Welcome to the Sunshine Island - where the beaches are golden, the lifestyle is perfect and anything is possible.
Piper Le Brocq is happily single after the disastrous ending of her engagement eighteen months before. The only man in her life is Jax, her best friend and cousin, who spends his life teaching locals how to forage and taking tourists on boat trips around the island. Her days are filled with helping out at her mother's guest house and selling her glass mosaics at The Cabbage Patch emporium in Trinity.
Piper loves living on the Sunshine Island, where the neighbours look out for each other and visitors are welcome. So, when handsome guest Alex Cooper arrives at the guest house to check up on his grandfather, she welcomes him to the sunny island. And when he needs help after his grandfather is injured, she's quick to get involved.
Yet, the more she gets to know Alex the more mysterious he seems, and Alex isn't the only one keeping secrets from her.
4.15⭐ Genre ~ friendship fiction Series ~ Sunshine Island Publication date ~ May 25, 2022 Page Count ~ 278 Audio length ~ 6 hours 44 minutes Narrator ~ Emma Powell ~ a fine job POV ~ single 3rd Featuring ~ island life, small town, slow burn, clean romance ~ just some smooching, sweet, references to physical abuse
I was excited to find this available on Hoopla since I agreed to read the next book in the series before I realized it was a series. I'm glad I read this one first since there's an introduction to who book 2 will revolve around. It doesn't sound like I had to read them in order though, but it's just a personal preference.
Piper & Alex Piper runs a BNB on Sunshine Island with her Mom and Gran. One day she checks in and checks out, ha ha, Alex, who is there to visit his Grandpa, Colin. Piper has been quite content with her life and not looking for love after a broken engagement. She has a sea glass mosaic business that keeps her busy. But Piper and Alex slowly start to spend some time together when touring the island and grow quite fond of each other.
I absolutely LOVED the 3 generational women's bond. Jax was a delight too and they had a great cousinly connection. Alex's relationship with his Grandpa was super sweet. I have a soft spot for older gentleman and I bet Colin was just absolutely adorable.
Sometimes you just need a heartwarming, sweet story and this one fits the bill. I'm always glad when there's a fun dog to round things out. The ending came on rather quickly and I wonder if these two will be heavily involved in the next book.
This was a lovely easy beach read. Just the thing when you want something light to read. This is the first instalment of a trilogy.
The setting is in Jersey the largest of the Channel Islands. We meet Piper who helps her mother to run their guesthouse and she also has a small business that she runs in her spare time. The last thing she wants in her life is a man.
She meets new guest Alex who arrives on the island. He is in Jersey to see his grandfather. Alex is keeping secrets and unbeknownst to them when her grandmother sees Alex’s grandfather there is a shock. This opens up a painful period in both their lives. The secret that Piper, her mother or Alex are not privy to….
We soon find out what Alex is holding back, will Piper give him the chance to explain?…
This book is so easy and straightforward. It has a touch of misunderstandings and you kind of know what is going to happen and before I knew it the book was over.
Finding Love on Sunshine Island is a Heart-warming Story of Second Chances, Friendships, Family bonds, Secrets and potential Romances.
I loved the strong bonds between Piper, her Mum and Grandma. It was so lovely to see them all coming together to support each other when secrets are divulged and blasts from the pasts are revealed. I especially adored the quaint guesthouse, Piper's Mum run with some help from Piper, and the description of the idyllic views, I would love to stay there!
Oh and not forgetting the charmingly handsome Alex and his loveable Grandpa. Who may or may not be hiding secrets too!
But one thing that wasn't a secret was the slow burning chemistry that Alex and Piper was developing throughout the story. If only Piper could let her guard down and learn to open up and trust....or is she right to be cautious of the Mysterious Alex! I'll let you decide for yourself!
I really enjoyed reading Finding Love on Sunshine Island, it was a nice easy, Feel-good read, with strong loveable characters, a gorgeous setting and a great start to a new series. Oh and the cover is simply superb!
Thank you to Rachel Random Resources and Boldwood Books for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Literally the perfect book to read if you fancy an easy read that doesn't take too much concentration! Great characters with several different storyline going on for all of them, although not in a complicated way. Only downside is it ended very abruptly, but then I'm guessing all will be explained in the 2nd of the series - hopefully won't be too long to find out what happens next! Great read - would recommend
Glad I got to read my first ever ARC, however, I didn’t like the writing style at all. The way the author had the characters talk was so unrealistic to how people actually have conversations. Piper is 27 and doesn’t act that age at all. There was a lot of potential with the storyline but it just wasn’t there in my opinion. A quick read, the writing was simple and there were a few events that occurred throughout the book that could have been described better to get the reader hooked. Missed opportunity for sure.
