposed to speak to him. But, before I know it, I’m naked in his Roman bathtub, and then I’m using his pillow for… well, you get the picture.

Little do I know that he’s been stalking me since the day I arrived. Watching. Waiting. Obsessing.

When he takes what he wants without asking, I learn what earning my keep really means.

But the past is hard to escape. When mine comes looking for me, will my deception put an end to what’s just getting started? Or will Dane give me the chance at a life I’ve never had before?

Author’s Note: Grab your ice packs and clutch your pearls. These two get knee deep in the hoopla straight out of the gate! Can this OCD uber hero relax enough to make room for the lovely chaos of his new employee? He’s sure gonna try, but she’s not going down easy. She makes him earn it. Safe, no cheating ever, with a happy ending they both earn.

How much would you pay to find your happily ever after? Enjoy this second book in the standalone series The Price of Love

Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.

So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo

It was sexy and obsessive! From both sides! 4 stars only because I wish the heroine didn't do what she did when she cleaned the hero's room. She also quickly settled in in one month, it was more plausible if several months had passed.
Basically, I want a heroine who doesn't want a hero at first sight.

this was an odd read for me. i liked the first half before they started having sexy times but the sex scenes themselves weren't to my taste (sorry, not the biggest fan of daddy kink)
the atmosphere was set very nicely in the beginning, a hint of gothic and mystery that i loved, but once they started having sex it was like i was reading another book because of the change in language.

just ok

This one rubbed me the wrong way quite a few times. I didn’t care for how the hero would speak or treat the heroine. I didn’t like how he would blame her for his actions or how he wanted to punish her for the way he felt. It came off almost abusing. He would call her names and he would degrade her.

It kinda felt like a man wrote this. The only thing I did like about this was the H wasn’t a manwhore, his past wasn’t mentioned at all and the heroine was a virgin. No others, no cheating. HEA with epilogue decades out

I absolutely loved this book but I guess I can see why Amazon banned it (according to their rules, not mine). Like I said I loved it. It’s def dub/con and at points kinda noncon. But he’ll, it was HOT 🥵. I’m glad I got the opportunity to get a copy and will read more from this author especially since she can’t really make money off this one.

Dani Wyatt's latest book, Earning Her Keep, had everything I wanted in a short, spicy, and slightly forbidden love story—a possessive and dominant hero who is obsessed and stalks his sweet but dirty heroine. Similar to the theme in Obsession, Dane and Primrose have an interesting relationship that can be defined as hate and love. Dane is madly obsessed with Primrose and cannot stop thinking about her; as a result, he hates her for interrupting his daily routine and rules. In comparison, Primrose is a runaway who inadvertently steals another person's identity to work in Dane's household. She is similarly attracted and obsessed with Dane, who is always on the back of her mind.

"She's the opposite of my order and rules. She's free and pure and… true. Everything I want. Everything I don't deserve."

The power dynamic between these two was also a heady thing to witness because Dane is illusive, mysterious, but safe to Primrose. I was holding my breath for the moment their attraction to each other finally came to a head and I was certainly not disappointed by the outcome at all. The chemistry between Dane and Primrose was simply magnetic and addictive to read. I also love the forbidden and taboo aspect of it as well because Primrose was young and innocent whereas Dane was older and hardened by life. Both were hiding secrets—one that they surprisingly had in common.

"I have never known hunger, need, or desire the way I know it for her.""

In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this book because Dane and Primrose's relationship was incredibly dirty and sexy. In many ways, Dane loves watching Primrose as much as she loves submitting to him. As a huge fan of Dani Wyatt's writing, this might be my favorite of her more recent works. The teasers we got leading up to this book's release were extraordinarily hot and the subsequent scenes we got… wow. I highly recommend this book to those who like the forbidden romance and boss/employee relationship tropes with a domineering, masculine, and wealthy hero with a heroine who falls in love with her older and handsome employer.

Dani has given us another growls and OTT possessive man but with a wonderful twist.
He’s the employee and she is his maid/cook/housekeeper and he very much invades her privacy by watching everything she does.
Scrumptiously delicious 😋

I'm so confused by the reviews. I feel like the reviews saying he's too mean or whatever must have been written by church ladies. I'm also not sure why this was banned on Kindle. It's one of the tamest books I've read. I don't understand what's happening with those two things. Anyway...

Emily/Primrose (virgin, runaway) has to escape her foster home before she turns 18, or they'll force her into sex slavery. She takes a job as a housekeeper for Dane (possessive, stalker, alpha, recluse) under a different name/identity. Dane falls Insta-Insane love with her and stalks and spies on her as she adjusts to a her new life. He finally gives in and claims her.