Finding Love on Sunshine Island is a cozy heartfelt escape read that you won’t be able to put down.
I really, really adored this book. It had me constantly letting out those happy sighs and wishing I could just step into this book and spend time with Piper and her family on Jersey Island. I am ashamed to admit I might have spent my entire Saturday reading this book. It was just one of those books that you cannot put down. The story has that nice easy-breezy flow with just enough twists and drama to keep me entertained.
Georgina did a fantastic job transporting her readers to the stunning shores of Jersey Island. I really couldn’t get enough of her descriptions of the island. They were just so lush and vivid and had me Googling to see if this island actually exists (it does!). This book has that perfect idyllic setting that I love in my romance books. It also has a charming and quirky community of people living there. There was just such a wonderful mix of people living on the island, and there was this sense of community and willingness to help others that always makes my heart so happy.
Piper is such a fun and endearing character. I loved her relationship with her mom and gran. Piper’s gran and her cousin Jax were probably my favourite characters in this book (besides Piper and Alex, of course). These two have those personalities that you just can’t but be drawn to. Piper’s gran has lived such an interesting life and can be a firecracker at times. I would love to read a book about her coming to the island and making a home for her and her daughter. Jax is a real charmer and has that laid-back, fun personality that always charms my socks off. I am really hoping Georgina decides to write a book about him next.
The romance between Piper and Alex has this sweet slow-burn feel to it. There are so many cute/swoony moments between these two, and the fact that they happened on this gorgeous island had my heart-pitter-pattering even more. There are plenty of will they or won’t they moments, and even though I knew they would get together in the end, I was curious how Georgina would sort out the long-distance factor. The relationship between these two was just so charming and real.
Finding Love on Sunshine Island is a sweet romance set in an enchanting location.
Finding Love on Sunshine Island by Georgina Troy is a sweet romance in a contemporary setting on one of the English channel islands.
I liked the characters, the setting was beautiful and came to life with Ms. Troy's descriptive writing, and the secondary characters also had their own stories which were woven within the budding romance between Piper and Alex. A charming and easy afternoon read.
I voluntarily reviewed a digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from Boldwood Books via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.
this was such a nice ‘short and sweet’ romance read! i loved the setting troy built and especially liked the inclusion of a close-knit familial relationship between the three main women. enjoyed the plot and especially more of the conflicts and more exciting parts towards the end of the book, but there wasn’t as much excitement towards the beginning. i did really like piper and alex’s relationship throughout!
thank you to netgalley and the author for the arc of this book.
Jax would make someone a great boyfriend, one day. Although the woman in question would need to enjoy being barefoot a lot of the time, and knee-deep in sea water or rock pools, if she was to be attractive to him.
What a lovely read! I call this kind of read "cosy reads" because it's all so cosy! I loved everything about this book, the settings on the island of Jersey' (first time I read a book that is taking place on Jersey and I loved it! Now I want to go there on vacation!), the main characters who are very loveable, the storyline and the writing style! This book is really charming and if you want to a nice beach read this will be a perfect one for you!!!! 4 stars out of 5
I want to first thank Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book. I am sadly giving it a 2.5/5 stars though.
I want to start with the positives! I loved the setting. This gorgeous island of the coast of England, and this super cute B&B is dreamy! I’m a sucker if a good sunset and this author did a great job at help the reader really picture the scenery.
Unfortunately it felt like there was a lot of American dialogue in what was supposed to be a British Island. It may be picky be it made it hard to connect to at time. Specifically there was a mention to 40 miles per hour which I would have expected to be 40 kilometers per hour.
There was also a spot in the book were they mentioned that if these cousin weren’t related they would be a perfect romantic match and that really turned me off.
Over all I was bored though 90% of the book and every important happens at the end which ultimately led to little build up and I lot things that I could guess.
I do think this would be a good book who wants a relaxing coastal setting.
This book was just that, bland. It was interesting enough with the expectation of it picking up pace as most books do, however it just kept going at the same speed and then was over.
It was only fairly recently that I discovered how flipping fantastic Georgina’s books are. I haven’t quite read everything that she has written but I am getting there. I read the synopsis for ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ and it certainly sounded like the fun, heart warming and uplifting read that I have come to expect from Georgina. Well it was certainly all that and so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ but more about that in a bit. I absolutely loved the character of Piper Le Brocq. I warmed to her from the start. In fact it didn’t take me long to feel as though Piper had become one of my closest friends and I felt all protective of her. Piper is a lovely young lady, who works alongside her mother in the family guesthouse. Piper’s Nana also lives nearby. The three women have a strong bond between them. Piper is also very artistic and she sells her wares at a local market which has the nickname of the ‘Cabbage Patch’. Piper is funny, loyal, kind, sensitive and compassionate. I so hoped that she would get the ‘happy ever after’ ending that she so deserved. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the story for yourself to find out as I am not going to tell you. It took me no time at all to get into ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’. The lovely bright cover of the book was enough to grab my attention, the synopsis drew me in and the story within the book’s covers sealed the deal as it were. To say that reading this adorable book became addictive is a bit like saying that this Ginger Book Geek likes cake- in other words a massive understatement. I would pick the book up only intending to read a chapter or two but I would become so wrapped up in the story that I would still be sat there reading several chapters and an hour or two later. My Kindle wasn’t exactly glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it travelled everywhere with me. I couldn’t bear to miss a single minute of the story. All too quickly I reached the end of ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ and I had to say goodbye to Piper and the rest of the gang. ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ is extremely well written. Georgina has one of those easy going writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. In fact reading one of Georgina’s books feels more like a chat between friends rather than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. Georgina certainly knows how to grab the reader’s attention and draw them into what proves to be one hell of a story. Georgina clearly cares about her characters and this shines through in the very vivid and realistic way in which she describes them. She makes her characters seem just as real as you and I. I love the way in which Georgina makes the reader feel as though they are part of the story and at the heart of the action. I found ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ to be a joy to read. It’s a fun, light hearted and ultimately uplifting read. In short, I adored reading ‘Finding Love On Sunshine Island’ and I wholeheartedly recommend this book to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Georgina’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
Georgina Troy is a new author for me and I think I picked the perfect book to be introduced to her writing. Finding Love on Sunshine Island, the first in a planned series, is the perfect slice of escapism for the summer months. It has a beautiful bright cover which epitomises those lazy summer days you spend on the beach when the weather allows. Set on the island of Jersey, where the author lives, this was a lovely, quick and light read that took me away from the gloom and doom that seems ever ongoing in the world. You could tell the author lives on the island as the descriptions were so rich and vivid and she knew all the ins and outs of living on an island.
I could picture the various settings so clearly and therefore really felt like I was there alongside the main character Piper Le Brocq as she navigates a summer season helping her mother Helen run the Blue Haven guesthouse whilst also running her own stall at the Cabbage Patch Emporium. The book is typical of the genre and there is nothing earth shatteringly new added to the tried and tested formula but still this was an enjoyable read and it definitely made me want to return for future visits to the island.
Piper is a well written character who has her ups and downs in life but she is happy living on the island considering the relationship trauma she has endured in the past. She has no intentions of ever leaving the island for pastures new given past experiences and is quite content working at the beautiful guesthouse which overlooks Gorey Harbour. Nothing gives her more pleasure than finding sea glass on the beach which she can then use to upcycle items to sell at her stall. Piper is lovely but she keeps things close to her chest and hides how she really feels. Of course, she interacts with guests and her small group of friends but she always puts on a brave face as she doesn’t want people to discover her vulnerabilities.
She does this because she has been hit hard in the past when it comes to romance and therefore she is no longer actively seeking for it to come into her life and find a permanent place. She finds shutting herself away at the guesthouse and not being totally outgoing 24/7 is her best survival tactic and therefore she does not need a man to make her life complete. Life is now very different to what she hoped it would be when she left the island for university all those years ago but in some ways she is content with her mother by her side not to mention Margery, her grandmother, who ran the guesthouse for years especially when the island was was the top honeymoon destination in the 50’s and 60’s.