He's not too mean. Sure he calls her his little slut a few times but damn, it's in most books with insane-alphas. He tells her sweet things too and dotes on her and even gives her some eskimo kisses. The sex was hot, but there wasn't nearly enough of it.

I loved it. I might normally give it 4 stars, but I'm upping it to 5 to counter the incorrect negative reviews. Sheesh people - expand your thinking with regards to insane alphas.

This is the story of Primrose, a girl in the foster care system running away from a terrible life just as she celebrates her 18th birthday. By hearing some information on a café she ends up being a housekeeper for a rich man. A mysterious man who watches her very carefully, not showing himself though she catches glimpses of him and develops a fascination for him.

Their encounters are very, very intense, he is pretty aggressive in his loving ways but in the end it seems to be just what she wants. As she is sweet he is controlling yet loving, each with their trait but coming together to built a perfect life for each other.

This is one of Dani Wyatt's intense romances, this degree of heat is not my favorite anymore so I couldn't enjoy the book to its fullest but it is very well written, short, focused on the couple, a story perfect for anyone looking for this kind of obsessive love and the heat of it.

I receive a copy of this in order to offer my personal view on it.

Primrose and Dane's story!

Primrose is running from her old life in foster care because she just turned eighteen and was going to be forced to do things she didn't want to do. So she ends up pretending to be a girl named Emily so she can get a housekeeping job. She sees the owner of the mansion where she will be working but doesn't really get to meet him because he is a control freak and sticks to a ridged schedule. Dane sees the girl Emily (Primrose) for the first time and becomes instantly obsessed and must fight himself to maintain his ridged control around her. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

This was an okay read for me. I loved the idea of the story but somethings just didn’t work for me. The characters were okay as well. This just wasn’t the book for me.

The couple: Dane and Primrose

Romance trope: Daddy kink; housekeeper
Series: Price of Love
Length: 1682 locations

Plot: Primrose needs to get away from home, fast. She overhears a girl named Emily talking about a job, so she shows up to the job claiming to be Emily. The job is to be a maid for Dane, but there are all sorts of rules, and once Dane notices her, there are other considerations as well. He's...intense and he intends to make Primrose a permanent part of his household.

Commentary: Stalker alert! Honestly, it's a little less stalking because it is his house, but Dane literally hides under her bed sometimes. But she's not much better! She cleans his room and then spends some quality time in his bed while he's not there (or so she thinks). There was a fair bit of Daddy and degradation/humiliation kink, so if either is your thing, you'll like this. As much as he likes to call her names, he also helps her with her dyslexia, which is something nobody ever did before.
The book itself was banned on Amazon, but you may still be able to get it from the author's website.

Wow, this one was crazy! Slightly dark and twisted, between Dane's obsession with Primrose and all the dirtiness that comes out of that obsession. Initially I really liked Dane, his POV was great to start. I'm a sucker for a stalker type hero but my liking went down a bit when he actually caught her in his bed. The scene that happened after was not my jam. I think as the story progressed, it became more and more interesting. Overall, I did like it by the end and would recommend.

This was an amazing story, I loved Dane and Primrose! Dane was so protective over her and he has OCD tendencies that he learned every second of her schedule. He even set up doctors appointments for her to make sure she was healthy. I loved that she helped him relax a bit and that he forget about his rigid schedule. It was great when she threw his watch in the pool.

The characters Dane and Primerose may have started with a lie but it flourished and loved everything about this story. Their chemistry was off the charts and I was not able to put this down till the end. You are going to love this story as much as I did.

4.25 ⭐️ I am not sure why this book was banned on Amazon. I read it on BookFunnel. It was a novel storyline. It could’ve been a much better book if some of the side characters had some closure. But I liked other books from this author very much.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