Things start to change for Piper when a new guest Alex Cooper arrives to spend time with his grandfather Colin who is participating in an artists retreat at the emporium. There is just something about the way the character of Alex was written that instantly as a reader you felt a little something for him. He was kind and caring but deep down he was hiding something and as he comes and goes from the island visiting Colin Piper soon starts to realise Alex is special and could be good friend to her. Maybe even something more. She never thought given the betrayal she went through in the past that she could open her heart to someone ever again but Alex is getting under her skin. As she takes him around the island and helps out when a tricky situation or two arises emotions are stirred in her that she had presumed were long dead. Is Piper prepared to listen to what these new feelings are trying to say to her or is she too damaged from the cruel hand life had previously dealt her? At the same time, I did sense that Alex wasn’t revealing all. That if the pair were ever to admit the tentative feelings brewing for one another they would have to be honest and open with each other and I’m wasn’t sure would they ever reach that point.
Piper had an abundance of good qualities in that she was independent but yet she had a close, supportive relationship with both her mum and her grandmother. She ran her own business and was all around good egg who helped anyone she could. But her confidence was knocked from past events and I wished that she could be more sure of herself and know her own heart and mind. She needed to change her life, but how? What was that something that would bring her out of herself and bring more joy into her days? Life was busy and interesting for her but it needed to be even more so. Alex really gets her thinking and stirring up emotions long kept hidden. But is he the one that will support her in everything she does? Has he a hidden agenda and what there is something she feels about his personality or background that he is not saying. It begins to really niggle away at her and when things come to a head with plenty of misunderstandings and miscommunication as a reader you wonder will the pair who you can clearly see are perfect for each other just do the right thing and get together.
There were lots of secondary characters mentioned throughout the story and at times I was frustrated that there were just brief introductions to them and then they were gone. I can only presume they will feature more heavily in future books because one character I felt we only scratched the surface of was Jax, Piper’s cousin. He is a free spirt and runs guided tours of the coastline and beaches and takes people out on day trips on his boat. I desperately want a book where he is the main character. The titbits were tantalising, and I want to know a lot more about him.
Margey, was a great character too and I loved how her storyline from the past connected with what was going on in Piper’s life. It was a serious issue dealt with well given the overall tone of the book. I also loved the fact that she was an year round sea swimmer with her bunch of women and that she encouraged Piper to join in too. Margery knew that Piper was happy in some ways but in others she really need to push herself and come put of her shell and not let one horrible experience dominate the rest of her life.
Finding Love on Sunshine does what a good summer read should do and that’s take you away and provides a relaxing escape whether you are away or not. The setting, the characters and the plot are all enjoyable. I hope we won’t be waiting too long for book number two. I think a Christmas visit to the island sounds ideal.
Georgina Troy’s Finding Love on Sunshine Island is gorgeous summer escapism at its finest!
Piper LeBrocq is very happy being single. After the end of her disastrous engagement, Piper is enjoying her life on Sunshine Island, where she spends her days helping her mother out at her guest house and selling her glass mosaics at The Cabbage Patch emporium in Trinity. Surrounded by kind-hearted friends and neighbours, Piper’s life on Sunshine Island is as close to idyllic as it is possible to get. On this enchanting Jersey island, everybody knows everybody else, so the arrival of a handsome new guest certainly gets people talking!
Handsome Alex Cooper has come to Sunshine Island to check up on his grandfather. When his grandfather is injured, Alex finds himself needing help and luckily for him, Piper very quickly offers to lend him all the assistance he requires. Nothing is too much trouble for kind-hearted Piper and the two of them soon find themselves getting closer and closer…
Falling in love was definitely off the agenda for Piper. But the more time she spends with Alex, the more she finds all her resolves to stay single melting like an ice-cream on a hot summer’s day. But is Alex all that he seems? Can she trust him with her heart? Or will his secrets end up putting paid to a future together?
Georgina Troy’s books are great fun and Finding Love on Sunshine Island is a delightful romantic charmer that cannot fail to lift the spirits, tickle the funny bone and touch the heart. Sunshine Island is an idyllic Jersey community I would love to live in and the eccentric, lovable and unique characters peopling this beautiful island will surely find a way to every reader’s heart.
A blissfully romantic treat perfect for Phillipa Ashley fans, Georgina Troy’s Finding Love on Sunshine Island is an enjoyable summer tale readers will adore.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A delightful romance, set against a charming backdrop of the sunniest place in the British Isles!
Jersey, is an island I visited as a small child and somewhere I’d love to revisit as an adult. So, I jumped at the chance to read a romance set in the Channel Isles – a perfect combination.
Blue Haven Guest House is a place where Piper Le Brocq helps out her mum, Helen. When she’s not busy serving breakfast to guests, she runs a concession at The Cabbage Patch, where she makes and sells mosaics along with other artisans. Having a busy life in a place she loves is a welcome distraction. That’s until a guest turns her head...