I enjoyed this book, I really liked the introduction of Primrose and getting to know her personality and past, and also finding her a more relatable character, thanks to her vulnerability and innocent demeanor, especially when she admits to her dyslexia and bares herself to Dane. I also liked getting his backstory and finally finding out why he was the way he was after having a bit of confusion when Primrose decides to take such a job and why he had so many 'stipulations', and also having his character have his OCD made his character relatable too, which I think is really good in a story where you can understand and relate to the characters as things like OCD and dyslexia are perfectly normal and natural in the real world too. I liked the 'stalker' vibe that came from Dane which quickly changes into obessession and that gives the story so much heat but then the other takes it a step further when it comes to him spying on Primrose from behind his mirror whilst she is supposed to be cleaning his suite. You could feel the heated tension between them both even if they were a wall apart and I liked that this seemed to be a turning point for their relationship and they finally speak, at first I was a bit like whoa! As their relationship kind of poofed into existence and I was like I missed something, as not every secret spying interaction was written so at first I was at a loss for the connection and for me it wasn't even their first steamy encounter that did it for me, as I don't know, it took a lot of concentrating to figure out their dynamic in between their new tabooness as it was a lot of conflicting feelings and emotions for them but if you hang on in there you will finally get to that point of understanding that they are both learning and realising that their relationship is not necessarily normal. I think after their first intimate interaction that you finally get to see them finally realise their importance to each other, with Dane wanting to give Primrose anything and everything she desires and also still being possessive but making his intentions clear, and Primrose giving Dane her trust and her actually understanding him and his reasonings and willing to give him what he needs. I found that Primrose manages to change Dane, in a way that doesn't change his character but more his demeanor and actions as she basically becomes his main priority as her innocence and her softness makes him start to see things differently and for the better. I actually enjoyed the scene where it all came to a head and her 'secret' that wasn't really a secret came out and I loved how it was written and the characters actions, especially Dane's when it came to them figuring everything out and finally sharing everything even the bad stuff. The ending was very good also as it gives you a glimpse into the start of their happy ever after and then also thick of their happy ending and seeing even further into their future and then getting to see that they have so much more to look forward to and you can still feel their connection. On a last note I loved that he actually introduced her to his father which I found oddly endearing but for some reason I found that I had some kind of love hate relationship with Ethel and Morty, I mean sometimes they came across as almost nice then there were times when they were horrible, especially Ethel, and it didn't seem that it came from a place of caring about Dane, she just seemed to enjoy putting Primrose in her place, but I can say that I did like how Dane stuck up for her and became protective of Primrose, so that saved each of these interactions. All in all I really did enjoy this read, I mean from the blurb/synopsis I wasn't expecting exactly what I read but I think in a way that was better as I got quite a few surprises and I really enjoyed their relationship and interactions.

This wasn't my favorite. I read it because I it was mentioned that it was banned on amazon, and I wanted to know how different it was compared to other works by this author. After finishing it, I honestly don't know why it was banned. I feel like there's other books out there that are worse than this one, which aren't banned, but i guess that's just my opinion. While it wasn't my favorite, I still don't think it was ban worthy.

Anyways, the story itself was meh. I didn't really understand her attraction to him. There was no interaction between them, and the only times she saw him were briefly when he was hiding in the shadows. Their relationship was kind of rough at first and almost rapey. I didn't so much mind the weirdo stalkerness in this. It shows how obsessed he was and at least makes the relationship part on his side makes sense. I also felt like the story was somewhat unfinished in regards to the people she ran away from. We also didn't see what happened much when it came to the secondary characters at the end. The epilogues weren't bad, it just felt like trying to put a bow on a slightly incomplete story and calling it finished.

Primrose decides to run away on her 18th birthday, she is in a foster home and the "adults" are horrible and the rest of the house isn't any better. So, while planning her next move she overhears a conversation and takes it upon herself to make her new life. She has a whole new identity. But all is not normal in the house of Dane. He sees her and tries to control his dark desires but in the end the darkness wins out. It is a good thing to because his new housekeeper defiantly needs discipline. But lies and deception are the name of the game and when they catch up to Primrose will she lose her newfound freedom along with Dane? Or will they have A Happily Ever After despite the deception in the beginning.

Dane and Primrose’s story has to be at the top of my list now. One of my all time favorites by Dani. Holy smokes, this story was 🥵🥵🥵. You can feel how intense it’s gonna be as soon as you start this book and then when you get Dane’s first point of view, it becomes crystal clear just how OBSESSED he is…and I LOVE IT. Primrose escapes from her foster home and overhears about a housekeeping position so she decides to try and take it for herself. New name, new life. What neither of these characters expected was the unexplained draw to each other. It just couldn’t be helped. Dane is all the Daddy goodness and I never wanted it to end!

This was an fantastic OTT romance with an possessive alpha that will do anything to get and keep is obsession with him. I really liked Primrose and Dane together. Primrose brought out the dark side of Dane and while Dane was trying control it, Primrose wanted it out. There were some ups and downs for these two along the way but those bumps brought Dane and Primrose closer together. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next book, Buyer Her Time.

I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Primrose is a 18 year old foster kid whose mother is going to turn her over to Tony who “runs the girls”. She needs to run, run far, run fast and continuing to run. She overhears a girl at a bus stop turning down a no questions asked housekeeping position for a lot of money. She doesn’t have anywhere to go and nothing left to lose.

Dane is hyper-controlling, obsessed, OCD, and his schedule is his life. He doesn’t deviate, he doesn’t stray….until her. Until he became fixated, consumed and infatuate with her.