Alex Cooper is in Jersey to visit his grandfather. It’s also a chance for him to get away from some “issues” at home. Unexpectedly, a young woman who works at the guest house where he’s staying catches his eye. He’s not looking for a distraction but somehow the unplanned attraction makes him question what he wants in life.
This is a heart-warming beginning to what promises to be a wonderful series, full of likeable characters and insightful details. The author has successfully written an enticing narrative with a blend of community spirit, family drama, and a touch of romance.
Overall, Finding Love on Sunshine Island leaves the reader with a promise of more… the ending hints at what is to come in the future and I can’t wait to spend more time there, soaking up the sunshine!

It's my first time picking up a book by this author. While I won't rave about the romance, this book contains several elements I love - working in a bed-and-breakfast, sea-glass mosaic art, ice creams, sea excursions, dolphins, picnics, wild swimming, and stolen kisses at bus stops.
The story takes place on Jersey, Channel Islands, and it is also where the author herself is from, so as a reader, I could really feel her love pouring out from the pages. I appreciate it that she included some facts about the island in character conversations. What a gorgeous, scenic place!
I didn't totally enjoy the love story mainly because Piper came across as somewhat juvenile and mistrusting, though she is fiercely loyal and caring towards others. I also didn't like all those moments when she 'fibbed', and withheld the things she wanted to ask or say. Secondly, the story feels a little marred to me because of what had happened with her grandma years ago - it was just really sudden and uncomfortable to read about this issue in a lighthearted beach romance. Lastly, Fliss was an unpleasant character and I didn't enjoy her presence in the book at all.
My favourite character and also a great redeeming factor of this book, is Jax, the cute cousin. I love their friendly banter and how he always seems to be around to cheer Piper up or talk her out of her thoughts. A sunshine boy through and through.
The Blurb : Piper Le Brocq is happily single after the disastrous ending of her engagement eighteen months before. And when he needs help after his grandfather is injured, she's quick to get involved. Yet, the more she gets to know Alex the more mysterious he seems, and Alex isn't the only one keeping secrets from her.
My Thoughts : We meet Piper Le Brocq, Piper is currently single after ending her engagement months before. She enjoys working at the family b&b along side her mum Helen. Also she runs a stall at the local market called The Cabbage Patch Emporium, selling her glass mosaics. When a new guest Alex Cooper arrives to visit his Grandfather, there seems to be an instant attraction between the pair and soon the pair become close when Piper helps out Alex’s Grandfather after an injury. I really enjoyed getting to know Piper and her family. With such a beatutiful setting in Jersey, you can just feel that you are there in amongst the storyline. Georgina Troy gave us some lovely descriptions of the surroundings and the area Piper and her family live in. A feel good read about family, love and new begginings. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
A Secret Escape to Sunshine Island is fun romance between a popstar and an island resident.
Matteo Stanford needs a place to shoot a music video and Sunshine Island is the perfect getaway. He's a friend of island resident Alex and decides to plan a visit. Almost immediately, Matteo's location is outed by the press and his plans could come crumbling down around his feet.
Alex's girlfriend Piper comes to the rescue and drags along her two besties, Casey and Tara. Once Casey mentions the use of Gorey Castle, they get to work trying to secure the venue. Casey finds herself promoted to set designer for the shoot and wedding planner for her friend's secret wedding. Amid all of the fun, Casey and Matteo develop more than a friendship.
I enjoyed A Secret Escape to Sunshine Island. The author focuses the story on the romance between Casey and Matteo but she includes a lot of focus on family and friendship, as well. The author included drama and obstacles to Casey and Matteo's romance. He's a popular star, she's an island resident. His lifestyle is the exact opposite of Casey's. Their chemistry is undeniable as they traverse a potential relationship.
This is a cute story with great characters, a wonderful setting, and spectacular world building. I loved the author's writing style and the pacing of the book. I was hooked from the very beginning and the story and characters kept me completely engaged.
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a great introduction to a new series, with lovely characters. I found this to be a nice, light-hearted and easy book to read set on Jersey. I read this in one sitting, unable to pull myself away from the delightful setting. I am looking forward to seeing what Georgina has planned for the next book in the series.
This is a light and sweet holiday romance between Piper, native of Jersey, and Alex who comes to stay at her family’s guesthouse. Sparks fly from the very beginning, but Piper’s been hurt before and is reluctant to take a chance on another relationship, especially with someone who lives on the mainland.
Piper’s awful past experience has left her understandably distrustful of men, but matters aren’t helped by meddlesome family on both sides. There’s a great bond between Piper, her mother, and her grandmother, but it does mean they sometimes have trouble taking no for an answer. I did find the subplot with Piper’s gran and Alex’s grandfather fascinating and an interesting contrast to the romance between the respective grandchildren.
In addition to a romance, this book does double duty as an advertisement and travel guide to Jersey as Piper shows Alex around. It sounds both beautiful and historically fascinating, I’m left with a serious case of travel envy! I also loved the artistic community at the Cabbage Patch and wish that we got to see more of the people there and Piper’s art.

Finding Love on Sunshine Island by Georgina Troy Piper Le Brocq is happily single after the disastrous ending of her engagement eighteen months ago. When handsome guest Alex Cooper arrives to check up on his grandfather, she welcomes him to the sunny island. I was so happy to receive an invite to read and review a copy of Finding Love on Sunshine Island, the first in a brand new series by Georgina Troy, as I always enjoy the effortless style of her writing. I was not to be disappointed. The story is a wonderful combination of secrets and romance, which this author pens competently. Sit back and enjoy. I am happy to recommend it and look forward to reading book 2. I want to thank Publishers Boldwood Books, author Georgina Troy and Rachel's Random Resources for the invite and a copy to read and review.
This is a charming story that is packed with potential for the rest of the series. Piper is devoted to her family, and she has no interest in finding a man, her track record in the romance stakes has taken her off the market and she’s more than happy with her Mum, her Gran, and her cousin Jax. That is until she meets visitor Alex Cooper who catches her attention creating a whole range of problems as they get to know each other. Whilst this is romantic fiction, the story tackles a tragic storyline as we learn about the truth behind Piper’s grandmother’s divorce. Not everything is as it may seem, and Alex’s grandfather holds the key to being able to lay the past to rest. I loved everything about this book, it was cute, fun, and honest. Whilst I knew how the romance would turn out, it was fun following the twists and turns that led to the finish line. I would love to visit The Cabbage Patch and lose a few hours looking at and learning about local crafts. I’ve never visited Jersey, but I’m sure that I would thoroughly enjoy escaping there.
I was smitten by The Boardwalk series when I discovered them last year so I couldn’t wait to dive into this new series and join life on The Sunshine Island. I adored Piper, her mother and her gran. I loved the idea of 3 generations if strong women who have held their own over the years and come out stronger. She was such a sweet character who made me feel really protective over her. The chemistry with Alex was there from the very beginning and I was willing them to get together throughout. The will they, won’t they trope really kept me on the edge of my seat whilst reading. The guest house belonging to the family sounds delightful and definitely somewhere I would stay. I have never experienced Jersey however, Georgina’s rich description has really tempted me to go. This is a cute and light introduction to a new linked series and it was perfect for some much needed escapism. Georgina Troy’s writing always makes me feel like I have just had a big hug and I cannot wait to experience the rest of this series.
This is the first in a promising series which is set in Jersey and you get a real feel for the holiday island with the coast and surrounding countryside. Piper has, it seems, been burying herself in her life at her mother's Bed and Breakfast and at the same time, building up her own creative business in a local craft centre. You sense from the start that she may be ready to move on from her broken relationship but you can also see her kind nature and fondness for her family.
When Piper meets Alex, there is a certain spark but you also sense that he has a history which is holding him back. Family is an important part of the story and her friendship with Jax is a part of her life which keeps her centred. This is an entertaining read, just right for a summer holiday, with some likeable characters and a beautiful setting.
In short: holiday romance or happy ever after? Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book
This story is set on the island of Jersey (sunshine Island). The main characters are thee single women - a grandma (Margery) , a mum (Helen) and the main character Piper (the daughter). First of all I would like to thank the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this book.
This book was a clean, sweet, slow burning romance and it was an enjoyable read for sure, perfect to read lying on the beach as it’s a very quick easy read.
I really enjoyed the relationship between the daughter, mum and gran and if I’m honest I would of been happy if the storyline was just those three. I really enjoyed the banter between them and the love they obviously shared for one another. Sadly I never really felt a connection between Piper and Alex, I really didn’t see them as a couple unfortunately.
I adored the setting, I always love a story set on a small island, especially when you can imagine the characters walking around.
Definitely grab this if you are after an easy read.
